I bought my Quest 3 about a month or so. I have turned it on now and then but my handsets have stopped working so now I can't register. I have checked the batteries & that with no joy. Should I be worried or is there a way to get them back in action? I'm impressed by the quality & plan to use them to my simulator, do you cover that or can you point me in the correct direction. I am looking at buying this, probably mostly for watching movies in bed. guessing the standard headstrap would work and guessing the image would be near ceiling? also wondering if it can be plugged in whereas not to run down the battery. Truth be told, VR headsets are best for seated vehicle games such as flying and racing. It's where VR started and where it has the biggest staying power imho. I was playing DCS in 2010 before VR and still play it today in VR. WarThunder is also pretty decent, for what it is. Play those in VR and you just can't go back to a flatscreen. Same applies to racing games, though I'm less interested in those.
Can I use hands instead of the controllers. I purchased the Meta Quest 3 headset. Does not include the controllers. I ended up sending the no controller Metaquest 3 back and purchasing the 3 that includes controllers. The only deal is eyes hurt after using this for over 4 hours. There needs to be a way to move the theatre size screen fiuther away. I like the size but not the closeness. Also You Tube recordings look way too blurry for using such a expensive headset.
I need a video containing all the tips on how to stream from quest 3 wirelessly to twitch and be able to get things like discord chat audio sent to the headset. I'm slowly finding what I need everything is a separate video. I know it would be more of a niche video probably not worth the effort but man would it be handy. I at least found how to cast my video and audio from the quest 3 to the pc to capture it in obs and how to put twitch chat in the vr environment. I managed to get discord chat into my headset using virtual desktop but it would echo bad and I couldn't figure out why. Looks like I need to enable dev m9de and do some side questing. So much to learn.
Update....it seems there is NO WAY to overlay twitch chat into the vr environment when playing standalone vr games. Solution, earbuds or headphones with low latency 2.4ghz pass-through usb c dongle that also have simultaneous bluetooth. Can get game audio through the low latency and discord audio/twitch chat tts via Bluetooth.
This was hands down the best review I was kinda skeptical After my purchase cuz you kinda have to invest on top of the 500$ price tag. game lobbies lack players l unless you know what Time everyone gets on but even then the vr scene need more adults the stock head strap is painful to wear after 30 minutes the battery life was by far the most disappointing part but after watching this review I feel like I have Something super cool that more people need to have and I still gotta learn about all of it’s possibilities
Sucks that the Quest3 won't cast to a TV ... I have to cast to the phone, then cast the phone to the TV. They need to fix that. Also, sucks that you can't easily play in, say, the back of a car ... the boundary system hates obstacles even in sitting mode and insists on a 6ft diameter space. Sucks that I had to reboot SO many times because after refusing to save a boundary (due to space, although it doesn't tell you this) it would lock up, requiring a reboot for each attempt. Sucks that you need to jump through hoops to get into developer mode to turn off boundary mode completely in order to play in tight spaces Sucks that with boundary off, it also disables passthrough - for no obvious reason. With boundary guardian off, pass-through would be useful! Sucks that you can't play lying down, because the horizontal plane can't be adjusted. Sucks that even though the controllers have IR lights, you can't play in the dark - the quest refuses to see the controllers. huh? I love the headset, but the sheer amount of annoying limitations I've had to work around is incredible. Also, Meta needs to fix its peripheral game. The default strap is an insult... and all their other accessories have predatory pricing. I love my Q3, but there are a LOT of dumb decisions being made by Meta.
Dude 90% of your listed issues are caused by you having an issue with with the boundary and the troubles caused by trying to get rid of it. 99% of the people is okey it’s the boundary system. You dont need it after the first time, if at all.
