Man this video is great, very inspiring for this years track season, my 800 last year as a highschool freshmen was 2:18 so if you can do a 1:57 that makes me think why can’t i right 😅 Great Video man saving this for when track season starts again 😊
Some shorter shorts will feel really good especially on workout days. Would also recommend getting a pair of flats for working out/tempting if you don’t have them. Keep working be mindful of how you feel keep pushing.
Yea I got actual running shorts now and it’s a lot better!😂 I have been looking to get a pair of flats. It’ll suck at first but will be worth it in the long run.
Currently I run a 2:04.38 dropped it from around 3:10 from a year and a half ago, I'm now a senior in high school I feel like my speed is easily there but I'm scared to come in too quick cause I'm not sure if my base is there even though I can rep 57-58s in practice
I've been doing XC but my 400/800 are way better than my 1600/3200. I feel like i have a good shot at going low 2 minute in the 800 and 51-53 in the 400 but I haven't broken 11:30 in the 3200 🥴
Wet inpressive drop but you do have to remember your 400 time was way better than your 800 last year so you clearly lacked stamina which you’ve built this year. Would’ve been good to see how much you’d also improved in the 400 to see how much your raw speed has improved. Clearly there’s be some improvement but how close to sub 50 could you go? Would be interesting to see
Yea I definitely agree! My fastest 400 now is 50.3 but that was from last season. I’m doing my first open 400 at sac state in a few weeks so i’ll see then!!
Hey my 800m right now as a freshman is 2:24 but my 400m is 1:07 and my one mile is 5:20. Any advice or workouts for how you increased your 400m so I can run a faster 800m so I can break 2:00?
Those are good times as a freshmen!! You have a lot of room to improve. dm me on instagram and I can help you get started!! it’s @runningjunkiesoffical
@@RunningJunkies 51 split so probably 53 and for the mile I haven’t raced in it yet but I have time trialed for 5:13 at practice. I know I could probably get sub 5 though.
@@bks_wrld Okay you can definitely break 2 minutes easily for the 800m. You have plenty of natural foot speed which is great! You just need to bring down your mile time. If you can bring your mile time down to 4:50 you can easily break 2 minutes for the 800m. My recent video shows my workout plan that brought me from a 5:40 mile to a 4:48 mile in just 2 months!! Go check it out.
Either you have the world record for the most talent in any human being, or you have to have done some other sport. A person out of shape is not even running a 84 second 400m let alone only 5 seconds from breaking 50 in the 400m. My "out of shape" 400m time was 64 as a freshman in high school, and even that is actually pretty quick compared to most people. 54 is out of this world for a "first timer". A 54 second 400m is around 4:40 for a mile or so, so by that logic, a person in college out of shape could run a 4:37 mile, which is obviously not happening without serious training.
No way you’re in high school man, you look old as hell 💀 insane progress though. Unbelievably impressive. With those 400 workouts at 67 average, you might want to switch to the 32 and 5k. I think you could probably run a 9:10 in the 32 or around that with a bit more focus on that event. Switching to shorter shorts might also make you run faster.
Yea I started running my sophomore year of college😭💀. I would like to run a fast 32 time like that but I also can run a 49-50 400m so it makes sense for me to use that for the 800-1500m. But I would love to be versatile and great at every event one day!!👍🏼
Hii I have a question I took stated taking track a bit serious this year, but my races are more on the 1500m,3000m and maybe soon to be the (800m/5000m), but my question is how can i do like really great in all these races especially from the 1500m upwards, My coach and I insisted for the next month's or so since I'll be running my next races in September is to increase my mileage per week (my highest is 41.2km), is that good enough to build a great aerobic base or do I need more, what' should I do?
Yes you definitely need to do more miles per week. Try to run 40-55 miles a week (64-88km). That will definitely build your aerobic base. Start to include some hard anaerobic workouts to get yourself ready for some fast 1500m races in September. You need to build your anaerobic system too. If you tell me your Pr’s for these events I can give you some workout examples that you can maybe do every week or biweekly.
@@RunningJunkies and by the way in September is cross country season, I live in south Africa so our cross country season later during the year, but my coach said we'll get into the more anaerobic workouts later , closer o the xc season, for now said i should work on my aerobic system and build up my miles/km
@@RunningJunkies and one more question when doing my daily runs, do i need to do them slow and easy all the way (let's say about an hour), or can they be a fast like moving pace(lets also say for an hour), will the benefits be different

@@RunningJunkies Well, im trying to, and have been making great progress but yesterday at the end of my run I started feeling a weird sharp pain in my left calf, thought nothing of it and kept running through it, throughout the day it got worse and sleep didn't help at all, since then its been hard to walk because of it and I certainly cant run...
