    I did 63s to my own Toyota Pickup, and gave you alot more explanation on the process! Watch this video before you do the swap yourself! ua-cam.com/video/OxoxFvdBnM8/v-deo.html

    If you do the 63s on your truck, would be a cool episode if you filmed that too and went into some detail on how you measured everything and made sure the axle was centered.

      I'll make sure to go into more detail on my swap. This one we where learning ourselves, so next time I will have alot more information to share.

      I did Chevy 63 on my old extra cab yota I used to own they were flexy but really long, have you heard of ppl doing rear f150 springs on Toyota's? I actually went through and did the f150 swap myself...and man I love them! Really good flex and departure angle is on point!

      @@boondocksoverlandandoutdoors How are you liking your F150 springs? I've read of a few people doing this after saying the 63's were too flexy. I think the F150's are a little shorter too? Like 57" I believe. Do you know the exact specs of your? I have a 94' ex-cab 4x4.

    i just started on the solid axle swap on my 93 yesterday. i finally said fuck it and chopped the ifs out before i changed my mind again lol... ive got 63s for the back as well, as soon as im done the front, ill turn the truck around and start on the rear. i can wait to get it out wheeling :) your dirt garage sticker will be on the rear window on its maiden voyage lol

      Right on! Hardest part is the first cut. I probably sat on all my parts for 6 months before I pulled the trigger and started hacking. Then by the end of that weekend I had a SAS truck. Happy wheeling! Tag me in your instagram photos with the sticker, I'd love to see it!

    1998 f150 2wd are just as good as the 63. The f150 is 57" and thay give you a better deparcher angle. But still awesome !

      thats what one of my buddies did. iirc, he ran them backwards so the short end was at the rear.

    • @DirtGarage
      @DirtGarage  4 роки тому

      Totally. I could imagine less axle wrap too. But 63s just give you a little more flex, and are basically everyone and cheap. Cory got these for free.

    Question for ya.... I swapped in the 63's to my toyota, and my ebrake cable rubs against the top leaf. Anyway around this? Id assume after not very long itll just let go from rubbing so much...

      Dirt Garage so he is running front TG 3 inch springs? My rig was SAS when I got it a few years ago, so I could have 3 to 5 inch springs front and rear, my fronts are nice and flat now, the rears suck ass and way under perform.

    I have a 94 ex-cab 4x4 and have been wanting to do this mod since my leafs are as flat as a door lol. But I'm a little concerned the 63's may have too much flex. I'm about to do a 2" body lift and put on 33 x 12.5's next week and want to order springs but kind of need some advice and help. I do use my truck for the occasional lumber run / gravel and tow a small boat or camp trailer on occasion too. So what can be done to stiffen these up or should I just go another direction altogether? I recall reading about a coil spring mod that can done to throw in whenever you want to stiffen up the rear and pull them out quickly for offroading.

    How far did you bob the frame? Im wanting to do this but my frame is bobed at the stock rear shackle. Wondering if i have the room..

    • @DirtGarage
      @DirtGarage  3 роки тому

      So the frame was bobbed right to the back of the shackle. Cory had to add a crossmember to the rear for shackle mount to rest on.

    • @dallintanner387
      @dallintanner387 3 роки тому

      You could try running a double shackle, pretty sure that allows you to keep the stock rear hangers.

    Anybody know how to get a 2nd gen level with the 63s? I have TG 3" in the front right now and those have WAY too much lift on them. The rear is sitting on 2" blocks and is still lower than the front and the front DL angle is way too steep. What front springs have y'all used?
