Holy shit. I've been working on a GB rpg/adventure with ZGB and my shitty programming skills for a couple months. Now this comes along, I think I am going to spend a few days learning this and using it instead. Thanks dude this is amazing!
I've been waiting for this for a very very long time. After NES Maker being a thing, I was hoping to see a GB Maker in the future, but luckily this came far sooner than I've ever expected! Can't wait for more updates!
Wow. This looks easier than GBDK, and I think it's gonna be great later on, but one feature I think would be cool is to code like you would in GBDK. I'm not talking about displaying sprites, backgrounds, and setting up collisions with code, but I think being able to use C with the GB Studio event system would be better for more advanced people. (Not saying I'm one of them, because I suck at GBDK, but maybe there should be a beginner mode and a more advanced one.)
Man, someone (possibly me) needs to make a game based off of "misfortune . GB" In this. making the creepypasta game boy game *that follows things that are feasible on a game boy* as real game boy game would be super cool! I think I have found what I will be doing if there are any game jams in October.
I will send you a file with zelda style fighting to kill bad guys later today what is your email address. I also have a one for using bombs. They are very basic but they work. There is a tutorial on youtube for pokemon style fighting that someone has made
I tried it for a couple of hour yesterday, I really like it. My congrats for your work. If I may, can I ask if you plan to release some updates of the engine with new features (es. new events, new scene types etc..) ?
I have figured out how to do Zelda style sword fighting to kill bad guys and also how to use bombs in GBstudio. If anyone would like to know how please feel free to message me and I will send you the GBstudio files for each. If anyone knows how to make a tutorial video to show others how that would be great, as I don't know how to make youtube videos. Happy game creating guys. My game is taking a long time to create but I should have it finished within 6 month. It has everything from live action sword fighting to time travel that can affect the future, extra dimentions and mutiple charactor storys lines, plus mutiple endings (some good, some bad). So keep an eye out for "The Chronicle's of Oliss"
cool idea, but messing with it, it looks like it's still pretty bare bones. i dont see an option to add your own code or edit the scource code which would be a good thing, not only to pick up interest from other developers but those developers could also help add functions to the engine itself for the less experienced users. i'll keep an eye on this to see how it develops, there's some potential to this
Mike Stamper You can make your own graphics using any application that can make png files (like Aseprite) by following these instructions www.gbstudio.dev/docs/assets/ 🙂
If only you could put your games on a cartridge and play it on actual hardware, sorta like NES maker. I could play my own little game, on my on game boy where ever I want!
Thank you for your incredible work, Chris!

Have you done it yet?
Would it be okay for you to show how you made the sample music for the tutorial?
This is amazing however since it's very limited I hope there will be an update soon on being able to make platformers or fighters or more!
This is great! I hope you continue to develop it.
Can you also make other type of games aside JRPG with this too?
Yeah you can make tons of games! Version 1 is only top down games but version 2 has platformers and some other stuff
Pretty awesome! Is it possible to have music in your game at this time?
How can you make turn-based or real time battles? Can you also add a function to change of character?
I will send you a file with zelda style fighting to kill bad guys later today what is your email address. I also have a one for using bombs. They are very basic but they work. There is a tutorial on youtube for pokemon style fighting that someone has made
Oliss Boat send me file

Are games like Final Fantasy or Earthbound Zero possible to create?
Yes but the battle systems are pretty hard to make work

Sounds cool!
Great idea! Please, keep up the good work! ;)
This is amazing! It has always been my dream to make a gameboy game. Is it only visual scripting or is there the option to write scripts with code?
so cool! can this also be used to make jump'n'runs, shooters, beat 'em ups etc?
This is amazing
*screams and makes a gameboy port of my friends’ upcoming Game pokemon crown*
I feel like a dumb dumb asking this, but how do I access night mode in this? (dark ui theme)
I think it’s the view menu
This is really cool.
Dude im scared... I never watch this but i have this in my history :o
This is awesome will you be posting tutorial videos. I am a bit lost since I just got the software.
Amazing I'm starting my first game pay attention to itch.io
i didn't lol
You should make some in-depth videos on creating logo and title scenes
It's awesome! :3
Is there a website where people can add their games, so everyone can download and play them?
OMG can you make a DS game builder / rom editor? That would be DOPE

It is possible to make a turn based? With the party following
Does it also allow you to make your own sprites or 2D graphics?
Mike Stamper You can make your own graphics using any application that can make png files (like Aseprite) by following these instructions www.gbstudio.dev/docs/assets/ 🙂
Where can I find info about commercializing games made with GB Studio software?
Nevermind I assume that's covered in the MIT License on the Github page.
Anything you make with GB Studio is yours, do what you want with it 🙂
My golly. This is good. Question: this is legal and stuff, right?
Idk why it wouldn't be, but always nice to just check the legality of this stuff
@Lucía Lagos Yeah, that's more appropriate at what I'm trying to say
@@baldipogchamp8926 you can but it will be considered an unliscenced game. You can even sell it on carts so as long as you own the graphics and game.
For when the Game Boy Advance?? 🤓😋
I'm waiting for the version of the GBA too. At least a version in color.
Can we create shmup ?
Is there a battle system???
Has anyone made any games yet? I've googled a bit, but everything is just news of the release.
MizuhoChan itch.io/jam/mini-jam-30-gameboy/entries
Disculpa se podrán hacer juego de rpg como los de medarot?🤔
Supongo que si
The site is down.

Now, You Can Use GB Studio To Make GBC Only Games.
If only you could put your games on a cartridge and play it on actual hardware, sorta like NES maker. I could play my own little game, on my on game boy where ever I want!
You can :-) pbs.twimg.com/media/D4iF6FrXkAIsNpQ.jpg:large
@@roastB Oh neat! And I only need a flash cart for it to work! Sorry for asking, but do you know where I can find one? Thanks.
