We had some microphone issues while shooting this episode. We have hopefully corrected them. Thanks for your patience while we deal with the technical difficulties!
I don't think there is anything wrong with your microphone. I noticed on the last couple of videos that when you use the pipeliner welding hood the sound is terrible when you talk with the hood down. No such problems on your previous videos with your regular auto darkening hood. I think the shape of the pipeliner hood mess up the soundwaves in such a way that your microphone can't cope with them.

I weld with hot glue does the 200DV do AC stick, and if so can you adjust the frequency? Bob recently did it with the AlphaTig 200 and it seems like with all of the features it might be handy

Hi Bob, Is the pulse adjustment for appearance only, or does it affect the quality of the weld? Could you make recommendation as to which unit is better suited to types of welding?
Mr tig, I’m looking to get a AC/DC machine, I’m torn between this machine, the200dv with nova foot petal and torch upgrade or the ck worldwide MT200 or I’ve also looked at the Lincoln precision tig 225. I’m not new to tig welding but by no means a pro. But I want something that will last a while. I do most of my work from my home shop where I have the ability to run 240. Just wanted your opinion and preferences between the three thanks.
I want a Tig ,as it seems much less chaotic than wire spewing out with my mig. Kinda kicking myself for buying a Lincoln MP210 . Just should have bought a straight Ac/Dc Tig and been done with it
I have this same exact machine. But it bubbles up as in like an effect to over heating. I don’t know what to do and I also recorded it. I really need your help
Bob, my customer has the same machine and i welded some aluminum at his shop using his machine. I had the impression that when it ignites the arc on AC it feels like it ignites it on DC, stays there for about a second and than switches to or “turns on” AC .... Does your machine do that too?I only own an everlast mig machine no tigs and i was wondering about ..... a friend of mine has a 185 acdc tig from everlast - it does that too - but not as pronounced .....What does your machine do? Maybe it is supposed to be like that for some reason ....?
ZILA my r-tech 200 ac/dc which is the same as the older everlast always started on regular ac, perhaps these later ones have different control board design.
Very good demo... I was waiting for something on how it worked with stick and 6010. Maybe with the time gone by since you made this, it is out there some where.
Everlasts kick ass on stick. It was the 1st thing I tried on my power pro 256 I had some 1/8th inch 7018 on 1/2 inch plate. I was pleasantly surprised, i was nearly frightened, I'm used to a little 90 amp that couldn't even light up a 3/32 electrode.
The Everlast is not some junk Chinese machine that's a high-quality machine just made somewhere that workers work for little money California worker thinks he needs a hundred bucks an hour
Uncle Bob, what happened to your usual spot where you used to shoot your videos? Did you move to another place? And can you please make an episode about DC and AC frequencies effects? I.e. when you quit the scale (stack-of-diamonds) zone, when you visually see the pulse- or frequency effect on the welding seam, do you still feel or see a difference when driving it from say 20 to 60 or from 60 to 150 or from 150 to 250 hertz? What would you choose for a thin aluminum? And for a thin stainless? Thick ones? When would you prefer high-frequency over the lower one? When a lower frequency is preferred? And what about mig mondays, did you give them up?
Do you ever host any sort of weekend workshops / training events down there at Cowley college.? i'm stationed up here at McConnell AFB roughly an hour from there. If the school was closer I would have already enrolled in a regular course, but driving an hour a day would be hard with an already full schedule.
hey if anyone can help me i recently purchased the everlast tig 200dv and currently have it set up on 220v but the machine wont go over 125 amps on tig and on the stick setting the machine will only go up to 100 amps if anyone can help me resolve the problem it would be greatly appreciated
Do you have it set on 2T or 4T are you using the pedal or the stick also you have to adjust the Hertz if you have the Hertz too low it has to be at least 60 increase and decrease and increase Hertz from 60
You're probably trying to use the foot pedal and still have to dial the machine to maximum to get the range the foot pedal won't automatically give you a full throttle
The foot pedal will operate within a range which is decided by the knob turning it up or down if you turn the knob to 60 it won't go over 60 the foot pedal that is
Also when you go back to stick welder you have to not use the foot pedal and turn it back to 2T + 0 when you use the foot pedal you have to have it on number 2 T zero also
I've never done tig before, so can you explain why you need 8 seconds of post-flow? I get the 2 seconds of pre, but 8 seconds seems really long on post.
When the tungsten is hot ( right after welding) and still glowing - you want to shield the tungsten with agron while it is cooling down and block the ambient air out...if you dont do that - the tungsten will turn black and needs to be re sharpend ...
Not only the tungsten, you also want to keep the post flow going to shield the molten metal while it’s cooling down back into its solid state and cool enough where oxygen won’t contaminate it anymore. 8 seconds is just a tad long for mild steel, but when you get into exotic metals such as titanium, nickel, hastelloy etc. , it is not uncommon to see post flow upwards to about 12-15 seconds. Keep asking questions!
Tuck it also depends in the amperage you were welding at .... if you never weld over 100 amps than maybe 3sec post flow on steel and 5 sec in stainless can be enough ... if you weld at 200 or 250 amp .... in my experience that 8 sec can be a very good number .... now i dont say that you absolutely need 8 sec - but its a “cheap” insurance. Most guys who i know do not really adjust the post flow every day - its more a thing they set once and than forget about it. And my machine has a digital display - i am set to 7.5 sec as my “go to” setting .... I rather have 3 sec too much post flow than 0.5 sec less than i would have needed and then the grinder comes out and i loose valuable time and weld quality over trying to save a fraction of a cent on shielding gas.
I wanted one of these so bad. But I can’t justify the extra $600 over the AHP for performance. They both do the same thing and weld about the same. Only thing the everlast has is pre flow. $600 for a preflow option? 🤷🏻♂️
@@Max-ye9xg honestly they’re not. I bought 2 of them and they both had issues. Ones display went out of calibration and the other was having power issues. None of which would be fixed with out out of pocket costs to me worth half the price of the machine. I sold them both and went Prime weld and never looked back. Sadly I can not recommend AHP anymore
I can't really get impressed when the machine does what the knobs say it's going to do. BUT what good is any of it?
