I have the 255 EXT and it kicks ass. Hoping it stays running good. Lots of mixed reviews for sent out bad units. I had to call in before and customer service REALLY SUCKS!!! they treat you like your an idiot!!! Manager is a real jerk to talk to and they ain't afraid to insult you!!! They also told me once you pull those covers off you void the warranty. WTH!! I was just going to paint mine black. Hate the GREEN.
That does look rather sloppy, it reminds me of candle wax at a bachelor party ...everywhere. On a serious note I do appreciate you taking the time to share the information..
I’ve had my 210ext for three years and worked pretty well until it didn’t, I’m at almost two months without a machine because they are extremely slow. The 5yr warranty was a big selling point for me but is completely useless if it takes month to get any progress on fixing you’re welder.
Hi Charlie, I agree with you, I also have the 210 ext. ; I went to do some practice one morning and no arc, not in any mode: Saturday evening worked great, Sunday morning, no arc. The unit is 17 months old, used for 3-4 hours every weekend for coupon practice ; worked great and really enjoy it. But, had to send it (per EL tech support) to TN where the EL service center is . $135.00 packaging, shipping , insurance. They should have received it today 9-24-2020. To be continued.
Dude don't feel bad when that was the cause of the first computer failure was an insect that why they to this day refer to computer issues as "Bugs". Good catch, if you need to clean the contacts you should use a Burnishing blade or fold up a thin strip of a Brown paper bag and run it between the contacts. It is coarse enough to Polish them without scratching them, never use sandpaper or a file.
I own a Everlast 200DV too and I also own a Miller Dynasty 210DX.It is an ok machine for the money that's about it.The Dynasty costs alot more and is a way better machine.Welding on AC with the Dynasty is way better than the 200DV.You get what you pay for.
Thank for watching I bought that machine for a specific job I had to repair a pool filter at a high school with 120 volt outlet worked after i got it working
I keep seeing this problem with imported machines. 1¢ worth of sheet metal to box those contacts in would eliminate that problem, and also reduce RF interference from the HV start by acting as a Farady shield. Why don't the manufacturers do this?
Thats not worth of qc passed sticker... thanks for uploading this as I was just heading towards buying everlast, now desided to order other brand tig after reading yours and others experiences online. The hv unit inside is more china than professional with open contacts etc. Thats not what you expect in this price range...
Granted, this stuff happens on anything, especially a Chinese manufactured machine... but what you said about the customer service response is enough to make me spend the extra money for blue.
Do you still use the DV200? Before sticking you hands in the exposed electronics did you give it some time to de-energize capacitors etc. ? Just wondering in case I ever have to do the same thing if I buy the same unit from Everlast. Thanks
PB:: my machine has quit working Company:: is your machine plugged in? PB:: 🤦🏻♂️😖 Isn’t the company calls about a unit that isn’t working or not working properly just grand? Nice find my man!!
Mike Baca: That makes no sense because EL encourages DIY repair. I'd say that kind of stuff is to mark that a procedure (like setting that gap) was done, or that a bolt was torqued.
I’ve here great things about Everlast welders and they are the only welder with a five year factory warranty I love mine after I got it working properly
What were your symptoms when it wasn't working? I tried using my 256 for the 2nd time last night in TIG and it wouldn't do anything when the pedal was pressed. No gas flow and nothing else either.
Good fix, you got lucky this time.... I looked at those machine before I went HTP.... Then I found this. ua-cam.com/video/ggiVoLQkkvA/v-deo.html That was enough for me to run away.
@@pbmachines972 We wont hold that against you. Miller is seriously expensive. If I earned a living from this stuff, I'd bite the bullet. If you ever get a chance to sit down with an HTP, try it. I have the 221 and weld steel and bronze. The Italians make some really nice electrical stuff and it wasnt much more $$$ than the everlast. I tried the Lincoln tig and found the arc to be harsh.
Just out of curiosity why do you say that? Only reason I'm asking is cause I was on a post where I gave my 2 cents worth on everlast. Usually cheaper isnt always better. The owner of the company and someone else told me even though I never used a everlast I was pretty much stupid and didnt know what I was talking about.ive read there customer service is horrible.

Figures I got that one but I have to say I’ve been using the shit out of it works awesome in every mode I’m getting a bigger one next
Thank you for sharing, I'm having issues right now, won't even make an arc. It's struggling with hf noise

That’s crazy!! QC needs to step it up! I just ordered MTS lightening 225 hope it’s good!! 🤨
How is it working

I have the same welder mine melts the tungsten in dc mode trying to tig stainless steel any fix on that ???
Good for you. It pays to be curious. If you didn’t do that, Everlast would have had you on the phone for weeks.

Unreal right?
the red stuff is anti sabotage check . tells if the nut was tampered with if broken will void warranties on machinery. its on all Govt equipment
Makes sense they were in a hurry and spilled it

Same issue with AHP.
Wow
EVERLAST owns AHP. I know, WOW.
Have you tapped or scraped your Tungsten?
My 200dv won't turn the gas off half the time when I'm done with a bead it's really annoying
I hear warranty is a bitch takes forever ✌️

High frequency wasn’t working gas was flowing just wouldn’t establish arc
Not familiar with that model make sure it’s in tig mode I’m sure you know that good luck✌️
Is it working fine now?
Yes and I love this little machine. The main reason I bought this particular welder is for welding outside the shop I can weld any metal anywhere 👍🏻
