Former Registered Medical Dispensary Agent: It is SO difficult to get the right THC/CBD in a product without consistent, reliable testing of each and every batch. A dispensary must test every single product that is put on the menu before it can be sold. Please, PLEASE: do not buy CBD, THC, or Delta-9 products that are not from a registered dispensary. No gas station vapes or MLM gummies. Ever. You don't know what's in them and they haven't been tested for safety. And if you take away anything from my comment, let it be this: under NO circumstances should you EVER give a minor a cannabis product unless directed by a doctor as a Medical Patient (MMJ). It is not safe for them and their developing brains. Please enjoy cannabis responsibly and as 21+.
As an FYI, this would depend heavily on the state. In Washington, simply consuming cannabis products isn't enough for CPS involvement, there has to be evidence of neglect or abuse as a result of that use. Just like dad getting drunk doesn't equal child abuse unless he then drives the kid around or passes out and let's the kid play with matches.
@@renerice2669But if the child consumes, a parent could lose custody or not be able to regain it if THC is detected in the child’s blood/urine. A pregnant woman could face issues with CPS, as well.
Exactly! They can't own up to it or do a recall without admitting to felonious actions. (Not that i don't think the selling off the old stock at a discount is scammy-scumbag behavior!)
They deserve to be in deep trouble since their QC department is criminally negligent. I guess the higher ups are just trying to cover their own asses about it as if it's not their responsibility too.
I checked with Google, and several websites state that the combined amount of thc measured in the product (5mg), is enough to impact an adult’s ability to drive. And they’re telling people to give this stuff to their kids? What the actual hell?!?
I live in Canada, and we can buy cannabis products from government run dispensaries. They’ve done some work to test all the products, with equal dosing numbers. It helps.
dude they had ONE JOB to honor their product claims and not only failed, but blatantly ignored legitimate (potentially life-altering) issues about it. that is so MESSED UP
I wonder if they could be federally prosecuted for knowingly trafficking THC products across state lines. Especially since after they found out. Not only did they not immediately pull it but put their products on promotion. With the two forms of THC in the product, that would be enough to f*** me up. I know that's not enough for everybody but it is for me. That is an incredibly high amount of THC for product that is supposed to have zero THC in it.
This terrifies me to no end. As someone who lives in a state where you can be arrested for testing positive for THC. (Possession via Ingestion - Yes I am 100% serious) What if someone around here took these products, only to find themselves arrested and with a record, all because of a company selling something that contains a drug that is technically illegal on a federal level? This sort of negligence is life ruining and they should be sued into the ground, if not taken down federally for this.
The victims should all get together and start a class action lawsuit. Everyone who still has the original formula at home need to send it off to labs to strengthen the class action lawsuit. Im sure many people still have the laced formula since they didn't immediately take it off the market.
Wow suddenly they’ve added a tiny link on their website saying that you shouldn’t take their products if you might be drug tested because they could cause a positive result. Seems like a slightly different message than all those leaders were spreading on zoom calls.
I really hope that Mike was able to continue on in his career somehow. And I really, really hope Tara and Mike countersue the pants off Q Sciences for false advertising, lost wages, all of the things. If they end up starting a GoFundMe (or whichever website) to raise money for legal costs please share the link!!
As someone who works in the legal cannab*s industry, this is horrifying. This is why it is SO important to get products from a legitimate source with 3rd party testing. I am a huge proponent of THC and CBD use (for CONSENTING ADULTS) but the hemp industry is very unregulated and it can be dangerous. I had a high school friend reach out to me to join Q Sciences and I found their use of terminology to be strange and things like using full and broad spectrum interchangeably made it obvious the reps were not truly educated about hemp, cannab*s, and the endocannabionoid system. As someone who truly believes in this plant and fights hard for it, companies like this are going to put consumer education so far back. It’s infuriating. (I’m really stuck on the giving it to kids thing because I have seen it myself and to know now it allegedly contained up to 3 mg of thc is so upsetting. No wonder those kids went straight to sleep. People could loose their kids over something like this. It’s not cool at all.)
I was 19 when I had my first kid. I smoked thc in the house and a series of unfortunate events led to my daughter being tested for thc and obviously was positive. She was TAKEN away from me, my parents fostered her for almost three years while I had to undergo the court system and fight to get my child back. Imagine giving your child these products, something happens where they get tested and you losing your child to the system because of an MLM product. That sooooooo messed up
Wow this is the wildest MLM story so far. Really highlights the dangers of unproven MLM products. Feel so bad for the people who failed the drug tests after taking this product
Why specifically MLMs? Wouldn't false advertising be dangerous from any type of company? Many companies have been caught in false advertising lawsuits, not just MLMs.
I'm VERY sensitive to THC and have a very severe reaction to it. Products like this could be incredibly harmful to me and this company's negligence is abhorrent
Even if they do send a cease and desist Hannah, we know the truth about these unethical companies and one day they’ll get the karma they deserve. So excited for this video!!

I haven't watched this full thing yet, but to say it's full spectrum yet THC free is a contradiction. You can't have both. Disgusting that they take advantage of people's lack of knowledge and put their livelihoods at risk too! Thanks for always sharing this type of info, Hannah.
I get tested randomly for my job and they tell us to stay away from CBD and hemp products exactly because of situations like this since there is such little regulation for supplements (not that it excuses anything on Q Science's part I still hope they face the legal action they deserve). I'm also glad you're bringing this back up because it is huge and the lack of attention on it will just make it easier for Q Sciences to legally muscle their way out of it.
So we've lost someone who WANTS to risk their life to save others because of people who want to risk others for financial gain?? Awesome. I hope they win the lawsuit and Mike's situation can be reconsidered because of these exceptional circumstances 😢
Man I feel terrible for Mike, who learned all of this the hard way and now can't be a firefighter through no fault of his own. That has to be completely devastating if it was something he was working towards for a long time. Q Sciences is so full of shit (and THC apparently 🙃)
@@Jmg5594 I know right, I was wondering the same thing. The problem is that it's impossible to prove that the Q Sciences product was the only reason he failed it.
@Amanda-sj5sb my husband was a FF & LEO. If Mike had a history of testing negative, showed receipts and timeline he took the tainted supplement, showed he complained and paid for a secondary test that it was that product, then tested clean after getting it out of his body. He could file an appeal. They could even do hair and nail testing exspensive but when you have basically been roofied by a lying scam mlm, you would do anything to prove your innocent. It can be a long road but all of us need to speak out, share our stories and back the people who were damaged by these evil MOFOS! How do they lay their head down at night knowing they are lying predators who ruin people's lives? Sick! So sick!
caught this video like a pokemon edit: i have finished the video and wow... it's horrifying to hear that people have given these to their kids without knowing what is in them. though it says on the packaging that it doesn't have thc in it, if i were to give some supplements to my kid i would be doing the most reasearch on them.
That's awful. I'm all for THC, but it should only be consumed with consent, and not just consent but also with the knowledge of what you're consuming. The fact that people consumed it unknowingly is horrifying, especially the kids. The kids part is heartbreaking
I worked in a mental health department for a bit, and heard from clinicians that in some teens that consume THC, it can increase the risk of developing schizophrenia, psychosis or a similar illness. So this has me enraged on so many levels.
and for people who already have those conditions thc can irrevocably exacerbate it on a long timeline; i personally don't use it due to my own health history and i would be devastated to find out i had been dosed against my will due to the lifelong consequences i might face
This deserves all the attention/eyes it can get. Some people are sensitive to certain ingredients/drugs and to not have that labeled clearly is so so so problematic.
I cant imagine someone who is sober finding this out. If my dad had taken this product, he would be heartbroken to know his sobriety had been compromised due to a mlm
So, another side to this. My husband figured out years and years ago that thc makes him violently ill. We've been interested in trying cbd/hemp now that we're pushing 50 just for some of the benefits we've been hearing about. Now imagine we got this product. THC makes hubby violently vomit and have hallucinations, among some other things. While that might not be a widespread issue, it would absolutely have been an issue for him. And we wouldn't have known what was causing it until this came out. It's infuriating that companies like this take no accountability. Thank you for making this video!!
When I heard about the story on an Erin Bies livestream I reported it to the FBI. This is not only a supplement problem, since THC is not legal in the whole USA this is a clear case of drug trafficking across states lines. And I don't know if they exported it outside the USA, but that would be an even bigger problem.
How can they legally sell a product with THC in it when it's not legal nation wide 🤔 We still have people being jailed over the sale of THC in the US, so how can this MLM get away with it?
as a munchie girlie who thankfully benefits from occasional usage, i would be rattled if i unknowingly was taking it let alone giving it to my child, who, like you mentioned, has a smaller weight let alone developing, so that’s all sorts of scary. and to try and brush it off and sell the “potentially contaminated product” and pass it off as “new product time, now it’s time to retire this one” is a big yikes. couldn’t be me.
As a healthcare provider I’m also in the camp of thank you SM for sharing this. I could lose my career if I had thc in my system and there’s a zero tolerance policy. I’m so glad I’m staunchly anti mlm but I’m not anti cbd and I couldn’t imagine being lied to about the thc contents. Shame on Q sciences! Despicable!
THIS IS INSANE. And Tara definitely has a case. She should continue with the lawsuit until Q inevitably backs down. They can’t go through discovery and not come out looking guilty as hell - my opinion.
At around 200lbs, I only take 12.5mg of Delta-8 (in edible form) for my migraines and I can absolutely feel it. Obviously any amount of THC is too much for a child, but 6mg is definitely way too much. I can just imagine an anxious kid drinking more than one glass bc they know it makes them feel better, and going into respiratory failure or worse.
Okay, I was a forensic chemist and took a buuuunch of classes on marijuana and such. So hemp DOES have THC, it's just in such a low amount that it's not going to get you high. Also, the biggest issue with CBD products is that, over time, CBD degrades into THC. It's fairly slow and in small amounts but it does occur. So any CBD product could, given enough time, turn into pure THC. Additionally, most regulated CBD products will say "less than x amount of THC" because with these products there's no way to get zero. But if it is below a certain amount it doesn't get you high
Okay, I worked as a deputy court clerk in juvenile court... Do you know how many times we've had parents who had to delay getting their children back because they tested positive for THC? Not to mention that any of us in the courthouse would be fired if we failed a drug test. Same with my brother who is a cop. This is...so dangerous. I hope the lawsuit does move forward. I'm sharing this on my Facebook, because a lot of friends are in similar jobs with zero tolerance policies. I wouldn't want any of them (especially in this economy) to lose their job over this.
The qualities that made Tara a ‘president’s pick’ and on the advisory council will make her a formidable opponent. I see her leading a class action suit against the company. Anybody with old Q-sciences products should have them tested, and send the results to Tara.
The fact that people are saying to give this to CHILDREN…. They are selling Federally illegal drugs to parents who they know will give them to children. Last time I checked, that’s a huge no-no. They are SO stupid for filing a lawsuit because this will end their company.
For people who are familiar with the current state of CBD products in the US this should come as no surprise. There is no oversight, regulation, or third party testing on over 90% of CBD products on the market. Many CBD products are intentionally produced to "accidentally" include higher than allowed THC content because that is what the vast majority of consumers want. Even if the consumers themselves don't realize the illegally high THC content is what they like about the product. The manufacturer or grower likely told this company that there was no THC in the product, in much the same way a bong is for tobacco and sativa is incense at a head shop, and they were to naive to do independent testing. Obviously as with every issue surrounding marijuana, the solution is to legalize, regulate and de-stigmatize.
As someone who takes CBD in a country where CBD and THC is 100% legal, I still never trust that my CBD supplements are entirely THC free. The people at the shops will tell you that as well. It's VERY HARD to guarantee that a CBD product is THC free, and it's not worth the risk.
I'm a nurse in a suboxone and drug rehabilitation program for a hospital in Illinois. Thank you for this information. Unfortunately, we have a lot of newly sober people who are sucked into MLMs. They look for a community. We have had a few recently failed that are known mlm sales embassadars. I will be telling my supervising doctor so that we can ask our patients if they take any supplements if we get positive test as that can keep them from receiving methadone and suboxone which opioid patients desperately need. Thank God Dr.B is understanding. This might save and justify some of the recently positive test.
As someone who works in a cannabis industry, we would never guarantee the thc free/cbd only products would pass a test. Its different aspects of the same plant and always a possibility and risk, if you are worried at all about that then do not try it! Its such an unbelievably red flag to say otherwise
Exactly! I've seen results for some of the products I've dealt with at work and our CBD stuff has a small bit of THC in it. Even that small amount is still declared on the packaging.
When i worked for an employer that did random testing we were specifically instructed not to touch any CBD or hemp products, since we couldn't be assured that thc wouldn't show up. Needless to say, i didn't even touch cbd topical products
it breaks my heart that Mike was doing something as noble as trying to become a fire fighter and was turned away by no fault of his own. sending him and his family all my love and energy during this trying time, i hope the lawsuit goes in their favor
This reminds me of the Lularoe documentary when that top couple started going against them and complaining about the product quality-they were then fired from the company-no conscience in these mlms!
One of the things I see anti-MLM content missing is a video specifically about how ALL of these products have a perfectly acceptable free-market dupe. It would be great to see a video showing the difference in cost and prove these products are no differ than what’s already on the market.
You could also be a foster parent or in the process of adopting and lose the children in your care or the ability to become a foster or adoptive parent. You could be in a custody battle with an ex and lose your children entirely over this. Outrageous!!! This should be criminal.
Crazy that they're suing. THEY should get sued. Class action by everyone who's been harmed either by the stuff itself or through coming up positive on a drug test after taking it.
I wonder if they could even say CBD is safe for kids? While a lot of the research on CBD is promising, it's still limited and there's no way ethics boards would approve widescale, broad application studies to be done on children before we've done just that on adults.
Many organizations tell their employees don’t even bother with these products because if there’s a no tolerance policy there’s no recourse for mistaken consumption because of a spiked product.
As someone who uses CBD, companies I've used do warn that even the low THC contamination could show positive on a test even though they legally can claim "THC free." What a shady company and the poor people who are unaware going in. The worst part is that they're lying about the contents in the products
Years ago, when CBD products were entering the cosmetic realm, I went to a professional workshop (at COSMOPROF Las Vegas) about formulating products with CBD. If over the legal limit of THC is found in the product, the product is considered an ILLEGAL DRUG in states where THC is illegal. They can literally go to jail for selling illegal drugs. That's probably why they were so scared of this coming out. I just did a quick search to see if there are any updates since this video went live 9 months ago, and I don't see any, so I guess they got away with it!
Man this is a HUGE deal for those of us who get drug tested at work regularly! Great video, you have a real professional voice for broadcast journalism
In my job, we have a 0 tolerance policy for any kind of positive drug test results. When CBD products started getting popular, my employer put out a warning that it isn't always clear if one of those products could create a positive test result, so consume at your own risk. I have been too scared to try any CBD ever since (even though it sounds like it could help with my anxiety). This video proves that it is good to be cautious if you are in an industry that takes drug testing seriously
This is absolutely insane! As a new lawyer, this would make me furious if I failed a drug test because of this, specially considering I have NEVER smoked weed, or done any drugs!
The reason that we don’t know what’s in supplements goes all the way back to Senator Orin Hatch from Utah because the MLM supplement industry makes millions in Utah. He shut down any FDA involvement in regulating supplements.

👏
Yes!!!
Wow this is INSANE. CPS could get involved as well if this is detected in kids. This is so sick. I hope justice will be served.
Yes! The potential consequences are enormous!
Actually if they owned up to their mistakes then they would be considered an illegal dispensary. That would get them in DEEP trouble.
Exactly! They can't own up to it or do a recall without admitting to felonious actions. (Not that i don't think the selling off the old stock at a discount is scammy-scumbag behavior!)
to CHILDREN, which they are on record promoting this product for, no less.
The supplement industry in and of itself is notoriously unregulated
Im sure many people still have the laced formula since they didn't immediately take it off the market.
many more people will have it after that sale, if I saw my kids favorite “non soda treat drink” on sale, I can see buying more. Creepy
Also highlights some problems with marijuana and THC being treated the way it is by authorities.
My heart brakes for all the children drugged without their parents knowing 😢
Even if they do send a cease and desist Hannah, we know the truth about these unethical companies and one day they’ll get the karma they deserve. So excited for this video!!
This is a company killer event. I'm....so excited for this downfall of Q sciences. It's terrible that it negatively affected so many however...
However!
Please keep following and updating on this! I love seeing MLM companies being called out and (hopefully) being held accountable for their shadiness! I know you were so nervous to post this, but we fully support you exposing this stuff. Good job, Hannah!
I haven't watched this full thing yet, but to say it's full spectrum yet THC free is a contradiction. You can't have both. Disgusting that they take advantage of people's lack of knowledge and put their livelihoods at risk too! Thanks for always sharing this type of info, Hannah.
What about Green Compass? I took the gummies for a month and had horrible side effects
To me this screams the people at the company don’t know anything about hemp products they’re just jumping on trend
Right! Was wondering why Hannah didn’t mention that. Full spectrum = mostly CBD, some THC (usually small amounts, but still)
Exactly my thoughts!
I swear I'm not normally happy when things go badly for other people but when it's an mlm... It does brighten my day
I heard about this from Erin and it's INSANE! A dude literally lost his opportunity to get his dream job!
This is so messed up. Looking forward to the inevitable class action and downfall of these scammers.
One reason to cover up the lab results: THC isn't legal everywhere. In my state, NC, anything above .3% THC is illegal.
Man I feel terrible for Mike, who learned all of this the hard way and now can't be a firefighter through no fault of his own. That has to be completely devastating if it was something he was working towards for a long time. Q Sciences is so full of shit (and THC apparently 🙃)
I hope he can prove that he was fooled by this company and get a second chance
Sick! So sick!
caught this video like a pokemon
edit: i have finished the video and wow... it's horrifying to hear that people have given these to their kids without knowing what is in them. though it says on the packaging that it doesn't have thc in it, if i were to give some supplements to my kid i would be doing the most reasearch on them.
This has been talked about I think in some documentary I saw years ago. What I mean Q Sciences should know better.
and for people who already have those conditions thc can irrevocably exacerbate it on a long timeline; i personally don't use it due to my own health history and i would be devastated to find out i had been dosed against my will due to the lifelong consequences i might face
How can they legally sell a product with THC in it when it's not legal nation wide 🤔
We still have people being jailed over the sale of THC in the US, so how can this MLM get away with it?
This!
as a munchie girlie who thankfully benefits from occasional usage, i would be rattled if i unknowingly was taking it let alone giving it to my child, who, like you mentioned, has a smaller weight let alone developing, so that’s all sorts of scary.
and to try and brush it off and sell the “potentially contaminated product” and pass it off as “new product time, now it’s time to retire this one” is a big yikes.
couldn’t be me.
Despicable!
Could they even legally sell products with THC even if they advertised that it was in the products?
Nope, at least not nationwide. And they’d have to jump through a bunch of state-specific hoops to sell in legal markets, too
THIS IS INSANE.
I am a pain management patient and get drug tested monthly could not imagine not being able to get my meds bc of something like this
Same, except I have random drug tests a few times a year bc I'm on vyvanse (adhd). Couldn't imagine not having those meds, they help me function
@@elsieesoteric literally🥹
Me too, losing my pain meds would be devastating
The thing is, they are supposed to be independent testing per batch sold, not once a year how they have it on their website. Very shady
Just saw your IG story on this. I’m excited you did this. It’s important for people to be aware. Thank you for all your hard work and research!
When i worked for an employer that did random testing we were specifically instructed not to touch any CBD or hemp products, since we couldn't be assured that thc wouldn't show up. Needless to say, i didn't even touch cbd topical products
This is insane. How are they still open or able to sell that product! Horrifying
This whole situation is deeply unacceptable.
it breaks my heart that Mike was doing something as noble as trying to become a fire fighter and was turned away by no fault of his own. sending him and his family all my love and energy during this trying time, i hope the lawsuit goes in their favor
This reminds me of the Lularoe documentary when that top couple started going against them and complaining about the product quality-they were then fired from the company-no conscience in these mlms!
if I wasn't at work listening, I would be sitting with popcorn and a glass of wine 😮 this is so shocking
also editing the webpage, did they think it wouldn't be obvious to literally anyone who knows how to check that info? it is very easy to check
Oh shit! This is absolutely crazy!!!! I can’t imagine what those kids felt like when they drank that stuff 😢
This is appalling. I can’t imagine standing behind a company who would brush something so massive under the rug.
Many organizations tell their employees don’t even bother with these products because if there’s a no tolerance policy there’s no recourse for mistaken consumption because of a spiked product.
this is CRAZY omg. That is soooo messed up
I assume the poor fire fighter is suing? I hope he bankrupts that MLM.
Not a lawyer but they might have grounds for a counterclaim
As someone who uses CBD, companies I've used do warn that even the low THC contamination could show positive on a test even though they legally can claim "THC free." What a shady company and the poor people who are unaware going in. The worst part is that they're lying about the contents in the products
That lady said “it’s safe for kids” who would give this to kids?
I can't even imagine all the CHILDREN that have been unknowingly drugged. This is absolutely insane and so so dangerous
Gosh.. letting anyone sign up to sell something they have NO CLUE about. What could possibly go wrong?
THC can also trigger psychosis in people with some mental illness. It's unbelievably reckless to lie like this.
There is.... i came across a Q Hun the other week and when i brought this up they told me not to believe everything i read online. 🙄
I KINDA hope @LegalEagle finds this video. It would be interesting to get their take.
We need to get this lawsuit sent to Emily D. Baker💜💜💜 and see if she will cover it
I agree, she will kick their asses!!!!
emily was an active hun up until recently lol. arbonne. she openly spoke about loving their products...
This is why I never ever trust anything anyone gives me that, "definitely doesn't have THC in it! I'm 💯 positive!" Ya better safe than fired
The truth will come out in discovery. If the plaintiffs can afford to see it through, they'll get their day in court.
It's products like this that make my husband skeptical of any CBD products. He's a truckdriver and a failed drug test could cost us everything
I can't imagine finding out you've been microdosing your kids on THC. The guilt would haunt me into paranoia over everything they ingest from then on
Years ago, when CBD products were entering the cosmetic realm, I went to a professional workshop (at COSMOPROF Las Vegas) about formulating products with CBD.
I remember when this story originally dropped, omg the tea is pipping hot and needs to be spilled!!
Man this is a HUGE deal for those of us who get drug tested at work regularly! Great video, you have a real professional voice for broadcast journalism
Shocked, shocked am I that a supplement MLM has shady labeling practices! 😱
So sad about the kid who was previously nervous for piano recitals 🤯 no wonder she wasn’t nervous anymore, she was high!
😬😭 devastating to find that out!
Woooow you’re right. There needs to be way more coverage on this story! This is insane……
Wow!!!! This can ruin so many peoples lives. I hope so many see this.
This is disgusting. I can't believe how easily they seem to be getting away with something that is so dangerous/harmful. I hope this story gets way more public attention!
We really need a non-profit that independently tests these kinds of products! Thanks for the video Hannah.
*cough* FDA *cough*
