Ever wanted to wrap a piece of armor in some fabric rather than paint it? It's a lot easier to accomplish than you might think and you only need a few supplies to do it! I decided to use this technique for the thin flaps on Sylvie's breastplate as opposed to painting it.

This wasn't quite the tutorial I was looking for but I'm still gonna watch it all the way thru. I was looking for the inverse of this because I'm looking into gluing foam parts to a fabric suit but this is still very useful to learn and a great tutorial!
Thank you so much! I appreciate this tutorial so much!
you're welcome!
So I'm working on crossbones cosplay, and about a month before you posted these videos I did all of this. I patterned it, I used glue to make it out of foam, and even used fabric to make it look like a tactical vest, now a couple weeks later you tell me how to do all those things better lol
that's awesome though! I'm sure your stuff looks great don't sell yourself short :D
@@vaultfox thanks!
Thank you! Making a Cruelty Squad cosplay, first one I've ever done. Haha
you're welcome! and good luck on your build!
nice
i'm kinda worried about foam tearing from pull when sewed since it's not what the foam
Lol, thanks. 😊👍🏻
You're welcome :D
That’s the Video I was looking for! What color do you use to paint it?
Hopefully I'll see you at DragonCon.
If you see me def say hi! I'm thinking of wearing Sylvie Thursday and then whenever I wanna change out of my other stuff over the weekend.
@@vaultfox awesome. I'm on the writers track but I'll definitely try to say hello.
Is it okay to use fo-leather fabric?
Edit^
Oh god you just answered my Q in the video.
haha, no problem!!! :) this method works the best with faux/stretchy type fabrics!
@@vaultfox Cool! And I love your videos on Sylvie! She's succhhh a great character. The only reason I'm doing my own Loki (female) variant is because 1. I don't wear wigs, 2. I wear glasses (my hair is very long, blonde, and curly), and 3. I look 16 (when I'm 13 now) and I look to young to be her.
Will Angelus paint stretch and bend without permanent creasing on faux leather?
So for this specific piece, it wasn't going to stretch because I put it over top foam. But when I used some angelus paints on the collar of her shirt (made out of a faux stretch vinyl) it chipped off and didn't stay.
It sewed was way better looking..
Yeah, I agree
