i dont think it is accurate to compare it with phones. first 2 or 3 years of the phone, the cycle (discharge then charge) happens once a day. With the kicks thi happens multiple times a day. probably around 5 to 10 times a day
@@GiuseppeHormigosUnless you use the EV only function it will not cycle the battery many times a day. The ICE will contribute more power to the motor instead of the battery at highway speeds. It will only turn off the engine and purely run on the battery if the battery is charged enough at low load scenarios like heavy traffic or complete standstill.
It's always exciting how the owners talk about the fuel efficiency of the kicks and I believe them. However, since efficiency is a financial aspect, might as well include an info on how long the battery would last (at least on the average and normal use) and how much to replace it (data should be available from Nissan) so that a more objective calculation could be made.
Hi yes they have promoted it heavily but where are the stocks. I’ve been waiting to get mine since I was among the very first to get a reservation at the recent PIMS. They said this event has a different waiting list, but will be assisted by the dealers. Kindly tell this to Mr Hoyos. I called their Nissan customer hotline but I have not received any reply coz they a 3rd party contractual employee so they need to relay the message to Nissan officials, it’s been months no reply showing no concern. Or am I a victim of dealer agents and dealers giving priority to their favoured clients? I hope this reaches Mr Hoyos. Thank you.
Might be good to add questions that answers what they don't like about their cars as it is something that only real owners can answer, this way, the content will be more valuable for us viewers. Also, (might be just me) I would suggest a tighter shot as people in the background can be distracting.
have they asked nissan as to how long the e-motor lasts? do we need to oil change the e motor and the generator? How to maintain the moving parts of the e-motor?
As a Nissan owner since 90s, both the legendary forgotten Nissan Sport Sedan the B13 Sunny/Sentra then the Nissan Bluebird Sylphy / Nissan Sentra N16, my N16 now is clocking near 600,000km and the B13 with over 800,000km, I do also want the Almera N18 facelift but the e-power is also interesting, and at the same time I don't wanna leave the Manual Transmission behind, I wish the kicks has the clutch even though its an EV…
I drove a nissan kicks non e-drive, just petrol model for 15,000miles (it was about 12,000 miles when I received). Fuel efficiency 30 miles per gallon. Acceleration and torque great. But after 20,000 miles on ODO the transmission isn’t as responsive as they used to be (oil changes and routine maintenance done as advised, every 5000 miles.)
I want to ask owners of Nissan Kicks regarding your experience in using the Nissan Kicks to and from Baguio and Manila. How is the downhill drive using the Kicks? Is it difficult to manage the drive downhill without a Sports Mode?
Got a few questions of which i have not got the answer after doing research. Since the car is driven solely by the electric motor and the battery and with a small lithium battery on board (i dont know how small but i thought i read in some non-PH post that it is less than 5kwh, can anyone confirm?), i see 3 concerns 1) The inverter/charger is stressed more vs the typical hybrid system (ICE + E-motor). What is the warranty of the inverter/charger? To add this also drives the AC and other electronics. 2) The small battery is cycled many times a day (more than a smartphone) so the life of the lithium battery is much shorter than a smartphone 3) The original Chevy Volt was using this type of hybrid and they did not continue, i am curious as to why and why Toyota still preferred the Prius type
1) Five years warranty for the whole e-power system as per Nissan ph website. 10years for the battery as per Nissan Thailand 2) Battery is charged at 80% capacity. According to Nissan battery degradation is at 1-2% per year. AC and other Electronics gets is power from the traditional car battery not from the E-power battery 3) Kicks E-power has been in Singapore Japan etc for the past 2 years. Best if you join the FB Groups related to Nissan Kicks SG and Kicks Club PH . Due the simplicity of the Series hybrid of Kicks it can push down the price compared to Toyota's Prius using Parrallel Hybrid which has a more complicated drive train thus the higher pricetag
this is terrible value with a 2 KWH battery, just get a gas powered Crossover similar to the Kicks. if you can wait, there is a legislation for 0% tariff tax on EVs only to be signed by the President. in other words, cheaper EVs to come that will be cheaper than hybrids.
Its been resolved, and replaced by nissan for the ones who bought their kicks earlier when it was released. Now, all the new ones in 2023 have no AC problems.
How will it handle rainy season? specially for longer periods of driving. In short, same lang ba ng other regular vehicles na nababasa ang Kicks since it's an EV Hybrid. More power Sir Joo!
its as costly as replacing a CVT transmission. so it all place out just the same , with kicks having a better drive. In general, the life span of the battery is the same life span of the car, 15 years. so it depends now on how owner take care of their car
Nice content. I think the big elephant in the room is the significant replacement cost of the e-power batteries that is due 3-5 years of using it (half a million pesos yata). It will outweigh the fuel savings cost. The sales rep told me that costing will possibly be lower should more units be coming in. But the e-power technology has been in the market for long so kind of doubtful about it. Can you confirm this Sir? Really want to get the kicks but this is a deal-breaker for me.
I am not sure where you got the info about the 3 to 5 years battery life but this is not true. Typical battery life is around 8 to 10 years similar to hybrids from Toyota. Since the battery is smaller in capacity, replacement costs will be much lower compared to a car that has parallel hybrid technology which uses a larger capacity battery.
