There's a lot of guitar players that are way way better than him, but that makes him my #1 guitarist. I dunno why, but i just love listening to his playing style and what he does on stage.
Definitly one of the most chilled out guys you'll ever meet. Got the chance to meet the guys when they came to Sweden last january, and they were all cool about everything. Really nice guys, not to mention Jim.
+vlekje34 Oh yeah fuck face? whats that at 1:45? There's a lot of different types of blues. Get your facts straight before you embarrass yourself like this and get laughed at by other guitarists.
Not only do I love him as a player , and just a cool individual, Orange amps just have a certain "Twang" about them that ive always liked!!! Stoner rock/Blues have always been my fav style of music, and the Orange just has a smidge of fuzz, and distortion that is perfect for me!!!!
Just got my Rockerverb in! I've been through 11 different amps and the Rockerverb by far has the best tone in my opinion! I first played it on an orange cab and I think it sounded better than my Mesa cab so off to Reverb it goes!
After MANY MANY Marshalls of different variety and even a Soldano Hot Rod 50 I ended up with one of these. Best amp I have ever played/owned. PERIOD. Been playing in bands for over 20 years so I have been through a LOT of amps. This is IT!
enough gain without od at front bro??? i also like it very much from all videos but no chance to test it.. i also wonder if that beast can play at bedrooms volume ty
so you know how in Dragon Ball Z Cell absorbs android 17 and changes do you think Jim absorbs smaller weaker hipsters to look this way? but all kidding aside love this guy and his playing
He sounds like Guitar Center, when I try to come in and listen to a new guitar/amp, and some kid in another part of the store turns it up to '11' and tries to be Jim Root.
I have a orange micro dark 20w tube and the mini 8 black cab for it. It's sounds amazing with my PRS standard 24. I also have Glen Hughes limited orange crush 50 bass amp. That also is an amazing amp. The sound that come out of orange is so solid and awesome.
Back on the Iowa tour when they were in Florida I got to meet the entire band. All cool, I looked up to Joey for I play drums, Jim is a monster on guitar
Mick and Jim are so great together they have the 2 styles that are most guaranteed for success Mick has a strick well grounded well knowledged music theory style matter of fact the guy was a guitar teacher before slipknot got famous and Jim has a laid back but extremely creative style a lot like Hendrix or slash I'm sure these guys argue a lot on how they want their guitar parts I'd love to see it lol Mick would be talking all fancy music theory stuff he'd be like "no no no the major 7th doesn't fit with the minor diminished 3rd" and Jim would be all like "hey just relax man it sounds cool" hey Sid you wanna go set in my car and smoke a joint?
Today I learn something, never go to the comments section in a Slipknot related video, there are lots of kids that dont even know how to plug a guitar and pretending to know shit they start commentong btw the looks dont fucking matter, and kids Jim root is a well known RESPECTED player, not the best and not even close too, but i like what he does thats the reason I'm here
Personally I don't like Slipknots music but listening to him playing with no mistakes and not hiding behind gain was awesome and I have a new respect for the band.
I used mine last night. The voice of the world speakers sound great with everything from my 50w Stealth to the Orange Brent Hinds Terror I pair it with occasionally.
Thankfully modelling technology has developed so much...these awesome tones are now accessible. I wish Orange will come up with a 20W two channel full EQ lunch box amp
Orange 🍊 is kinda old school so to get what you want you could go micro dark put an eq pedal in your chain wind the amp up to get the dirty tone you like then roll off the volume on your guitar 🎸 to clean it up. There’s your 20 watt setup with eq and 2 channels😉
If you are thinking about ENGL, you are better off with the Dark Terror instead of this Jim Root one. The Jim Root Orange doesn't even have much of a metal voicing, it lacks the lows and some highs as well. At least it sounded lacking to me, compared with the Dark Terror..
Wait, sorry. You where probably asking about the Rockerverb 100 mk3. Since i saw Jim and his signature amp in the video i thought you where asking about the Jim Root Terror..
Steve Carlsson when I tried out the the MK3 it had more than enough punch and versatility to play metal rhythm (especially when you crank the gain and scoop the mids), if you wanted to play lead, I'd probably still pair it with an OD pedal, but it is a great amp, however the Dual Dark is considered more of metal amp
Question that probably will never get answered but why does slipknot never have amps on stage love you guy and my next generation love you guys my two son's grow up listening to slipknot 😂
"You Know"- Jim Root
"you know what i mean" - Steve Vai
"Y'know" - Paul MacCartney

I get chills everytime he plays a Slipknot riff. So sick seeing the source play after hearing these songs dozens of times.

James' fluidity is the reason he's one of my favorite. Staccato is fine but damn. His playing is so smooth and effortless.
because its sophomoric simplistic playing
There's a lot of guitar players that are way way better than him, but that makes him my #1 guitarist. I dunno why, but i just love listening to his playing style and what he does on stage.
@@chrise.3814 Yes. Because being smooth and fluid are signs of being a juvenile beginner.

Cool, your mom must play guitar for Slipknot 😃
Ive watched this 20 times over the years. Jim is soooo good. Not just in the slipknot context. As a guitar player in general. Fucking tremendous.

You can tell James loves blues and jazz. Almost every guitar demo you see on you tube he's demonstrating his spectrum of music. Very talented

I've noticed the Orange cabs also have a lot to contribute to the sound. the cabs are deeper.
jims guitar skills are just insane
LOL, His Blues playing is epic.

the MKIII is 2100 alone
Buy a car or buy an amp? It's about the same price....
I have only used simulators the last 10 years but recently bought a real tube head and it kills the simulators, brutally!

Listening to his riffs got me singing the songs along with him playing. Dame its sounds crazy good. Makes it seem so easy that Jim root.
i was watching this through the window of the cabin, he sounded amazing !

That Dual Dark behind sure seems tempting but the Rockerverb mkiii is the way to go!!!

I have the original Rockerverb and imo the tube configuration makes the sound more unique than the next models.
Forget the Overdrive, the clean channel is gorgeous. A good match for that fender Jazz tone.
The riff from killpop sounds amazing
These are my favorite next to the peavey 51/50
rustyrides600 same here the evh 5150iii 100 head sounds amazing
Word goes around that Jim used a 5150 on "IOWA", my guess is boosted with a ProCo Rat, at least that's what it sounds like to me.

Love or hate slipknot. Hes an unreal guitarist.
He is really awesome guitarist
The amount of times he flips his hair is equivalent to how much gain he keeps saying this amp has
That bluesy stuff he was doing sounded amazing.
His tone is so fucking good

I'm thinking of using a 2x12 open back cab with jensen black bird speakers installed for this amp. thoughts?

Is tight enough to play metal without OD like with ENGL?
not at all, it's kinda muddy without it.

I love the sound of orange amps, if I ever buy another amp it will either be a orange or diezel

Is this him playing with just the amp? or does he have some pedals behind it. Id really to buy one if thats the sound with no pedals
no pedals
no pedals but the amp is too expensive
I want a rockerverb but I'm a little hesitant because I haven't heard one clear sound clip of one, with gain. It always sounds muddy.
