He lost me when he referred to the marines as the finest fighting force in the world. As an airborne ranger who most of my friends went onto SF, Delta, LURCH-D or Pathfinders, I’d consider them far superior soldiers than a marine. My Ranger buddy in ranger school was a force recon marine and I’d put him up higher turn a regular ground pound marine.
He forgot the important part, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, it’s between 2 apostrophes, it’s a separate statement. That statement is followed by shall not be infringed. Also the BoR is about individual rights.
Has this guy ever thought that maybe a gun free zone is an open invite for criminals to use guns in that zone. Though most of us civilians are lulled to sleep by it, it should scare folks to know there are risks you take going into school or government institutions when that “No Firearms Allowed” sign is posted outside the premises.
Criminals pick "soft" targets....that's a fact. Think about it. Schools...majority of teachers are females. Elementary schools especially. Then you have young children that are basically defenseless.
As a reservist in the Marine Corp, we did the whole thing in 3 days then clean up, weather permitting. That is including table 1 and 2. The 2nd amendment is about the law that protects the human from protecting one's self without legal recourse.

Also the commas note that everything before the words “the right” is e brief preamble/explanation for the right.

1:51 while serving in the US Armed Forces, you are temporarily not a member of the militia, as your participation in the military supersedes the militia until your term of service is up. Militia members are not subject to UCMJ, but service members are while serving.
What sucks for this dude is that you're supposed to get wiser as you get older. Sadly for Santa Claus man it seems like he went in the other direction.
3 days.... We qual for 3 days in the fleet. 2 practice days and qual day. Secondly, the purpose of rifle qualification is to maintain proficiency. I'd say most gun owners probably hit the range more often than your average Marine so it's a moot point. When we look at definitions of words used, we have to use the definition of the time, not the definition of words now. Regulated at the time is often defined as directed. So, A well regulated (directed, or possibly familiarized) militia (notice how militia is used, NOT military, militias being raised from civilians to supplement the army, or in the case of the US to possibly combat the countries own army) being necessary for the security of a free state; the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. To translate this to modern English: A well trained and familiarized (with common place equipment) militia being necessary to the security of the free state; the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Absolutely zero mention of the government military, FOR GOOD REASON. The 2nd amendment is not for soldiers or Marines. It is for THE PEOPLE. The implication being we will have access to common military equipment, and in the event of a tyrannical government uprising we will have the means to secure the free state. This guy's a fuckin dunce. Rifle/Pistol coach, probably got taxed out for being a shitbag. That's what we did with em anyways.
Every branch had clowns like these. They are the ones that are always touted. I'm a veteran, so I'm better than you, bs. These people are some of the reasons why civilians in military towns hate the military.

When the Revolution began, all there was was a militia. There was no standing army. By the time the Constitution was written there was a very small army.
So REGULATED as written back then meant WELL ARMED not as its common meaning today “restricting” . If written today it would say a WELL ARMED militia. Think about that; their would be no need to say a well restricted militia, being necessary to a free state, only a well armed militia can keep you free……. Prove I’m wrong
A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State" are two subordinate or "dependent" clauses. They only give additional information to the main sentence. The main sentence, "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." contains a subject and a predicate and thus contains a complete, conclusive thought to which the dependent clauses add more info.
True. Plenty of women, old men, men missing legs, even some free black men owned forearms in the 1700s- yet none of them were even qualified to join militias. Therefore, the founders clearly did not mean you had to be in a militia to own firearms.

Word meanings change with time. Considering the word selection in its use of the 2A has led me to believe the meaning would have included the words capable, qualified, effective… rather than a loophole to reduce its potency by restriction.
@@waggtech4883 Word meanings do change; however, the original intent is what matters in this case. The original intent was that in order for a militia to work properly (ie, well-regulated) and to maintain freedom, the right of the people to bear arms is not to be infringed. Changing meanings to further an agenda is not how the Constitution should be interpreted. As it is, that right has already been infringed plenty.

THIS IS THE EXACT REASON THAT WE HAVE THE 2ND AMMENDMENT----- TO KEEP OUR MILITARY FROM TAKING US OVER IF THEY EVER WISH TO DO SO FOR ANY REASON!!!
The phrase "well-regulated" was in common use long before 1789, and remained so for a century thereafter. It referred to the property of something being in proper working order. Something that was well-regulated was calibrated correctly, functioning as expected. Establishing government oversight of the people's arms was not only not the intent in using the phrase in the 2nd amendment, it was precisely to render the government powerless.

Maybe. Just don't kid yourself that the military hasn't got more and more full of these people. And now, people who aren't like this have been actively purged.
Grass week for me was eating grass and rolling around because a Navy O6 decided to be STUPID SLOW for my qual and caused me to unq because he cost me 7 saved rounds.
“Well regulated” in the vernacular of 1791 meant “in proper working order. A clock was said to be “well regulated” if it kept correct time.

A trigger puller instructor in the Marines is not an expert on active aggressors/mass shootings.
This “Marine” has forgotten his oath. My oath of enlistment has not and will not ever expire or be forgotten.

2 weeks to qual in the Fleet. ah nope.
As a reservist in the Marine Corp, we did the whole thing in 3 days then clean up, weather permitting. That is including table 1 and 2. The 2nd amendment is about the law that protects the human from protecting one's self without legal recourse.
The 2nd is written “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” Well regulated in this context means disciplined and supplied. Also the commas note that everything before the words “the right” is e brief preamble/explanation for the right.
In the Army it takes a day to re qual for expert. You’d be laugh at it took two weeks.

1:51 while serving in the US Armed Forces, you are temporarily not a member of the militia, as your participation in the military supersedes the militia until your term of service is up.

Well regulated when the second amendment was written meant proficient with your arms, not lawyered to death.
