Hannah, I really really love you, but please be aware that so-called "tested and proven" medicine, sold by big pharma (which is just as - if not more evil as these MLM's and their main interest is MONEY) prescribes literal AMPHETAMINES to children as old as 6 years old... ADHD medication is amazing for concentration, and I have tried both - Modafinil and a street drug called Speed, and I can confirm they feel very similar as the ingredients in them are LITERALLY the same.... my point is that regardless of how "proven" medicine is, doesn't mean that they are safe or even effective... If you know "paradoxical reaction", when antidepressants can cause violent and suicidal thoughts, anxiety pills can cause anxiety and so on... its also a massive scam. It just breaks my heart seeing you praise drugs and medical professionals whose knowledge is very vague and so limited.. either way, big fan, again LOVE you and wish you al the best

As a person that wasn't diagnosed with ADHD until I was an adult, I really resent parents that decide not to treat their child because the parent doesn't like medicine. I suffered a lot as a child. I got in trouble for talking too much or daydreaming in class. I was always having a hard time focusing on work in class and at home, and worse of all, just about every time I was punished at home, it was based on something I said. I had no impulse control and would blurt out things that people didn't need to know (things I overheard) and I interrupted the adults that were talking. I didn't understand why no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't "be better."

I have 3 severe adhd children that we medicate. As a family we know that natural medication will not work for them because the meds from the doctor works and then stops working. They have good and bad days. My 2 boys steal anything and everything and will lie to your face after you have found the stolen goods and have them on camera stealing it. Don't make a lick of difference. I know for a fact that they would not be able to function in school at all with out their meds. I am sorry you had to suffer as a child. I know parents that refuse to medicate and their child calls themself stupid because they struggle so bad and are not doing well in school at all.

Thank you for speaking up about your experience. When my son was diagnosed with ADHD in kindergarten I was able to ask two friends who were diagnosed as adults. Their stories were very similar to yours and we chose the medication. He still struggled some in school but is now in college studying to be a mental health professional. We are very proud of him and feel we made the right choice.

I have a friend with a child with severe ADHD. She was wavering on medication. The doctor told her she could choose between medication now or jail or rehab in the future. As a late diagnosed ADHDer who made six trips to rehab in the decade before my diagnosis (my forties, if you can believe it), this hit hard.

I am trained in research (phd in measurement), and I looked through the studies Amare attatch in their documentation for this product. They cite some legit double blind studies specifically studying the effect of saffron extract on mild to moderate anxiety and depression. Based on these studies, it could be okay to add this supplement as part of a routine after consulting a perscriber. What this DOES NOT mean is that (1) saffron works for ADHD, (2) this treatment will replace other medications, and (3) that Amare's version of saffron extract is the cheapest/most effective way to buy this supplement (especially since Kids Mood includes a bunch of other stuff that they don't provide studies for). So, talk to your prescriber about adding saffron extract to your existing theraputic routine if you want to explore that as an option. Don't buy from an MLM though.

Saffron is also notorious for being extremely expensive, actually the most expensive spice in the world, meaning that most times, what is called saffron is actually is actually not (or at least not pure). I wonder if Amare is shelling out upwards of $20 dollars PER GRAM and selling it to their customers - and how much would that make one of these cocktails? I know meds in the US can be ridiculously expensive but I still doubt it’s this bad - plus the drugs are actually tested and work.

"No scary side effects, no changed personalities, no long term effects and it works!"
ADHD meds can have side effects, yeah. They can screw with your appetite and you risk losing weight if you don't keep an eye on it. Blood pressure etc. can also go iffy. But that's why you take them with the guidance of doctors, and regular check-ins.
Yeah, ADHD changed my personality. I went from fighting for my life to actually having some light behind my eyes. It was like the first time I put on my glasses, the world was suddenly so much clearer. I could think! I'm not cured, but by god, it helps.
Long-term effects? Yeah, there are some. I was 15/16 and dead in the water academically. Now I'm 20, almost 21, and I just completed my first year at university. The long-term effects of my medication are succeeding in life, being happy, doing more than just surviving.

I'm sure your kids have bright futures ahead of them, especially with you in their corner. Those that judge parents for giving their children medication would (understandably!) be horrified if somebody denied a physically disabled child access to their wheelchair. Just because it's a different struggle, doesn't mean that it's okay to withhold the tools that can aid them through life.

LITTERALLY!! If you are having severe negative side effects you shouldn’t be on that medication! I am still searching for a medication combination with my prescriber that works for my combo of issues, and so I meet with him _every month._ Even when I was on a consistent combo I still met with him every few months. I also have been on medications where I’ve needed to check in regularly with my therapist, family, and friends to make sure there was no personality changes when I started taking those specific meds. Even my non-mental health related medication gets a checked up on about once a year.
Even then, if one medication doesn’t work, there’s so so many more that are options for medications for ADHD especially. I’ve tried many of them and have figured out what works best for me (snris) and what doesn’t (stimulants). It’s a process of trial and error. Not all doctors are good obviously, and some will treat it like a one and done thing, but medication should *never* be a one and done thing with zero checkups.

As both an upper elementary teacher and someone with ADHD, I have the “my kid just got diagnosed with ADHD” conversation at least 2-3x per year. There’s always a fear from the family that putting their 8, 9, or 10 year old on stimulants will have harmful side effects, which is a reasonable concern! There are other things (with actual legit science behind them) that can be done to help kids with ADHD before going straight to meds, but some of us (including me!) need stimulant medication to live our daily lives. It’s also incredibly predatory that she’s selling this as an ADHD treatment during an Adderall shortage.

Absolutely! Medication is a big thing to start especially for a kid, and it absolutely should be done under the supervision of a doctor with regular checkups to make sure those negative side effects are avoided. But also not every single ADHD medication is a stimulant, most of them are because they are known to be effective, but for parents who are worried about that there are non-stimulant options they can start with. Personally I’ve found them more effective than stimulants myself, but that just goes to show that medication is never a one size fits all!

I completely believe that no MLM company will really do anything about their reps spreading lies unless something serious happens and the company themselves gets thrust into the spotlight or that mainstream media picks it up and makes the company look bad enough for them to do something about it so they can act magnanimous and pretend like they actually give a crap.

I’m so sick of people exploiting mental illnesses to sell crappy products. The same with the one story you shared where that deranged person told a mother who had lost one child and problems during pregnancy and that hun said her supplements or whatever would’ve saved her first child and made the second pregnancy not have any issues. People who literally go out of their way to prey on cancer patients. And the Huns exploiting their own children and using them as billboards when they should know that’s not the safest thing especially with large followings because of the creeps but your kid shouldn’t be a billboard for your MLM “business”. It’s so ridiculous. Thank you for being amazing and the sweetest, Hannah. I hope you’re doing good and the little one is good too! Also your awesome cat that doesn’t like scams either! ❤

I was diagnosed as a child. I’m 25 years old now and I still struggle with it and learning about it and to life with my adhd. (which sucks more often than not). To see this kid not getting the help she might need (with meds or not) breaks my heart, especially because she already has a diagnosis which could make it so much easier to help and understand her and her needs. This kid has so much potential and her mom makes her life (probably) much harder than it already might be by not helping her just to make money. It’s disgusting

I understand that parents don’t want their children to be medicated and I know that they love their children fiercely, but those children need access to all of the studied/tested/validated/peer-reviewed resources available. I understand the desperation from parents, because sometimes using medication the child gets over medicated, which is what happened with my son, but there is many factors to that and one of them was his school getting involved and taking his health care away from me until I showed the doctor what the school had done to my son and then I was able to take control back with help with the doctor and we got my sons ADHD under control and now he’s 31 years old and doing great. A quick fix is never a solution even though that’s what every parent wants.

It hurts my heart for the children thinking they need this to "fix" them. People with ADHD aren't broken, our brains are just wired differently. The actual real best way to help ADHD symptoms without drugs: occupational therapy and parental education about how their child’s brain works a little differently. I have a couple ADHD kiddos and I don’t medicate them, but I also don’t see them as problems to fix. I see them as having different challenges and strengths than a lot of other kids. We do the work of occupational therapy and learning tools to support them and help them learn to function and appreciate their brains.

You're right about how binge-able this series is, and I was listening to this one while cleaning my room! I wanted to stop and say that I admire your commitment to writing a letter (Congrats on the baby back then, btw) and I thought of something related to your concerns about the child with ADHD growing up and feeling uneasy about being part of this MLM advertising young [and having her personal info out there, etc.]
Point being, I truly hope your baby grows up to know that Mom isn't one to shy away from hard and honest work, and that you can make a difference by standing up and calling out inappropriate behavior. It sounds like you put a ton of work not only into research, but also into doing what felt morally right - reporting - despite the hassle it involved, and I hope your baby will be so proud of that someday.
Sidenote - I always appreciate how respectful you are in your videos towards religion despite not being religious yourself. Utah does have a culture of many moms and thus there is likely frequent overlap with religion in that area, but I genuinely appreciate how that didn't feel like the point you were trying to make: you were simply stating the facts of where the letter went and pointing out that there were conferences there in the past, etc. It's a nice way of presenting information and not doing so in a way that was offensive, and I admire the journalistic integrity (if that's the right term) in regards to you being straightforward without making it feel uncomfy to watch.

This is amazing, you went above and beyond. I think they saw your presentation and was scared of you. They were like, "this person is serious!" You check all the boxes so they had no excuse in saying "theres not enough evidence" or "who are you talking about" "this is unclear information." You also avoided them claiming that the letter never arrived. You made them take it seriously and because of that, desperate vulnerable parents and kids will no longer be targeted. I just wish, Amare made it against policy to use and exploit underaged kids to help sell the products. It would have been nice to see that the child no longer had to be featured in the videos.
This also shows that even though we are just 1 person, we can make a huge difference by doing the right things in the right way that leaves no gaps for excuses to form or accumulate. Mail sent to the company’s PO Box would just come to us and we’d do data entry, donation deposits, and even sending out thank you notes and other items on the company’s behalf. They are one of the most dangerous MLM companies I’ve ever seen. Their messaging is extremely problematic. I wish more people would report!

Welcome Back Hannah and congrats on the new bundle of joy! I just started watching this video and had to stop to write this. It's really funny how you have achieved pretty much every single goal of an MLM Hun. Mainly you are your own boss, and that you were able to work the hours you wanted to work and have the ability to take time off for maternity leave...and you didn't have to scam anyone, spam post, or go bankrupt in the process! Keep up the awesome work on these videos!

You're the most responsible, kind and mature about how you speak about and feature people. It's refreshing!

I'm so grossed out and feel so bad for that girl and other kids whose parents are contacting the hun. As a parent with ADD with a son with ADD, it just triggers me, especially badly. Medication has been a life saver for my son and myself. They've helped create healthier habits and routines. It's frustrating as hell.
Also, separately, hyperactivity is not always a symptom of ADD, which is why is moved more to be described as ADD with ADHD being the subset that predominantly shows hyperactivity. I only learned this after my son and I were diagnosed, as we have quite distinct and different symptoms.

Also! Amazing comeback video, Hannah! I love how classy you are and how you made a TANGIBLE change in an MLMers behavior without trying to destroy or humiliate them. I know she is still being scummy, but I honestly think even her not using the hashtag “ADHD” anymore is a huge win! Thanks for doing such informative and impactful work!

13:27 I'm not a professional "yet" (my degree does deal with this however; I have my associates, will have my bachelor's in 2 years) and...I'm not even sure they can legally call this a "study" because it's a survey. (for reference, I'm in environmental science, and while not in health related fields, I deal a LOT with studies and statistics, including reviews of studies, etc). Surveys are HIGHLY biased. It's likely they sent these products FREE to some people, then sent an electronic survey and only 10 filled it out. I would need to see their so-called study information and how they did the sampling, and how they did the survey...which isn't information they provide. Most parents rarely notice changes in their kid's behavior because it's "normal" for them. Did they do the Vanderbilt assessment every single day? Weekly? How long did these kids trial the products? SO many questions. This would automatically lead me to say it's completely invalid and therefore a scam.

One of my high school girlfriends reached out to me at the beginning of the pandemic when I was at my most vulnerable:: I’d left an abusive relationship and moved to a different state with just my doggy and what I could pack in my car. I’d been completely isolated from everyone because of my ex. I innocently thought she was cheating on me but quickly I heard the word Arbonne! I was so desperate I almost became one of your horror stories. Thankfully I couldn’t afford the start package, so I declined and she never reached out again but still had the AUDACITY to try to recruit my sister. I still saw her social media transform into an Arbonne ad. After seeing your videos,I’ve been dying to reach out to her with the facts!

An Amare rep got me when I was dealing with debilitating anxiety and I was desperate :/ I tried it for a month and it did not work at all. So glad I decided to say no to continuing that route and instead got onto some medication that actually helped! I am finally off of the medication as well and I’m feeling so free!

Welcome back & congrats! As a mom of 4 (now grown) kids, I remember the sleep deprivation. It’s rough! May it not last too long for you. Glad you got the time to enjoy ALL the baby cuddles (they’re the best!).

It's not getting better for me. My second wakes hourly overnight, every night, and he's 1 in a few weeks. It's actually worse than when he was a newborn doing 2 hour wakes. If I'd seen this coming I wouldn't have had babies back to back that's for sure 😂

Thank you for having the moral fortitude to follow through on this matter. The fact that you went way above & beyond to not only inform the company, but also provided images, links, dates & other pertinent info speaks volumes of your integrity & shows just how much you genuinely care about the well being of others. As a mother of a child with ADHD & Autism Spectrum Disorder & as an adult with ADHD as well, I too could've easily fallen victim to their schemes if not for the fact that I have 22+ yrs in nursing & I understand the seriousness of the situation. I realize this video is a yr old & I've been subscribed for approx that amount of time, but rarely comment. Congratulations on motherhood! 😊
