* 11 Ways to Save Money on Boots: stridewise.com/best-boot-deals
I'm always amazed by how many terrible boots there are on the market - believe me, I own over a hundred pairs of them and I've seen the best and worst the industry has to offer. When coming up with a list of the best boots, a central question was "Which boots do I recommend the most?" Answering that came down to value and versatility: what's going to be the most useful and offer the best value for the average person?

Thanks so much for the kind words, we're happy you love your captains😀
Yes! Truly amazing that he had such kind words on boots you sent him for free for this video! Who would have thought....
Can you please remind co-founder Connor Wilson that abortion access is a human right and until he stops supporting the Teneo Network PAC with his membership, I will vehemently oppose Thursday Boot Co and make sure every one knows the personal values of the co-founder so we can support companies that aren’t actively suppressing human rights and access to medical care.
@@thearabianmage I don’t give a shit about the guy’s political beliefs. I care about whether the boots his company makes are good or not.
@@thearabianmagehow is it a human right to murder
@thearabianmage wtf is this comment. Everyone has their own right to have an opinion and support whoever or whatever cause they want. This is a youtube video about boots, STFU with your political BS, if you don't like it do something about it in your life, but don't bring your crap here
I recently bought a pair of rm william as my first pair of chelsea boot, Largely because of your review! Still I love that chose rm williams. Now I am rm lover in Korea! Always love your reviews!
Nice selection of boots Nick. Good to see R M Williams in your list, I have a couple pairs that are still going after 10years or so - although been adding mostly red wings to my collection in recent time.
I appreciate that you love the Thursday so much despite being seemingly one of the lowest cost "quality" boot out there. A great example of how a boot doesn't have to be the most expensive to be a favorite!
Man I can’t wait to buy a pair of Thursday Boots. I have never owned a pair and only hear good things about them .
Nick you are very informative and knowledgeable. Thank you for everything you do. I agree with your pics too! Great job buddy!
Literally got a pair of Red Wing 875’s today for my birthday, can’t wait to wear them all of this fall.
First of all, solid video and awesome choices of boots imo
Second of all, the amount of info in the video description is astonishing. All the links to all the products and articles and videos etc great job! Not all content creators are so thorough. Much appreciated!
I try hard dude and I don't think anyone sees that haha, thanks for letting me know I'm not screaming into the void!
This was an amazing video. I found you through "Higgins Mill Boot" images and saw that review. Come to find this and I'm SO EXCITED! At first boot shopping was overwhelming cause all the details, THEN YOU ARRIVED! 😂😂😂 Thank youuu
👍🏻 Great channel, love the valuable information. Thank you Bedo's !! I have subscribed.
Let's goooo! I've been waiting for this one. Thank you for the boot advice, boot sensei (in Tony Jaa's voice).
Thanks Jake Jaa!!!
Excellent video, Nick. I think AE Higgins Mill belongs on the list, at least an honorable mention. Thank you for the review.
I came over from Bedo’s. Loved the quick colab on your friend’s boots. Looking forward to knowing if the squeak is gone.
Belated praise for your reviews. Thanks Nick.
i still saw your comment! thank you!
Nice choices Nick. I love those Carminas, you look fantastic in them!
Thanks so much Frank! Yeah I'd have never thought Chelseas would be my go to suit boot but life takes us to funny places
I needed this video. Thank you.
I really appreciated your review, based on the vast number of boots you’ve worn. I know everyone’s feet are different, but the Viberg 2030s are the best fit for me. I was surprised that Vibergs weren’t somewhere on your list. They are definitely at the bottom of the value list, but their leathers and quality control are top notch. I’d like to see you do a video about how you decide when to wear the different boots you reviewed here. For example, why do you wear the Thursday Captain more often than the Alden Indy? Or why would you choose a Chelsea instead of a service boot if you’re just wearing jeans? For me, it’s just what makes me happy that day.
I was wearing my Vibergs yesterday actually and the 2030 is soooo wide! Since I bought my Vibergs they've made narrower widths on the service boot and I wish I'd had one of them. Their clicking is great but if it's between Viberg and Alden I think Alden is more comfy and stylish. Good idea on when to wear what boots! But like you, Bob, I just look at my wall of boots and wonder what would be fun that day :) With some exceptions, like nothing too slim with jeans that aren't tapered, etc.
@@Stridewise I use a nice insole in my 2030’s, all leather and it really tightened up everything. I can’t wear a 7.5 but an 8 is just a touch to big. Insoles fix that and they fit like a glove.
In my opinion the 2030 last fits the same as whites mp last
If I could design a Chelsea myself it would end up looking exactly like that Taylor stitch ranch boot. Gorgeous! 😍
Interesting list. I must definitely get the captain boots
Just ordered a pair of Oak Street Trench boots during their Labor Day sale and they are amazing. So much I just bought their new Lake Shore boot in horse rump that released today. Thanks for turning me onto the brand Nick.
So glad you like them!! I think they're super underrated, they're really lovely boots. Horse rump Lakeshore sounds divine. Great company.
Thanks for the run through. Some amazing looking boots!
Like one of the previous comments, I too have recently purchased a pair of Thursday Captains. I love them so much I bought another pair! I’m glad they made the list. 👍
Glad the video was meaningful for you Darren!
Awesome do you mind me asking what colors you bought and what you think of the color vs how they appear on the website?
@@aradoran I originally bought the brown with their version of the ChromeXL leather, which looks, feels and smells incredible. I was so impressed I then bought the matte black rough and tough. So I guess I’ve got boots to match all my clothes. The colours match well with their website pics, I’d say. Are you thinking of getting a pair of Thursdays?
@@darrenhall7454 i got the scout chukka in their brown chrome. Pretty nice leather.
Thank you for the top5. I'm from Russia and we don't have so much info about good boots. Video like that help me and people who like boots/shoes in my country. I hope your channel become more popular and trending in future. With love
Spasiba Nikita! Glad you liked this
Can confirm on the White's, they are an absolute tank.
Big fan of Thursdays. I have four pair. Great value.
Very nice presentation of the 10 best boots….just curious, did my Allen Edmonds Higgins Mill boots get anywhere near the top of the list??…nice video as always Nick…Ed
For me, the toughest heritage boot (though admittedly more on the rugged side, than casual) would be Nicks...particularly the Urban Logger
Yeah I think that White's has more and better options for urban guys, so I like that brand more, but Nick's is very impressive.
My Urban loggers could kick the shit out of my 7 red wings.
I love the Whites 350 Cutter.
Nick's falcon or Americana is a close equivalent to the whites MPs...but cinnamon waxed flesh is beautiful I admit I love the color
Wow. I also have the Carmina Chelsea boots and love mine too. But I didn't expect to see them on your list, Nick. Mine are also black. Had them a year and can and do walk in them all day.
Hey don't downplay those lovely boots! The value for money is excellent, it's probably the classiest boot I've reviewed on my channel, everything else is typically high end casual. For now, anyway!
Awesome list! Will defo check out the Grant Stone's when my current boots wear out. Have you ever bought any Yuketen boots before? Their designs are really interesting and I'd love to know more about the brand
Just to follow up on my comment about my Thursday boots... they sent me a new pair and said keep the old ones. Very good customer service!
That was a good Thursday’s plug, have to agree they are good though.
You've got me looking at the White's MP Sherman pretty strongly.
That boot just looks like it could take on anything!
It's a beast, while remaining not too chunky. Love it!
@@Stridewise I'm looking at obviously the MP Sherman, but also Truman's waxed flesh.
I think you have Truman's waxed flesh as well...which do you like better?
I just got a pair of Taylor Stitch's Ranch boot, and I really like them a lot. They're comfortable and look great. I had some of the same minor QC issues you mentioned in your full review, but I don't mind them too much. Nice as they are, they're still boots, they're gonna get roughed up eventually. I also bought them during the labor day sale. That made them a little bit cheaper and made me more forgiving.
Congrats on the labor day sale, Philip! Yeah those boots look about a billion times better when they're worn in and darker, there aren't many Chelseas that balance rugged and pretty the way they do.
Perfect, awesome video….short and your honest ranking. Thanks!
Glad you like it! It was a challenge to get it under 10 minutes, I've done 20 on just one pair of jeans before haha
@@Stridewise Hi Nick.....have you seen Thursday Booyts has 3 unbranded Slevedge jeans for sale at ~$100???? Definitely want you thoughts/recommendations on them. I totally love Kato Jackets/jeans they use to carry. Thanks again!
Some suggestions if I may: Crockett and Jones boots and please, cowboy boots by Lucchese and Sendra
Nick...love your content...thus is a little off topic but could you so a review on Georgia Boots small batch moc toe boots...just wanted to get your opinion on them...thanks
I am slightly disappointed that Red Wings' Iron rangers did not make it to this list. I've been enjoying my pair for the last 4 years and they are still amazing with a bare minimum of maintenance.
Enjoyed your visit with Bedo. He’s the best.
The best!
Hello from bedo's leather works. Came to see what's up. Nice channel.
Great content. Noticed you didn't cover anything British. I was leaning towards the Herring Churchstow with a Norwegian welted lug sole as a cheaper alternative to the Crockett & Jones Snowden. Any thoughts on the Herring Churchstow? Want something dressy enough to wear in a business casual setting but that I can walk through Canadian winters with on snowy, slushy sidewalks between the home and work. Also like the Sanders Kelso but figured the Norwegian welt of the Herring would be better in the snow and slush.
Very useful video. Well done. Would have liked more close ups of some of them but as long as they all have their own videos that's fine.
You know I agonised a LOT over how much on-foot footage I should balance with boring close ups, maybe I tried too hard to make things exciting!
A good review, but surprised not to see Allen Edmond's Higgins Mill boot listed. I still need to own a pair, but I heard from many that it is an excellent quality built boot. This will be my next boot purchase. I was glad to see Thursday Captain Boots included, as I love mine.
Awesome video- I personally own a few of these myself and agree with your comments.
On MP Sherman- what’s your recommendation on sizing? Do you go 1/2 size down from your Brannock or would you recommend scaling a full size down?
Great work
I have a pair of Thursday Boots- the Duke Chelsea boot. I love them but the loop ripped in the back after maybe ten wears ( purchased last Christmas but put them in the closet until this fall). I have written Thursday to see if they will warrantee them. I will let you know their response...since you sing them high praises on your channel.... I am hoping they will fix them because I really love these boots.
Nick, I'd like to ask your opinion on the (( Style# 3531 Red Wing Tradesman Men's 8-inch BOA, Waterproof, Safety Toe Boot. )) Are they worth the money, are they durable, and what do you think of the BOA lacing system? Is the BOA system reliable? I'll be using them for early morning hikes down in the canyon behind my house. Awesome boot review and happy new year !!!
Just purchased my first pair of leather work boots…Thorogood America Heritage Moc Toe. Do you have any videos or guides on how to condition/treat these right out of the box (if I should be treating them at all)? And then basic tips on maintenance?
This will be legendary
Great vidoe the only thing I would switch around is the moc toe picks. I would have put the 875 as the pick and the the other as runner up
Fair enough! Mine was a radical pick. Red Wing store employees voted it as the best red wing boot, check it out! ua-cam.com/video/MOyto5_fHW4/v-deo.html
Would be great to see a ranking of Chelsea boots! And how they should fit… I feel like they always fit loose in the ankle
That's been on my to do list for a long time! I might film it for this season, thanks for the encouragement Alberto
@@Stridewise hahaha I risk sounding repetitive!
@@Stridewise when is your chelsea boot list coming out...also, on the rm william's, does a round toe make a better fit for a wider foot or is the square toe just as comfy? thanks
Great video
I do love my Truman and oakstreet boots, but i have to say Vibergs are my favorite. I know they are pricy and never thought i would spend that much for a pair but man they are awesome. I am waiting on my pair of the rose anvil collabs with Nick's (ND1). I am anxious to try them out. Thanks for the content!!
Vibergs are pretty cool, Jim! You might like this article comparing viberg and white's service boots: stridewise.com/whites-vs-viberg-boots/
The author loves Vibergs more than I do but I can appreciate their merits! The quality control is so great with Viberg, it's my only chromexcel boot that hasn't creased.
Thanks for the article. I have a pair of White's moc toe but have not worn them yet. They feel really comfortable. A cheaper model but foe the money i couldn't resist.! Lol
@@jimmccoys5778 haha we did a video on that boot! ua-cam.com/video/iZxA-5NIMhw/v-deo.html
@@Stridewise yea actually that is what led me to guve them a try! Thanks for the influence ! LOL
I have to say i have purchased entirely too may boots this year due to your influence. My wife would kill me if she had any idea!!
Hello and thanks for your videos! I was wondering if you happened to know what the most comfortable steel toe work boot?? I'm a machine welder who's on my feet 12hrs a day and I don't want to destroy my feet! Thanks again!!
Love the more old school style boots.
Would be great if you could do another video on the jeans and pants you have with a match up with boots. Cheers
I filmed a video on the best athletic fit jeans and they're all my go tos - keep an eye out!
I’m a Ranger guy but those Thursday’s Captain’s are damn fine especially for the money
What is your opinion on the Jim Green Razorback boots? Thanks for your time!
The Thursday captain is the first quality boot I bought that wasn't a straight work boot. At first it felt very awkward because the heel is higher than anything I wore before. But I got used to it pretty quick and they are surprisingly comfortable now.
Man I look forward to buying a pair of Thursday boots. I’ve only owned work boots as well
I would have picked Nicks over Whites. I like the style and their leather choice more but also, their quality control. I've had way too many issues with Whites recently. That's tends to factor in when I pick one or the other. Loved your picks though. My gf loves her Thursdays. I wish their Logger was a bit more rounded, and rugged. I can't get into the sleek look. It's still a great looking boot.
I'm about to pull the trigger on a pair of Thursday captains with the storm king soles. Any opinions on them? Will the glove leather lining make my heels slip or squeak?
I absolutely love my Thursday Captains
I like wider boots 🥾 on my toes, and 7/8 of those boots mentioned, it’s very narrow, and looks funny when tall guys wearing skinny boots!
Could please make a video with the most comfortable and wider/ round toe everyday boots 🥾 ? Can be casual, dress, and everyday wearing!
Liked and subscribed cheers mate
I love Tuesdays, and really love how competitive their pricing is. I've been wearing Iron Rangers alot lately, and though they're great, they're a little over kill for the office. Thursdays cap boot really is an all around, versatile boot.
Tuesdays?
@@Tallnerdyguy well I obviously wrote Thursdays, but for some reason it auto corrected to Tuesdays
I love finding 2nd hand boots, its pretty surprising you can find barely worn pairs for fraction of retail price - own the RM Williams, Red Wings Moc, Jcrew Alden cap toe cordovan, Viberg Service Boot, Allen Edmonds Cronmok & Miller boots and honestly one of my favorite casual pairs is just a random pair of John Varvatos (not Star USA) I got at Saks Off 5th.
Where do you go to find secondhand boots? Thrift stores and yard sales? Or somewhere else?
@@shewbell2176 now a days Poshmark has been amazing for finding great deals on some of my boots. Just grabbed a black pair of basically new RM Williams for $140
Just for info, Thursday offer 22 different leathers in the Captain Boot. If you click on a Rugged & Resilient or Classic Collection boot it shows you more leather types for that category than it shows for the alternative category. So you have to click on a boot from both categories to see the total number of options. A strange design decision.
I would add Trickers boots to this list. Both the UK versions and also the collaboration they do with Division.
Yes, Tricker's are great! A bit of a harder sell to Americans but mine were so comfy, I did a video on the Division Road collab I really want to wear them more.
Trickers and Crockett and Jones are the best a man can get in this price range, period I live in the Northamptonshire borders and visit the factory shops for a bargain, bought Trickers Henry and Coniston rough out suede from Crockett and Jones in there factory shop in December at half price. Still can't find anything wrong with them although marked subs
Trickers and Crockett and Jones the best a man can get in this price range
Winter is coming up soon, I saved up and want to order a pair of comfortable wide toe box boots under $250. I am considering Whites Perry 'mocto' or meybe Jim Greens (I tried redbacks in a store and found the feel of the top end of the boot against my feet isn't pleasant to me). Are Whites Perry's a light enough pair that I can walk around town taking pictures or work a hole day without pain or discomfort? any other recommendation? Thanks! 🙏
That Truman java waxed flesh looks like the Grant Stone earth.
Overall really like your list. Good cross section of styles and versatility
I hope parkhurst makes it on your list in the future. The dublin boot rivals some of the alden's I own in terms of build quality, finishing, and fit. Andrew's updated boot builds are far better than the OG builds in his early days.
I love Parkhurst! I actually just filmed a 'most underrated boots' video with Ticho Blanco and they're on the list :)
Yep, I got a pair and they are awesome.
I use to buy nothing but air forces nike, addidas, ross shirts and top to bottom hoodies. Now as I grow up and transition to being a man. Nothing beats a good pair of boots with fresh pair of jeans. A car hart shirt and a nice warm work jacket 😌🤝. Thinking bout buy some suits and going for a more casual look to.
Truman sometimes has ready-made boots, so you don't have to wait 6 to 8 weeks. That's how I got my black rough out boots, and they are pretty sweet.
True! And sometimes David you wait a month and sometimes it's three. I guess I just averaged, though also it was pretty recent they started doing ready made boots.
Saw you on Bedo Leatherworks Channel. Sub'd to your channel now👍🏽Looking forward to viewing your new, recent & past content. All the best!
I recently got a pair of Thursday Captains and I'm enjoying them. However, when I flip them over, look at the sole and look down at the heads of the nails used on the heel, I see that the nails are rising up towards the surface of the heel. None have come out yet and the heel is still secure, but most of the nails seem to be coming up and a few of the nail heads are near flush with the rubber. Is anyone else experiencing this? I wonder if it may become a problem. ✌
First video I've seen on your channel and really love your choices.
oh cool, glad you like it man! and i did it alll in under 10 minutes
@@Stridewise I haven't looked through all of your videos...yet lol So I don't know if you created a video for this or if you ever will. But if you had to choose only one pair of boots that you take with you for the rest of your life what would you pick?
@@assadn5082 Ehhh. Alden Indy, I think
@@Stridewise Wow! That is the only pair of boots that I have! Thank you for your quick replies and you have a subscriber here. Watching your vid on cordovan leather atm and looking forward to your future vids. Thanks again!
@@assadn5082 Haha! Great stuff. I might have gone with Oak Street too. Anyway glad we're on the same page :D thanks for the sub!

What do you think of Whites Main Street boots. Curious the difference between them and their MPs.

Thanks for subbing, Howie! Really glad you made it.
What colour are the RH Williams are you rocking? Thanks

Best boots are English made from Crockett and Jones and Trickers. Exacting quality and materials, beautiful construction, and if you are lucky like me, the factory shop in Northamptonshire are fantastic, can pick up a bargain, bought Crockett and Jones rough out suede Coniston boots and Trickers Henry at their factory shops in December
Nice!!!!!!!
Loved your collection. Thank you from india
Thanks for watching Surya!
Good picks...
I'm just here waiting for the video with Steve from Bedo's 😆 guess I'll subscribe and watch some of your vids 👍
That leather jacket is 🔥🔥🔥
Tafts Dragon boot would have made my list, stupidly comfortable, and tough from my personal perspective
I now know what I would do with my money if I had better income! Props to you!
Can you give me your opinion about Red Wing Foreman Brown Copper Chukka 9219?
I hear alot of great things about thursday boots
I have some premiere low top sneakers from Thursday and they’re awesome but I mostly dislike the look of their boots. Their toe profile isn’t my style and I am not into the way they age. The explorer is one i’d still buy and I like their diplomats because they are a more low profile moc, a category I normally don’t gravitate towards.
I saw an eletrician with the indy boot. I was amazed.
i follow several of your youtube videos and they are all exciting videos! btw i saw the one where you review chelsea boots from benzein and you said it was the best chelsea in the world. I wonder why you didn't put that one on the list here (i am considering and comparing which chelsea to buy) thank you!
Well I didn't have the Benzeins when I filmed this, but also I need to be realistic: the video isn't going to be useful to most people if I'm suggesting a brand that takes 6 months to make $500 boots, you know? I'm trying to target the average person here
@@Stridewise ah got it! I agree the waiting part isn’t for everyone
Have you ever reviewed Nick's Handmade, or Wesco boots? Wescos are favored by bikers and leathermen, and are known to be very well crafted.
I'm seeing a lot of advertisements for the Xero Boots / Shoes. Please do a review of them.
Soooo, you do not like AE's Higgings Mill boot in CXL with waterproofing? Hmmm?
Thursday and RM Williams, I only buy boots from these two brands, they are the best (regardless price)
Excellent stuff
Anyone with experience with C&J? How would they stack with Carmina for instance. Any preferences?
Clean fade bro!! 👊🏽 (that’s American for haircut) haha
Hahaha thanks Joe!
My Whites MPs fit me better than any boot I own…aside from my Viberg service boots in Horween horsebutt on the 1035 last. I understand they’re expensive but like many in this comments section I was baffled to see Viberg left off this list
I have the RM Williams and the Carminas Simpson Chelsea boot.
I live in Australia.
For my money, I like the Carminas better then RM Williams.
They are both great boots, I think the leather is nice on the Carminas.
Thorogood gets the MocSpot nick. Need to see more them whites MP tho. Noiiice
Before sent me. I’m going to start binge watching previous videos. Best Regards
