This release is a big quality of life update! There’s so many improvements I can’t list them all here!

With this release your project files are getting an upgrade. The first time you save your project in 4.1.0 it will be split into multiple files within a new “project” folder. Instead of everything being in a single “.gbsproj” file, each resource (such as actors, triggers, and scenes) will have its own dedicated file. This update will make it much easier to track changes in your version control system, and makes it easier to work in teams.
You can now create reusable actor and trigger “prefabs”! Perfect for making common elements like enemies or collectables. Design them once, and reuse them as many times as needed. Plus, when you update a prefab, all instances of it across your project will automatically update too.
Dialogue boxes can now have customised layouts! Set whether text should appear at the top or bottom of the screen, if a frame should be drawn, and set specific conditions for when the text box should close. To manage these new options, there’s a new “Presets” feature, which allows you to define multiple layouts and even set a default one. The presets feature has been enabled for Projectiles too!
Version 4.1.0 also introduces the ability to run scripts on new threads, enabling you to have multiple things happening simultaneously. So no need for workarounds, like repurposing actor update scripts anymore!

Work in progress on the new GBStudio sprite editor. While making this I realised you could probably set the sprite size to full screen and make animated cutscenes, seems to work quite well! The feature is subject to change but it's starting to take shape :-)

Really cool. Love the Gameboy Printer, but how do I get the printer connected to my Computer.
For when the support to make GBA games?
This is literally the easiest program. My friends and I used to make flash games and animations back in high school and post them on Newgrounds. I haven't done anything in years and then a few months ago I found GB studio and now I'm so close to being done with creating my first real game. Can't wait to put it on carts
Where do they sell the cart flasher adapter device you’re using and blank cartridges?
I got one from epilogue. It always you to download roms or play direct on you computer. They are only $50 too
@@johnnnyboi1823 I have that but the playback software isn’t compatible with my 2011 MacBook Air, only goes up to high sierra os my laptop is too old. :/

1:01 Lol I can't tell you how many people seem afraid of just using something like Git. Even a GUI version like Github Desktop. It's amazing how instead they'll keep saving incremental copies of the entire project filling up their disk.

@@canadianturtle7240 I’d definitely check out Godot godotengine.org it’s a little bit more difficult but you’ll find loads of tutorials on UA-cam :-)

Great update!!❤ Can someone please help me, I can't wrap my head on how to make my player crouch/duck by pressing DOWN button and have my player stand back up right after releasing the DOWN button as in a metroidvania sort of game, to go through narrow passages or hit an enemy from below. Any help would be appreciated, because I googled for hours and made no progress 🥹🙏
