I swear, every time I see Miyamoto, I think he looks like the nicest guy in the world. I feel like he's one of the last AAA developers who is still in this for the sake of art and fun.
He always seems to want to make a good game first and to get his paycheck second. He does it because he enjoys making fun and enjoyable games and less of it being his job at nintendo. When he goes, it will be sad to see him leave, but at least we'll know that he was one of the greatest game designers out there and that EA and Bethesda... can go to hell.
Wow, they must think very highly of your skills as a Completionist if they believed that completing Breath of the Wild was impossible until they met with you.
The best part about this interview is the strong impact that Jirard is leaving on Aonuma and Miyamoto. It's very likely they will remember him and his passion for the series. And I think that's pretty special.
Aonuma and Miyamoto met a guy who has played ALL of the games they've worked on in the series and has completed ALL of them to the max, with proof shown.
*J:* _"I gotta get EVERY, SINGLE THING in this game."_ *A:* _"Yeah, that's impossible."_ *- - Jirard shows them photos of his accomplishments - -* *A:* _"Oh man, you may be able to complete it!"_
I love how genuine Miyamoto and Aonuma seem. Most game developers and company faces hate doing stuff like this, and they look like they hate it while they are doing it. where as those two look like they are actually wanting to talk and interact with their fans. Aonuma just being like "nah fam, you ain't completing it 100%" then at the end after showing them all that, which Miyamoto looked elated about, Aonuma was like "ok shit, maybe ya can". I've always loved that about nintendo, they really do care, despite all the shit they are given. They always seem like they want to give their fans the best they have.
It could also mean that you might have to choose between different quests, without the possibility to go back to an earlier mission. Kinda like a few games from the past like DRIVER on PS1.
Shibby Well Aonuma wants to push the scope of BotW as a NEARLY impossible game to complete fully, or maybe there are aspects that ARE random in nature, but there's still a quantifiable 100% in the end nonetheless.
An absolutely wonderful interview! First I've seen from this channel and I'm now subscribed, it's refreshing to see such a humble, honest and genuine content creator here on YT. Keep up the superb work! I'll be looking forward to more uploads to come.
They did later say that Jirard might actually be able to do it. This is the guy that completed Dark Souls (1 and 2), Sonic 06, and even Skyrim. I just gonna say it; If Jirard can't complete Breath of the Wild, than it really is impossible.
Wait, I didn't understand Aonuma at that point. Does it mean that it's impossible to complete Breath of the Wild in a week at 100%, as Jirard does, or that's impossible to complete it in general?
ecylisis Thank you very much! It's great to have an answer from someone who understands Japanese. :D I love complete a game, especially a TLoZ game, at the maximum 100%. This time will take "a little" more time than before... Haha! :P
It makes me happy knowing These Nintendo veteran game designers and creators take time out for UA-camrs. And I mean genuine fans, not just typical mainstream old style gaming media. It feels like it makes it more relevant than ever to keep online video streaming services going as a resource for official interviews and news stories
Gee that interview gave me all of the good feels. The passion between both you and the two greats was tangible. I couldn't help but smile :D Thanks Jirard
Also, holy crap, 300 people working on it, and all of them potentially running through the game for a while to make sure everything works right up to that point in development? That's some pretty thorough QA testing!
I`m now imagining Link waking up, divorcing Ilia, coping with his hundred year midlife crisis by practicing karaoke and finding treasure while avoiding moblin Yakuza.
Hey Jirard, I hope ya see this message. This video was amazing and thanks for giving us the chance to join in your opportunity to sit down with these 2 amazing men. The part where you showed your completions of every Zelda title was fantastic to see. I'm sure they were taken aback by it. When you said that from all of us gamers that Zelda has changed our lives it literally brought me to tears. How true that is on so many levels. As a 33 yr old man, my childhood up till today has always contained LoZ and LttP is my favorite game of all time. It shaped my style of gaming and strengthened my imagination growing up. It taught me to be brave in the face of adversity and to never give up on tough challenges. I proposed to my wife with a treasure box with a picture of myself saying "It's dangerous to go alone, Take this" and her engagement/wedding ring is a custom hand crafted triforce. Thank you for expressing those kind words to the creators, and thank you for taking us along to do so.
I really think they underestimated you when you said you will be attempting 100% completion. I like that you could see how pleasantly surprised they were when you showed them how much youve completed. They seemed genuinely impressed.
yeah he does. what was it eum 70 percent of the ad revenue going to Nintendo and 10 percent for UA-cam and 20 you get to keep yourself ? I thought it was something like that.
Jirard : i been slaying games with in a week but im sure i cant defeated your game in that time but imma 100% it! Aonuma : bitch, first of all, that is imposible! hell if you wanna beat it so bad you can even go up againts last boss of the game at the start! Miyamoto : lel Jirard : alright i respected that but here let me show you my collection Miyamoto & Aonuma : well shit
I absolutely loved Aonuma's excitement when looking at Jirard's portfolio. That's a game developer I can respect, when he's clearly fascinated and pleased by a player's progress through the games he's made and helped work on.
Aonuma: "It's impossible to complete it 100%." Jirard: *Shows pictures of every Zelda Adventure* Aonuma: "Hmm, maybe you can do it." Just great. Been with the Legend of Zelda since I was three. Can't wait for this game.
I... just love the expressions they both give. They seem like the type of people who wear their hearts on their sleeves and it shows. I would love to just get one moment to tell these guys how much these games have taught me, and how many life values I've taken from the Zelda series. I cannot fathom how good it must've felt to talk to these guys, Jirard. I am envious that you got the chance and I hope that maybe someday I can too. I would very much like to hear from not just you, but I and many other gamers around the world that we appreciate all the hard work they've ever done for this series that without it, we'd all probably be different people today.
Seeing how a blue goblin takes away all your health in the starting area you'd probably have to memorize the boss's pattern to a T and not make a single mistake, 15 minutes honestly sounds far fetched.
You far underestimate the stubborness and skill of speed runners. If it's 15 minutes without exploits, played perfectly, it will be 5 minutes or less when the speed runners have had a couple of years to work on it.

i don't wanna sound like a weakling when i say this but when you said to them thank you on behalf of all player... I Got teary eyed... Zelda was as much as mario but zelda more so got me to feel the deeper parts of gaming and cope with many troubles in my life to play and enjoy and to take me away and go on an adenture and these men and their team made so many treasures and treasured memories for you to thank them is a dream come true. I feel you Jirad... Congrats on being a completionist and a youtuber... but Always having the heart of a true gamer..
I legit started tearing up when I heard the fairy fountain music. I love the Zelda series so much, and it was so cool that you were able to show the creators your completions of these games!
Wow this is truly incredible. You Jirard made this happen. All your hard work and dedication brought you to these special moments that you can share with hundreds of thousands of people all over the world. What I appreciated the most from this interview is that you as a gamer are the most qualified person to meet with Aonuma and Miyamoto and can share the experiences of beating every game that they made in the Zelda franchise, sharing in the journey they did. If it was anyone else they might not have believed someone would be able to 100% beat Breath of the Wild but you proved you are more than capable, which hardly anyone can say the same. I hope you continue to share such special moments in the future. It must be great getting a sense from the creators why they made the game the way it is and what process was taken to reach the final product. As a gamer you surely will appreciate and understand these games more than anyone else from the consumer perspective and I think that's pretty awesome.
They never said in this interview that the game can be beaten in 15 minutes. Just from the get-go, and without using glitches that'd likely take much longer than 15 minutes. Click Bait!
Seeing Jirard share those pictures with them just warmed me up inside, you can tell he's so excited to share those pictures with his heroes. What an amazing opportunity for an amazing guy, congrats Jirard
You can tell how star struck he is when he laughs. That's how I'd be! I have such respect for these men for creating something that has been such an important part of my childhood and now adult life!
Just look at how different Miyamoto and Aonuma react towards mentions of their fans (11:48 and 12:34). You can really see which of the two sincerely cares about us, and who only sees his own artistic vision.
Or they could just have different personalities?? Everyone has their own personality. Hell, if it was me I'd be like Miyamoto... I don't like being animated and shit, even if I love my fans, I'd show it through my work not silly ass hand gestures. No offense intended, but clearly Aonuma could just be a more animated person than Miyamoto.
Jirard i'm so excited about the switch coming out tho i can't buy it, my daughter is going to be born that day march 3rd and i'm very excited to teach my daughter zelda's world so what i'm trying to say jirard is thank you, hearing this answers from the person that made the game is like something i wouldn't expect so thanks a lot for this video keep being awesome
Aonuma looked so pleased with your completion catalogue of the Zelda franchise. You've come a long way Beardman. Looking forward to Breath of the Wild and your take on it
I'm so jealous, Jirard...but you deserve this. Thank you so much for producing such great content, and for being such an open, approachable, and inspiring creator.
The Great Majora I haven't really seen any evidence of potential glitches besides physics exploits. I can only wonder what gems the speed running community will unearth.
There likely won't be many easily-found glitches. Their development process sounds like it would've been very thorough in finding and ironing out bugs. Add that to just how many years they've spent developing and refining the game... and I'm betting it's one of the most stable games put out by a AAA developer in years. :P
Don't count on it. You have to remember that BotW is their biggest game, and a chunk of those years were making it for Wii U, before they decided to shift it to Switch. Skyward Sword took time to come out, and needed a patch when it launched.
ShermTank7272 Lol it probably won't be a big speed running game, you can take on the boss right from the start and it'd be more about skill at fighting and not speed running as such.
that tear-jerking last moments of this video is amazing, you can actually see a bit of tears of joy in miyamoto's eyes as he knows that he broght happiness to the world, truly thank you mr.miyamoto! so humble and awesome
I love the Zelda series so much really glad you took the time to express how much this series means to you and millions of others I wish I could tell them myself and show them my Zelda tattoos haha
I do believe Miyamoto and Aonuma were deeply flattered and honored for your Completionist journey. That one line 'you may be able to complete it' spoke volumes. You are the one to Complete them all, Jirard!! And I am one of MANY behind you on this journey. We will support you in this quest, and we, as a fanbase, will be SUPER PROUD of you even more when you get put into the Guinness Book of World Records!!
This is why I love Nintendo & Zelda. The amount of thought and concept that goes into the games is endless. And I love how kind everyone at Nintendo is, you can tell that Miyamoto and Aonuma are genuinely interested when he showed them he truly 100% every single game. Their company is always full of joy and innovation. The Nintendo experience is nothing Microsoft or Sony could ever be.
Oh Please Nintendo - I hope you release Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD on the Switch. And also do a HD remaster of Skyward Sword. All these masterpieces really deserve to be on the Switch too.
Peter Hansen if they release Wind waker HD or Twilight Princess HD, they should at least add on to the world size and make it bigger for more stuff to do.
The emotions that must've culminated when Miyamoto and Aonuma congratulated you on completing everything they've made for Zelda must've been surreal. The smiles on their faces was priceless.
That was beautiful. You know all of those emotions you said you felt while talking to them? I felt all of them just from watching this video. I really appreciate the amount of respect that all of you had for each other.
Great interview Jirard. I love how Aonuma always seems so happy and excited not only to talk about Zelda but to hear people share their stories and adventures with the series. Closing in on 20 years since his first Zelda game released and he still seems to have so much passion and love for the series, it's great to see. His reactions to your pictures were great to see as well, that big smile on his face the entire time.
Oh Aonuma, don't tell Jirard he can't complete something! Know he's going to drive himself insane trying to prove you wrong! Edit: 11:23 - haha, now Aonuma knows how hardcore Jirard is he's literally rethinking what's possible.
I almost came to tears when you were sharing your Zelda experiences. It was great to see the smiles on their faces. I can only imagine how you felt. And to hear him admit that you may be able to complete it was awesome. I don't know how long it will take me to complete it, but for how long I've been waiting for this I have to as well.
That moment in the ending third of the video made this video monumental. Super glad I didn't read the description or comments throughout the video. It is one of those moments best viewed unanticipated.
Jirard, those last few minutes of the interview were so personal. I loved it! I could clearly see the thoughts going through their heads at the end. I could tell Mr. Miyamoto and Aonuma were very touched. "Wow, look at what we've accomplished over the decades" kind of look. It must've been so humbling. I'm one of those millions of people. Good luck on completing it man! Looking very forward to watching it!
Roland Balajadia if u want to save money just buy a Wii u since it also coming out on the Wii u but if u want more than just breath of the wild like Xenoblade 2 and other than get switch
Good for you Jirard. I'm glad you were able to talk to and share your journey with those amazing people. Looking forward to watching your review of the newest Zelda. Keep it up man.
Years later, watching this, it's fantastic. The whole interview was enjoyable, of course, but I'm so glad you said that stuff to them at the end and you definitely speak for me.
It must've been one of the most incredible experiences for you to share those pictures with them, Jirard. Their reactions were awesome. Meeting those two remains on my bucket list.
I have literally dreamed and thought countless times about what I would say to Mr. Miyamoto and Mr. Aonuma if I ever met them. The Legend of Zelda even gave me the professional career I have nowadays. Man, you had the most important experience I could ever dream of in my life. I am genuinely jealous in a nice, healthy way and I am extremely happy for you. I have watched this video probably 5 times already. Thank you so much for sharing what I consider to be one of the coolest videos I have ever seen.
One of the best interviews to Miyamoto-san, and Aonuma-san I've ever witnessed. Anyone can ask for specs, and team size. However, your approach to their effects on us as gamers was awesome! Well done, and beautiful work!
I think I've been watching you since around 15,000, I can't remember exactly but to see you grow this much is awesome, getting to interview Miyamoto! It's awesome. Now let's get you to 1,000,000 subscribers.
Aonuma: Bitch you'll never do it Jirard: let me just pull out my collection and show you a little somethin somethin. Aonuma:.......Well shit maybe you can
Dude I was on the verge of tears when you were talking about LoZ changing lives. It truly has. I've played these games since I was able to hold a controller. OOT was my first 100% game ever! Just finished the 3DS version 100% as well!
I swear, every time I see Miyamoto, I think he looks like the nicest guy in the world. I feel like he's one of the last AAA developers who is still in this for the sake of art and fun.
Their reactions really show this. They really loved hearing he plays the shit out of their games etc. Not just money hungry
I feel like he is selfish and egocentric

That moment Jirard makes Miyamoto wipe away his tears. Incredible.
Im glad im not the only one that saw that, it really hit home to him :)
I thin he was just scratching his eye
Wait what?? When did that happen I didn't see it!!
Wow, they must think very highly of your skills as a Completionist if they believed that completing Breath of the Wild was impossible until they met with you.
Yeah, I love how they changed their minds when he was showing them his Zelda completion.
ikr
If Jirard can't complete Breath of the Wild, than it really is impossible.
Aonuma just thought it was impossible to do within a week. The subs missed that detail.
Shibby, your jealousy is showing .3.
My thoughts mirror yours. It made me happy to see Jirard make those two smile and laugh.

That's one of the biggest reasons I like Nintendo...
I am so jealous. Miyamoto created my favorite franchises ever.

What project robot? Lol jk
Crutch & Wheels Gaming Project music, duh.
Jeremy Seal he didn't create Zelda...

Shibby Well Aonuma wants to push the scope of BotW as a NEARLY impossible game to complete fully, or maybe there are aspects that ARE random in nature, but there's still a quantifiable 100% in the end nonetheless.
Let me clarify: Aonuma changing tack hints heavily at a quantifiable 100% state.
Aonuma meant that it was impossible within a week, not that it was impossible to 100% the game.
So, how many of you will attempt this Zelda Speedrun and claim your glory?

I just gonna say it; If Jirard can't complete Breath of the Wild, than it really is impossible.
You're kidding right? I've 100%ed every Zelda up to this point with ease. I guarantee this onell be the same.
Haha I'm just saying how long it'll be not that he won't do it! So confused at being so serious!
Haha! :P

And you achieve what for that rudeness?
You make me sick.
I mean I'm pretty sure plenty of people that work in gaming media are fans of video games, old style or not.
If you 100% this game and prove Aonuma wrong you'll be savage of the year
And beat the final boss too immediately after starting a new file. Just to mark off all his challenges and really show him!
In a week, that was the challenge, not just 100%
Shibby
In a week, you can't a 100% it in a week. There seemed to be some lost in translation happening between the completionist and the developers.
100% completion speedrun is 49 hours so it is possible within a week
Gee that interview gave me all of the good feels. The passion between both you and the two greats was tangible. I couldn't help but smile :D Thanks Jirard

Any% speedrun: several minutes.
100% speedrun: several days.
Thanks for this comment. It got a good laugh out of me :).
They went from "You won't complete it" to "Fuck, but maybe...."
Thank you for your heartfelt words, that's super nice to hear.
"Oh man, you may be able to complete it" lol
They never said in this interview that the game can be beaten in 15 minutes. Just from the get-go, and without using glitches that'd likely take much longer than 15 minutes. Click Bait!
the fact you can challenge the final boss without power ups right from the gicko i'm sure SOMEONE will beat the final boss within 15 mins.
It's "from the get-go" not "from the gicko" lmao.
Nicktendo 1 long ago there was something similar, the creators said that it would be beatable in minutes, so yeah, it would take prob around 15 min
hey, its a doggy dog world out there
Get out of the rejuvenation shrine, grab a horse and run to Hyrule castle. Easily under 15 minutes, considering the castle is in the plateau.
These interviews are you're premium completion bonus.
Congrats.
Just look at how different Miyamoto and Aonuma react towards mentions of their fans (11:48 and 12:34). You can really see which of the two sincerely cares about us, and who only sees his own artistic vision.
22neptun well to be fair this isn't Miyamoto's game
+Limbo Although Aonuma is the producer of The Legend of Zelda, Miyamoto was the one who originally created the series.
Eh........ I think you're reading into it a tad much ,but you live however you want to.
To be fair...miyamoto is the proud father of the franchise
Jirard i'm so excited about the switch coming out tho i can't buy it, my daughter is going to be born that day march 3rd and i'm very excited to teach my daughter zelda's world so what i'm trying to say jirard is thank you, hearing this answers from the person that made the game is like something i wouldn't expect so thanks a lot for this video keep being awesome
Dude, you, like, recieved an applause from Miyamoto and Aonuma. How's that for an achievement.
i love this. jirard fanboying over miyamoto and aonuma and them fsnboying over how dedicated he is and their game is just eek!!!
Aonuma looked so pleased with your completion catalogue of the Zelda franchise. You've come a long way Beardman. Looking forward to Breath of the Wild and your take on it
15 minutes?
Lemme make it 14 and we shake on it.
I'm so jealous, Jirard...but you deserve this. Thank you so much for producing such great content, and for being such an open, approachable, and inspiring creator.
Chances are glitches will make this time even shorter
Never forget the dedicated Wii Store app needed to fix broken Skyward Sword save files.
ShermTank7272
Lol it probably won't be a big speed running game, you can take on the boss right from the start and it'd be more about skill at fighting and not speed running as such.
To be completely honest, this interview made me tear up and laugh so much. Thank you!
This was a legit great ass video, good job on getting some unique questions to ask them.
that tear-jerking last moments of this video is amazing, you can actually see a bit of tears of joy in miyamoto's eyes as he knows that he broght happiness to the world, truly thank you mr.miyamoto! so humble and awesome
You shouldn't have told them all that, now they're going to crank up the difficulty on you.
Two legends and a sociopath.
man I love vids like this of creators and gamers interacting,I mean the looks on their faces were priceless. Thank man for the video
Oh my gosh, I'm so happy for you! Represent us gamers!
And don't worry, I'm positive you'll somehow complete Breath of the Wild. XD
That was beautiful. You know all of those emotions you said you felt while talking to them? I felt all of them just from watching this video. I really appreciate the amount of respect that all of you had for each other.
Wow... this game is going to be absolutely fantastic!
God I would love to meet Miyamoto and Aonuma. That would be awesome.
Its IMPOSSIBLE to watch this not smiling through the whole thing. 3 of the sweetest guys on the planet right there!
Yeah, even if you played the game 24/7 there's no way you're completing this in 1 week.
Ljink 96 it might be possible, but very hard and stressful
Magicpaper1337 He could..but his sanity would not survive.
That moment in the ending third of the video made this video monumental. Super glad I didn't read the description or comments throughout the video. It is one of those moments best viewed unanticipated.
Aonuma seems so fucking cool
Jirard, those last few minutes of the interview were so personal. I loved it! I could clearly see the thoughts going through their heads at the end. I could tell Mr. Miyamoto and Aonuma were very touched. "Wow, look at what we've accomplished over the decades" kind of look. It must've been so humbling. I'm one of those millions of people. Good luck on completing it man! Looking very forward to watching it!
I have a ps4 but I'm seriously considering getting the switch _just_ for breath of the wild
Do it.
Roland Balajadia if u want to save money just buy a Wii u since it also coming out on the Wii u but if u want more than just breath of the wild like Xenoblade 2 and other than get switch
Roland Balajadia do it
nytro2398 the Wii u is dead. They recalled them back. Have fun finding one.
Roland Balajadia dont let your memes be dreams- DO IT
Good for you Jirard. I'm glad you were able to talk to and share your journey with those amazing people. Looking forward to watching your review of the newest Zelda. Keep it up man.
I'd honestly would rather meet Jirard than either Miyamoto or Aonuma
I've met him twice. Highly recommend meeting him whenever you can. He's a fantastic guy.
When I eventually visit the US, I'll make it's during a con he's going to be at.
Ray Bee
Why?
Aonouma seems like such an awesome guy.
Years later, watching this, it's fantastic. The whole interview was enjoyable, of course, but I'm so glad you said that stuff to them at the end and you definitely speak for me.
It is impossible to complete? Challenge accepted.
You mean "accepted."
Burley Nelson no, he meant eggcepted
Burley Nelson Thanks, I figured I screwed that up. I'll fix it.
It's really nice to see three of my favorite people in the world sit down and talk.
lol speedruns will be like 5 seconds long
Speed runners will orgasm over this game.
It's cool you have the choice. I think the OG Zelda fans have been wanting an open world Zelda for a long time. I know I have.
Torterra Boy Not with the stamina meter implemented...
Jeremy Seal Everyone has.
Decaf 235 Yeah, that kinda sucks. It kind of works in Dark Souls but it was horrible in Skyward Sword.
I loved Aonuma's reaction when Jirard showed hum the photos, it seems like he was legitimately happy and proud and I love it
Good luck with THAT completion challenge. ;3 Still, getting applauded by the creators themselves... that has got to feel good, y'know. ^_^
It must've been one of the most incredible experiences for you to share those pictures with them, Jirard. Their reactions were awesome. Meeting those two remains on my bucket list.
Definitely. You're extremely lucky to have that chance Jirard!
It warms my heart so much to see how much it means to you to be with these people, and for you to tell them how much it means to you.
A speed runners wetdream.
The reactions between you and them is so amazing to me.
But you sit down with Miyamoto every day on Beard Bros
XD
One of the best interviews to Miyamoto-san, and Aonuma-san I've ever witnessed. Anyone can ask for specs, and team size. However, your approach to their effects on us as gamers was awesome! Well done, and beautiful work!
Aonuma looks so badass
I think I've been watching you since around 15,000, I can't remember exactly but to see you grow this much is awesome, getting to interview Miyamoto! It's awesome. Now let's get you to 1,000,000 subscribers.
Aonuma: Bitch you'll never do it
Jirard: let me just pull out my collection and show you a little somethin somethin.
Aonuma:.......Well shit maybe you can
Damrn, Jirard, you got me a dumb, but pure and sincere smile through all this interview, thanks man, i really appreciate it.
So youre just hanging out with alex and his friend? Thats chill
This was not only a great interview but an amazing video too. Well done Jirard :)
Why would you want to speedrun the only new and good launch game it comes with?
Kid Zarathustra it's about who does it first for bragging rights
Kid Zarathustra Open world games are the epitome of "It's the journey, not the destination, that truly matters."
Kid Zarathustra you can play multiple times, and some people want to be among the first to complete the game.
Bragging rights and the possibility makes it enticing. I'll be going at it straightaway, but after being owned I'll take my time.
Kid Zarathustra Apparently there's multiple endings so, you'll be missing out anyways.
The video was awesome! Thank you for the interview. The ending got me chocked up when you showed them your achievements.
You deserve that moment.
Still not faster than Metal Gear Ground Zeroes
Still not faster than Pokemon Blue
Still not faster than marble madness.
Dude I was on the verge of tears when you were talking about LoZ changing lives. It truly has. I've played these games since I was able to hold a controller. OOT was my first 100% game ever! Just finished the 3DS version 100% as well!
