Hello everyone I'm Rick, the Game Master in the video. First, thanks so much for the positive reception so far! I just wanted to clear a couple things up: 1. This adventure, which comprises this and the next two videos, is a 0 level adventure. You can think of this as the prologue. Dungeon Crawler Classics (the system we are playing) highly encourages randomly creating your characters. The idea is to play with a number of these characters in the 0 level adventure. Through that adventure you become attached to one or more of them, and try to protect that character at the expense of your others. For time purposes, I randomly rolled the characters before we starting playing. At the end of this adventure, each player chose one of their surviving characters to level up to level 1 and play as for the rest of the campaign, or more likely until he dies. 2. As a 0 level character funnel, this was a very linear dungeon crawl, but the campaign really opens up at video four where they have much more freedom. I chose this approach so Shane and Eric wouldn't be too overwhelmed with choices at the beginning and would be able to learn the rules, and the basic idea of role playing. 3. I choose use the Dungeon Crawler Classics role playing system for a number of reasons. A. The rules are not too complex. With the Blind Wave crew's busy schedule I didn't want them to have study any rule books, or spend too much time leveling up their characters. I didn't want a system with too lite of rules however because I feel that having rules that cover most situations help new players have something to guide them in their play. B. The system allows for a lot of fun and funny moments. With things like critical hit and failure tables. The magic system is a lot of fun too with a lot of unique spell effects. C. The system is lethal. This means that combats tend to be quick as hit points are sparse for even the toughest monsters. Such a lethal systems also encourages players to handle situations creatively, since just a head on fight can easily lead to mutilation or death. Thanks so much for your continued support, and for reading this long comment! Feel free to ask me questions on Discord or Twitter. I'm Archmaster7 - Rick Blind Wave Game Master
Archmaster7 Hey Rick, is this world based off of some of the stuff Games Workshop did for Warhammer Fantasy? Just from the mentions of Beastmen & Chaos, I was getting that kind of vibe
Archmaster7 hey this was great only comment would be if u show the crew a picture like u did at the end the maybe also show the camera so we can see as well if u ever do this again
It was awesome, you did a great job. Not sure if you've heard this but, you resemble Mick Foley to me in a way, so Imma call you Rick Foley! Hope to see you on again!
If you do table top games you should have a table top camera if you can. Have it over head pointing straight down over the table and a split screen with both camera views or a screen in screen set up so we can see both views. Just an idea.
Unfortunately we weren't able to set this up in the old studio. That's one of the reasons I picked this system, because there's nothing on the table to see. No maps, or minis just imagination! It's certainly a possibility in the new studio, but it won't be until episode 6 or so that will take place in the new studio.
Rick is the Fith Element of this group you needed we have Water=Eric (because hes Fierce yet calming) Earth=Shane (because he such a grounded and all round good person) Fire=Calvin (because he is wild and uncontrollable) Wind = Arron (because the group would die with out him) Then we have Slick Rick the missing element
LuxDuLux I feel like Shane would be more like the water guy cuz he's just so chill and mellow. While Eric just seems like a a Taurus and they're an earth sign so😂🤷🏽♂️
Super glad some of you have never done this before and you have to explain all the rules and stuff. Because I have no idea how to play, but it sounds super fun!
This is awesome. Filling the slot "We're on a quest" by THAC left. I have never gamed for lack of options in my area, but i like the idea of it. Where i'm going with this is that for me, having moderate knowledge of the rules, watching experienced players (like on Geek and Sundry) can get a bit incomprehensible at times. I much prefer watching beginners (or a mixed group in this case). Rick is looking better at handling this group than Noah was at handling his over at THAC. By, for example, explaining how he's not the antagonist right off the bat and having this introductory chapter to help Eric and Shane learn the rules. This will be the end of my comparisons. I will now just enjoy the show. Can't wait!
I know, but I was just throwing it out there, so when you're waiting, you could check it out. I didn't know a thing about d&d until I decided to watch Ep.1 and I'm soooo glad I did.
Just found this. The Hilarity of roleplaying when the players look like an adventure party in real life. From left to right: Dwarf Fighter, Paladin, Magic User, Cleric and Ranger.
If you literally can't wait the next one is on their Patreon. www.patreon.com/blindwave If you figuratively can't wait, I'm right there with you, I can't wait to play again! -Rick
Love these Games, and Rick is a great asset. I love how the description of the video is like TWD " Rick leads the groups" hehe. BTW Aaron is so funny, I love his jokes and laugh, its infectious. His personality reminds me of me lol :)
Shane didn't really seemed to be into it, looking at his phone and watch and being angry at the gamemaster^^ hope they continue it with better atmoshpere, I've witnessed the most hilarious p&p rpgs, but only when all players have fun and are in a good mood. other than that, fun game! rick is a good game master, and the others are creative and funny as always!

I've never played one of these things. Is what Rick is reading something that comes with the game, or is it something the games master writes up himself? If so, even more props to Rick, hopefully he is involved in more Games Nights

"We have it all planned out..."
Blind Wave is Ten Steps ahead of us and we don't even know what Games they are going to play !! *Cue Prometheus Music*
Allen Antony would be cool if they play warhammer stuff (doesnt matter fantasy or 40k) but guess that wont happen because its so expensive xD
"THE TENTACLES ARE ALREADY GOING IN THE BACK DOOR, RICK!" You guys need a quote montage!
This is awesome. Filling the slot "We're on a quest" by THAC left.

Rick is the "baby" of Eric and Calvin combine !
Listening to you guys go on this adventure is really fun. Such a great time. I remember my first game of D&D, creating my character. Pretty cool.
I love you Rick.
-Love, Morty.
Marty McFly Morty would never say that
O-Ø What Morty am I...
Gabriel Tzukishiro a morty that was going to die a morty
I like how they jumped right in and found motivation
"Nobody tosses the salad of a dwarf!" needs to be a t-shirt.

Still my favorite DnD book ever
"No one tosses the salad of a Dwarf!!" 😂

I’m trying to find when Rick made the joke about Calvins biceps but I don’t know when he says it
This is my first video from these guys. Rick is awesome. I'll be checking out more with him for sure. 👍🏻
as much as i love blind wave I'm here to watch rick!!! RICK FOR BLINDWAVE LEADER
At 17:07 did no one notice calvin's daredevil reference? Lol, didn't expect to like this anyway but you guys make this fun
Damn. Didn't pay attention to how long the video was. Was hoping it would be like mailbags now and be over 2 hours. So good!
Have you heard of Critical Role? A bunch of nerd ass voice actors who play d&d. They play for 3-5 hours each week. They have 90+ episodes.
Yeah, but they aren't Blind Wave. I want to watch the Blind Wave crew play games for hours on end.
Did you watch their other campaign? Cuz that's like exactly what they play in it
My condolences to Calvin for his rat catcher. That was sad.
Rick looks like Jon Snow. The beard and hair really seals the deal.
I got so into it at the end. Can't wait to see the next one.
If you literally can't wait the next one is on their Patreon. www.patreon.com/blindwave
If you figuratively can't wait, I'm right there with you, I can't wait to play again!

Archmaster7 I guess it's both, however I'm hoping to be able to get early access soon due to my blind wave addiction.
Archmaster7 idk if you're official gamemaster or what exactly but I love your instant passion for the channel and community. Keep up the great work!
Yes, I am the official gamemaster. Thanks for the kind words.
-Rick
Loooool! Such detail in a DCC 0 level funnel!
I guess you could say his stats are INSHANE.
I went back to this to watch it all from the start, and holy shit Rick looks so different. I mean all of them have changed, but especially Rick.
Rick is great!
I love this so much I am so happy you guys did this
The dwarf rat-catcher's motivation should be that he's desperate to find some ketchup, no matter _where_ he has to search...
I am always a little confuse when I watch these things, but this is still fun to listen to, and amazing you done this.

In these first three episodes I'm running a printed adventure called Sailors of the Starless Sea. Of course, not everything goes according to what's on the page. The mad hermit is improvised for example.
In the next two, or three episodes I'm just improvising. The campaign will be a mix of prewritten stuff, and stuff I've come up with. I'll have them include what I use in the video description.
-Rick
So it is like a jumping off point or a tutorial then. Well I look forward to seeing how this tale unfolds in the next few!
If I were a character, I wonder what I'll be
