I think as a person in their 20s, I feel so much pressure from seeing other people go out & do all these social things. I feel like I had made that my idea of fun for a long time, even though I didn’t enjoy it. So every time I went out, I was having fun for a total of 15 mins and then I wanted to leave. Watching you live your life, not caring if people say you’re always home, enjoying minimal things and alone time, that makes me feel so much lighter bc thats all i wanna do too. And this just takes off that pressure of confining to ideas of fun that are only in my head.
Trust me you're not the only one. When I was a teenager all I did was go out and socialize and come home very late. Now in my mid 20s I NEVER leave my house or hang out with friends. I don't care about socializing and think its quite pointless. I enjoy being alone and going outside alone and breathing in the fresh air. Embrace who you are because we are all unique in our own ways and should never feel pressured to live like others.

I feel like our age group has these feelings of general confusion with our lives and a sense of dissatisfaction because we were the first generation to fully grow up with social media. We grew up viewing these influencers living these crazy lives full of luxury, traveling, always having something big and excited coming up. But then when we got to this age and realized it’s not this big party all the time. Something that stayed with me recently was when someone said to find the beauty of mediocrity in life. Having a simple daily routine, going to work, spending time alone or with family, etc. those simple times and moments are what shape us more than expecting our 24/7 lives to always look like highlight reels.
Wow i turned 19 a while ago and This just explained my entire life. It's literally like having a mid life crisis but in your fucking late teens and 20s. Not knowing what you want to do with your life (and not needing to) is an amazing privilege to have at your age. The majority of people have no choice but to "figure it out" so they can start earning income, so that they can survive... Not saying you aren't grateful, and I know you've put in work to get where you are, but I think if you had the right perspective you would mainly just be feeling blessed/lucky to be in the position you're in and to have the insane beauty, charisma, talent etc that's helped enable you to get there.
Yeah I agree, she just sounds a little ungrateful. Like some people don’t get to do what they want, they’re forced to work a full time job and don’t have the time to sit and read for 10+ hours a day, buy decorate things, and sit at home all day. Idk I just think she doesn’t really take into account what other people go through.

coming from a 17yo me, someone who has expressed since a veryyy young age what they wanted to do with their life (meaning that i had decided when i was in elementary school that i wanted to be a veterinarian and kept chasing after that), it has become very -mentally and physically- exhausting and tasking to keep up my studying all throughout middle and high school. So feeling comfortable and happy without planning for anything and living in the moment is something that i wish i had. So your videos are very calming and remind me that not everything in life goes or has to go a certain way for it to be enjoyable and fulfiling

I go to UCD for vet school, and I just want to say, the road is so daunting, but rewarding I promise! It only gets harder, u will burn out at some point probably, but keep pushing and you'll get there! The friends u make will keep u together in your hardest times, so don't forget to make your relationships a priority in your life as well!

I’m kinda the opposite lmao I am very much a planner and know exactly were I want to be in 5,8,10 years. But is very much exhausting because no matter how much you plan, things still will not go as you expect. It just leads to a lot of disappointment. I guess I’m just tired of making plan Bs. At the same time I still prefer to be disappointed than to feel lost, it gives me so much anxiety not having those plans and working towards a specific goal. I’m kinda the opposite lmao I am very much a planner and know exactly were I want to be in 5,8,10 years. But is very much exhausting because no matter how much you plan, things still will not go as you expect. It just leads to a lot of disappointment. I guess I’m just tired of making plan Bs. At the same time I still prefer to be disappointed than to feel lost, it gives me so much anxiety not having those plans and working towards a specific goal. But I’m trying to incorporate some “just living the moment” times in my life specially when it comes to my relationships and love life.

I read it again for the legit 5th time at the beach and my husband was like “why are you crying?!” and my brother in law was like “her fooking book.”
