Welcome back to our TURKEY STREET FOOD series! Today we are in the food Mecca of GAZIANTEP, one of Turkey’s BEST food cities. We are exploring more Turkish street food of Gaziantep in this episode!
We start our day eat Yuvalama (soup with yogurt broth, rice balls, chickpeas, lamb and mint oil) for breakfast on the street. We ventured into the old bazaars to see what the traditional vendors are selling. The Coppersmith Bazaar was super interesting and had a traditional feel. After breakfast, it was time to have Gaziantep’s best dessert: BAKLAVA! Here in the bazaar you can order baklava of any size or kind, but in Gaziantep it is a MUST to eat pistachio baklava.
Next we head to a local shop serving a Gaziantep specialty known as Dürüm Nohut (chickpea wrap). Here you can choose all of the fresh ingredients yourself. It is extremely filling, satisfying and healthy. It is also a great vegetarian street food option!
Next, we visit the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, which is one of Gaziantep’s top attractions. Zeugma is the name of ancient Gaziantep and these mosaics were discovered all around Gaziantep. It is a great way to spend the afternoon and don’t forget to check out the Gypsy Girl piece!
After the museum, we walk 5 minutes up the street to try the delicious Küşleme (grilled lamb backbone)! This is a rare meat dish, as there isn’t much of this cut of meat on a lamb. It is tender and juicy. Cooked to perfection! It was served with a fresh salad and a few spicy Küşleme pieces. You can also get delicious baklava here as well.
To end our epic day of street food eating, we wanted to try the Cumba Burger, which is a special type of kunefe. It is LOADED with pistachios and ice cream. It is a sinful dessert. Make sure to bring 5 or 6 friends if you want to eat it all!

Hey guys... I love to watch you. Specially thanks for going to my home town Antep... But if you come back to İstanbul back again I d love to tell stories about the history which might help for new videos... Meanwhile, the drink that you didn't like is the base of Coca Cola. It is called Meyan Root. Meyan Root is the base of it. But no sugar added. And it was served in Europa and the US until end of the 19th century as a medicine :))) Then it became Coca Cola.
many thanks for the informations i've check in the net it's liquorice juice
Love turkey series! I hope u both make alot of videos in Turkey!!!

Your country committed a genocide and denies it
@Ksjs Jdjdb 1st its a food video about TURKEY. 2nd Turkish people were mean to Greeks and Armenians. Ever think about that?
@Ksjs Jdjdb not politics. Im bringing up human stuff. Whether your mood is down or not those millions of people died and the more people know, the better.
@Ksjs Jdjdb and how is Armenia not wanting to solve this problem? The first step is recognition and of Turkey recognised what they have done Armeniens shouldnt have to bring awareness to this issue. Sorry to say but you need to think more before you speak
@Ksjs Jdjdb yeah? Give me more details about what Turkey wants to do resolve the issue
Merhaba

Hahaha yes it’s true!!
Speaking of the Turkish black cold drink, we have a very similar thing in Taiwan that is called bitter tea which is brew from variety of herbs and it’s very good for the body 😊
Oh yes we have had it before! Haha
That drink is made of licorice ( Meyan in Turkish ) Nobody drinks it in Turkey else then local people of Gaziantep . As somebody knows that drink i dont recomend to have it in big amounts . It is a real medicine which helps as a diuretic and may alter the electrolyte balance of body in a bad way.
Hi guys thnks for this episode brilliant!
OMG the food looks delicious!😍🙌🏼
Gaziantep is an awesome foodie city!
Hope visit in turkey because so Gold food and good people
Turkey looks beautiful
Really nostalgic for me, thank you!! Turkish food, and especially desserts, is one of the best in the world! I miss künefe 😕. By the way, the second g in Güllüoğlu is silent, called "yumuşak g", which means soft g (it is sounded like a glottal stop), so it is pronounced Gül-lü-o'lu, and it means Güllü's son. Next time you see ğ, know that it is silent 😊
Oh ok thank you for the information!
@@LukeMartin You are welcome! You will notice "oğlu" as the ending of some last names in Turkey (many are part of shop names). It is similar to the Mc in McDonald, McBride, etc.

Lved ur vlog ❤❤🌷🌷❤❤
Very nice. I spent three months in Turkey (including the East) in 1986 and did not have a bad meal that I can remember. That trip took me to Syria, Jordan, Israel and Egypt over 7 months. I was back in Turkey (Antalya) in 2006 for the total solar eclipse. I was actually planning a visit to Gaziantep in mid 2022 to see the mosaic museum before going to Kars to visit Ani (no photos were allowed in 1986 as it was close to the Soviet border) so will try the dishes you mentioned. Interested to taste the kunefi as we (the wife and I) has superb kunefi in Amman (Jordan) in a tiny alleyway in the centre where you queued, ordered, paid, got a receipt and collected the goods, sitting with the locals to devour it with a chai. One night a group of students paid for ours as we were "guests" in the country. I see you've tried the Uyghur noodles - that's another place on my list but I did have their cousins' version in Osh (Kyrgyzstan).
You are definetly right place in the worl, this place amazing most popular food in world ohh men , i wish to be there
I am a big fan of liquorice drink. Everyone who tries it first hates it. However, after you get used to the bitter taste, you start tasting the sweetness that comes in the end. It's almost like durian. You either love it or hate it.
ಅದ್ಭುತವಾದ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ವಿಡಿಯೋ ❤️😍 amazing and beautiful video ❤️🌹🙏
Love this country ❤
Cheers luke and sabrina

you have to come turkey and try kunefe man
ua-cam.com/video/Tinq7MZRLCs/v-deo.html
You gotta drink liquorice drink in one try or else it will taste bad :D
As a Turk I tried meyan once and never again. It is kind of a popular drink in the southeast of Turkey. You won’t see it anywhere else.
It is one of the healthiest drinks in the world but same as all healthy things it just tastes terrible..
