I was surprised that Vibergs weren’t somewhere on your list. They are definitely at the bottom of the value list, but their leathers and quality control are top notch. I’d like to see you do a video about how you decide when to wear the different boots you reviewed here. For example, why do you wear the Thursday Captain more often than the Alden Indy? Or why would you choose a Chelsea instead of a service boot if you’re just wearing jeans? For me, it’s just what makes me happy that day.
I was wearing my Vibergs yesterday actually and the 2030 is soooo wide! Since I bought my Vibergs they've made narrower widths on the service boot and I wish I'd had one of them. Their clicking is great but if it's between Viberg and Alden I think Alden is more comfy and stylish. Good idea on when to wear what boots! But like you, Bob, I just look at my wall of boots and wonder what would be fun that day :) With some exceptions, like nothing too slim with jeans that aren't tapered, etc.

You should have said that the RM Williams boots take 3 days to make.... also that they are made from just 1 piece of leather, so only one seam down the back of the boot which makes they outstandingly comfortable... :)
You and I just like different types of boots. There's nothing wrong with that. I would not have chosen half the boots you picked. Appreciate the video anyway
I just got a pair of Taylor Stitch's Ranch boot, and I really like them a lot. They're comfortable and look great. I had some of the same minor QC issues you mentioned in your full review, but I don't mind them too much. Nice as they are, they're still boots, they're gonna get roughed up eventually. I also bought them during the labor day sale. That made them a little bit cheaper and made me more forgiving.
Congrats on the labor day sale, Philip! Yeah those boots look about a billion times better when they're worn in and darker, there aren't many Chelseas that balance rugged and pretty the way they do.
Hello and thanks for your videos! I was wondering if you happened to know what the most comfortable steel toe work boot?? I'm a machine welder who's on my feet 12hrs a day and I don't want to destroy my feet! Thanks again!!
Nick, I'd like to ask your opinion on the (( Style# 3531 Red Wing Tradesman Men's 8-inch BOA, Waterproof, Safety Toe Boot. )) Are they worth the money, are they durable, and what do you think of the BOA lacing system? Is the BOA system reliable? I'll be using them for early morning hikes down in the canyon behind my house. Awesome boot review and happy new year !!!
I would have picked Nicks over Whites. I like the style and their leather choice more but also, their quality control. I've had way too many issues with Whites recently. That's tends to factor in when I pick one or the other. Loved your picks though. My gf loves her Thursdays. I wish their Logger was a bit more rounded, and rugged. I can't get into the sleek look. It's still a great looking boot.
Just purchased my first pair of leather work boots…Thorogood America Heritage Moc Toe. Do you have any videos or guides on how to condition/treat these right out of the box (if I should be treating them at all)? And then basic tips on maintenance?
@@Stridewise Your review is absolutely great. It's true, the 2030 last is my favorite last so far. I have 2 Viberg service boots in chromexcel and kudu leather that I've worn all the time throughout the year but summer. They're comfortable after broken in, built like tank and the leather is thick. I'm very interested in White's. Maybe one day I'll get one of their MP boots in burgundy.
Very nice presentation of the 10 best boots….just curious, did my Allen Edmonds Higgins Mill boots get anywhere near the top of the list??…nice video as always Nick…Ed
Asked this question to another creator but they never answered. What is the best type of boot? Boots to me have to be go to war in, come home build a house in go to the bar, get in a bar fight, get married then settle down and tend a farm in. Only one style comes to my mind but what are your thoughts. This might make a good video
Haha I'm glad you didn't add "and I need to be able to dress them up" because that would be a hard ask. I guess I'd say a chunkier plain toe boot? Red Wing Blacksmith?
Best Overall: White Kloud/ Clinch boots Best moc: John Lofgren moc/ Grant Stone Brass boot Best tough boot: Whites bounty hunter/ Nicks Builder Pro Best Luxery: What kind of categorie is this even? I guess I"d go for an Alden rare shell or Viberg shell Best Chelsea boot: Hands down Benzein I can resonate with most of the boots you mentioned, but Thursday is a big no-no. Build quality is subpar, is more a sneaker than a boot. Leather quality is subpar and the soles are an uninspired copy of Dainite. Yes for under 200 they're ok I guess. But best overall?? Id put literally almost any boot above Thursday.
i got the thursday, what a mistake. it was mt first boot like that, and i don't think I'll ever wear it again. i really like allen edmonds boots. i have bought 3 pairs now. i agree, almost any boot is better than the thursday.

I recently got a pair of Thursday Captains and I'm enjoying them. However, when I flip them over, look at the sole and look down at the heads of the nails used on the heel, I see that the nails are rising up towards the surface of the heel. None have come out yet and the heel is still secure, but most of the nails seem to be coming up and a few of the nail heads are near flush with the rubber. Is anyone else experiencing this? I wonder if it may become a problem. ✌
I hope parkhurst makes it on your list in the future. The dublin boot rivals some of the alden's I own in terms of build quality, finishing, and fit. Andrew's updated boot builds are far better than the OG builds in his early days.

While lined boots aren't suffocating, unlined boots breathe better, so look for them. I made a video about wide boots here! ua-cam.com/video/Urxc733EZYo/v-deo.html
I have Captain boots from Thursday and I never wear them because they are too narrow. To be able to fit, I would have to go at least 1 size up and probably more since the one I have are already 1/2 size up. My foot is a small E not a EE, so I would say that Thursday boots are for narrow feet or for those who don’t mind a very long shoe with a big gap in front of their toes.
Never interested in work boots and at first I thought people are insane to pay so much money. Now I slowly understand why. Good investment in long term and saves the planet too.

@@Stridewise I have 4 pair of jeans and they are all nudie but those sit really nicely on boots! I’ll have to give them a try thanks and I’m subscribed!
Lake Street boot model Lakeshore is fully calfskin lined. I believe this is their only model leather lined.
Some suggestions if I may: Crockett and Jones boots and please, cowboy boots by Lucchese and Sendra
You should have said that the RM Williams boots take 3 days to make.... also that they are made from just 1 piece of leather, so only one seam down the back of the boot which makes they outstandingly comfortable... :)
That Truman java waxed flesh looks like the Grant Stone earth.
Overall really like your list. Good cross section of styles and versatility
What do you think of Georgia Eagle light boots 🥾
I would have picked Nicks over Whites. I like the style and their leather choice more but also, their quality control. I've had way too many issues with Whites recently. That's tends to factor in when I pick one or the other. Loved your picks though. My gf loves her Thursdays. I wish their Logger was a bit more rounded, and rugged. I can't get into the sleek look. It's still a great looking boot.
OSB is NOT made in Chicago. The company is located in Chicago, but they outsource to different factories, one in New York and one in Maine.
Can you do reviews of boots that are best outside of paved cities?
Just purchased my first pair of leather work boots…Thorogood America Heritage Moc Toe. Do you have any videos or guides on how to condition/treat these right out of the box (if I should be treating them at all)? And then basic tips on maintenance?
Viberg is my favorite!
An excellent company, Darryl! You might like this: stridewise.com/whites-vs-viberg-boots/
Very useful video. Well done. Would have liked more close ups of some of them but as long as they all have their own videos that's fine.
You know I agonised a LOT over how much on-foot footage I should balance with boring close ups, maybe I tried too hard to make things exciting!
Love the more old school style boots.
Would be great if you could do another video on the jeans and pants you have with a match up with boots. Cheers
I filmed a video on the best athletic fit jeans and they're all my go tos - keep an eye out!
Great video. Would love to know your opinion of the TLB Mallorca Chelsea (Alan or Oliver Last) vs Carmina's Chelsea.
Tafts Dragon boot would have made my list, stupidly comfortable, and tough from my personal perspective
Best Overall: White Kloud/ Clinch boots
Best moc: John Lofgren moc/ Grant Stone Brass boot
Best tough boot: Whites bounty hunter/ Nicks Builder Pro
Best Luxery: What kind of categorie is this even? I guess I"d go for an Alden rare shell or Viberg shell
Best Chelsea boot: Hands down Benzein
I can resonate with most of the boots you mentioned, but Thursday is a big no-no.
@@louiscyfer6944 Oh that sucks... Its sad that Thursday uses classic influencer advertisement to promote their products... 'Reviewers' praise their boots to the moon, just because brands pay them too. Its not a real genuine review anymore and people buy boots that suck :-(
@@Rockingstars yup, i fell for it. when i first got it it was not good, but i thought boots like that just delt like that. i got a better pair, and what a difference. unfortunately the return period was over by then.
I love Parkhurst! I actually just filmed a 'most underrated boots' video with Ticho Blanco and they're on the list :)
Yep, I got a pair and they are awesome.
Awesome men's black leather biker jacket ya got man! Great taste! Just like me! LOL and Andy Tate aka Top G!
I hear alot of great things about thursday boots
Hi, Which boot would you recommend for someone with Plantar Fasciitis?
Have you ever reviewed Nick's Handmade, or Wesco boots? Wescos are favored by bikers and leathermen, and are known to be very well crafted.
have you ever looked at Trickers Boots?
I saw an eletrician with the indy boot. I was amazed.
I now know what I would do with my money if I had better income! Props to you!
Perfect, awesome video….short and your honest ranking. Thanks!
Glad you like it! It was a challenge to get it under 10 minutes, I've done 20 on just one pair of jeans before haha
@@Stridewise Hi Nick.....have you seen Thursday Booyts has 3 unbranded Slevedge jeans for sale at ~$100???? Definitely want you thoughts/recommendations on them. I totally love Kato Jackets/jeans they use to carry. Thanks again!
What about Jodphurs? I like that style of boot.
Nick...love your content...thus is a little off topic but could you so a review on Georgia Boots small batch moc toe boots...just wanted to get your opinion on them...thanks
Do any of these boots breathe?? Which one breathes the best? Also which one can I get 13 extra wide??
all leather boots breathe... at this size check whites, nicks, etc
While lined boots aren't suffocating, unlined boots breathe better, so look for them. I made a video about wide boots here! ua-cam.com/video/Urxc733EZYo/v-deo.html
@@Stridewise does the Captain boot breathe well? I am interested in those! I don’t like sweaty feet.
You know they make the Captain in a wide width version right? Not for every color but for several.
@@Xaluber Thank you for the tip. Maybe I was unlucky, but all the colors I looked were only in D size. I will have a second look. 👍
Thursday and RM Williams, I only buy boots from these two brands, they are the best (regardless price)
Excellent stuff
I can't decide between the Arizona Adobe and the Terracotta!
They look similar, right? Arizona is tougher leather, Terracotta's more flexible
Thorogood gets the MocSpot nick. Need to see more them whites MP tho. Noiiice
Never interested in work boots and at first I thought people are insane to pay so much money. Now I slowly understand why. Good investment in long term and saves the planet too.
What is your opinion on the Jim Green Razorback boots? Thanks for your time!
Just for information, the Brass Boots by Grant Stone are not made in the USA, their website states "Every pair crafted on Xiamen Island, China" - I won't be buying a pair of those if they were $50! Thanks for the interesting video, some nice boots.!
What do you think of Whites Main Street boots. Curious the difference between them and their MPs.
Not sure why my comment got deleted. Can you review rancourt and company boots?
What about Trickers ?
Loved your collection. Thank you from india
Thanks for watching Surya!
