      +Aesthetic.. its really not worth it. Your better off boosting an fg2. Cost of a KW supercharge and all the support mods along with it is like 8-10K.. I mean, hey, if you got the money, go for it, but for 10K you could have your motor totally built, sleeved, and boosted and make over 500hp lol.. Maybe not top of the line parts and name brands, but youd still have a wild car that would be way faster than this and the motor would be a lot stronger for future swaps if you want to get a different body.

    This the kit i plan on getting for my 9thgen FB6.
    I understand turbo has way more room for power but to me that is only if u want to drag it..but reliability and daily use is important to me..so I chose S/C over turbo.
    My goals are 350-400 whp and that’s enough power already for a 3000 lbs car.
    Cost is about 6-7 K. I have already put 6.7 K into my fbo FB6... 😓

    Im so glad u did this video because I hope u soaked up a lot of what that kid was telling u.
    When you asked him what a/f ratio he tries to keep his motor at... Remember he has a supercharger. With all the extra pressurized air going into the motor he must be able to add the correct amount of fuel to get that power and to protect the motor.
    In so many other of your past vids u emphasize SO MUCH about ur tune/mixure. Currently your SI is N/A... You dont need to spend so much thought / $ on flash tunes or even dyno tunes. Your motor is NOT gonna blow up nor are you gonna see that much gain if anything.
    Save your time and $ and focus on actually getting some form of forced induction turbo/supercharger and then you can think about tunes.

    I have been told that KW supercharger feels more like N/A compared to turbo cars, is that true???? If that makes any sense hehe.

    • @brandnewty
      @brandnewty 6 років тому +1

      Superchargers function more like an N/A car because they are belt driven, basically amplifying the N/A setup. Turbo Cars rely on exhaust pressure so build boost with RPMs and hit a power spike once the turbo spools up, especially the bigger the turbo housing.

    • @kridicalxsi1177
      @kridicalxsi1177 6 років тому

      Dumb Dead1 it only pulls uptop it doesn't have almost any boost down low so it had the exact same powerband we already have one of the main reasons I didn't get it

    • @anthonyaguilar9960
      @anthonyaguilar9960 6 років тому +1

      Dumb Dead1 it's some what true because when you have a turbo. You get what you call turbo lag . So when you step on the gas you basically get nothing,nothing,nothing, then boom it pulls. While super chargers don't have lag ,you get instant power throughout the whole rev range. So yes they are similar to feeling like they are n/a. Just a powerful one lol. If my message confuses you let me know I can try to be more clear

    • @aoucelloutus3573

      its a kraftwerks supercharger, its not a roots supercharger like a on a mustang, its a belt powered centrivical supercharger.

      @ryanoliver9131 4 роки тому +1

      These blowers don’t have the whine. Positive displacement blowers the roots and twin screw have the whine. Centrifugal blowers like vortech and rotrex are just belt driven turbos

    • @noblewon3507
      @noblewon3507 6 років тому

      Gerb Productions Tru been monitoring stuff.. I think I have a value issue I have a slightly rattle noise around 3 grand stops if I really gas it.. or around 4 grand .. Ill be intown around my tools gonna be replacing the values and springs with skunk2 high performance so I can beat it up a little more.. if that's not the problem I think it's in the gears .. time to swap it out maybe.. I'd like to rebuild it better then it was.. but headers and values/springs in about a week!!!!!

    • @noblewon3507
      @noblewon3507 6 років тому

      Gerb Productions what's ur knock count look like? And when in idle once warm what's ur a/f look like? 14.6-16.8? But does it fluctuate? I noticed mine goes a little over 15 or so for no reason..

    • @TheGerbsteve
      @TheGerbsteve  6 років тому +1

      I had 2 knocks on my last drive and that was 3 hours long... As far as a/f ratio, mines 14.6-14.7 at idle and light acceleration. Wot it’s about 12. As long as your car is not going over 15 AFR wot, you should be good. 15+ = lean

  • @Turdpuncher

    The comments were stupid that is a centrifugal blower ,a damn belt driven turbo it's not any better than a turbo it has parasitic drag ,u can build a reliable turbo setup for the same price if not less

    • @TheGerbsteve
      @TheGerbsteve  5 років тому

      I love turbo just as much... Only difference is it's a bit more work for a turbo set up

    • @Turdpuncher
      @Turdpuncher 5 років тому

      Gerb Productions true it's easier to bolt on and they make less torque which is great for fwd traction and they have instant throttle response. I guess the real issue is dependability vs drivability a person has to choose from ,they can't have both. Centrifugal blowers won't last and turbos aren't as streetable in a budget friendly setup

  • @mattij3814
    @mattij3814 2 роки тому

    Would a stage 2 clutch really not hold 400 hp on kraftwerks? I planned on going with a stage 2 clutch to hold around 360-380 fwhp on kraftwerks

    • @TheGerbsteve
      @TheGerbsteve  2 роки тому

      I think it would… it’s the torque you have to worry about, not so much the HP. I’d rock stage 2 if I were you… shit, I was going to rock a stage 1 if I go boost

    • @VIPERFREAK16
      @VIPERFREAK16 Рік тому

      Stage 1 exedy and lightweight flywheel works fine on the street but as for strip where it's more grip stage 3+ is needed. Wheelspin saves clutches.

    What kind of engine does it have and is it reliable for everyday driving? I’m trying to build my Honda Civic and want it to be around 350hp and want to be able to drive it to work or any time I want and want to make it reliable at the same time. Can you give me any suggestions on car build?

    • @TheGerbsteve
      @TheGerbsteve  5 років тому +1

      K20z, 2.0L, dohc, ivtec. It is very reliable if obtaining the right one. Buying one of these would be a great choice for that power number. I'd find yourself an 06-11 Si, 02-06 rsx type s, or 13'-15' Si. These cars all come stock with basically 200hp. Now put some bolt ons, forced induction, and great tune, you're looking at netting an extra 50-150hp depending on set up. Can't go wrong with a K series ;)
