I think some people are just new to VR and don’t know the imagine is basically not as crisp as a 4K tv for instance. Aside that I think it’s obvious when something is blurry versus not blurry, it takes a couple of minutes to make that basic change.
If you've never worn glasses before or any headset, you'll need to get used to the idea that lenses require precision. If you look through a microscope, prescription glasses, camera, etc., they all have narrow sweet spots. Software can compensate somewhat, but that's the physics of how lenses work.
Most uncomfortable headset! Until I watched this! 😂😂😂 Many ppl who owned the first PSVR are wearing it like the old one. Back strap placement is a game changer. Thanks a lot man
My issue was even though I'm near sighted and don't need to wear my glasses most of the time... it made a huge difference for VR. Not sure why the lens trick our brain or eyes but if you're near sighted wear your glasses.
I accidentally disabled gaze foveated rendering in Horizon's options, switching it back on was liberating, lol. Guess half of the people complaining it's blurry have it disabled too.. There's still a bit of blur in the distance, but it's easy not to be bothered about that for me personally
Thanx been iritating until u get sweet spot but thanx for better advice i have cloth lense covers and microfibre expert cloths they are great but always do set up everytime i play so im spot on for me thsnx alot for advice keep up great work respect from UK bro
playing re8 is like watching an imax 3d movie from the 2000's. the picture is slightly fuzzy no matter what. u know how i know. i didnt tighten anything and pressed it against my face in a free form sort of way and held in the best possible angle. in RE8 everything is slightly fuzzy.
Scratch on the lenses will not be noticeable when in VR...but if you use scratch remover, you will remove antireflective coating...and you can basically throw your psvr2 to the trash.
I haven’t been wearing my back strap that far down. It pretty much sits on top of my head more like a halo. Maybe if I fix this it’ll be clearer. Can’t wait to try it out
I live in Florida and it gets insanely hot in the headset. I have to wipe the lenses pretty regularly with a lens cleaning cloth. Plus pulling out the facial interface just a little helped me find the sweet spot, until then I had it all the way and it was a bit blurry.
I actually found that the initial setup made it worse than what I wanted. It would only allow me to proceed with certain settings once the setup itself thought it was optimal, so I basically had to follow through and then change them again afterwards in order to get the settings that felt best for me. The scroll wheel thing was one of those examples where the PS5 basically wanted me to pinch my nose thightly in order to proceed, but like you said the front of the headset should just float, and instead let the forehead band and neck band carry the weight. Hopefully Sony will do some adjustments to the wizard to account for different head shapes and sizes.
I still find I can only bring it into focus for things that are directly in front. The periphery is always blurry, so I always have to turn my whole head to see things clearly, even though it's in a place where naturally I'd just move my eyes. Especially annoying if it includes text!
I’ve been hearing people say not to use those pre-moistened lens cleaning wipes, but I’ve been using those and they’re great. They have the slightest bit of moisture on them, so they aren’t sopping wet, and they clean great. If you use those, just make sure they are safe for glass and plastic lenses.
The main reason people are suggesting not to use them is not so much the lenses, altough it's still better to avoid mositure, it's because of the eye tracking sensors around the edge.
The blur is part of the lens module design. There is a Sony tear down that clearly (pun intended) shows the film. It is there just like the PSVR1 to mask the SDE from the OLED pixel arrays. 1/3 of the diodes are not active with OLED, due to the tech involved. This causes SDE to be more pronounced. More directly put, you can't get rid of the blur. Compare to the Q2 with a movie or text. The Q2 is a lot more clear.
There are definitely reasons the industry moved away from OLED displays in VR headsets. The OLED diehards will never admit it's anything aside from a perfect tech though of course.
Yeah, this loses credibility with me when I hear that Quest2 is a better screen… in no way! I have both and the OLED, HDR, and sharpness are top notch on the PSVR2. Yeah it’s not 4k sharp, but when I find the sweet spot, it’s def the best of any headset I’ve tried.
I was really impressed with the initial setup procedure of the PSVR2 it felt quite next-gen, if Sony had also introduced an onscreen utility to track your eyes into the sweet-spot then tell you to tighten the headband at that place it would have been helpful, I mean the eye tracking is tremendous so why can't it track people's eyes into the sweet spot?
Doesn't it? There's a whole placement setting where it tracks your eyes to the center and adjusts the headset to your eyes. You can access it anytime quickly with the shortcut card in the menu. It does exactly what you're asking. I've tested it. I fiddled with the adjustments in the game until I found the sweet spot to my eyes and went to the adjustment screen. And it was centered perfectly to my eyes. So it does work.
@@sawdust8691 But why are so many people apparently struggling to get the headset into the correct position, I think they need a sweet spot utility that tells them on screen that the "sweet spot has been located" that way they are not forever adjusting and searching for something that they may never find because their eyes actually need to see a higher resolution image not just a sweet spot. People could then say "yes I saw the sweet spot indicator found message", but its not good enough for me" and then either choose to keep or send the headset back, Sony must have play tested this device and received feedback from all the development kits that they sent out,?
@Tech Infusion I think the primary issue is that People new to VR expected more. Sure the sweet spot is small, but it isn't THAT hard to find. After putting it on a few times it takes less than 10 seconds to find. It was marketed as "4K HDR OLED". Which it is, but in a headset that means you get 2K with a bit of blur and other effects. Its not nearly as good looking as a TV, and I think a lot of people expected it to be, so they are dissatisfied. In reality it's one of the best headsets out there. But the clarity in VR disappoints people who didn't understand what to expect.
@@sawdust8691 Yes that is how I see it too, I think the PSVR2 has the potential for great things, we certainly have not seen the best it can do yet, it will take a while before we see that.
It depends on the game. To see it clearly play Resident Evil Village and after the crash when you first go into the forest is it's mist noticilble. It's one of those things that playing on headsets that don't have it then play on PSVR2 it becomes very noticible. For me it's the ghosting that's even worse. But many don't mention it so it doesn't bother them. But if they were to play without the ghosting it will shock how smooth VR can be.
Do you need a 4K TV to use the PSVR2? I can’t select HDR for the PSVR2 because it says “Your TV is not compatible”. It’s only 1080p. Could this be one of the reasons that mine looks very blurry?
Cause all the people that tested it actually knew how to put it on there head properly. Anyone that says the image is blurry just simply is not wearing the headset correctly
@@jason5021 thanks Jason. At least you get it. To be honest my ignorance to this subject was changed as users got them headset. I can only react when I know I should if that makes sense

I had high hopes for this headset but looks like I might waiting instead for the Quest 3 or Valve Deckard etc. I think we've another 5 year wait before we get an affordable headset which is actually "pin sharp" Need to try the psvr2 for myself!
You actually do, and shouldn't base your opinions on idiots that can't even put on the headset correctly. It's very nice and sharp, don't know what these people are doing wrong.
@@GAMERTAGVR I did hear you and Mike mention that it does have a velvety screen door effect. That UA-camr is full of shit. It’s a 4K panel which means 2K per eye and looks well above 1080p even. Sorry man unless your trolling you’re listening and watching a fool

The silicon also gives my wife the rash around the facial nasal area and eyes same problem as what was on the oculus we have had to email PlayStation see if there is an alternative face mask being made for those sensitive to the silicon
Got progressive lenses and it makes PSVR2 almost unusable, because you have there is a sweet spot on on both glasses and headset, and they have to match!
That does sound impossible, lol. My dad struggles with just the progressive lenses alone, so I can't imagine trying to align both! Have you thought about using reading glasses while using the headset? Also, make sure to be extra careful not to scratch the lenses with your glasses, and vice versa.
Oh, but if you're really enthusiastic about VR, they also make prescription lens inserts to put on top of the lens so that you don't have to wear glasses during VR. I'm sure they will make some for PS VR2 soon, if they aren't available yet.
The problem I have is when I wear the 3D pulse headphones, it prevents me from adjusting the back of the strap much and it presses down hard on the strap
I may be wrong but I predict Thrill’s next video will make a huge mountain out of a molehill regarding this. When i feel it, there are some hard points in there. The PSVR1 was all soft. Or am i missing something or is my unit faulty? Or maybe i really need to get used to it.
This bothered me originally it was hurting me pretty badly but if you put it a little higher and not tighten it so much it will sit atop of your head just fine without the pressure. I guess I was tying it so much thinking that it would help with clarity or light but you can loosen it just enough that way it's not creating any pressure on your head.
Tinkle with your headset, buy some pads from Amazon or something, geez. Quit complaining about it. It's the same thing with the quest 2. You replace garbage parts like that foam cover and the headstrap. Get the headset to sit right on your head, there's aren't any right or wrong answers here, just make it to where it sits fine.

And yes I've cleaned the lenses and adjusted every setting. Overall I'm disappointed with buying it day 1 and I expect it will collect dust just as the original headset.
@Jason Kosko it looks incredible, my roommate has the index and it's not as color bold as my psvr2, I've attached prescription lenses to my psvr2 and its night & day of difference, my prescription is mild and even so it's the whole difference, only 30% of Americans have 20/20 vision, yet everyone swears they have perfect eye sight, the PSVR2 is not blurry it's impressive how amazing it looks, the majority of you that haven't even bought one are frauds that have no direct experience or have jacked up eyes.end of story.

There really isn’t a definitive answer to stop motion sickness, though some things may help reduce it, like a fan, dramamine, ginger, travel sick tablets etc. Just pace yourself and play as long as you can and take breaks when you start to feel sick. Eventually you’ll start getting used to VR and will be able to play for longer times periods.

If anybody tells you the PSVR 2 is great they are lying through their teeth. At best, it's decent. It is entry level VR at a very VERY steep price. That's it. I enjoy it. I enjoy it a lot in fact. I am also someone who speaks the truth. I don't sweep things under the rug. I want people to know what they are buying. Because it's not cheap at all. It is very VERY expensive. It is worth more than the PS5 itself. So I just want to make sure people have their expectations of the PSVR 2 in check!!!
I actually bought a psvr2 a couple days ago and I’m still contemplating taking it back due to the horrific color fringing. I wear high prescription glasses with plastic frames and the headset is comfortable with them but the picture isn’t great. It’s grainy, blurry, it feels like watching an old 3d movie. @@ShapeshifteR-TheAnomalyGameCat it seems the actual headset is very easy to add extra padding. Excited to do that. It'll feel like a massive upgrade.
@@shenmeowzoI was initially a bit shocked that it didn't reach PSVR1 levels of comfort, but wearing a thin beanie really did wonders
If, like me, you wear glasses but choose not to in VR then maybe get some prescription lens covers. I'm definitely getting some soon...
Software can compensate somewhat, but that's the physics of how lenses work.
well done thanks help. I have PSVR2 finally good look. Sorry i'm deaf from Poland
Most uncomfortable headset! Until I watched this! 😂😂😂
Many ppl who owned the first PSVR are wearing it like the old one.
Not for me … weird, the game looks amazing on my end
Not fuzzy for me either, I played RE7 in VR recently and it was fuzzy on my old PS VR1. RE8 isn't fuzzy at all.
Played RE8 in VR for a couple of hours and it looks great, no fuzziness at all.
Wiping the lens with a microfibre cloth eliminated the "blur". Must have instantly got the lens oily when I tried to put it on first time. 😲
when I opened mine from box the lens were all oily and had streaks to the point I thought it was scratched. Microfiber cloth cleaned it right up.
Just get a microfiber cloth for cleaning eyeglasses imo.
Just spit & polish.
@@blabla1177-r7u I just breathe on my lenses like I was cleaning my glasses. You get enough little condensation on there to help.
@@Thezuule1 No, no. you want to get a decent amount of phlegm on them lenses. Then just polish the lens with that using a clean micro fiber cloth.
I don't know man, you people are completely ridiculous. The games look pretty sharp to me.
For me the games look absolutely crisp and higher res than my quest 2🤷🏽♂️
@@Thezuule1 Every screen has it's pros and cons. This goes for LCD, Oled and any other screen used. Oled just has the best picture overall imo
@Tech Infusion
I think the primary issue is that People new to VR expected more.
I'm having virtually no Mura, and a fairly clear image. I can read text easily. It's very confusing hearing these other experiences
@@laartwork the ghosting is the big thing for sure especially on the reprojected games. Firmware updates should fix that hopefully.
I’ve moved this thing all over my head and grab turismo is still blurry. Please help
Mine is crystal clear but the camera view keeps bouncing around
Do you need a 4K TV to use the PSVR2? I can’t select HDR for the PSVR2 because it says “Your TV is not compatible”. It’s only 1080p. Could this be one of the reasons that mine looks very blurry?
I’ve never seen this before. I use an Elgato HD60s for my capture and is fine?
Good stuff man ❤️
So, many videos on this now. This issue wasn't mentioned by any of the mob who got early access not a one

@is that a fact I don't know my guy, as someone who actually plays vr on pc, quest 2, and the original psvr, this headset is the sharpest one I played on. Pavlov couldn't looks anymore clearer and sharper if I wanted it too.

Nice video, thanks :)
The only comfort thing that has been bothering me is the edges of the lenses touching my nose
Yeah the IPD adjustment to the size of the lenses can be a pain. Go through the setup in the headset and push the limit
I'm really disappointed with this news. I've heard people say no matter what they do the screens are just low rez? 90% of reviewers saying the quality is pin sharp which judging by a ton of reddit complaints this simply isn't true.
I had high hopes for this headset but looks like I might waiting instead for the Quest 3 or Valve Deckard etc.
I think we've another 5 year wait before we get an affordable headset which is actually "pin sharp"
Need to try the psvr2 for myself!
You actually do, and shouldn't base your opinions on idiots that can't even put on the headset correctly. It's very nice and sharp, don't know what these people are doing wrong.
Check out my review for a real explanation of the headset
Seems to have a proper explanation🤷♂️
@@GAMERTAGVR I did hear you and Mike mention that it does have a velvety screen door effect. One youtuber said if you turn down your TV to 720p whilst watching a gt7 clip that's for representative of what it looks like in the headset. Guess your brain gets used to it but for £530 and a ps5 I want the mura effect gone tbh.
That UA-camr is full of shit. It’s a 4K panel which means 2K per eye and looks well above 1080p even. Sorry man unless your trolling you’re listening and watching a fool

Good one!
Thank you sir.
Can it be any microfiber cloth?
I may be wrong but I predict Thrill’s next video will make a huge mountain out of a molehill regarding this. I’ve already read comments on his channel from people who think the Quest 2 is a better (ie superior visuals) headset than the PSVR2.
I’ve yet to try the PSVR2, but how on gods green earth can it look worse than the standalone Quest2?
PSVR2's colors are much better but it ends there. Quest 2 visuals are better in every other way.
@Jason Kosko like brightness, black levels and graphics as well?
@@TheAbvsyork Like I said colors are better because of the oled display. Not really sure what you are refering to when you say graphics? Are we talking about a ps5 vs quest 2 processor? because I am only talking about the display because many people use there quest 2 connected to a pc for the processing.
@Jason Kosko Not that many people dude, there's a very very select amount of people who use high-end gaming rigs and an even smaller number who are into vr, most people who buy a quest 2 are beginner vr players looking for the cheapest most accessible vr experience, the high-end experience is very marginal, hell the most popular graphics card is a 1650ti followed by the gtx 1060, and even of those people with high-end gaming rigs, a lot of them are preferring the psvr2, and my point still stands, you mentioned colors, you forgot black level, and brightness, And overall image clarity according to John Linneman (Digital Foundry)

I have the trouble that it is a little front heavy, so it tends to tilt down after 5 mins. It’s most likely the shape of my head.

Maybe i should try it out with a little had on or something like that.
Feel the padding is not as could as they should.
You can wear a bandana headband/neck gaiter thing...help keep it clean and sweat free too...great if you take turns with freinds...give them their own gaiter...I bought a 6 pack from an online auction for $1.50 LOL

A small improvement from the PSVR 1.
