The best version I found so far. I love Ms. de Niese's interpretation and the setting, it's incredible.

I totally agree with you! She is wonderful yet so many opera fans are so cruel in their assessment of her gifts.
Without a doubt, people hold her beauty against her. Prejudice comes in many forms.
Me too! I find her voice more than pleasant and instantly recognizable. It has a plenty of volume (for her repertoire) and is agile enough. Her very top range (when she got adventurous with da capo ornaments in Handel) does sound strained, but in general, I think she's more than respectable. I think all the media hypes around her and her pretty face actually damage her reputations as a serious lyric singer.
I LIKE her voice. I don't know why ppl don't like it. I'm curious though why ppl think she doesn't have a good voice though. Please post your reasons. Perhaps her voice isn't as full and strong but she definately forms beautiful vowel, especially her [a] vowels

Ik heb alle drie de ensceneringen live gezien en de Don Giovanni vond ik verreweg de minste. Jammer voor de zangers, zij konden er weinig aan doen. Così vond ik een feest, met name dank zij Sally Matthews (Fiordiligi), Luca Pisaroni (Guglielmo) en Danielle de Niese (Despina).

I would totally love to hear your reasons for why you think she needs a few more voice lessons. I think all singers should continue to study regardless of success, so I do agree. But really, what in your opinion does she need to work on?

i understand that it's a full production, but just based on the style and look of it, it looks cheaper, in my opinion, than what I usually expect from a full production.

Why would you think that? It is a fully staged production, but only a couple of scenes appear here at UA-cam.

that laugh is so ironic hahaha gosh, loving it, still could be better, her voice and acting was soooo great, but I know wshe can give much more xD
beautiful woman, nice voice, clear and full, she moves well on stage (such a horrid stage, by the way).
her pronunciation is excellent, one does not understand she's not italian but she could work on it even more to express the full meaning of da ponte

Ik had deze op tv gemist. Alleen de Don Giovanni had ik helemaal gezien. Ensenering van die don giovanni was niet helemaal geslaagd. Ik heb ooit Mono della luna van Haydn gezien met opera zuid. Daar zaten ook van die "foutjes" in (je kunt achter op het toneel niet sync met het orkest komen. Maar die voorstelling overtuigde verder wel. De don giovanni was soms zo inconsequent, dat die regie niet overtuigde. Volgens mij heef danielle geen stemlessen meer nodig hoor... (otterhouse) Rolf
Why Despina seems like a mistress and Fiordiligi and Dorabella seem like maids? It's the opposite! weird! :s

The voice is indeed not very good... I like her videos more than audios, because she is a good actress and has charisma.

She doesn't sing with ease. She makes it sound hard. Its not that she isn't talented, she obviously is. ITs just her technique isn't as strong.
She needs a few more voice lessons.
