Man, their blue is not an Ontario blue! Awesome that you even put yourself out there and the honesty. Good to see as some people would only post the highlights!
Well done @ToogyHowser!! Don't worry too much about the sound. We know that is part of racing because you are going fast. I was clapping with all those people on that climb. I felt the burn in my legs. I need to get on my bike and ride. It has been far too long for me. Thanks for the video. All the best, BostonDon
@@ToogyHowser honestly it was more insightful than race run ramblings haha. It would be really difficult to say something meaningful and concentrate on a race
There is nothing to be disappointed about. You hung through the entire rice. You will come back stronger next year. A good tip for next year pack some gel boosters or small power bars you can take on the climbs. Gives you some much needed extra energy boost as the day progresses.
As someone who moved to Ottawa from SW Ontario I feel your pain. It took a long time to get used to the rock. Funny note, Giap is a climbing trail if you can believe that. Well done.
Wow! Well done! I live in the area and find the little bit that I have done of Camp Fortune to be very difficult. I had a pretty big crash there a couple of years ago on an eMTB. Again Kudos!!
Very challenging for sure. Riding blind & Enduro race is never a good combo. Taking the walk line is the right choice if your unsure. More time on trail is the only thing that matters & makes you a more skilled rider and yes, in Ontario we do have trails that can prepare you for these QC trails but it involves a bit of driving and lots of re-riding... Stress less, ride more.
@@ToogyHowser you need to check 3 stage for the technical downhill and climbing.. Hafta and Kelso for shorter punchy trails with hard tech, climbing and descents. Lots of reps through the trails to develop your tech skills & stamina. Then you should feel a huge confidence increase & the ability to translate your talent to other unfamiliar trails.
Loving the race related content! Heard at the end you said you'll do it next year..so I'm assuming you aren't doing any of the other races in this series?
haha, yeah I've heard that about those trails! I'm actually way better at climbing than I used to be, but man it's still hard climbing up a mountain and then RACING down it over and over again!
Excellent riding...

Great vid dude! Really enjoyed the commentary!
Thanks Dude, it helped cover up the terrible GoPro audio lol

Keep it up! You definitely look a lot stronger on the bike and confidence is higher. Keep getting faster on practice days and bring it into the races!
Thanks man! I am feeling much more confident on the bike lately!

yeah good ideas! we were able to go back to the truck in between runs, so that did help with refueling.

yeah Tyler was telling me that Giap was a climb trail during practice
Good video. Good riding.
Thanks Rob!
Oh man! HUGE congrats for completing the race. That looks extremely difficult.
it was pretty tough!

yeah Camp Fortune is no joke! So rocky and technical
Congrats on completing the race. Really, who cares what place you get. You did it!!
Thanks man! yeah the number one goal was just finishing the race!
@@ToogyHowserThinking about signing up for next year's race. Like you just to do it
That looked like butt puckering good fun !! Good riding Toogy
It certainly was! Thanks!
Nice man, I hope I can get to Camp Fortune for the first time this year. That looked like a lot of fun.
Thanks! yeah you definitely need to check out the place, it's fun and WILD!

yeah, I guess I meant more Southwestern Ontario. I don't think there is anything within 2-3 hours of where I live that compares to QC

yeah it really is nerve racking!

nah, they are all too far away unfortunately. If they were closer I'd really like to try!
"We're not used to the climbing" come ride with us in the Dundas Valley a bit more! climbing is all it feels like we do 😅 Super fun video though dude!

@@ToogyHowser for sure... i only ever did on enduro at horseshoe and DNF'd after my rear hub shredded putting me in neutral 😢
What is your next Enduro? and chance of some DH action? with respect to the window noise i go this foam cover for mine, blocks all the noise.
No races planned officially, heading to Killington and maybe another east coast bike park next week for some sick DH!
@@ToogyHowser enjoy! Killington is on my wish list.
Nicely done. Might join you next year. Hit me up whenever you want to hit the Don!
Thanks, yeah you should try it next year! And yeah I gotta try and make it back to the Don soon
It “sucked” but at least you did it, thats more than a bunch of people can say
Thanks! and you're right!
