  • We're heading back to the Harley Davidson dealership for the first time since buying the MT-09. This has me thinking, is there a false sense of security when buying a motorcycle from a dealership? Let's talk about it!

Loved this mate, I think I’m gonna do a video on a similar topic.
It’s a tricky limbo situation, I think when I’ve brought from a dealer I expect the bike to be as close to perfect as possible, or if not that it’s covered with some warranty, but I have also brought from the owner privately and whilst they can’t offer warranty’s and what not, sometimes you can get a real cared for gem of a bike.
    Great video buddy 🤘

This is an interesting topic. A red flag for me would be buying my MT-09 from a HD dealer. It's not their forte so they're not going to know the quirks and particulars of that bike. So I would go over the bike rooter to tooter with a fine tooth comb when I get home.
I've had many brand new bikes where I checked them over when I got home and the torque settings for many bolts were way off and like you say, some were finger tight. Do your due diligence on any bike purchase is my motto.

I completely agree. What kind of loon buys a Yamaha from a Harley dealer? 🤣
There was a section I cut out of this where I made the suggestion that a person take a wrench to their bike and check bolts were tight. Then I remembered some of the bikes and quads I owned previously with overtorqued bolts.
Definitely a good idea to give em a once over from tip to tip and check things out.

Depends on the dealer. The only reason I’ll use a dealer is for the ease of use transaction. Otherwise it’s strictly local sales and rolling the dice lol. Good topic man!

I agree, and that is why I went to the dealer for this MT09. Ease of transaction and saving me the trouble of selling my motorcycle first.
      Thanks for watching!✌

There are some issues with buying used bikes. But if you're mechanically inclined, some issues can be fixed by you and can get a deal at the same time.

I feel that. I can get along with them well enough, but I've seen behind the counter too many times to have full faith in any deal.
