Viganò himself says he does not believe in Vatican II's teachings; he himself says he does not belong to the Church, believing that Pope Francis is not the successor of St. Peter. He has excommunicated himself, setting up a parallel Church, wearing the excommunication, as did Martin Luther as "a badge of honor" - his words .
Your lengthy commentary that I did painfully watch in all its fullness at the request of a friend is much ado about nothing. You've offered no authoritative Magisterial Teaching, just conjecture and opinion of non-authoritative saints quotes.
It's simple enough. Case is closed. Rome has spoken.
And....may I suggest that it's not your job to figure out publicly how "get out of this mess" - one which you are perceiving and are further adding to the scandal by detracting from our Holy Father.
Perhaps try using a hermeneutic of Charity and privately asking a spiritual director, and in doing so, please choose one who is faithful to the Church - Her Head and those Bishops United to Her Head - our Holy Father and His Magisterium.
This isn't rocket science.

If one considers the ratio of very good prelates to hirelings and wolves (perhaps 1 to 100? Hard to say) who have ascended rhe hierarchy, it should not be surprising at all. Those bishops and cardinals who demonstrate moral courage are often demoted, ignored, or canceled.
I guess that's because of the weaponised ambiguity he writes, and therefore, Pope Francis always seems to clarify things verbally when it suits him and allows blasphemous practises to flourish with the queer supporting clergy. I'm not sure if it's Pope Francis doing these things deliberately to flush out what he considers the divisive Trads? But for faithful Catholics it has allowed us the grace to choose to become zealous and more learned about our faith as it seems these times are allowed by pur good God for the sifting of goats and sheep.
Yes, i agree it's surprising 😮. But even just these most recent events shock the system to the reality of our blessed mother's forewarning g that in oir times Bishops will be against Bishops. Calling each other our as heretics ultimately will further divide the church, reduce it and refine it.

Dr. Moynihan, thank you for this interview. Please invite Dr. Mazza back to your show on a regular basis. He is able to cut through the chaff of confusion, and we are so in need of his scholarship. Dr. Mazza really should have a larger audience. I appreciate his distinguishing between the “sedevacantism” of which Apb. Viganò is irresponsibly accused, and the interregnum that we’re actually experiencing. People throwing this term around indiscriminately are kicking up a lot of dust in an already confused mess.

You weren’t wrong to attempt it and it isn’t a failure. Understand that Archbishop Viganó likely did not regard Bergoglio as pope and would’ve confronted him to his face as an anti-pope.

Agreed. While Dr. Moynihan’s charitable effort at reconciling the opposites is highly commendable, I don’t believe anything good would have come of it due to Bergoglio’s ill will.
For the apostate Bergoglio neither Christ nor the Church are necessary for salvation, only himself. Let us remember that we are talking about the one who deceives unrepentant sinners, atheists, schismatics, apostates and false religions by telling them that everyone is saved, but we see that Bergoglio makes an exception to threaten with excommunication "Latae Sentencia" only to those who do not join him in his rebellion against God and the Church.

I guess I'm a bit more jaded / concerned about the depth of corruption. It seems Moynihan is attempting to uphold an image by making comments as if Vigano's "filial submission" has been lacking, and the other bishops have been stting around piously lamenting it for some years now. He also stipped Mazza from making any reference to some of the more despicable examples.
This podcast is truthful and full of good information.
The "modern" church would probably not accept Cajetan because he is pre=Vatican II.
What is Moynihan talking about ? Mazza cites a fact that if a pope was a heretic prior to election it does not matter if te cardinals acclaim him he is not the pope. Where does his digression address this statement ?

Dr. Mazza is certainly knowledgeable and an excellent Catholic….but so is “the other guy.” Dr. Moynihan doesn’t deserve this ignorant dissing. He is charitable to a fault. That makes him very knowledgeable, not lacking.

As I listened carefully to Vigano he was talking ONLY about Francis NOT other popes not being popes. Although he seems to insinuate other former popes in PRIVATE opinions, NOT INFALLIBLE DE FIDE STATEMENTS, have erred. Just me.
What exasperates me is the fact all these prelates with different titles forget: THE CHURCH IS IN THE WORLD, BUT IS NOT OF THE WORLD.
I left communist Cuba almost 30 years ago and the oppression and tyranic ways in which they operate left an indelible mark in me.
Now seeing Mario Bergolio never speaking in favor of my people and even worse watching him embracing and having the most friendly meeting with a now non-elected tyrant Miguel DiazCanel while closing the doors to the groups of Cuban that have traveled to Vatican seeking for support is a clear indication of his unworthiness to the chair of Peter by failing to take care of the flock , Saint John Paul II was a fervent supporter of the freedom and saw the evil in communism, talk about contrast.
Vigano can see through his own eyes the truth. Bergolio himself when picked to serve as pope said “ forgive them for they don’t know what they’re doing “ … we all know that it was not the holy spirt involved in such conclave but the work of men… Dear Heavenly Father keep us safe in Jesus name your son and our Savior and Loving heavenly mother protect us and keep us under your loving care 🙏✝️❤️amen.

This oppositions that leads to confusion of many catholics must be fulfilled as has been warned by the Blessed Virgin Mary in her message in Fatima which was rejected by Pope John 23rd in 1960 to be declared in the whole world together with all the bishops of the catholic church but instead called the Vatican Council II which now bergolio was trying to impose to all church authorities and canceled or excommunicate those who are not in his side.

If a priest based their identity on the position the Pope put them, is like me thinking I'm an accountant therefore if I lose my job I'm not longer a Christian. Vigano just lost a job, not his responsibilities as a servant of the Lord.

Surely Orthodox is Catholic! "Catholic" by Definition is "Universal". Filioque Insertion to the Nicene Creed may be about Apostolic Succession through St Peter (The Rock) . But the Marks of The Church are :One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic.

Allow me to point out the obvious but according to this quotation of Cardinal Thomas Cajetan it is practically imposible for anyone to be schismatic since any individual catholic could be suspicious of any particular Pope and deny his authority provided that in principle he/she would accept a Pope that would not be under his/her suspicion.
Meaning every single catholic is able to accept or reject a Pope at will depending on his/hers suspicion of a Pope.
I can imagine the state of total and permanent chaos the Catholic Church would be in if that was allowed and accepted as not being schismatic.
That would make schism impossible to take place and therefore, in my view, makes such a proposition a ridiculous and invalid proposition.
This is trully a mind boggling proposition.
Definitely a mine field! I think that radical statements and documents, and, the amount and speed at which they are emerging is unprecedented in any previous Pontificate.
It then comes across as an agenda which if you oppose it gets you punished.
It also raises doubts as to the legitimacy of what a Pope is supposed to do and say as being the norm. It actually starts to feel revolutionary which raises questions as to whether it is spiritually guided or not. Hence confusion among The Faithful.

Fair enough, but remember when Francis on video violently removed his hand from being kissed by the faithful, over and over again? That was unbearable to watch. If we want to heal the divide we must support the source of unity of the Church-the pope.
The divide is being made by the Pope or maybe those who are influencing him. The truth will always prevail in the end. We need to pray for the Pope do penance and make sacrifices. Those who hold high office will face a harsh judgment if it contradicts Christ and His teachings. Certainly prelates and the clergy have taken their parishes and liturgy into a worldly direction in the last decades, and that needs to finally be dealt with. “He who hears you, hears me.” Either that’s true or we have no Church.
