Hey everyone, thanks for checking out this video! This was made prior to the release of Tobu Tobu Girl DX, go here if you want to play a full color version of this game: tangramgames.dk/tobutobugirldx/
No problem, glad you found some fun new games to play :) the original GB is awesome! Hoping to do more videos about the system in the not too distant future.
Happy to see a couple of our games on the list, thanks a lot! For those of you intereseted on it here is a link to ZGB(github.com/Zal0/ZGB), the engine we used to develop both Super Princess 2092 Exodus and Polka Sheep
As someone who is just now starting out in Gameboy dev using the GBDK dev kit and learning the C programing language along the way I'd love to see more of this sort of content for inspiration and motivation! Subscribed! :B
@@rangoononline Google, haha. Seriously, many different sites in general. romhacking.net, pdroms.de, nesworld, gbadev.org are all good places to start, sometimes you have to dig a bit deeper. I try to link the ones used in the videos in their description
I love these Homebrew game videos but I was wondering if you have ever considered doing like a video on the history of a single Homebrew scene(certain system, website, competition, ECT.) something like ; when it started, best ones, technical achievements, where the scene is now and hopes for the future.stuff like that just wondering if ya ever considered you say leave ideas and this is just a idea this would prolly be hard or take a while but could be really cool.
@@LEANBEANPEAN This sounds like an excellent idea and I have considered something similar before. Would take a lot of research but that doesn't deter me very much of course :) will definitely mull this over further. I wonder how difficult it would be to find concrete information about certain scenes from so many years ago. Will have to do some digging. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the thoughtful suggestion
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins on Game Boy! Excellent game, play it if you haven't already. There is also a colorization romhack that gives it a GBC palette: www.romhacking.net/hacks/3784/
Here's a link to a website that has literally hundreds of homebrew GB games ready to download, or to play in the browser itself with your phone/tablet touch screen so that you can try a game out before downloading it and playing it on a real gameboy or in an emulator: gbhh.avivace.com/games I'm buying an original gameboy soon to replace my old one that broke years ago. And/or a gameboy pocket. Plus an everdrive. And so my plan is to download every single homebrew game on this website and load them all onto the everdrive and play them on an actual gameboy. It'll take hours to go through and download them all but it'll be worth it. And maybe if I do that I could collect them together in a zip file and upload it to the Internet somewhere so nobody else has to do the same thing I am going to do.

7:37 This is mechanically similar to Cauldron II on the Commodore 64. It's a not-so-common style. ua-cam.com/video/hCbuNyU1Rrw/v-deo.html
This opens up a whole new world of fun for many of us (such as myself) that LOVE the original GB. Thanks so much!

Polka Sheep seems like a really creative result of setting limitations.
Good video!
Totally agreed, it was a neat little surprise to stumble on it when it came out. I am determined to get to the end someday! Glad you like the video :)
Yeah! I’m enjoying the home brew videos. What site do you get the games from?

@@rangoononline Don't forget DuckDuckGo 😉

Not bad! I wasn't aware that the Homebrew scene was such a big deal, and still is.
Another good home brew for the gameboy is Indestructotank. Super addictive and the music is a bop.
Mate, your flow is fucking amazing!
Yes yes more homebrew yes yes
Thanks for the video, nice selection of games :)
Great video, thanks!
Deadeus?
Omg! Tetris with another theme?!
What is the name?...

too primitive for my taste, for example "avenging spirit" is deep enough
Uwusuum ;)
Extremely primitive, Game Boy can do much more!
Bunch of mediocre games is all i see.
