After this, we're trying the local street drink, a sweet and bitter licorice drink made by a local man in the traditional clothing! The drink is called Mayan Koku
Shop name: Hançer Ustanın Yeri
After this, we're going to try a special local dessert, the Antakya haytali!

Thank you Trevor! My girlfriend and I have been watching you since 2015. You never cease to entertain us with not only the best content, but also the best heart :)

Wow. I have never seen two people so proud of their craft as those two gentlemen with their humus. I wish I could taste. You're such a lucky person to be able to experience it Trevor!
Jerry Seinfeld is from this region between Syria and Turkey, infact his mom stayed in this city before migrating to US. I wonder why he never went back to enjoy all these foods? Im sure Jerrys mom must have food from that 1660 Restuarant
LOLL THE TURKISH DONT KNOW ABOUT HUMUS ITS ARAP FOOD SO MOST OF THEM DONT KNOW ABOUT IT
@@asco2118 But Jerry Seinfeld is Syrian Jewish arab
@@asco2118 Although it derives from the middle eastern region we Turks also know and eat Humus and Fava (made from broad beans). What is Arab food? Israelis are older than Arabs. So I then it must be Jewish food in the first place :D.
@@asco2118 There is no Arab Food, its all Jewish.
I live in America, parents are syrian, and was just in Turkey a few months ago. Im so looking forward to watching this video!

that hummus presentation is artistic bet it taste super fresh
It has to be one of the country with the most extensive cultural exchanges for the longest time. It helps a ton with that.
@@Deira854 Jerry Seinfeld is one of my favourite stand up comedians. I am so happy to hear his mum from that area ( though I am totally from the opposite place, including food but Turkey ) That would be amazing of him to visit the area. I hope he will.

Assalamualikum.Nadim usta's family is a incredible humble person with his special gift. Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇹🇷
Wow. That hummus at the end looked so wonderful. And, that hummus master and the other staff members looked so happy to be showcased on video. They exuded warmth and pride. It would be a joy to patronize a spot like that. Where history, enthusiasm, and artisanship result in great food such as that hummus.

I think what's amazing about Turkish food is that it incorporates Arabic and original Turkish and Persian and Greek and Caucasus and Balkan traditions together and then in turn Turkish cuisine influenced all these other cuisines.
argree!
Exactly!
Not greek
Yunanlilarin ne mutfaği varmişki hepsi bizden gitme
Turks other than their own food, also get some inspirations from other cuisines and never make it the same, they make lots of Turkish touches on them and make them to another level, and other people from those cultures come to Turkey to just eat these food.
As a Turkish i can proudly say we are the friendliest people, we love foreigners and visitors. Even if we cant speak English, we will make up English for you so you feel at home.
One of my dreams is to visit Turkey … and now , go to those delicious places Trevor went by and enjoy the beef preparations , creamy hummus and other foods Trevor enjoyed! They were all

Amazing Turkish Food. Thanks for this video.
My family migrated from Turkey to Syria around 1800. Around 1890 my grandfather went to Beirut and met and married my grandmother and ended up in the US in 1899. I want so bad to go back and visit my families homeland I can't stand it and watching this video made it worse.😉 All that food is what I grew up eating OMG HOME FREAKING SICK!
