Hey guys, here's my failed at attempting to make my G-Shock even better than it is already. Oh well, you have to try these things in order to find. Won't give up though as I've found some other cool things I want to do. Thanks for watching and have a good one.
please don't see it that way... you just found a way not to make it better. it will becomes true one day, trust me sir. glad to hear you won't give up, that's the spirit. keep on modding sir.
@@zamSEG definitely, will be having another go in the new year as it's too close to the holidays now. But I'm excited to keep learning more about each aspect of this hobby
Wes. That button at 11 o clock is more recessed because that is the button that activates all mode changes. Thats to make sure its not accidentally activated. Good stuff Wes.
Put the tail through the first keeper like you did. Then go over, not through the second keeper. Fold the tail over and back in through the top of the second keeper and tuck it in nice and neat. The excess will be completely hidden when done this way. Hope you give this method a try. I think it's a sweet combo of case and strap deserving of another chance. 🙂
Great video. My first G-shock was the DW-5600 BB with a very stealthy design, negative display and without the amount of text that Casio usually put on. That one happened to became my work watch (not a good choice since I constantly have to press the light button lol). It has gone through some really tough shit at my work over the years, hence me always saying a G-shock is the ultimate field watch. Just rinse it with some soap or dishwasher stuff, and it's ready to go again. Then I bought a super cheap Sanda G-shock homage in metal finish just for the hell of it. Just recently I ordered another DW-5600 BB with the same stealthy look to wear in private. Of course I had to try if the cheap Sanda metal case would work on the Casio. And it actually did, if one uses the original tiny screws with some care! But of course the stuff you present here are of a superior quality. I agree though, that the keeper should've been more movable. I have a 6.5" wrist and really hate too long straps flopping around close to the other end. There's a place called The Cheapest Nato Straps. While the quality varies on their products, one good thing is that some leather straps can be ordered in shorter lenghts. I've had some success there.
Thanks for the awesome comment and its great to see another g shock fan. I'm with you there, I hate the excess that comes on some straps. And I do actually use cheapest nato time to time for leather ones.
hello sir, that recess button on 10 o'clock are puposedly shorter for accidently push because it is a setting button by the designer. that new strap normally people would just tuck it in the last keeper if it's to long or you could just cut to shortened it. i prefer the original strap (specially the gw5000 model version) more because it's quite comfortable & more hugging the wrist.
That's good to know it's intentional and unfortunately the strap is too thick to pass through the keeper twice. I did try cutting down but I messed up and it looked terrible so I ended up wasting it. But it was fun to try.
@@WesWatchRoom to bad for what happen sir. it just another lessons for diving into watches world. i hope you'll not stop this hobby because of that set back. i've also keep doing it eventhough almost 10 years in this hobby. i will keep onto this hobby forever...
Those lug adapters NEVER look right, I've bought some for my GW-B5600 and my GA2110, but they always look ridiculous adding lugs onto other lugs just looks SO WRONG, it's a BAD compromise.
Those metal shrouds are very cool I did one myself a while ago shame about the strap end links making it too big for you to wear, you better get into that cake diet you mentioned. 😆
They definitely are. I'm not giving up though, I think I'll be modding the strap and trying to make it a bit shorter. Should be fun. Or I could just eat loads of cake like I said 😅.
that button is indeed supposed to be smaller so you won't accidentally press it.. it's a poor design choice that wants to fix a problem that doesn't exist, but it is indeed intentional.
@@WesWatchRoom they only implemented it on this particular model, most other square Gshocks have all the buttons in the same size.. It was lone of the reasons I sold mine, the other being the faded display (that is significantly worse when wearing in on your right wrist).. It is the most affordable gshock, but in my opinion it's not that good oof a watch.. The budget Casios (like the ae1200) have so much better displays and easy to use buttons compared to the 5600e..

Thats the way they are, so when you put the bezel on, you can't press it accidentally.

Thanks Hector, and I've been told now, thanks for the info though, much appreciated.

Really appreciate the tips mate, I'll deffo give that a try. Cheers
You can cut the strap off the spring bar and reuse them and the converter on a nato or Zulu strap.
That's good to know. Thanks for the tip. Appreciate that.
I love how honest this was. Case looks cool! Don’t know if I love the strap
Yeah the case looks great, the strap is comfy but too big
Thanks for video and sparing me from buying the strap with connector
No problems, glad to help
Love your channel, man! I like your style, and the content is both informative and plentiful. Keep it up man! Budget watches are my kind of watches 😁
Thanks very much, really appreciate that. I'm glad that you're enjoying the content and I agree, budget watches for the win

Agree that the strap doesn’t work. Weren’t you meant to put the black screws in the new case?
It really doesn't, it's really comfortable but way too big and adds to much bulk. And yeah but I quite like the silver as it matches the pushers
I know the feeling to well Wes 😪 it isn't easy trying to do both at the same time and hoping you have it in fram
Absolutely, its a royal pain to do both at the same time. Need an overhead cam for it work better
@@WesWatchRoom yeah that true overhead 📷
I did one of the metal mods to my 5600 a couple of years ago, it’s practical and still looks fantastic.
Nice and yeah I wish I would have found it sooner. Just need a smaller strap now.
Try to used the MN aka marine strap..i think thats will be work perfect
That's a really good idea, thanks
which module is this one and do you know the dimensions?
Looks great 🔥
Thanks, just a shame about the strap
@@WesWatchRoom I had the same problem, I put a black garter on him to fix him 😂

You mean chop the end off? It's an option, but then the end would look tatty and frayed.
