    Dude!!!!!40lbs is ducking huge.
    Few years ago I dropped 5lbs and couldn't believe how much that little difference made. I can only imagine 40lbs

    Makes a huge difference for sure. I thought I needed a better bike with my Devinci Riff, then I started doing DDP YOGA, lost 30lbs gained a ton of muscle, dont need a new bike. 10 minutes every day in the morning, easy workout, then followed their easy schedule it worked wonders for my biking and myself overall

    Congrats on the weight loss and lifestyle change.
    As for bikes. It's never the bike it's the rider. There are countless UA-cam vids on professional riders, riding downhill courses, or trails on gravel and road bikes.
    It's rider experience, skill and fitness level.
    I have been on my first real trail ride this past weekend, and after an hour, I was done. So out of shape myself, got to get into the gym myself.

    Hey Toogy , Great topic and content , I like how you touched on going and buying a expensive bike etc going to make you feel like a great rider and gain a false sense of confidence. Not to mention we could get injured 👍😎

      @ToogyHowser  3 місяці тому +1

      yeah there is that too! Bigger more capable bikes certainly give you a false sense of confidence!

    Man, you lost more weight than your bike weighs! Super cool!

      haha I never thought about it like that, but you're right! I was literally carrying an Enduro bike around in extra weight! No wonder I feel better riding now!

    In the past, I never carried tire plugs on rides, and had never needed them. I'm not sure why, but I decided to start carrying them this year. So far this season, I have had 3 different rides where I've had to use them (all on different bikes and different tires). If this keeps up, I will have to order more "bacon strips" soon.

      haha, like I said I've never had to use them, and I'm sure the first time I do have to will be interesting as I really am not that sure how they work haha

    My new bike came with the Vee Flow Snap 2 29x2.5 and yes(!l) they are heavy. I love the tread, but they are beastly heavy. Likely I will swap them out in a couple months. That Marin is a nice bike! Good to see you keeping you channel active. Been enjoying your content since 2020.

      yeah the Vee tires had great grip, no complaints there but just SO heavy. I can feel the difference with these new tires.

    David from mtb academy like him or not speaks the friggin truth, whatever the number or parking lot clinics or skills vids you watch you can't do none of that having fun with a weak core. It's pretty simple, fitness is the number 1 improvement you can do... A 10k yeti isn't the solution guys 😂
    You sure that bike isn't a bit small? 😅 I rarely see a 200mm dropper being so high!

    • @ToogyHowser
      @ToogyHowser  3 місяці тому

      I don't think the bike is too small at all, it's an XL, I'm 6'2" I think it's just a really low top top on the Alpine Trail.
