The screw down caseback on a stainless steel case also make it feel like a “proper” watch. OK, now I sound (and feel) like a snob.
It is not worth it because the original all metal g-shock has a metal case & a screw in case back.. the moded dw-5600e has a plastic resin case which will become brittle & will break after a few years & the gasket inside the case back has an awkward shape that you can only get from g-shock retailer & hard to purchase & also the platic resin case will not hold up the screws that holds the case back after you change the battery it will eventually become loose thread & will never be water resistant anymore... It more like a disposable beater watch.. But the all metal will last more than your lifetime.. Just like the vintage original father of all g-shock the dw5000 the all metal g-shock is built like a tank & it is the REAL G-SHOCK... the plastic cased g-shock is like a toy disposable version of the real g-shock..
Short answer, yes. Only if you’re gonna wear it daily and it will be exposed to light most of the time since it’s battery solar charged won’t keep it’s battery for long
So I really enjoyed this video, however I cannot agree with promoting “g shock” labelled mod kits. If it was sterile then yes, but you are effectively advocating a fake watch. I’m not sure you would do the same for Rolex or Omega?
That’s a very good point, mate, and definitely something I probably overlooked when I bought the kit. I actually have the watch back in the original resin casing now, it’s my gym watch. And I think a sterile case actually sounds really cool!
I agree with you: to have label "g-shock" on the mod kit could be considered like not 100% fair. But from my point of view, such a mod cannot be compared to fake Rolex or fake Omega. You should compare it with modded Rolex or Omega, but not with fake. Because that's not a fake Casio wrongly labelled Casio. It is a true Casio watch first, then modified in order to look like to another Casio watch. Totally different approach for me. And even if you sell it, you are 100% sure that's not a GMW-B5000D-1ER, just because the screen is totally different (and you have the OG watch number on the back too). So that's not something fake, just something modded... Like you can see with for a lot of things (cars, bikes, ...) :)
@@riton2982 we will have to agree to disagree here, I appreciate the watch was once authentic and in some ways still is. The problem I have is that the parts used for the case and bracelet are appearing to be official g-shock parts when they are not. As stated above this could easily be avoided by using parts which are sterile. For what it’s worth this was not an attack on lume pip, I love his channel. I just think he needs to be careful especially with what happened a month or so ago with JOMW.
@@noelbeacher8016 Hi. I understand your point, and I agree that it will be better to not show the label "G-SHOCK". (I can suppose that if there will be only "SHOCK" engraved instead of "G-SHOCK", there will be nothing to say, right?) But even with G-SHOCK label, to compare it with fake is not really true from my point of view. Because fake = sold as true one. Mod kit are not sold with such meaning. They are sold as "modification kit". That's why there is a difference from my point of view, because at the beginning of the story, you buy a true watch. Then mod is a mod. Like a car modification. You can modify a Porsche 911 with an aftermarket Turbo fairing kit, that will stay a true Porsche... The problem will be then if you try to sell it as an official version, of course. But if you don't do it... (I'm sorry, but I don't know the history with JOMW)
Good video but mate did you really say "ive shocked mine in the gym sonif that dosnt throw it off nothing will?" 😂 gym isnt shocking the watch. Try doing some actual work 😂
This logic is like: Buying a Honda Civic DX then putting a V-Tec logo on the back of the trunk and AutoZone APC air filter and calling it a race car. Buying a made in Thailand Gshock is like buying a Dodge Neon, and buying a Made in Japan MR-G is like buying a Mercedes AMG.

@@noelbeacher8016 Man, you must be fun at parties.
Just make mod on cheap 5000 with resin case and youll get it same🤷
I bought 5000ss on the secondary market (for 100 bucks and bought a metal mod for 50 bucks - it turned out very cool
@@nikeich9 While its your money and life, dowutchalike. It best to either get the real deal or dont get it at all.
this goes the same way with girls with fake boobs.
@@ultimatedouchebag6760 bro chill, its just custom, if I change resin to steel, the world won't explode😂 Maybe you'll also start a war against those who put steel bracelet on the field watch?
