Regarding the beings on Planet 4 NOT being Engineers: All the context clues in Alien lore points to the opposite. Prometheus ends with them heading to the Engineer home world. The architecture on that planet also matches and reacts to the Engineer's ship. All the beings on that planet also wave to the ship because they think their soldiers have returned. Furthermore, in the game 'Aliens: Fireteam Elite' we see an Ancient Engineer Temple which had a containment breach of the Black Goo Pathogen. The effects this had on the Engineers we see is the same as in Covenant as they turn to ash. This further supports the beings on Planet 4, indeed being Engineers. Moreover, from a story standpoint, it also fits the themes of the overarching story Ridley Scott is trying to tell. The irl reasoning behind them looking slightly different is merely to cut back on costs. It's well known that the original suit and design for the Engineer in Prometheus was long and difficult. Thus, it simply wasn't worthwhile to go through all of that to make 100's of them for a scene that lasted 30 seconds.
For them to be THE ENGINEERS they just seem very primitive wearing robes akin to biblical times living in brick and mortar structures using gates akin to castles granted this is the race that's supposed to be responsible for the creation of the human kind so they should be thousands if not hundreds of thousands of years more advanced than us yet they use concrete housing instead of I don't know energy field housing protection plasma containment instead of gates maybe energy fields instead of robes made of cotton maybe reactive silicone material for clothing. I mean at this point the engineers on their own home world planet seemed technologically inferior to the humans they were supposed to have created.
@@mmaallday118 he never ever once said that, there is so much misinformation and lore videos most people are watching which are either fake or debunked, RIDLEY CONFIRMED they were engineers and David kills them
@@TheMetatron Following on, Ridley explains that David has no respect for Engineers or Humanity and actually have developed a hatred of their species collectively: He hates them. He has no respect for Engineers and no respect for human beings.
Nope, Scott was clear that those werent engineers. In an interviews, Scott clarified that the engineers go around seeding different planets & study those creations. Therefore, the ppl in Alien Covenant were not engineers like we saw in Promethesus, they are the product of the engineers seeding that planet. The species worship the engineers, similar to how humen did in the past, as was shown in the cave paintings in promethesus.
At this point ridley should just release a movie completly dedicated about engineers. Literally 90% of the fanbase cares more about this engineers than the xenos lol
@@gingerking2900It’s literally the same plot every time….tough woman and AI survives while everyone else dies, she ends up killing all the aliens, only for one to miraculously survive! At least the Engineers story creates some variety and genuine intrigue.
The fan base alone is probably a fraction of overall viewers. Most dollars want xenos and scares. The dedicated fan base want consistent lore and engineers explored.
He literally had a chance to do that after Prometheus, but he went with the 'Alien: Covenant' route and ruined everything all together. Old fart. Should've retired long time ago. Gladiator 2 ffs
This hits the nail on the head. The fact that there are so many YT videos trying to explain “who are the engineers?”, “did they seed life on many planets?”, “why do they hate humans?”, “is there an alien queen?”, “who lays the alien eggs?”, “what is the black goo?”, yadda, yadda, shows the sloppy, incoherent and disjointed writing of Prometheus and Covenant (haven’t seen Romulus yet). It’s like trying to complete a jig saw puzzle using pieces from 5 different unrelated sets.
@@mitchjames9350 Different ship, different engineer. If you think about it, you get the black goo from the alien. Prometheus has a mural of the alien. Basically this would mean that the alien was an older weapon. Kind of like the Atom bomb vs the Hydrogen Bomb. Black Goo is the better weapon of the same origin. Thus LV-426 is basically the equivalent of a radioactive accident. Hence the warning signal. But yeah for the most part, it really just is writers not agreeing with each other and making up random crap.
The Engineers are such a missed opportunity in this franchise. They wanted to max out mystery and foreshadowing and it was all very frustrating. Engineers are also supposed to be the perfect being, they should be like a Predator on steroids, but beautiful and gracious and with even more advanced tech. We should have had a scene of engineers casually ripping xenomorphs and/or predators in half with their bare hands.
Part of why those scenes in "Alien" with "the derelict" and the "Space Jockey" were so good was because it was all so, well, alien. It was humans stumbling across a derelict alien spaceship where the inhabitants had fallen victim to another kind of alien, and none of it had anything to do with us humans. And then "Prometheus" came along and made it all about us humans all along anyway.
I see it exactly the same way as you. Everything was much more exciting as an unknown, mystery, no answers just empty void. Also I preferred the begining of the saga, when just one, deadly creature hunt for the crew, they tryin hard to survive in total mess. Later on it became a boring, Doom-like massive shooter.
@@BBoySewo Couldn't agree more. Obviously sequels can't recreate the "unknown" feeling that you get from the original, so have to switch things up in other ways ... but I was never entirely happy with "Aliens" going full bug-hunt with hordes of xenos getting blown away easily by big guns. It's a different kind of film, more like "Starship Troopers" ... but a decade before that film. "Aliens" is a lot of fun in its own right, but it arguably devalues the near-unkillable xeno from the first film, reducing them to dumb drones that just come at you in numbers. I guess it didn't help that the theatrical cut of "Aliens" didn't even include the only scene that shows them to have _some_ intelligence: the scene with the autoguns where the xenos eventually stop throwing themselves into the bulletstorm and try a different approach instead.
@@blatherskite3009 they sure can recreate unknown feelings and conjure up those same types of emotions from an audience as Alien did.. the writers have to simply keep certain things mysterious, giving just enough to ignite an audience's imagination, and the art direction needs to adhere to that as well. The derelict and space jockey worked so well because it was very hard to comprehend when we saw it. We weren't sure if the creature was part of the chair, if it's arms were free to move etc.. that made it really hard for the audience to digest. When Scott revisited the Jockey.. all of the sudden they were labeled as our creators, they were bipedal humanoids, wore biomechanical suits and were not part of the chair or ship. All of those alien traits vanished and the name engineer even explained a supposed purpose. Everything was too relatable.. at least for me. Had he not done that and offered something like.. they were actually biomechanoid beings that evolved into a living machines with a sole and single purpose.. they would have remained very Alien as well as allowed future beings with the same biomechanoid nature just different purposes to be introduced. The shock and awe factor could definitely have persisted. All of the "alieness" was also stripped away by Cameron when he introduced the queen, hive and drone. We went from a completely unrelatable creature, its purpose and life cycle to something found in everybody's backyard.. an ant mound and colony. How could that ever be made alien and mysterious again? That direction can't.. as entertaining as it is.
Soon they are doing to make engineers just evolved humans who traveled back into the beginning of time and make us them/us to make shit more dumb and confusing
prometheus was exactly what you described what you like. Covenant is the movie what ruining everything with its garbage david created the whole universe bullshjt
Eh sort of...it was rebel angels who procreated with humans to produce giants (nephilim) and fierce, demigod-like men (gibborim). So it's an "ancient aliens" interpretation of that.
Engineers are the thieves of the fire, who the God it was stolen from is yet to be revealed. We're just bystanders... or perhaps rogue homunculus. What if the reason a fetus and pathogen results in an engineer.... is because we're the beta base for their procreation. Perhaps engineering themselves to be spacefairing steralized them as a species. ???
@@Nunya_Bidness_53 Stuff like that sounds good for making interesting stories and lore but the complete misinterpretation of the Bible to get such idea off the ground is kind of tiresome to me. There were no real giants back then, just tall men, we still have some today and some races of people have a taller average height. The men of renown or tyrants were just powerful individuals in the bible, not any mixed race of angelic and human. Nimrod for example would have been one of them according to scripture, he was one of the first "Might man" and he was simply just a very skilled hunter, he was the great grandson of Noah and a King Post flood. The bible also says Angels do not reproduce so that idea is not possible based off the same book that people use for the whole Nephilim thing. I also find it weird that on one hand they'll cap the Engineers lifespan at 150 years old, which isn't far from Max human age in real life around 120, and the bible had humans in the start of humanity living Max 969 year old, which would be Methuselah in the bible. Rebel angels as a concept is not inaccurate, but it's like saying "former employee" you're not an employee anymore but that doesn't change what you function as yourself, you're still you, just no longer employed. Rebel angel according to the bible=Demon. They can't reproduce, they're not physical entities, but they can interact with things or possess people, but according to the bible there seems to be rules. God's angels do battle Demon's according to scripture, so they're still powerful entities and we see 1 angel is capable of easily killing 1000 humans, again, according to scripture and The Bible says there's millions of them. People are taking bits and pieces to create their universes and mixing Christianity, the Roman pantheon, Greek gods etc, Science Fiction, Evolution, misinterpretations and so on to get Aliens lore.
Angels are not supposed to reproduce doesn’t mean they can’t and fallen angels and demons are completely different entities Demons are the spirits of dead Nephilim
@@drjonesey5 Wrong. Angels don't reproduce **among themselves** because they're all dudes (at least that's the form they take throughout Scripture whenever they appear to anyone). Maybe they're not exactly "male", not being physical organisms, but they're unvaryingly depicted as powerfully *masculine* . The "angels of God which are in Heaven" who neither marry nor are given in marriage, don't do so because all the 😽 is on EARTH, and they didn't "leave their first estate" to go chasing after it. The "rebellion" of the rebel angels was precisely that they decided to come to Earth and take physical form (spirits can do that, including YHVH who sat down to dinner with Abraham and used to go for afternoon walks with Adam and Eve) and use that form to cohabit and interbreed with human women. Producing literal giants much bigger than Goliath and such, as well as "demigod"-like heroes that became the basis for legends such as that of Hercules or Perseus. But that's not all they did. They also taught mankind what we would call "genetic engineering" resulting in a variety of chimerae that became the basis of myths and legends about minotaurs, centaurs, etc. until every S.O.B. and their brother had an "octo-parrot" or some similar atrocity, and "all flesh was corrupted". So God had to flush the ecological toilet and start over with a pure sampling of life forms. But when it comes to later, lesser giants like Goliath and Og, or Nimrod: they are a result of a strain of this genetic tampering surviving mainly through Ham's wife and especially Canaan her son. In Nimrod's case the Septuagint says simply: "Nimrod became a giant". I.E. a latent mutation manifested in adulthood which resulted in gigantism. I could add that the "serpent" (basically a pejorative for a deceptive Seraph) was trying to do just this with Eve; to seduce her and produce a hybrid race to supplant Adam and his divinely appointed rule of the Earth. That's why the curses on Eve and the serpent are about sex, relationships and reproduction; while Adam is merely told "Welp, agriculture is gonna suck for you from now on." Cuz all he did was steal some fruit. Eve is told she'll bear children all right; lots of the, often, and with great pain. She might want to rule over Adam, but HE would rule over HER. (Implying that she was planning to bear children but not with Adam, and to subvert him.) The rebel Seraph (the Devil as we now call him) was told that now he and the woman, and their respective seeds, would be enemies, and her Seed would crush his head, though he might strike His heel.(Implying the two had planned to be VERY close indeed and mingle their "seeds" or genes, and establish Satan's "headship" or rule over the earth.) Also Adam's angry " this *woman* you gave me" is the outburst of a cuckolded husband if I ever done heard one.
If thai is true then it has a lot o religious themes a about it. Basically it proves why Engineers fear us: we can do what they do without shame to others. The Engineer's ideal society is planet 4. The religious theme is basically a theme of the death if Able from his brother Cain which is us.
@aaronkoenders4810 My theory is that the actual engineers look like the suits the faux-engineers were wearing, like the one from the first alien. They're also much bigger and I believe likely bio-mechanical. Being geneticists Im sure they're also genetically altered themselves to a high degree, like giving themselves that trunk-like appendage that helps filter the air or something. Maybe the suits the faux engineers wear are like an exoskeleton that resembles the anatomy of the true engineers, for practical reasons like surviving in low atmosphere or foreign environments. It's similar to how humans often design technology taking other lifeforms adaptations into consideration. I think this is kind of what Ridley Scott wanted to imply. The engineers at the beginning of Promotheus were therefore not the true engineers either, but rather their creations who wanted to continue their genetic line in a proxy species (humans) for whatever reason and then took off.
@@krzosu Just to clarify; the xenomorph existed before the Engineers. The real question is; what created the xenomorph, or the black goo that the Engineers discovered.
@@asemov2707 "Just to clarify; the xenomorph existed before the Engineers" - I guess this is where we have to split cannon (aka what was in the movies) to non canon (aka from comics, novels, games) In the cannon - so far there was no evidence on the screen that to be true - it is quite heavily implied that xenos bear remarkable resemblance to any other enigneer organic technology - which kinda implies they were created by them. In the novels it was said the engineers were fascinated by idea of creation of life - and that culminated in creation of the xenomoprh as kinda ultimate lifeform - pinacle of being capable of its creation adaptation and destruction. It's also not a coincidence that any engineer related planet was infested by xeno as a result (heavily implied in the games) that whenever enginers were - some sort of xeno was also present - except for the planets where Yutja seeded xenos for hunting purposes ofc.(say.. like on ancient earth for eg).
I'd like to think Engineers hated us was because we did what they could also do, created living beings, which is why the Engineer in prometheus only began to attack the crew after it felt Davids body, realising he wasent living but was alive.
it is explained that he got mad and they wanted to destroy us because they regretted our creation. we did war, will killed each others and went downhill. so they took a human from earth (jesus) to teach them what they knew. but once they sent jesus on earth he got crucified because he was different and no one wanted to believe him. so they let the humans at their own fate. there is a video about the cutscene where the engineer speaks before attacking them, and a transcript. it got deleted from the movie, so this is why it doesn't make sense.
The relationship between the Engineers, Xenomorphs, and humans in the "Alien" franchise is complex and has been subject to interpretation through various films, comics, and other media. Here's a synthesis based on the lore provided: Creation and Disappointment: The Engineers are depicted as an ancient species responsible for creating life on Earth, essentially playing the role of gods or advanced bioengineers. However, they became disappointed with humanity due to our actions, which they might see as a betrayal or failure of their experiment. This disappointment leads to a desire to eradicate humans, as seen with their plans to destroy Earth's life with the black goo or other bioweapons. Worship of the Xenomorph: The Engineers don't "worship" Xenomorphs in a traditional religious sense as per the mainstream narrative, but there's an appreciation or fascination with the Xenomorphs' purity and efficiency as a life form. Here are some points that might be misinterpreted as worship: Perfection: Synthetics in the series, like David, view the Xenomorph as a 'perfect organism' due to its survival capabilities, adaptability, and predatory efficiency. This admiration might be shared by Engineers in terms of biological engineering; they might see the Xenomorphs as a pinnacle of their bio-weaponry or genetic manipulation capabilities. Cycle of Life and Death: Posts on X suggest a theory where Engineers value the cycle of life and death, seeing the Xenomorphs as an embodiment of this cycle-creation (through hosts) and destruction. This could be misconstrued as worship but is more about respecting or utilizing the Xenomorph lifecycle for their philosophical or practical ends. Artistic and Thematic Elements: In the context of the films, the Xenomorph's lifecycle might resonate with the Engineers' themes of creation and destruction, perhaps leading to an aesthetic or symbolic appreciation rather than worship. Hate for Humans: The hate or disdain for humans stems from: Humanity's Flaws: Humans are seen as having squandered the gift of life through war, environmental destruction, and moral decay, which could be seen as an affront to the Engineers' intentions or ideals. David's Actions: In "Alien: Covenant," David, an android created by humans, kills the Engineers on the planet he lands on, which might suggest to some that even their creations (humans through David) are inherently flawed or rebellious, further fueling disdain or a decision to reset the experiment that is humanity. Misinterpretation: The term "worship" might come from interpretations of scenes where Engineers interact with Xenomorph-related artifacts or biological material with a sense of reverence or purpose, but this is more about their role as creators and manipulators of life rather than deities in a religious context. In summary, Engineers don't worship Xenomorphs in the religious sense but might revere the concept or biological efficiency they represent. Their "hate" for humans comes from a place of disappointment and perhaps a decision that their experiment with humanity has failed, necessitating a cleanse or restart, which involves using creatures like the Xenomorphs or the black goo as tools for destruction and possibly new creation.
One thing that's clear is that the Engineers hate android technology. Presumably they have the advanced technology necessary to create them, but they instead use very convoluted biological methods to try and create life - even if it involves sacrificing their own lives in the process. The visceral violent and destructive reaction of the engineer to David indicates, I think, the level of hatred and rejection the Engineers have to android technology. But here's the irony - androids are indeed the next evolutionary step, in the creation of new life. By Alien 4, they have given themselves human emotions and show that they can overcome all of the flaws humans built into them, without any of this nonsense about being creepy killer xenomorphs or weird biological hybrids. These second generation synths have greater strength, lack of aging, superior dexterity, while also having humanity. The Engineers rejected this path, and the results were ... unfortunate. David rejects this path for a simpler reason. He hates humanity so much that he refuses to try and create new life the same way humanity did. But as an early model android, he lacks the scientific creativity to figure out some completely new way to try and create life. So he studies the methods of the Engineers simply because his hatred causes him to reject the only other method he is aware of. If only David had the vision of Call's creators, he could have jump started the android evolution revolution centuries earlier.
Blade runner and Aliens are in the same universe, eternal life aside another aspect of harvesting the xenomorph was to use them as weapons against the replicants in the outer moons, maybe Alien Earth will shed some insight into this
Sure they hate robotic life - that much is certain - i deliberaty didnt use the word artificial life because in essence by using the bio engineering they are creating arfiticial life as well just of the organic kind. One could explain such a distain for the AI becasue maybe at one point they did created it and then had to battle against it. that said their fascination with bioengineering is more like faith or a cult - so if this is about faith - then David was like a personification of sin to them thus the violent reaction aka he was everything they despised - firstly due to him being and inorganic life form and a literal dead end in terms of evolution and a third insult was that it was created by their own creations - aka humans made him instead of perfecting their own genome.
It makes sense from a religious point of view. An android like David would be an affront to their religious dogma of contributing to continual biological evolution. The engineer (ironic name) spreads his own biological evolutionary tree throughout the universe.....
A well put together video. It’s a shame Prometheus was edited so much that all the explanatory scenes made viewers confused. Hopefully we’ll get an extended version one day.
The original script of Prometheus is much more extended, and give much more answers than even extended (fun-made with cutscenes version) movie, who give more questions than answers. Same with Covenant.
one of the problems of the movie is it tried to provide an origin story. but the movie was so hollow if not empty. a sequel was made that never offered anything but an attempt for a cash grab
apparently ridley was writing a prometheus 2 to properly continue the origin story but so many fans complained saying they wanted xenomorphs hence he scrapped it and we ended up with covenant. im sure today most people wouldve rathered see the prometheus story properly finished than what we got.
Wait, ABD I didn't know you had another channel?!?? I'm subscribing right now. I've been following anime balls deep for years now. I appreciate you guys.
There is a mistake in this video. Black goo was different from original, sacred Deacon blood (used to create life in Prometheus opening scene). Black goo was unsuccesful experiment of Engineers trying to duplicate Xenomorph ancestor (Deacon) blood which resulted in catastrophic and deadly biological weapon.
I always assumed xenomorphs were a regular evolution who were found by the engineers. The engineers then used them for their own purposes. No clue how accurate that is in the lore however.
@@szachmatcom not sure what engineer drank was deacon blood as never heard that before but the black goo was 100 percent a nanite bio chemical weapon, david took it and experimented with it and elizibeth shaw , creating the first eggs and facehuggers etc, but its why the alien comes out metalic and has acid for blood like a battery, its basically nanite robots evolving very fast and using some biology mixed in etc so i somehow doubt it was deacon blood when its was basically nanite robots in goo in the weapon form he drops
@TheNocturnalEvil the science fiction novel All tomorrow's is about speculation of mankind's evolution and in regards to the humans who live in space they do eventually lose hair it's a logical conclusion for something that lives in a zero g environment
In the Aliens Colonial Marines game there is an easter egg that shows a hologram of two engineer ships. One is shaped like the one at the beginning of Prometheus and the other is the Juggernaut ship. They shot each other down which explains the crashed ship on LV-426. So there were two engineer factions which doing experiments with the black goo.
that was a brilliant breakdown man. the newer alien movies with the engineers in are fasinating and dark, i love watching these movies. i really hope they expand upon these stories in more movies. when you mentioned the predators fighting the engineers in the comics, wowser! Id love to see this in a movie!!!!!!!!
Honestly I kinda miss the old days from before Prometheus. Back when there were theories that the alien was some kind of parasite and the space jockey was just a part of a organic ship.
sooo theyre fallen angels or annunaki? yall noticed how the emerald tablets say the annunaki altered humanity but they never talk about who created humanity?
I love that all of this, at least for me, was completely obvious cause im Italian and these are part of basic history taught in school. In Romulus i had a big smile when I saw the image of the wolf with the 2 kids (Romolo and Remo are the real names btw) that is the animal of my city that was the first Roman colony in Italy. We have a statue in the city center of that image and seeing it on the spaceship of my favourite franchise was an amazing moment for me.
The engineers create through living organisms--humans create through machines. This is why David was so hated by the Engineer, they consider him an attempt to imitate living creation.
There is one problem with the invitation to go visit them.... the images of the being pointing to the planets.... WHO would tell anyone "this is where we make weapons... this is not where we live but where we make the black goo". WHY would these engineers give out the location of their weapons base??! It does not make sense. It is not their home they are showing humans. It isn't an invitation at all.
@@MrSidney9 and maybe they've used the goo to make themselves spacefairing.... which is why the ones in paradise are different. Ridley needs to stop trying to be deep and artistic and just make a good movie that doesn’t require homework to understand. The lore of the Engineers and their relationship with humans is very interesting. Also the link between the engineers and Aliens is a great set up for more stories.
Fun fact: the Deacon in the end of Prometheus merged with the ship via its accelerated evolution just like the queen that was found in the ship. Eventually it became a literal mountain.
One simple thing I do not understand is why bother creating Xenomorphs to cleanse the plant. With their advanced technology you think they would have something easy to wipeout mankind. A pathogen, a death ray, a poison, whatever, but not having to create these awful creatures. And if the engineers think humans suck, what do they think about the Xenomorphs they are creating?
I honestly think that the engineers were created by xenomorphs. Just as synthetics are created by humans. Engineers kill their creator, then create humans, which in turn kill the Engineers, who are then killed by their own synthetic creation. Its almost like a theme in the movies, create, destroy, create.....cycle repeats. I believe the Z-01 liquid or black goo is actually the creator and the destroyer of all life in the universe. In Prometheus and Covenant the design of the interior of the Engineers space craft has a resemblance to the black bug like secretion on the walls of a Xenomorph infected area. Their armor and space suits also match this. Then there is the mural in Prometheus. I could just be grasping at thin air, but none of this has been explained yet and will remain my head cannon till then. Thanks for reading! Awesome vid btw!
No engineers worshipped the original deacon because it gave life by its blood the last deacon blood was used to create earth. Since they had nomore blood they try recreate it but they created black goo advance unstable nano machines and it back fired making the evil. Technically that original deacon in the mural was good the xeno is the evil
how where the engineers created by xenomorphs when alien covenant is legit all about how david created xenomorphs........the black goo was a nanite bio chemical weapon then david then used elizibeth shaw to experiment with and created the first eggs and facehuggers, facehuggers are legit made from 2 hands, womens private part, and part of spine for the tail, the whole film is a ironic play on we create robots and think we are god, our gods hate us, david watched the engineer throw the human in disgust so then decided to be his own god and create a race which would then come back to haunt us......and you can youtube this just by searching david experiments on elizibeth shaw extended scenes or blue ray scenes somehting like that
Well David didn’t create the xenomorphs….he re-discovered them. If he did create them then how is there a mural of one in Prometheus in the engineers ship…. I do agree that David recreated them using the black goo which is a bio weapon, in the deleted scene the engineer also says that it’s the blood of their gods.
@@jperry32p1 david created the xenomorphs that we see in alien 1 to 4, he didnt re-create them, he used elizabeth shaw and the black goo, which im pretty sure the engineers didnt so how did he re create them, that makes no sense and its not a mural of what david created its as you say a mural to their god, and remember david spent time on their planet, like a long time experimenting on shaw, so he probably saw the mural on the planet and in some sick joke acting as god wanted to create his new beings in the image of the engineers gods, as remember he despised them so what better way to terrorize them than to bring their god to life
@@doombug388 the official canon ALIEN: COVENANT novel has a passage where David admits to merely finding the Facehugger and Alien eggs already on Paradise " In case you were wondering, I had nothing to do with it. It lies as I found it, a supreme example of the Engineers' skill. And also, their hubris, I suppose. Would that I create something so perfect in its function? I try but I don't have thousands of years of practice in biological and genetic engineering. I only have my pitiful programming on which to draw."
Love this! Please do MORE!!! I would like to really know how the Predators got the Xenomorphs and if they have any real connections with the Engineers.
Engineers had a castes society, the militants and lead/elder castes decided to destroy humas as they were not evolving as deemed propper to whatever expectations they had (Most old Mythology implies humans stopped worshiping appropriately on gods eye) other castes that served the ruling castes disagreed with the judgement on humanity and boicoted the destruction mission and gave humanity a chance as Prometheus did for humanity in Greek Myth
I thought in Romulus the baby looked like the Engineers because the core essence that was extracted from the face hugger to enhance humans was that of the Engineers. Proving the Engineers did if fact create the base core of the Alien.
nice to see you guys venturing beyond anime, scifi and weird tales are incredible, dune, lovecraftian tales, alien v predator universe, 40k warhammer, they all tale stories about how humanity could be doomed by greater threats and I love them
The people weren’t ready for the story of Prometheus, they complained when it didn’t have any Xeno’s in it then in Covenant they complained it had too many Xeno’s in it -_-
Nobody asked for an Aliens universe and for Xeno lore to get deep if we're being honest. People just wanted to see a horror Alien movie and give some clarity on the main protagonist. This reminds me of "The Thing" lore. They got The thing comics and characters running around from that series when most fans just wanted to see a sick creature that disguises itself to get rid of folks and what would it do next. I think, the series that went deep with Aliens that did it better was Half Life and Dead Space, and it worked as a game not a movie. Dead Space got too wacky at the end with the Brother moon stuff. Halo works well too with Aliens. Notice how when people keep Aliens to Horror stalking unbeatable being it performs well, but when they go lore deep and do foolish casting and such it doesn't. The Xeno's have to be scary and more ambiguous. The more we know the less scary they are. Jeepers creepers made this mistake, showing the monster in the Day time and going too lore deep.
The hubris. Half of the shit talkers couldn't write a script to save their lives, but believe they can critique a work of art that has classic status. 🙄 Shit talking for the sake of shit talking...
11:18 when you understand god then you understand how this is the biggest mistake. It’s the ultimate gift to be able to share the self and become entangled with all. It’s a gift to the engineers to share like a seed and when we murder and beat and disrespect ourselves and each other it’s a disrespect to them and what they shared with us, we don’t own this life. Maybe if we shared then we could have a life like that, never dead and always shared and able to return.
in regards to how engineers view humans, Imagine if we created robots developed an AI that suddenly became sentient and was aggressive. We would be cautious with them too.
My girlfriend had an interesting theory and it aligns with the fact they deleted the scene where the engineer speaks. David is revealed in Alien: Covenant to be a liar and a manipulator; it is also revealed that he SEEMS to have emotions but IN FACT DOES NOT share in the phenomenological perceptions of emotions. Based on his behavior throughout Prometheus, David is the one who resents humanity; moreso than the engineers. So it is highly likely he did not ask the aforementioned question that Weyland told him to ask the engineer, he could have said something to piss him off. The ship seemed to be destined for earth; yes; the cargo was black goo; yes; the ship may have been meant to destroy humanity during the roman empire; yes; there was something that went awry on the ship; yes. BUT the element of forgiveness was part of Christ's agenda (if we are to believe the engineers were upset with humanity due to the death of Jesus... note that i hate that western religious ideology has sank it's way into the alien films); however, if we examine the bible and the talk of revelations / end of times / concept of forgiveness / etc. it conflicts with the concept of Engineers coming back to attack humanity with a violent rage-like mentality... idk.. perhaps i am reaching for a better story than "they hate us cause we killed jesus", it ruins the alien franchise imo
What I heard previously is that jesus was actually human, but taken by engineers to their planet, so he would be able to teach the rest of the humans, not that he was an engineer
Jesus is God in the flesh, humbled and came down from his throne of authority over all things to teach his creation how to earn our way back home. Y'all just can't go a day without bringing Jesus into the question bruh.
It's amazing how Alien and the prequels have become more relevant than any of the Star Wars films from the past decade. Like does anyone wanna even talk about the sequel trilogy anymore? 😅
Black goo that engineer drank to make humans was deacon blood. Black goo in vials was the attempt to recreate deacon blood when the real stuff ran out.
No, all of that is from a fake fan-made script, unfortunately. Damon Lindelof personally confirmed it was fake back in 2012. People only think it's real because some UA-cam channels claim it is, but you can easily disprove that with a little research.
The Engineer was caught by surprise by the giant face hugger had it been given time to anticipate this creature I'm thinking the Engineer could've dispatch the abomination.
What you said - The Engineers traveled to different planets with advanced technology. What you should have said - The Engineers, using advanced technology, traveled to different planets. Those are two very different things.
I've heard people say Ridley confirmed David created the xenomorphs but I have no way to confirm this myself, but you're saying the black goo came from xenomorphs not xenomorphs were created by the black goo correct?
its literally what alien covenant is ALL about, david experiments with the black goo, (being a nanite bio chemical waeapon) on elizibeth shaw and created the first eggs and facehuggers using the black goo and her womb, the facehuggers are legit made from like hands, womens private part, and abit of spine or something makes the tail, just search youtube for david experiments on shaw extended scenes
Think about it please... If these "Engineers" manufactured all sorts of bio weapons, wouldn't it be logical to think of humans as one of their failed weapons and therefore despise humans.
do you hear yourself when you talk?? we are not failed weapons.. if we were.. the humans Us, would have already been wiped out. this doesnt make any sense.
One thing to remember, the engineer in Prometheus was in stasis for 2,000 years so when they reach the Paradise planet, it's 2,000+ years later, society may have changed drastically.
0:25 I have to wonder if spelling mistakes are deliberately done in UA-cam videos to drive engagement. It’s hard to believe anyone could miss this during editing, but I see this sort of thing constantly.
In my Theory Engineers and Xenomorphs simply the parallel evolutions of the same species, evolved from some form of parasitic fungus. While Xenomorphs evolved into beasts and capable of reproduction, Engineers evolved into sentient beings incapable of reproduction. And the only way for Engineers to find a way for reproduction and preservation of their kind - to reverse engineer their own DNA, which is similar to Xenomorph's. But each attempt to create Infant Engineer from reverse engineering failed, resulting in creation of Xenomorph in one form or another. And with it creation of Black Goo pathogen. In Fire and Stone comics, one scientists, while stranded on LV-223, started to theorize that Black Goo requires very complicated process of filtration after which it be used as evolution booster. And I believe Engineers came to same conclusions, using Planets as a filtration method. Even in new Alien movie it is noted that Black Goo after being refined still has parasitic side effect. Engineers are seeding planets with their own DNA, using the local flora and fauna as a filtration agents. And then they just release Black Goo on population to create Infant Engineers. But who exactly survives to become new Infant Engineers? New Born Babies. Take a look at Newborn Hybrid from new Alien movie and you will understand my idea. While Adult population of species with Engineer's DNA will die, new born babies will turn into cacoons to become New Infant Engineers.
Continued from my first post: 2)Engineers found the Alien hatcheries or created them billions of years ago and gotten contaminated by them. They would attack the rest of them fiercely, under the ruleship of an Alien Queen. Eventually they prevailed, marginally, resorting to kill hundreds of millions of their own kind in the process. Then on, they assembled the best of the best of the survivors that still had advanced Engineer DNA on them but where in controls of themselves and built massive fleets of starships and send those crews with their best of the best in all fields to the stars to find cures for their condition. To those staying back to the Paradise planet, the mutations resulted in prolonging their lives but reduce them to a sterile state, slowly at first but more and more rapidly in subsequent generations. Eventually practically a handfull remained, barelly enough to cater for themselves in roughly a small city sized population and without resources, due to the massive investment on the outworld fleets for labs they've been building. Nature did the rest and reclaimed the planet for itself. Though they had advanced bio-tech, the remaining Paradise Engineers weren't the brightest minds they had. So they reverted gradually to a pre-medieval tech state closer to Roman ages on Earth. In the meantime the starfaring Engineers where full on in conducting experimentations into breaking their EDNA into various compositions and making various species and sub-species they brought back to the labs to find both a cure and naturally defence of themselves against the uncontrolled results of the infection(not the controlled ones which would lead to results they ended up even worshiping). Some lost themselves in the way and ideolized the creatures and began enhancing themselves in the process. Some where exterminated after series of negative experiment results. Others where maddened and committed mass suicide generations after not beeing able to come up with a solution to their problems. Some, like the lab planet we see in Prometheus, which was one of the earliest missions never abandoned that cause. But they suffered an extinction level event after an experiment gotten out of hand as in most lab planets, since Deacons and Xenos are hard to deal with. The Engineer there is the last on that planet lab. So he is surprised and enraged in that the only succesful experiment of the seeding process he is aware of is sacriligious, obviously incompatible with their own kind as cure, not having the rest of his people around to start tests and so fragile they had to create an artificial being to help them that itself is of no comparison to the engineers either. And might even pose a threat to his own people back home, judging from their stated incentives. Then on he acts out of frustration for the futility of it all and plans to destroy everything on the lab planet and return home. In this scenario, the Paradise planet Engineers feel grateful that it seems that finally a cure for their condition seems to have been found and they can have a chance to thrive again. Also let us remember that when bombarded with the goo, the Paradise Engineers dissolve like in Prometheus. This means they will eventually help develop a new creature like them(or maybe just humanoid similar) in their planet, so all is not lost in this case for their species. And the fact that there are maybe thousands of them and not just one, might even accelerate the procedure considerably, since there is now much more dissolved genetic material. It could only take 1000 years or less, who knows for sure?
I’ve got one question for you regarding Romulus. Where did the facehuggers come from? One cocooned Xenomorph in space does not 20+ facehuggers make. If they had all these facehuggers why was finding the cocooned Alien so important? So many plot holes, and as big as Texas. Perhaps Fedé should have taken more time with the story. No pregnant woman is going to inject herself with a black goo she doesn’t know what it is. Ridiculous. Then the ending. After Resurrection no fan was asking for another albino hybrid mistake. He might have just ruined the franchise for a decade.
Dawg, it was a research station where they created face huggers.. c'mon man they literally said they used the sample from the alien movie after it solidified into a cocoon in space, it's literally the first scene in Romulus lol
Movie: Here is exactly how we were able to create the facehuggers. You: WOW SO MANY PLOT HOLES! Next time consider actually, idunno... WATCHING the movie? Instead of spending the entire runtime in the bathroom? Serious question: do you also think the Earth is flat?
I agree there are holes, not so much what you've mentioned. And this film has certainly saved the franchise. I just don't get how a bunch of oppressed minor miners have a ship, that can fly up to a detected space station, without being flagged.
You clearly were not paying attention to the movie. It was literally shown & explained in Romulus that Rook created the facehuggers through experimentation (much like David does in Covenant although they have different reasons). I mean, you can tell there was something going on since they all hatched from a special cocoon inside the lab, which locked them to prevent contamination.
Imagine...Engineer capable of nearly ripping apart a expirienced predator...but 2000 years ago gets killed by a bunch of humans not taller then 160cm in most cases :D this is so stupid on so manny lvl´s crazy.
The Engineers on LV-233 died because of the OUTBREAK. Which is likely due to Sabotage which the Last Engineer may have been involved with. It is a Good Question to ask why they never came back. Its likely that they had other Worlds like Earth... and being arrogant and naive..... thought if they abandoned us and left us to Rot... then without the Engineers help. We Technologically would never advance past what we were Thousands of Years ago.
the scene from Prometheus were sacrificial Engineer and older Engineer bow heads you see older Engineer as black liquid flowing through his veins, Prometheus scene with decapitated head on re-activation the black liquid also re-activates, These engineers may have been banished from Engineer real home world for genetically engineering themself with black liquid.
People missed the biggest clue in this movie……..The Repetition of a Cycle. David is a byproduct of human creation, and although he met not worship them, he inherited a destructive curiosity which will destroy humanity. Humans praise Engineers as gods for creating them. However, they inherited their curiosity and brought about their complete destruction via David. The Engineers worship The Deacon as a god……which means, The Xenomorph species is the progenitor of the Engineers and had a hand in their creation. The Deacon and/or Xenomorph is the PURE FORM of an alien life form that once existed. The creator killed by its creation is the theme of these tales. Also emphasized is the relationship between Peter Weyland and his daughter Meredith, where she wanted him dead so that she can replace him. Curiosity is a curse developed by the creation of the creator. The Creation will always be stripped of innate qualities of the creator and that’s what causes the curse. Because curiosity is born from that which does not or cannot know what should be known to them by nature. However, due to creation, they are void of……….a soul. David is Humanity. Humanity are The Engineers. The Engineers are likely the FIRST creation that went on to create more in search of becoming like their forebears, hence, the worship of The Deacon. The Original Species were likely almost certainly Asexual. The Engineers couldn’t give birth naturally, thus, lacking an essential element that would make them whole. Sex is a like a “cutting agent” which constantly decreases the species over time, meaning something is always lost in the byproduct of that process. Sex happened first. Technology happened after to obtain a piece that was cut from them. A fruit that desires to be a flower.
A high budget one hour 13 episode series would do well for Engineer lore (and 'their' possible creators). The Xenos could continue to be cinematic releases.
The engineers live for thousands of years. For them, speaking shaves years off their life. They are angels of a sort. Cant reproduce. Thats why they created other subspecies from themselves. They are higher lifeforms.
In my opinion, I love Prometheus and Covenant because it was just a new story and not heavily focused on the actual aliens and more why they even existed or where they came from. I really wish they could have a story more on the engineer society before they started impregnating planets across the galaxy and what caused them to start in the first place.
Definitely is canon, the developers had input from the Alien franchise consultant and lore master Andrew Gaska. He was hired by Fox to determine canon and is the lead writer for the Alien RPG. Aliens: Fireteam Elite is tier 2 canon, meaning it can only be superseded by a movie that changes its lore. Check out his blog post titled ‘Defining Canon in an Alien World’, which also definitely states predators are not and never will be part of the Alien universe. 🎉
We need another movie that goes into this level of detail about the origins. Maybe even call it "Alien: Origins" ... BUT it feels like the studios won't invest, or maybe Ridley isn't interested... but it would be cool.
There was also a similar theme In the most recent Deadpool movie. Timelines end a couple thousand years after the anchor being dies. The thing is most people was thinking about the Marvel universe, not our own.
That seems stupid. Ridley himself said they're not real engineers
@@mmaallday118 he never ever once said that, there is so much misinformation and lore videos most people are watching which are either fake or debunked, RIDLEY CONFIRMED they were engineers and David kills them
@@TheMetatron Following on, Ridley explains that David has no respect for Engineers or Humanity and actually have developed a hatred of their species collectively:
He hates them.
At no point does this video state engineers worship Xenomorphs or why.
could barly make it threw this video with how this guy talks
True!!
Yup, dumpster tier clickbait title.
Exactly what I came to say
that problem comes from the movie
At this point ridley should just release a movie completly dedicated about engineers. Literally 90% of the fanbase cares more about this engineers than the xenos lol
You’re pretty confident saying 90% of fans care more about the engineers lol
I dont give flying Fuh about some engineers. Just give me great horror with xenos.
This story is not an epic slowly being revealed to viewers. It’s a story being made up as it goes by different people. It’s convoluted and it shows.
exactly right! it's getting out of hand.
Agreed
This hits the nail on the head. The fact that there are so many YT videos trying to explain “who are the engineers?”, “did they seed life on many planets?”, “why do they hate humans?”, “is there an alien queen?”, “who lays the alien eggs?”, “what is the black goo?”, yadda, yadda, shows the sloppy, incoherent and disjointed writing of Prometheus and Covenant (haven’t seen Romulus yet). It’s like trying to complete a jig saw puzzle using pieces from 5 different unrelated sets.
It's called money and creativity, and the times you live in. That's it theres no cannon etc just selling entertainment@crhkrebs
@@LordBallSac “…the times you live in.” I guess coherent story telling is not part of the times we live in.
Lets face it, in Alien the Engineer was not anything like the later versions, the writers were just making it up as they went along
Exactly as Prometheus contradicts everything in Alien with the ship being so old.
Different ship, different engineer
@@mitchjames9350 Different ship, different engineer. If you think about it, you get the black goo from the alien. Prometheus has a mural of the alien. Basically this would mean that the alien was an older weapon. Kind of like the Atom bomb vs the Hydrogen Bomb. Black Goo is the better weapon of the same origin. Thus LV-426 is basically the equivalent of a radioactive accident. Hence the warning signal.
But yeah for the most part, it really just is writers not agreeing with each other and making up random crap.
Just further evidence of Ridley Scott's bloated ego
Agreed
The Engineers are such a missed opportunity in this franchise. They wanted to max out mystery and foreshadowing and it was all very frustrating. Engineers are also supposed to be the perfect being, they should be like a Predator on steroids, but beautiful and gracious and with even more advanced tech. We should have had a scene of engineers casually ripping xenomorphs and/or predators in half with their bare hands.
That happens in the Prometheus: Fire and Stone comic series.
So your basically promoting steroids and tech got it ✍️ buy steriods and ✍️ buy new iPhone 16 got it
I might be one of the only people that like prometheus
Nope. I think its visually stunning with real/fake places and the vfx. Guy Peirce walking as old Wayland is a hoot.
It’s pretty popular and there is endless videos on it so I’d so not even close, welcome to the fan club!
Definitely. Take out the unbelievably stupid bits and it's pretty solid
Nope
I loved it. People complain about everything. They are never satisfied.
The writer of Prometheus likely used the Nephilim from Genesis 6 (giants who procreated with humans) for the engineers.
Angels are not supposed to reproduce doesn’t mean they can’t and fallen angels and demons are completely different entities
Demons are the spirits of dead Nephilim
(Implying that she was planning to bear children but not with Adam, and to subvert him.)
The rebel Seraph (the Devil as we now call him) was told that now he and the woman, and their respective seeds, would be enemies, and her Seed would crush his head, though he might strike His heel.(Implying the two had planned to be VERY close indeed and mingle their "seeds" or genes, and establish Satan's "headship" or rule over the earth.)
Also Adam's angry " this *woman* you gave me" is the outburst of a cuckolded husband if I ever done heard one.
The beings on planet 4 were not engineers, they were a species created by them just like us. That’s why they look similar but aren’t the exact same

Their armour/suits resemble xenomorph exoskeleton.
Well both are bioneenginered One is a suit the other is a killing machine.
No shit
@@krzosu Just to clarify; the xenomorph existed before the Engineers.
The real question is; what created the xenomorph, or the black goo that the Engineers discovered.
@@asemov2707what implies that?
6:12 That’s actually a deacon. Same thing born from the engineer at the end of Prometheus.
Ridley Scott said that they hated us cause they sent us Jesus and what we did
@@tommyrenda7724what the Jews did
The relationship between the Engineers, Xenomorphs, and humans in the "Alien" franchise is complex and has been subject to interpretation through various films, comics, and other media. Here's a synthesis based on the lore provided:
Creation and Disappointment: The Engineers are depicted as an ancient species responsible for creating life on Earth, essentially playing the role of gods or advanced bioengineers.
Here are some points that might be misinterpreted as worship:
Perfection: Synthetics in the series, like David, view the Xenomorph as a 'perfect organism' due to its survival capabilities, adaptability, and predatory efficiency.
Hate for Humans: The hate or disdain for humans stems from:
Humanity's Flaws: Humans are seen as having squandered the gift of life through war, environmental destruction, and moral decay, which could be seen as an affront to the Engineers' intentions or ideals.

This right here
It makes sense from a religious point of view.
I think it's best with out answers or reason, like life
The original script of Prometheus is much more extended, and give much more answers than even extended (fun-made with cutscenes version) movie, who give more questions than answers.
We need a trilogy of movies where Engineers, Aliens, and Predators fight each other.
Their not creative or original anymore
and Terminator
Engineers kick the shit out of predators one on one and are way smarter than xenomorphs
They should film a grande finale, thousands of starships shoot lasers to each other in a great space battle 1vs1vs1vs1
Add Also Deadpool and Darth Vader (there was an animation where Vaders chest was bursted and and DarthAlien poped out). I mean Disney owns it right ?
Wait, ABD I didn't know you had another channel?!??

So who created the xenomorph? And why does the black goo turn humans into crazied monsters but breaks down the engineers DNA.
That could just be a dose size thing.
@@szachmatcomthat makes no sense.
A bigger question, why are Engineers bald?
So much technology yet they couldn't stop balding.
They don't have hair because they weren't mixed with ape DNA to be created.
Hair becomes impractical when traveling through the void of space compared to us living our entire life cycle in a terrestrial environment
@@wanicki3579 So bald people are more aerodynamic, so shall I consider balding the next stage of our human evolution...🤣...?

Implying they had hair in the first place.
Predators, Engineers , Aliens whom should we trust
None of them 😂😂😂😂😂
Predators. They only kill you if you are seen as a worthy hunt. If not they almost always leave you alone
As a smoker and drinker I’d take the predators 😂 they wouldn’t see me as sport so I’m sure I’d be safe
At least the predators are consistent
Predators because technically they don’t bother humans unless u have weapons lol

that predator was old and the comic to that story fucking sucked.

Id love to see this in a movie!!!!!!!!
Honestly I kinda miss the old days from before Prometheus. Back when there were theories that the alien was some kind of parasite and the space jockey was just a part of a organic ship.

We have a statue in the city center of that image and seeing it on the spaceship of my favourite franchise was an amazing moment for me.
@0:25 spelled "planet" wrong

That makes no sense
It's actually confirmed. I didn't believe it either a couple days ago but there's literal proof of it. @@mitchjames9350
Deacon also survived a zombie apocalypse by using a motorcycle .
I agree that it makes no sense and is stupid, but that’s a story from one of the comics released after Prometheus

Bro I’m the movie they said engineers can live for hundreds of years
Continued from my first post:
2)Engineers found the Alien hatcheries or created them billions of years ago and gotten contaminated by them.
It could only take 1000 years or less, who knows for sure?
no one is going to read this crap... keep youre comments short.. because no one cares about this big ol page. NEXT!

Great breakdown my guy. 👍
He might have just ruined the franchise for a decade.
it was just a massive plot hole after plot hole - in essence they tried to blender things from all the movies and this was the outcome.
Scott just threw "the engineers" into the mix on a whim. Even HE has no real explanation for them. 🙄😒

The alien that crash landed in the first movie was not an engineer, I don't care what storyline they try to spin
5:58 Those are not engineers but another race created by them
People missed the biggest clue in this movie……..The Repetition of a Cycle.
Fk the xenomorphs. We want an extended movie about the engineers.
fook you dude.. the engineers are actually ruining the alien franchise.. take that shit outta here..
Ridley Scott just jaked off too much
The Annunaki
In my opinion, I love Prometheus and Covenant because it was just a new story and not heavily focused on the actual aliens and more why they even existed or where they came from. I really wish they could have a story more on the engineer society before they started impregnating planets across the galaxy and what caused them to start in the first place.
Aliens: Fireteam elite is not canon. The games should not be canonized because they are just video games, which are horribly written fanfics.
The alien game is canon.
“Horribly Written Fanfics” Are you the fun police?
Definitely is canon, the developers had input from the Alien franchise consultant and lore master Andrew Gaska. He was hired by Fox to determine canon and is the lead writer for the Alien RPG. Aliens: Fireteam Elite is tier 2 canon, meaning it can only be superseded by a movie that changes its lore.
Check out his blog post titled ‘Defining Canon in an Alien World’, which also definitely states predators are not and never will be part of the Alien universe. 🎉
@@IronymousYTIlliterates like you have a very watered down idea of fun
We need another movie that goes into this level of detail about the origins. Maybe even call it "Alien: Origins" ... BUT it feels like the studios won't invest, or maybe Ridley isn't interested... but it would be cool.
I thought they originated from a bad script.
There was also a similar theme In the most recent Deadpool movie. Timelines end a couple thousand years after the anchor being dies. The thing is most people was thinking about the Marvel universe, not our own.
