I’ve had 3 vaginal deliveries with my ostomy! Thank you for sharing this!!! So many docs seem to have no clue and think a c-section is necessary, but I completely agree with you on avoiding more belly surgery and scar tissue!
You have got to be the Best spokesperson for Comfilie products or Any product… First time I ever watched an entire sponsored section! Love your detailed insight, positivity, integrity & speaking voice & Especially now that you & Zack are finally pregnant….Can’t wait to continue following your beautiful journey!!❤from Montreal
@ Honestly, you ARE are so wonderful to listen to, Any sponsor would be Lucky to have you represent them! I am a medical person and love listening to you because are incredibly informed on medical subjects but it’s your integrity and openness to share difficult subjects in such a warm, not scary, positive and constructive way that is So helpful & refreshing & reassuring. All medical professionals would greatly benefit from listening to you on how to better communicate with patients. I’m surprised not more medical product manufacturers are reaching out to have you as their spokesperson. But mostly, I am beyond THRILLED for you & Zack that you are pregnant… What incredible parents you will be!!! ❤️from Montreal
Im in it for the story line!!! ❤ I have just undiagnosed GI issues and I just found all your educational vids interesting and i’m so happy you’re pregnant !!🎉
I just bought 2 mesh bras! Breast cancer survivor and I struggle finding bras that are comfortable. Had mastectomy and radiation with reconstruction so skin is super sensitive. Can’t wait to see if these work!
What a blessing to have to change things around though, I am so excited for you and I can’t wait to meet her, you look adorable pregnant🙏🏼✝️🕊️☮️🎀🍼🩷🧸🎀❣️❣️❣️❣️
Maggie you gave me a very hardy laugh when you announced that Leroy felt like it was about to explode and then you said waitttt🤣. That is sooooo me with Oklastoma the volcano 😬. I always know because I get a two second warning of pulsating. Best wishes on the new adhesive spray ❤.
Permanent ileostomy here and my children were born vaginally without problems. I went up from 30mm to 70mm size during pregnancies. I used micropore tape around the edges.
I’m so glad you’re sharing information about your body and product changes needed. There’s additional help in some of the comments as well. Wishing you the very best! 💖
When my daughter was pregnant, she would play baby Einstein music and her first born is super smart. Like as I would call a sponge brain he heard a song being played on a piano and he turned around and was able to play it. Give baby Einstein a try. ❤
Just wanted to thank you for the tip on those bras. I bought the lacy one, and loved it so much that I ordered 2 more! You're right, I almost forget that I have it on!
Did your doctor recommend an induction at all? Mine suggested an induction at 39 weeks to hopefully avoid a c-section, and also to avoid a weekend delivery in the case that a c-section might be needed so there would be more colorectal surgeons on call to handle the severe adhesions
Hadn’t been watching regular- so, so happy for you and Zach- he’s an amazing man. I’m back to watching and catching up. Life got busy bse sisters cancer but she’s better so much better-
Covatec have a flange called the accordion flange which may allow the less flexible plastic coupling to lift up from the round belly without pulling off the adhesive around the stoma. Might be an option to look at it the problem persists 💕
The coloplast star one is called the Convex Flip. I love it. Something you might consider using is Safe n' Simple, Waterproof Silicone Tape, 2 inch X 15 Feet. You would put it on over the fabric part of your flange and overlap onto your skin. It helps keep things sticking ... and the beauty of it is that it doesn't hurt to remove and you can reposition it if you need to.
Thank you for that advice. I didn’t know of a tape like that. I had surgery rectum and left side colon removed. Back in 21 I am basically bused to the bags etc. learning what I can and can not do in my ranching job. Definitely will look into that tape. Thank you
Some hospitals will try at 21&22 weeks, more at 23 and all high enough 24 weeks. I remember when 26 weeks was viability! So crazy how technology is now.❤
I can remember, when it was 27 weeks (family friend was born at 27 weeks) then it changed to 24 weeks. A friend and their cousin. Their baby's were born at 23 weeks and 5 day's. One is now 8yo the cousin is now 7yo. Apart from being smaller than average. Both healthy now.
It's just amazing. I've had disease occur in my eyes but not a urater. However, the right kidney gives me grief, too. Your disease is much like mine and no hernias?!?! Lucky. My last major surgery was to relocate BB (stoma) and 3! hernias. I absolutely love to watch your life's story as it helps me to know I'm not alone. Looking great! ❤ Edit: When my hernia was under BB, I cut the tape itself, and it helped a lot. I also used the Ekins.
When I gained a lot of weight after my surgery, my abdominal geography changed and I had a lot of leaks. My ostomy nurse suggested going to convex flange and that made all the difference!
That adhesive spray is amazing, I was using the Adapt on by Hollister but since they stopped making it I had to find a new one. So when I saw you talk about it in a video I decided to try it and I’m glad I did! The first wafer that I used that spray on lasted from December 30 to January 15! I spend most of my time in bed due to my health so that could be why it lasted so long. I hope it helps your wafer stick better!
Hollister has a new one! It’s a “medical adhesive spray” and a million times better than their old one! Not sure what the cost is like for this one but the Hollister one is very affordable still IMHO! I glued my armpit shut with it once by accident…
Hi, I love watching your videos, they’ve been fantastic support as I’ve recently had illiostomy surgery. I’m very new to this but I nauturally have a rounded tummy while sitting, I’m a wheelchair user so my osteomy is higher and rounded. Two things that was suggested for me, a stoma belt to help support the weight so nothings “pulling”on the glue, and the other are elastic support bands, there like extra sticky seals that go overtop after my stoma is fitted the add a bigger glued down area and seal over the osteomy bags seal so have helped loads with not peeling off. I’m not sure how easy stuff in US is to get as I’m UK or if these would even help but it’s just a suggestion.
I have a granddaughter due around the same time your due. Moms having a lot of problems so it nice to know next week she will be viable. Prayers for both baby girls and their moms.
Back in my day. Early 1980’s 28 weeks was viability. I felt like I was sitting on the end of my seat till then. I promise, once you pass viability it helps mentally. ❤️❤️❤️ of course we always hope for full term. Nut once you hit that viability number it really helps. ❤️
I understand being happy at 23-24 weeks . My kids are now in the thirties. At that time 28 weeks gestation was the viability age. Now,with newer medical care babies have lived .
Maggie, I wear a convex bag for my urostomy and my stoma is not retracted or flush either. My tummy, though, IS round. I recommend trying a convex bag to see what that does for you. I'd start with the soft convex for better flexibility. Let me know if this helps. I know this may sound like a crazy idea, but I think it will work for you.
Had my ostomy for 9 years. I have the Barbie Butt. My Convatec bags are great for my stoma that is below skin level in one side. I get the silicone strips that you put around the flange. They keep the water out but don’t peel your skin off when you remove.
Hi, Maggie! I have a question about your is ostomy. Is it uncomfortable when you have to put on or take off the flange? Congrats again on your little one! I had to have c-sections because the bony projections inside my hips are too big. My son, Cooper got stuck! Anyway, a safe delivery is the best delivery, but I really hope you don't have to have a c-section. 😊💖
Ohhhh Mag loved watching you walk around so I could see the “Baby Bump” sooo much❤️❤️❤️ Your use to it but for us ohhhh my I could cry seeing YOU that pregnant!!!!🥰❤️ It’s sooo wonderful & you look for cute not just pregnant, but also with the baby weight on you❣️luv luv luv❌❤️❌❤️💝💝💝❣️
You can try using Attiva Flange Seal Rings It gives you some protection where the water doesn’t sneak under the tape. I cut mine in half so I can apply it closer to the ring and cover the tape completely with some overlapping
Have you talked to your ostomy company about being pregnant and if they have any suggestions or if they have products that might work better with a rounded belly? If they don't, maybe they should think about adding some. You look very cute with your baby belly.
Have you considered trying a sensura mio with flex coupling from Coloplast? I found that the flange moves with your body and doesn’t peel quickly from the skin. Congratulations on your little bundle of joy 😊
I am having my ileostomy removed April 4th I received my ileostomy in 2017. But I am inverted and the doctor isn’t sure if it’s possible that it’s even going to work. I have a huge hernia where my ileostomy is at and is causing to many issues the problem is after they remove the hernia they have to connect me back because try to keep the the damage from the outside of body will collapse the ileostomy and the only thing they can do is reconnect me. But I only have 1 /2 of a 1/2 percent so nothing but prayers are looking. Have my surgery at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville Tennessee.
Try the SALTS HARMONY DUO.. 2 Piece pouch.. It has little cut outs around the outside of the flange so fits better.. i have a hernia so my my skin is not flat & the Salts Harmony works on mine so should fit on your rounded belly..

If you should need a c section, I’ve had 2. Not that bad. I only needed Motrin for the pain , and I healed wonderfully. It was just hard to not lift things for a few weeks. Oh , I love your sweater ! Where’d you get it ?
I just had a hernia and a kink in my bowel with a ileostomy. Had hit done ten years ago now and just had it relocated to my left side. That was a process for sure . 🙏 For no hernias for you

Having delivered 6 babies, I can tell you the only actual birth plan is knowing you can't predict birth so you have that all set lol. I would think they would prefer you had a vaginal delivery if possible because you've already had so many prior abdominal surgeries and abdominal changes. Your bump looks adorable! 💗
How come unrelated question that maybe you could help me with I'm on dialysis and I have a dialysis peritoneal catheter and it runs really bad against the waistline of my pants and I saw that little kind of cup cover you had to go over your stomach so it didn't rub and stuff I was wondering if you thought that might work for me and where I could find it
Cute belly! So glad that everything is going well for you. Your skin around your stoma looks great...nice and clear. A very informative video. Good job! ☺️
Just a quick question for you! What was the name of that meal plan that you mentioned a few videos back? I look for that video but I can't find it and I really wanted to try that meal delivery service!
I don’t know if this will help anyone with an ostomy, but I have used Press and Seal plastic wrap to cover cardiac monitors, and surgical wounds while showering, with good results.
Hello and all the very best as that’s a bit of a dilemma and hope it all goes well and your way 😊take care and take care Hello to Zack for me as well 😊😊
My ostomy nurse think that the Coloplast Flex wafer would be better for my parastomal hernia so maybe they can work for you w/ your rounded belly. You said that you never had a hernia, how did you not get one?
Keep doing the pelvic floor stuff, as I've had three kiddos, had my youngest in 1996, I have to cross my legs before I cough hard or sneeze, to this day, lol.
You've gone from being self-conscious to being an actual bra model. That's not something small, that's a big step. Congrats.
I’ve had 3 vaginal deliveries with my ostomy! Thank you for sharing this!!! So many docs seem to have no clue and think a c-section is necessary, but I completely agree with you on avoiding more belly surgery and scar tissue!

Same! I watched the entire thing AND looked in the description! 😊❤
i had a vaginal birth with my son 48 years ago. no harm was done to my ilieostomy during the pregnancy or delivery.
48 years ago! That’s very encouraging indeed.
Was little baby moving around when you were in the bathroom because it looked like your stomach was shifting. So cute!! Congrats again and again.
I’m so happy for you! Can’t wait to see you as a mom! You’re such a beautiful soul; you’ll be great as a mommy!❤ 👶🏻❤
Your bump is bumping! You look absolutely stunning Maggie!
Oh thank you so much for the bra review. Finally someone made a real bra that works
That was very interesting. Thank you for being so open about everything. You are wonderful...and you will be a great mom.❤
When I first saw a video of you changing your ostomy bag, I clicked forward. Today, I watched it. You give such voice for those with an ostomy.
Im in it for the story line!!! ❤
I have just undiagnosed GI issues and I just found all your educational vids interesting and i’m so happy you’re pregnant !!🎉
My cousins granddaughter is 3, she was a 24 week micro preemie and she is AMAZING!!!
That is so awesome to hear!!!
I just bought 2 mesh bras! Breast cancer survivor and I struggle finding bras that are comfortable. Had mastectomy and radiation with reconstruction so skin is super sensitive. Can’t wait to see if these work!
Man your belly has grown. It’s crazy seeing how babies grow.

The Coloplast Flex wafer (the Star shaped one) was a game changer during pregnancy for me!
I love the updates every week
Congratulations on your pregnancy and I hope you end up having your little angel the way you want to
Permanent ileostomy here and my children were born vaginally without problems. I went up from 30mm to 70mm size during pregnancies. I used micropore tape around the edges.
I love how your face lights up when you talk about babygirl 💗 You've got the CUTEST baby belly too!
I’m so glad you’re sharing information about your body and product changes needed. There’s additional help in some of the comments as well. Wishing you the very best! 💖
You should def wear pink more often! Great color on you. Here’s to a happy and healthy remainder of the pregnancy 😊
I have put tattoo tape over the flange area to help keep it from getting wet and lifting. There are also rings that fit around the area.
So happy for you, you are getting closer and closer to your due date. 🎀🎀
When my daughter was pregnant, she would play baby Einstein music and her first born is super smart. Like as I would call a sponge brain he heard a song being played on a piano and he turned around and was able to play it. Give baby Einstein a try. ❤

Not yet but that conversation may come up soon! Thank you for sharing - that is helpful with planning for what to ask at my next appt!

Congrats Maggie!!
When I gained a lot of weight after my surgery, my abdominal geography changed and I had a lot of leaks. My ostomy nurse suggested going to convex flange and that made all the difference!
Having the specialist in there is a good idea. I had my a bariatric surgeon in with my GI surgeon when they removed my colon and formed the stoma.

Thank you for the video it is much anticipated. When is the due date for your baby? Does anyone know?
Maybe you can invent /patent an easy stretch ostomy dressing?

Can u take baths? Does it hurt when u changed it. How offen do u changed it
Your sweater is beautiful
Ohhhh Mag loved watching you walk around so I could see the “Baby Bump” sooo much❤️❤️❤️ Your use to it but for us ohhhh my I could cry seeing YOU that pregnant!!!!🥰❤️ It’s sooo wonderful & you look for cute not just pregnant, but also with the baby weight on you❣️luv luv luv❌❤️❌❤️💝💝💝❣️
Try pink water tape around the flange I use it.
You can try using Attiva Flange Seal Rings
It gives you some protection where the water doesn’t sneak under the tape.
I cut mine in half so I can apply it closer to the ring and cover the tape completely with some overlapping
I found the accordion flange always popped off bc of the added pressure when bag is full and needs to be changed.
I am so happy for you!
Thank you!!
Congratulations
Have you talked to your ostomy company about being pregnant and if they have any suggestions or if they have products that might work better with a rounded belly? If they don't, maybe they should think about adding some. You look very cute with your baby belly.
Have you considered trying a sensura mio with flex coupling from Coloplast? I found that the flange moves with your body and doesn’t peel quickly from the skin. Congratulations on your little bundle of joy 😊
I think I may mention in this video - I'm allergic to Coloplast! Thank you so much!
I'm not sure many Salts products are available in the US unfortunately!
: ) You have a LOVELY BABY BUMP. So Happy for You! You've become quite a PRO with the Ostomy Routine.
You look wonderful. I was allergic to coloplast as well . Gave me a horrendous rash.
Freddie Mercury from Queen died late in my pregnancy in 1991 his music was, on Radio and TV all the time plus, a Bsnd I loved.
My daughter would suddenly stop moving when they came on then had a boogie before settling again.

Amazing to watch what I was feeling inside me. 🥰💜X
Mine was wheel of fortune. It came on 3 times a day. My son could be fussy and completely quiet down and turn toward the TV when it came on.
I’m 59. I’m currently wearing plain non-underwires bra. After my surgery for ovarian cancer and chemotherapy I found undersides very annoying. When I have appointments what my oncologist or wearing the bright pink ones. I’m quite sensitive to the negative assumptions about older women. Even though it’s my underwear I want to havepretty things. I have own underwires bra in the past. Really Pretty ones. I’m going to try again since they don’t fit now. But I also want to try a non-wired bra pattern which seems to have great support. Again I can make with pretty fabrics.
As someone who doesn’t know you I’m really pleased for you that you pregnant. Best wishes.
I have type not anything close to your ileostomy but I have had 4 c sections due to my diabetes and large babies!!
I am thrilled for you both!👏👏👏👏✝️🙏🏻
❤❤❤looking so good mags
Thank you!! 🩷
If you should need a c section, I’ve had 2. Not that bad. I only needed Motrin for the pain , and I healed wonderfully. It was just hard to not lift things for a few weeks.
Oh , I love your sweater ! Where’d you get it ?
Love your videos Maggie
I just had a hernia and a kink in my bowel with a ileostomy. Had hit done ten years ago now and just had it relocated to my left side. That was a process for sure . 🙏 For no hernias for you
At the end of the day you have to balance the risk. An emergency c-section which might give less than optimal outcomes with your stoma and issues relating to that or, what might happen regarding scarring if you have the planned c-section. But then, if it’s an emergency you would have the double whammy of possible scar tissue with possible less than optimal outcomes with your stoma . you are between a rock and a hard place. But all with the end result of a beautiful bundle of joy 😊
What was the name of the spray. The one that was black can
How come unrelated question that maybe you could help me with I'm on dialysis and I have a dialysis peritoneal catheter and it runs really bad against the waistline of my pants and I saw that little kind of cup cover you had to go over your stomach so it didn't rub and stuff I was wondering if you thought that might work for me and where I could find it
Cute belly! So glad that everything is going well for you. Your skin around your stoma looks great...nice and clear. A very informative video. Good job! ☺️
The NICU even supports babies as early as 23 weeks here in Portland Oregon!
So cute you are with the baby bump
I always took my flange and bag completely off for showering. Also, have you tried those half moon shaped stick on wafer extenders?
I have! That was the idea I forgot to mention! I may cut off the fabric border and use some of the flange extenders (as they won't let water through)!
You look fabulous Maggie!
Wish the bras were a natural fabric. I'd try them if so.
Just a quick question for you! What was the name of that meal plan that you mentioned a few videos back? I look for that video but I can't find it and I really wanted to try that meal delivery service!
Territory Foods! I hope you like them!!
@LetsTalkIBD Thank you so much!!!💗
What is the purple thing on your door? You guys are so cute
You posted about pregnancy 2 months ago but in the title it says almost 6 months? How the time flew so fast
I don’t know if this will help anyone with an ostomy, but I have used Press and Seal plastic wrap to cover cardiac monitors, and surgical wounds while showering, with good results.
Hello and all the very best as that’s a bit of a dilemma and hope it all goes well and your way 😊take care and take care Hello to Zack for me as well 😊😊
I was not allowed to be excited about being pregnant, so your happy videos are so heatwarming!!! I love it😊
My ostomy nurse think that the Coloplast Flex wafer would be better for my parastomal hernia so maybe they can work for you w/ your rounded belly. You said that you never had a hernia, how did you not get one?
Unfortunately I am allergic to Coloplast so I am unable to use their flanges. I'm not sure why but I've luckily been able to avoid hernias!
Whos the lady on IG you mentioned? I'm praying to have kids one day, and I just love learning all I can having a ostomy there's so many unknowns
emc_brown is her username there!
Can you cut your current flange into a star shape so it lays more flat?
Keep doing the pelvic floor stuff, as I've had three kiddos, had my youngest in 1996, I have to cross my legs before I cough hard or sneeze, to this day, lol.
Have your medical team advised you to limit the amount of weight you gain with this pregnancy to limit the expansion of your abdomen, etc?
There was a lady with an ostomany who did ice baths she talked about using different products to help it grow with ur growing belly ❤
I remember her!! I will have to find her again!
What was the little bottle of the stuff you used you said had a steroid in it.
I believe it was Flonase. OTC in CVS. I used for allergiea
I haven't watched the video yet - but my assumption would be that you would want to AVOID a c-section to avoid additional scar tissue etc.
Why can’t you make the flange rounded over a bowl or an orange something that is about the same conjure
The ring that clicks to the bag is solid and can't change shape unfortunately!
