I have a everlast tig that had a similiar problem also diagnosed over the phone with everlast support. Fix was to disconnect a electrical wire then re-connect the wire. This was the fix. Apparently wire connectors can sometimes need to be re-seated. I am very happy with my everlast as this was the only problem I ever had and it was when the machine was new.
I have a Lincoln 100 that I had about the same problem all I did was spray circuit cleaner down in the trigger. It worked. Hope this might help you in the future.
Recently got the 275 for the shop for tig, (tig has kicked ass) but gonna try the mig for the first time tomorrow for a small production run.. having a bad stutter issue with the millermatic 350p and need pretty welds for this project.
had a similar problem on my 251mts, the motor would stop intermittently for like a millisecond only while welding and I finally found the 2 contact pins on the qwik-connect coupling were covered in dust from an old roll of hardwire I ran through the machine.
At the beginning of 3:00 there is something caught in those drive rollers / gears! The one on the right side. Great vid! Get yourself a spare mig gun (name brand: CK etc. ) just in case it starts to occur once again. Very informative. Thank you.
Good that you figured it out. Bad contacts happen. Shouldn't, but does happen. To have a spare mig torch isn't a bad idea. Swapping the torch rules out the 50% of the problem. They aren't very expensive 😉
Hey great job troubleshooting the mig not feeding. I was wondering if you'd recommend the lighting mts 275. I ask as I am looking to buy a welder to use at home, and to hopefully start up a small shop at home with. I keep going between the mts225 and the mts275, and I'm not sure which rout to go. I figure if I go with the mts275 I won't have to upgrade later and I can always add cooler later as well if I land bigger jobs. What's your opinion is the 275 worth the extra $4-500CAD? Any help would be appreciated. I'm a welder fabricator building aluminum boats so the AC Tig feature really appeals to me! Thanks!
Has the mig feed issue comeback. I seen on face book other with the same issue. Do u know what fixed it in the end if its fixed. I am looking at getting an MTS275 but concerned on quality
i just bought the 275 mts everlast. why not just return it and get them to fix it or exchange it? gosh i really hope mine doesn't have problems.. please update how you are doing with it over the past few months....and exactly what the comments below are talking about for a fix..... or replacement... I am supposed to buy a different mig gun to go with the MTS? exactly which one is more reliable? thank you kindly.
Thanks for posting this video! I have had the MTS 225 for just over a year and it's having the same problem with the trigger but I'm also having other issues with the welder. I bought a $140.00 gas-less mig welder from Harbor Freight that works really well. Makes me wonder if I should have bought budget Mig, Tig and Stick welders in the first place. I see that you are a guitar player, Me too. do you have any video's on youtube?
I believe so. My best going theory is that there was some sort of debris in the trigger fouling the contact. That said, I didn't see it upon inspection. After I disassembled and reassembled the gun, it has worked well. I have had the machine since May. So far, so good except that one hiccup.
@@coveredjmstudio2306 Very good! Thank you I'll be ordering this very soon with the parker spool gun and the 82i plasma cutter. most of what I see is good stuff on Everlast so I'm sold.
@@imdeplorable257 I’ll be purchasing the 275 soon. I bought the 62i last year (Jan 2019) and am tickled with it. I have Miller mig now and it’s great but Everlast seems same quality more affordable price.
@@coveredjmstudio2306 It looks like a case of contact wetting or a poor switch design. I guess I'm not suppressed they are asking their customers to debug their machines. Microsoft has been doing this for years :). Switch design is not simple or obvious but buying switches without understanding how its going to be used will increase the probability of reliability issues. As I'm in the market for a welder update, I need to consider reliability as well as capability as well as the biz model. Everlast is one of the few factory direct companies so they do not need to support the "channel". Miller does hence there cost is higher all things being equal.
Thanks for posting this! I wonder if I'm in a similar boat, although my failure mode is 100% reproducible and very consistent: my feeder shuts off after about a second, 100% of the time: ua-cam.com/video/c4AR21rBYvM/v-deo.html

So besides the trigger issue, have you had any other issues with the welder? Im looking at the 275 for my shop.
so what was the cause of your feed issue? I am having the same issue with the same machine.
Probably didn’t have The whip tightened into the machine good enough or something along those lines

I had the same issue with my everlast 251si only used it 2 times before returning for warranty.
Did they replace it, or fix it?
i have heard that the package stuff and specifically the mig gun is cheap, and to throw it away and get a class gun.
I might consider that. I've been mostly using the TIG torch lately. I was thinking about upgrading that.
@@coveredjmstudio2306 let me know if you continue have problems with it. or anything about it. I plan to get a new unit by spring
