    Thanks for this vid. I followed your KYB fork vid as a refresher for doing the '09 YZ250F forks that I put on my '05 YZ125, and I'm about to use this video for my buddy's '23 CRF250R that has been leaking lots of oil from both fork legs for the past couple of months. I'm gonna go ahead and replace the seals and bushings for him as well. Tempted to try the ATF in the outer chamber, but all I've got is regular non-synthetic SuperTech Dex-Merc ATF. Got some Maxima 10W fork oil for the inners.

      Hello. I do think regular transmission fluid will work the same. I think the biggest difference would be the smell lol. The synthetic stuff doesn't smell that strong and the regular stuff can smell like transmission fluid pretty strongly. Otherwise the properties are pretty much the same between regular and synthetic and both should work the same.

    I have a 19 450L and rebuilding forks now (mainly just seals) but i got the 10 weight honda fork oil. I am only 150 pounds but its a supermoto so i figured a lil heavier would be better.

      sure thing. Worse case if they end up being over dampened you can always dump it out and change to thinner oil.

      LoL. I will as soon as a set come by that needs it done. But meanwhile I do have a KX450 fork video that are just like the ones on the honda that can get you by if you need to change some seals and bushing. Probably cant help you with the helicoil, I honestly have never even put a helicoil in lol

    Nice video,quick question on my yz450f 2020 I need to fit new throttle cables, do I need to take of the hole airbox assembly of , ? Thanks

      @UpAllNight91  Рік тому +1

      Thanks! Oh man I dont have a 2020 here to look at and cant remember but I know on my 2015 I could maybe replace them with the air box on however being they are throttle cables I would just remove the air box so I can get good access. I would want to make sure they are in good, routed well between the frame and rads, and all that.

    This is a really nice video! Thanks for walking us through it.
    Unlike you, I cannot get the fork bolt (i.e fork damper) back into fork damper tube like you did. I push down hard on the cap until the threads are close, but if relieve any downward pressure to get my wrench, it pops back up. I have pushed hard and tried many times but can't get the threads to engage Any suggestions?

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91  9 місяців тому

      Hello. Have you tried compressing the dambener assembly fully while pressing the cap down (to push all extra oil out the little holes up top). Then let the dampener rod full extend and try pushing the cap down and threading it in?

      @@UpAllNight91 I followed the guidance in the manual which does what you are saying. I as able to eventually get the cap back on but man, it was difficult. I bruised my hand pushing on the cap so hard!
      The forks are way to stiff for me so I am going to contact a suspension expert and let them tune the forks for me. Thanks for the reply!

    hi do you use the trans oil in the outer camber on showa forks like you did in the KYB forks?

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91  Рік тому +2

      I often do. But with these forks the owner wanted ss19 in both inner and outer. But I have used ATF in the outer on my own hondas and others. It works just as well as on the KYBs

    Hi, for a honda crf 250 r 2019 how many cm3 in inside chamber and how many in outside? Service manual write 343m3 it refers only for outside chamber?
    Do you replace also oring and slide bush ?

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91  Рік тому

      The inner chamber amount is usually nothing to worry about because any extra amount in there will come out on its own during the bleeding of the inner chamber. This is probably why the manual only mentions the amount on the outer chamber. You don't have to change the o ring and bushings if they are in good shape, but it never hurts to change them out while your in there

    If my fork seals leaked a little bit after my last muddy race can I add a tiny bit of oil in the top to get me through til the next service?

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91  11 місяців тому

      If you can guestimate how much fluid you lost you can replace it through the top bleeder hole. I have done it before but it does drive me craxy not knowing if I have the level correct or not. Usually prompting me to just service them as soon as I can get to it.
