- During home and garden activities, my inner child is so happy when I allow myself to stop adulting, live in the moment, and enjoy doing something I would do if I were still a child. From playing in puddles to talking about garden fairies, I enjoy life at home, and in the garden, as I allow my inner child help me stay young both mentally and physically. And yes... I saw my typo. Ugh LOL

This home is going to be as beautiful as the old home!
The beauty of home ownership is that you have the freedom of choice as opposed to limitations with renting a property.. I am in awe of the amount of change you have undertaken and achieved in the past year to Sugarwood and gardens ..Looking Terrific now , well done ✅👍
I will gladly watch your videos so you can get help with projects or whatever you need down the road! I've actually just been binge watching you for the past few days..lol
I know many of us joyfully live vicariously through you because not everyone wants or can do all that you do, but it's sure fun to watch. And you have definitely inspired me to find my way to live a more simplified and refined life. What am I waiting for? Life is too short! Thank you, Linda! As a matter of fact, I just told my daughter I want to go back to visit Mass & NH because I know the area because I lived there as a teenager, and I still get homesick, especially in the fall. Thank you, kindred spirit.
You'll have to help Benjamin find his inner child because everyone needs to splash in a puddle, swing on a swing, or lay on the grass once in a while..😉
Linda, I love your inner child! I, too, must play in a rain puddle. My husband always asks, "Why don't you just go around?" And I say, "What fun is there in that?!" I absolutely loved when you panned to the puddle then your boots and then back to the puddle........this is the JOY in this life, however small.
Everything about Sugarwood is just lovely and thank you for taking us for a walk in the New England woods!
I should have waited to comment until the end but did not. I was having problems for two years after catching the "vid" and proceeded to a wasting phase. I started taking vitamin B1 and B12 and that turned my health around immensely. I had no energy, no desire to eat or even able to eat due to pain. After taking the B1 and B12 I can now eat and have been landscaping my property.
I hope this information helps you and anyone else reading it. Take care.
What a beautiful video. The stone walls, the garden clean up, the rain, the twinkle lights! Just glorious.
I look forward to your uploads more than anyone else I follow on YT...I consider it my relaxing/chill time with a friend...Love your home, your yard, your projects, and field trips...And the way it's presented...I always come away feeling I've spent at least a little bit of time in a simple elegant way. :) I hope you feel better soon.
You just made my heart sing. Thank you so much!
Sometimes we just have to ask for help no matter how hard it is. The garden clean out looks great. Hope you feel better soon.
Many hands make the work go so much quicker. Good decision to get help. Fun to see you and Shannon in the woods together! Love the fairy lights. Do try to pace yourself and get plenty of rest. We finally got some rain here this weekend. I'd almost forgotten what rain sounds like.
Oh Linda, your home and gardens are delightful and Im so loving the "sugar shack" very quaint. Please take care of your health! Cheers
Thank you Linda for the ‘give yourself credit’ message. I needed that. I get so frustrated with the never ending to-do list here and forget how much I do achieve with very little help.
Thank you Linda. I’m always learning something new from you 😍. I never heard of ghost flowers. They are so interesting looking. Also, be sure to get your thyroid levels checked yearly. Hugs😍
Dear Linda, Walking through your garden... so tranquil. Little by little you will conquer the gardens. Everything is falling into place. Thank you for sharing. Hugs 💞
Linda those are called Garlic Scapes! If the flower opens up it will drain your garlic bulb! Cut the scape off and then cut the green below the flower, it should be tender not woody. Cut it like green onions then sauté it in butter, it has a wonder mild garlic flavor. I like using it with scrambled eggs. My kindred spirit just made a garlic scape pesto with it. SOOOOO DELICIOUS!
I am so looking forward to the brick sidewalk being redone! Thank you for the video and feel better!
Linda: I hope you feel better very soon. Your garden looks beautiful!
Even though you are not feeling well you produced a great video once again, it was relaxing and peaceful as always. Hope you get your strength back soon, it sounds like your on the mend.
Oh my word, Harris Center was amazing I felt like I was was in Europe, your garden is spectacular, thank you for sharing have a Great rest of the day.
I love Tasha Tudor and so admired her life, I try to garden like her but at my age and health I'm slowing down. Love the house and all your work on it, slow down and enjoy the beauty of what you've accomplished
You have done more work inside and out at Sugarwood than most of us have in our life time. Your a hard worker, with many talents. Please think about your health. I'm praying you can get those ladies to come back and help out in other areas. When I was younger, (65 in November this year) I could work circles around some people, I did yard work even at 6 ,7 months pregnate I'd push a mower, climb ladders. I was full of energy. Then at 50 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Then my energy slowed down. My mind goes 50 miles an hour, but my body says , slow down. It happens to most of us.
What awesome video yes Linda a little help is good ,you have done a lot 😊
What a beautiful video . Love playing in puddles with my Hunter boots too .
I always marvel at how the Native Americans knew which plants they could use for medical purposes? Honestly, think about the times things didn’t go right with the testers 😳🤔😬.
Have a wonderful rest of the week . I hope you aren’t having the rain that your neighbor VT is getting .
Love watching so peaceful thank you 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Your garden is utterly delightful! Great job, Linda! I miss what used to be our garden, surrounding our home of 45 years....we had 27 mature decidious trees, and a small orchard. Lots of hydrangeas, Banksia rose, Irises, ferns, etc. A delight for us, our kids and their friends and our dogs! Good memories....
Another lovely video Linda....you are such an inspiration to me. I learn so much from you. Nothing like a good coat of mulch. I’m so in love with Sugarwood. You are blessed with so many God given talents. Hope you are feeling better🌸
Sigh...so lovely! I just know fairies are out and about...
Your house inside and outside looks fabulous! All of your hard work is paying off!
Hi Linda those are garlic scapes. They should be cut off so the energy will go into the actual garlic bulbs. This will produce larger bulbs. Great video. You can use the scapes in all sorts of dishes.
Everything looks so nice and homey. Your things and home are classy and so are you. I enjoy your show a lot and learn things l didn’t know. Thank you for sharing.❤ Pat from Seattle.
I know you are farther south Linda , but I hope you and yours are all safe from the rains up in New England. Be safe.
Wonderful video, as always. I’m amazed at what you have accomplished at Sugarwood in such a short amount of time. Transformation of this magnitude can easily take years or even decades. Kudos to you and Ben for your hard work! It’s definitely paying off! Hugs from Gloria in Mississippi 💓
Love the painting going on in the sun room…..
Hello Linda hugs.!! Beautiful downloads.!!💖🤗🦋
Aww Linda what a beautiful and peaceful video. ENJOYED GREATLY from beginning to end🎉..As always thank you for all that you do..And take care of yourself.
Your property is so lovely, thanks you for another beautiful video 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
Thank you for such a lovely relaxing video. I am one of those people who never thinks that I get enough accomplished so thank you for reminding me to give myself credit. You give me inspiration. I love your home and your garden and look forward to viewing your video each week 😍
I love Sugarwood. It is so peaceful & just you walking the grounds & sharing with us is so calming. I would never leave this place. 😊❤
Be patient with yourself. It took me three to four months to get back to normal. You are used to being so busy, but let yourself heal. 💕💕 Thank you for this fun video!
Hardneck garlic produces garlic scapes which you would want to cut off so the energy goes to making the bulbs larger. You can make garlic pesto to spread on baguette slices or freeze it in small jars to bring out later for addition to soups or whatever you want.
Nice visit….the wall garden looks wonderful…..enjoy and take good care😊
Beautiful place, thar Harris Center. Your gardens are really becoming a sight to see. Love the lighting over the arch. Thanks for sharing
Wow Linda your garden looks beautiful, I truly injoy your videos.
Garlic scapes....cut them off, or the plant will feed the flower they will produce. Use the scapes for soups, pestos, whipped potatoes, etc...milder garlic flavor. I cut them off closer to the ground. I put some in a vase of water and they flowered. Wonderful video. Your landscapers did a fantastic job and looked like they even edged.
Great information. Thank you
Another lovely video. I’m so in love with Sugarwood. The landscapers did a great job and I always love a good coat of mulch, makes it look so neat. You are such an inspiration to me Linda. Blessed with so many God given talents. I learn so much from you ....hope you are feeling better 🌸
Linda my dad used to say if you knot the top of garlic more energy goes into the bulb to produce a larger garlic bulb 😊
I find your videos so calming in these trying times. Thank you so much for that. You can make Pesto with those garlic scapes. Use ½ basil and ½ scapes. Don't include the "bump". Cut them up into ½" pieces. They have a mild garlic flavor so you can skip adding garlic to the mix. They're also good in stir fries. Here in Newbury, MA they charge $8 lb. for garlic scapes.
Another beautiful video, thanks!
Thank you
Thank you for sharing and inspiring. You get so much done!
I get to let my inner child play tomorrow. I'm in Plymouth, NH, for the next two days... Ya !!!!
Thank you so much Linda for taking us through your days, the garden developments, the road trips. I don’t know how everyone else feels but the constant days of rain was drowning my plants, making me feel depressed and no feeling very well because I was hoping to get outside to work on my plant bed, my lawn and my plants in pots. I began to feel moldy myself!!
A suggestion……get your handyman (aka hubby😊) to put a 2 x 4 upright under the Crabapple limb to raise it up off the ground. We have to do this with our Live Oak limbs here in the South. It will be better for the tree and then you can mow under it. Thank you for always delighting me with your vlogs! Feel better soon!! 🥰
Beautiful garden and hope you are feeling better. Sending lots of hugs 🤗
I so enjoyed this morning adventure and it is raining here also for the last few days. I can hear the rumbling of thunder here in Texas. Thank you for letting us be with you on the adventures of working, walking, and showing your beautiful space and home. I look forward to next Sunday with you .
Looks awesome, your puddle made me want to join you and jump up and down in it . Sweet childhood memories
Always enjoy your videos
Wonderful video!! Love your gardens. Glad you are feeling better just give yourself some time.
Thank you Linda. I am under the weather and your vlogs always uplift me. You’re a treasure💗
I hope you feel better soon kindred spirit 🌹
@@TheRayjane thank you🙂🌷
So glad you have help in your garden!
Your videos are always so beautiful and relaxing. Sorry you’ve been under the weather….take care. 🙏💕
Everything about this video was really enthralling-especially the late evening part. Solar lighting has come such a long way, hasn’t it? That was quite a rainstorm you had. We won’t have rain here where I live until probably October, or thereabouts. I love rain, so that was really an adjustment when we moved here to Arizona. I had a subscription to the Victoria magazine from its beginning, and I always loved it when they would feature Tasha Tudor. I don’t remember what state she was from, but I did know it was in New England. Hope you, Willow and Ben have a good week and that you are soon feeling better!
I think it would look cute to build a tiny "house" around your fan. basically a roofed lattice piece for air flow with maybe some adorable trim. i know you mentioned snow, but if you make the roof pitch steep i imagine it would slide off.
Yes! I purchased a large Martin bird house to faux mimic last year, but the installer told me not to put anything on/over it for concerns of carbon monoxide. I hope to research more.
Gee! I did watch your video but forgot to give thumbs up and a little comment. Does anyone else have this problem?
But loved your tour and everything else "SugarWood"! Can't wait for fall, we are coming up that way, yea! ❤from Georgia!
I have been following you since you lived in CT. and I just adore all your doing inside and out at Sugarwood. We live in Milton, NH and we enjoy gardening and colonial history as well. Thank you for always inspiring me. Blessings.
Hi and thank you! Guess what though... we were in Groton, MA, not CT 😊. I never heard of Groton, MA until we moved there and so many people think/thought I meant CT.
@@newenglandfineliving Oh my goodness!!!! All this time I thought it was CT!!!! This makes so much more sense to me now!! Oh good grief.
Linda, I hope you feel better soon! The stone on your property and at the Harris Center is just beautiful. Best Wishes to all at your house!
Your little giggle when Ben said, “OMG you’re four.” was precious. I played it over again; a sweet, flirty moment captured. The garden work, fairy lights & Harris Center ironwork - simply divine!! I’ve had a recent medical concern, and I’m working on calming anxiety. Your video is helping me do that the natural way. Thank you!!
I work outside the majority of last week, weeding, and cutting back a few things……..I too am hard on my self ! I think I am the only one that knows how much time it takes but that’s ok …..I have to go out,for my happiness. Enjoyed your video, hope you feel Better 🌻🍃
Linda, your property is so beautiful. I live in Missouri and it has its own beauty but I love the East Coast.
Feel better soon!
That was such a great video today , your border and the stonewall are beautiful! I enjoyed it all so much, happy gardening, I pray you start feeling better!
It could be that somewhere, within a mile or two, someone has newly put in some beehives. I planted a heritage apple tree 10 years ago, and, until last year it had never put out a lot of apples. I fed it every year, but eventually I figured that was all the apples I'd ever get. Then, last year the number of apples I got TRIPLED. That was the year my new neighbors put in three beehives.
Hi Linda, you do so much in your home and garden! Your yard looks lovely. Please know that your labors are seen and appreciated. Sometimes you need to go easy when your energy is low. I loved seeing you splash in the puddles!! Being a “child”💕is so much fun, and fun to watch! Thanks for sharing your home and gardens💕
Oh the wall area looks wonderful! I envy you all your rock and stones. Where we live we have to buy rock and it is very costly!! How fun to start a neighborhood project! Best wishes and have a wonderful day.
I buy rock too. A pallet or two makes a great low carb birthday present to myself. 🚫🎂
My godmother introduced me to Tasha Tudor 35-40 years ago. She saw her at a speaking engagement in Flint, Michigan. I have all of her books. I love that she lived her own life the way she wanted to. An 18th century woman in the 20th century - priceless.
I love seeing what is happening in your home and garden! I love the porch!
The garlic is called scapes, those are the blooms of garlic. It happens on hard neck varieties. You need to cut them off so that the garlic doesn’t taste bad. The nice thing is that they taste great sautéd or in pesto.
Love the look of the gardens. So glad you exposed so much of the stone walls. Reminds me of beautiful images of England and Ireland. All you need are the sheep grazing! You have accomplished so much in such a short time and you deserve to take a break. Take care of yourself and don't get overwhelmed. It is so easy to do! I so enjoy all your visions.
The top of the garlic are called garlic scapes. If you have a dehydrator you can make garlic powder.
Linda you have a Beautiful place. I can't wait to see your weekly videos on what you are doing in the garden and in the house. Such Serenity there. I love our inner child with memories of the rain 🌧 and mud puddles. Lol
May I ask why you choose Benjamin Moore Paint over Sherwin Williams Paint? I'm going to tackle painting our white knotty pine in my bathroom and our master bedroom. Thank you! Have fun 👍 😊❤.
Thank you for another beautiful video!
Oh, puddle jumping is the best, enjoying it with you. Hope you are feeling better, sometimes it takes a while, happy to see you taking care. I love the stone walls and the ferns, you have so many of both. Thank you for your efforts, enjoy your videos very much.
Cherry trees are generally planted in pairs as they’re generally not self pollinating. They have developed a few self pollinating varieties but it may be why your tree isn’t flowering. Your gardens are looking beautiful. All your hard work on the porch is showing. TYFS
Love the wall cleanup. Wow! What a lovely extension of your gardens!
GEORGIOUS YARD! I'm 67 & I too have given most of the home & yard maintenance up to young professionals. It was hard for me but I have to....there comes a time....❤
New England Stone walls are just wonderful! Yours is now looking just great! We all need help at times! Sure hope you feel better very soon! Thanks for sharing another wonderful video!!
Hi Linda this is Kimberley from western N.Y. would not hurt to get tested for lyme disease.I never would of thought I had it .I also luve in tge country and next to a wooded area.
I was just discussing that with Ben and will be making a call to my Dr. Thank you for reminding me!
Lovely Video Linda. Last night I watched a video you did of Manchester Vermont. My husband and i are excited to antique shop and outlet shop as well at " Eileen Fisher" there in September, as well as visit Williamstown and a friend in the Berkshires. Thank you for all the information in that video. I knew Manchester Vt was very nice but even the antique stores have gorgeous merchandise. happy Sunday. I hope you get reenergized soon!! jannieo
Loved this video….little bit of everything NewEngland
I really love the music you choose for your videos, and I don't recall anyone else making that comment. I found myself watching your tour of the Harris Center several times just to enjoy the celtic music. Beautiful house, beautiful gardens, beautiful music!
Hi Linda,
You may not want a chair under weak limbs. It would be awful if a limb fell on someone.
Love your videos!
So many gardens to tend! Don't know how you do it.
Your garden is beautiful! And looking better and better every day, God bless you Linda you are a joy to many of us ❤
Good morning Linda! Everything looks amazing! I enjoy looking at every corner of your yard! The neighbors gathering sounded exciting. Thank you for the peaceful tour of your home and nearby areas…❤
It’s always good to hire help that can assist you with your goal. It looks really pretty! Thanks for sharing your stories, it’s lovely to see that part of your life. xo
I loved the rain adventure!! As a child I loved to play in the warm summer showers, noting each large puddle. It is a sweet memory, feeling totally free, loving all the senses that rain unleashed. Seeing flowers and trees as they receive the rain, as a special gift was so joyful. The birds and worms were also so celebratory, so I joined in the event! The sounds, smells and sights of rain delight my senses, even at 66. I don’t mind the slower pace or the break from my gardens, as I’m out there ( barefoot of course) soaking it all up! Thanks for the NE rain vid.
You have done a great job with Sugarwood inside and out, you should be so proud . Linda, I have a beautiful book I would love to send to you, could I send to your store location .
Another interesting, soothing video ! The clean up and mulching by the wall looks soooo good . What a beautiful area where you live !!!
I hope you feel better soon.
Sundays are such a pleasure , especially because of your vlogs!
Foxglove is biennial, so don't bother transplanting too many of them..the mother plant reseeds and then dies ..she will grow wherever she pleases! I love that about nature! Your house and grounds are so beautiful and inspiring ❤️
Thank you for your advice!
Enjoyed the garden. It is looking lovely. Especially liked the bit of whimsy of your splashing in the water puddle like a 2 year old. Oh that brings back memories I too have had the Vid and have had extreme exhaustion since June 10, it must be a new strain. This summer has been very wet here on the Georgia Coast and so it has been difficult to work in the garden except early morning and late afternoon. Your music selections are always so well thought out to coordinate with the subject and time of year. How do you do it?! Looking forward to the upcoming details of the garden room. Try to leave as much rustic charm as possible and the adorable table and chairs overlooking the back yard. So lovely.
Everything looks beautiful Linda! I have a beautiful arbor those lights would look beautiful on. Thanks for the link!
Such a good idea to get neighbors together. Community is so important!
Your videos are so calming and beautiful. They remind me of Josie’s videos from the UK🪻🪻🪻
Also - fascinating about Ghost Pipe. I'd never heard of it! I hope you are feeling 100% soon. Take care.
