Five minutes after I received my headset I was complaining of how blurry it was probably because I’m used to the first generation headset but after watching your video I ran downstairs tried it out again, but I seated the band a lot lower and it work perfect man you are a lifeSaver
If you followed the directions and read the manual you wouldn't have been needed to be told otherwise. Just follow directions from the jump dude. 😂 The set up is beyond self explanatory.
@@GFG2gifted umm I did follow directions my dude. The problem was I was so used to the old version of the headset that I was not seating it low enough. And NOWHERE in the setup did it say to seat it that low... my guy.
@@TommyBoy82 always back seat drivers telling you what you should do 😆
@@GFG2giftedwhat’s the point of writing this? Why do you dorks have to always have a superiority complex? Because outside you Reddit dweebs are awfully timid.
The best video I have seen on UA-cam to help people who have blurriness. I spent some time during setup and have had no issues. I am blown away! Thank you Bryan for being the best resource out there for everything PSVR
Great video! Just want to clarify for any new VR users... "extremely sharp" is very subjective. To someone well-versed in VR, extremely sharp means something much different than someone who has only gamed on 4K TVs. The TV is always gonna look better because it's so far away that you can't see pixels. In VR, the screens are super close to your eyes, so extremely sharp won't be crystal clear. However, it should still look amazing. It just takes time to find the sweet spot (It's my third day having it and every day it looks better because I'm getting better at finding the sweet spot + I'm getting used to playing VR again)
man, I thought there was an hair on my monitor! 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, I think I got a little over hyped with the visuals, its leagues better than the quest one that I upgraded from, but my expectations were way to high. I also found a sweet spot and with my new expectations, I'm finding myself more And more impressed every time I put on the headset
An excellent point, not sure why anyone whould expect the same visuals as the TV. I've been immersing myself in No Man's Sky. Oh my God!!! It's stunning. PSVR2 is my first forray into the world of VR (the last VR I played was back in the late 80's 😲) It's certainly not the same picture you get looking at the flat TV. But, you can't beat flying past a frigate, and looking at it out of the side window as you fly by; and I haven't even tried Call of the Mountain yet. Granted it's not perfect, but it's so very close, even if I only play NMS on it, it'll have been worth it, I love it 😀
Also I am wondering why edge to edge clarity is never discussed. Sharpness is referring to the center of the screen. But when you move your eyes (without moving your head) there is some blurriness that occurs due to the frensel lens. I am just fairly confused why people don’t discuss this. Unless mine is just busted
@@metalrock720 same with me!
Here's a tip that helps finding the sweet spot, use the pass through mode and look at the text, if it's blurry on top move the headset up, if it's blurry on the bottom, move the headset down.
Excellent tip. I've been doing this myself.
The importance of the eye tracking calibration being done properly cannot be overstated. Also for some reason it does "decalibrate" itself sometimes. I was confused because last night Horizon looked perfect, and now it seemed blurry. Then tried recalibrating again (even though technically the calibration _should_ be correct) and everything went to 4K glory.
Only thing is, they advertise it as 4k but it's not. It's more like 2.5k
@@robertlawrence9000 It's _technically_ 4K, 2000 per eye, so 4000 total. But yeah, I know what you mean. It's just the nature of VR currently, for "real" 4K you would need to double the resolution, which would require the games to run at 8K.
@Robert Lawrence well, it is 4K. But in VR that means 2k. They could have clarified to manage people's expectations. But they kind of did. It explicitly stated 2K per eye in the trailer for it. It's small and hidden, but it is there. And anyone who bothered to look into the headset at all would have known.
@@bury100 It is 4K actually. How do you know what 4K is? You can calculate it as pixel density in a given space. If you do the calculations, it is 4K as it has 4 times the density of 1080p. But ofcourse being so close to the sisplay shows it lower.
@@thesherlockhokage3046 Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but pretty sure it's the per eye resolution that counts, which is 2000-something. It's not like a TV where one eye is one half of the screen and the other the other half, it's combined to create the depth effect but effectively you are getting 2K resolution. With a TV if you close one eye, you still get 4K resolution but in VR if you close one eye, you get 2K. Personally I find the clarity, when properly calibrated, perfectly satisfactory (I would say similar to Oculus Quest 2 in terms of resolution, but vastly better thanks to true blacks and HDR - oh that HDR is glorious when properly implemented). Just saying that it's not technically full 4K
Fortunately I’ve had no issues with visuals, absolutely loving my purchase, after not picking up my OG PSVR in over a year, PSVR 2 has renewed my love for VR, I can’t wait to find out what this new generation of hardware will bring us, we’re already off to a flying start!
No MURA? Are you sure because it's my understanding it's always there no matter what. I've tried 4 PSVR2 headsets and they all have it. I will be buying a new one because my headset has a dead pixel so maybe I'll get lucky if some have less MURA?
@@-HICK- why buy another one? Won't Sony fix the one you already paid for?
@@adrianwiles1 someone said it's faster to do that than wait for repairs
@xHICKx 😂 I'm getting such BS vibes from you. You've tried 4 PSVR2'S 🤯
Mine looks incredible after going through the adjustments, you seem to be reciting what some people keep putting out there.
Just stop. Did I and so many others get incredibly lucky with a perfect PSVR2 that we're enjoying the amazing visuals alone?
Nah...just buy one yourself and cut the sh**t or return your PSVR2 (which you probably don't own lol)
And quit trying to find something wrong with those of us who are LOVING the CRAZY VR VISUALS WE'RE GETTING
Same when it gets blurry for me, I just re adjust my ipd dial. Love my headset
Hey! Thank you! You and the community did an excellent job.
The extra time taken to find the sweet spot is one of the few negatives I have found for PSVR2. But once you get it it looks amazing, and it gets quicker once you know what you're doing.
It’s really easy to find it. I really don’t know why people are struggling with this.
@@marcoesposito4777 you have to understand how many first time VR users there are. Expectations meets reality. I think people expected LG OLED clarity just like their 2d tvs but are so disappointed they never to took the time to understand the immense gains you'll get once you acclimate to the headset.
Great tips Bryan!! I hope this helps people 🙏🏻
This is the best video I've seen for a while, thank you A LOT man
Thanks for this video, Bryan!
Lowering the brightness definitely helped with Horizon and you're right, in general the headset sits differently that the first one.
The headband on the back needs to go way lower than in the PSVR and this will also reduce the "heavy forehead" effect that some people were complaining about.
Happy gaming everyone! 🎉
And that's the problem - when you put it lower on the back, the screens are tilted out and away from you at the bottom. Bottom line, it's a bad design, but can be corrected with velcro.
@@gogreengameon2146 No but it's hard to say cause everyone's face shape is different but so far I've not seen people complain about light leakage. This is actually one of the good part of the design. It blocks out light completely.
@@gogreengameon2146 no light gap in my case, it's pitch black in there cause they used a different design for the light shield.
@@melcrose my screens are not tilted as far as I know. The thing is that this headband is truly designed to go lower, and when I tried to put it halfway on the back of the head as I used to with psvr, the headset becomes heavy on the forehead and starts sliding down regardless of the fact that it's locked into place.
I’ve only tried horizon and thought it looked kinda washed out and low res. Turning down brightness and lowering the headset fixes this? I’m gonna have to try it
The brightness adjustment was a game changer, I really thought it looked fantastic before but tweaking the brightness made it super clear
Brightness ? how did you do it...
@@IamNOTyourSLAVE it’s in the video. Double tap the ps button.
Awesome vid. It did take me a few sessions to get used to adjusting the sweet spot. It's just different from the PSVR1's.
Once you get it, it's just incredible.
Just tried turning down the brightness and for Horizon it makes a huge difference! Great tip Bryan!
Great video! It took me a hot minute to figure out the perfect spot. I heard you could artificially increase the fov by moving the lenses closer but that’s not the case with the PSVR2. Makes it worse. And I did notice the text tip you said. That’s a great one to help find the sweet spot!
I'll join the family again soon when classes are over ❤️
So glad its finally here
Thanks for the video, I've been struggling with finding the very specific spot that isn't blurry!
Ran through your troubleshooting advice and boy did it ever help. I'm completely enamored with performance of this thing. The PSVR2 is where it's at.
The Globular Cluster CMP2 comfortable mod for the PSVR2 is the best and the ultimate solution for the PSVR2 sweet spot problems, I installed yesterday on my psvr2 and my sweet spot problems are definitely gone, everything is clearly now without any blurriness and it keeps the headset in place and it doesn't move anymore like it did before with the stock sony psvr2 pads, i don't have to keep adjusting the headset anymore because it stays and keeps everything in place no matter how much you move your head, I'm really happy with it, and i definitely recommend it 💯%
I think the problem was that most VR newbies, like me, thought the games would look like the 2d content that is being played out on the TV. But now I know that's not the case, and that's ok with me
huh. I think mine is pretty darn close.
Yup, i agree. A lot of people use terms like crystal clear, super sharp, etc etc.
For me, I've learned to adjust the headset rather quick on day one and have noticed when I got the focus right, and it's easy to setup for me now. But I still don't think it's crystal clear, or super sharp, as I am regularly gaming on a 4k monitor. Horizon FW looks so much better than cotm, even in performance. Especially if you look at anything in the distance.
The latter, is a really big problem so far in VR for me. No matter what game, Pavlov, horizon, NMS,.. everything that's in the distance, becomes super low res, super fast.
Which, is not bad per se for a VR headset, it just really isn't crystal clear at all, if you're coming from a 4k screen, or 1440p either probably.
@@jerichobarr8580noway...does that mean some headsets are better than others?
I'm thinking that VR is still a work in progress. This is my 1st VR gear and initially, I was a little let down. Call of the Mountain is the only game I've played that is true VR. I've tried the cinematic mode on other games and am not impressed. I'd much prefer to see the game on my 70" TV, because the clarity is unmatched. As for the VR games, call of the mountain is fun, and if you are just focusing on the story and wear you need to move to next, it's awesome, but if you stop and really look at the detail, it falls short. I couldn't honestly call the detail any better than 480p. On my headset at least.
@mookyyzed2216 i love resident evil 8, GT7 and Pavlov. And I can't wait to play Switchback and the walking dead saints and sinners
Excellent Tutorial and guidance. People might misunderstand the wording - Crystal Clear, it is a gorgeous display but people need to know there is a softness to the visuals. I have been tempted to create a visual a timeline of visual perception. That is on one side of the scale you might have a image of you looking underwater (blurry) all the way up to a 4K Oled tv (Sharp), holding your phone a little too close to you face where it starts to blur might be closer to what we see in PSVR2. Besides all this as a new VR user, I highly recommend it. Looking at some of the content here on this video you get a sense of the softness of the display. Keep up the great content.
Thanks like always👏👏👏👏 great info…your 100% right with the EYE TRACKING & ADJUSTING suggestions bigtime,….that was main reason why I was getting blurry issues & also the CLEAN YOUR LENSES part of the video aswell, as I was sweating profusely while playing Resident Evil Village VR & because the lenses never FOG UP like the VR1 did back in the day, I didn’t realize I had sweat build up in the lens, so I wipe them off with dry microfiber cloth’s constantly, before, during & after gameplay…then I store the VR unit in the Sony box, away from all outside elements (like dust particles in the air etc.) when I start gaming. These tips are huge along with all your other points that I wasn’t aware of & I will utilize those in future blurry endeavors shall they arise….thank you so much, all these games are so much better visuals now🤘🤘🤘🤘 breathtaking🤘😲🤘
Thanks Bryan . Lot of good tips in there .
I took me also a Day to get the sweet Spot. At first in GT7 i really could not See the Text clearly. I was dissapointed and thought to myself it can't be that blurry. I took my time did all the settings again and changed the postion how to weart the Headset and boy this was the game changer. I played GT7 and Horizon and Kayak VR and IT looks amazing. I love it. The more i play the better it gets. Thank you for your Video. Did not know that you can get into that Meu with doubletap on the PS Button
Thanks pal, pretty spot on and helpful video !!!
It’s a huge improvement over the VR1 which I got on day one. Which was still very good back in the day. I got the VR2 on pre order day. The issue I am having is with how uncomfortable it is on my forehead. The VR1 was fine. I have bought a head band from Amazon that I wear 😂, I’m no Boris Becker. Even with the head band it leaves heavy marks on my forehead. I did play for longer around hour and a half. It’s going to take a bit of time to dial it in. But the games are definitely an improvement. Specially with the controllers with the harp tic feedback. I bought the move controllers for VR1 which I payed a lot and used a few times. I believe that is a big step forward in VR gaming. But hopefully the Vr3 will be even better wireless, and better quality like 4k, 4k cinema. Let’s hope I’m still alive 😂 and have the money.
Someone on the psvr without parole discord did a very cool mod where they added padding to the psvr2. It looked comfy and he said it worked amazingly
A great info for psvr2 first timers. I will rewatch this when I finally get a psvr2.
I know you have the experience. Meow
awesome vid, gonna go theough all settings tomorrow too get max sharpness, although it's already sooooo gooodd 😊
Super comprehensive guide ty
Great advice 👍 just purchased my vr2 few days ago I'm a first time user it's am awesome system to have indeed and yes for me it takes time to get everything working smoothly but I have no complaints at all i wear eyeglasses and have found myself adjusting the headset more than I like .
Take a few minutes to perfectly calibrate. Especially the tilt of the headset, so back band is snug on back of the skull and eye proximity is perfect and level for your IPD and tracking. When you find the clear visual sweet spot for yourself, text will be sharp for example. After that, you'll always find it again and it will feel routine to calibrate it dead on and stay comfortable for hours.
Enjoy 💢💢
Great video Bryan!
Bryan, please do a review video of the PSVR2. All this time, I've been waiting for your opinion on everything, because you are the only source I really trust in this area.
Excellent video Bryan, with plenty of great tips for those having issues. 🙌💙
Really great vid Bryan thanks
Thanks for this, it helped a lot! :D
great informative video, loving my vr2
Took me a day to get used to the putting on setup..
Now I have it perfect..
Playing Rez ,I am utterly blown away by the oled screens and hdr colours..
Great tips! Proper fit seems to be key for me. Sometimes, it will be blurry on the left. My headset seems to fit naturally off center. My solution is to rotate the headset a couple degrees counter clockwise around my head by grabbing the halo ring.
For me too, on the left it seems not as sharp as the right. I guess my noggin might be mishaped 😉
Mine too. One eye will be sharp but not the other. That’s the problem with having such a small sweet spot. It moves a little bit while playing and everything is more blurry. Really bad engineering.
@@dimitriz5578yeah the sweet spot is kinda the dissapointing thing with this headset. It's really comfortable but I end up strapping it a bit tight so it doesn't move wich takes away from the confortablility factor lol.
Mine is off center, too. My right eye needs the headset a TINY bit higher to be perfect, but it wants to sit perfectly straight. I don't know what to do. If I lift the right side with my finger just a little bit it's perfect, but I can't hold it there the entire time.
Worked thanks.
My problem is that on my headset is that the sweet spot is super small, like a pea inside of a golf ball. This makes it super clear in this “pea area” but outside of that it gets blurry. This means that if I look at an object straight ahead it is super clear until I move my head just a tiny tiny bit in any direction while still looking at the same object as before. Might be something wrong with how my face/eyes are constructed but I don’t think so. And oh, I’ve tried everything mentioned in the video and more, spent a lot of time trying to make the sweet spot bigger, but can’t. Love the headset, but want to try another one out to see if there is any difference. Great video anyways 🔥🔥🔥
I'm kind of in the same spot. If you don't physically turn your head and look directly at something it's more blurry than usual. Can be just a few centimeters off center but unless you focus directly on it it's blurred. Maybe once we keep fiddling with it over time we'll get it.
@@1985NEVETS not sure how much more fiddling I can do, but we’ll see. I hope it gets better for you ✌🏻
Same problem here. I assumed that was to do with the foveated rendering not being calibrated properly, but it seems fine in the setup. People keep saying to move your head rather than your eyes, which is unnatural and defeats the purpose of foveated rendering lol.
@@aenoofficial I mean you do both things at the same time. But you’re not supposed to have your eyes completely fixed and “locked” straight ahead and then just move your head in different directions…
I’ve experienced the same thing. Foveated rendering seems to only work with head movement towards the area and not eye movement only. It’s strange because a lot of ppl describe eye movement working. Linus on his latest Wan show describes this test he did where the person watching the TV was guessing where Linus was looking cause of foveated rendering. But the test would be moot if Linus was moving his whole head in that direction. Maybe we have defective units?
Recently bought psvr2 and I don’t regret it. Did all the setup and am fully emerged 2 to 5 hours a day 2 to 4 days a week. I almost wish it weren’t so good so I’d spend more time doing other things ,lol.
The band on the old headset sits much higher on the back of my head. So when I was using the new headset in the same way it hurt my nose, forehead and felt tight. It was also hard to find the sweet spot.
Positioning the band lower down on the back of my head made a massive difference. Way more comfortable and alot easier to find the sweet spot.
The more i use it the better i think the image quality is.
You adapt and you learn how to put on and wearing the headset.
Remeber that reprojection also can cause blurriness when moving. I think that can be different between games also.
Excellent breakdown... ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great Job Bryan!
Nice tips! I’d also watch out for dynamic res in addition to lod. Some games will lower resolution when a lot is on screen, I think I saw this in Star Wars totg. Turning towards a wall or smaller area might make it bump back up to full res so you can see if it is the game. Might be good to use a game without dynamic res if you’re trying to figure out the headset at first, if we can get a running list of those games. Also, some games run at lower fps which can look blurry in motion.
Village also does this with asset quality in the more open areas, even in flat screen.
Yep this is the big one for me, I've noticed walls and distant surfaces are terribly blurry and they give me eye strain, whilst characters or holdable objects are crystal clear.
Lowering brightness really helped me. I do hate how it takes me a bit to find the sweet spot, but it seems to be getting shorter.
Great video.thankyou
Great video!
Being a glass wearer I can say how important being up to date with prescription is.
I got 2 pairs and one got 0,25 difference on one eye (well obviously both), and I just like frame of my old one so I like play with it but it gives some blur on my left.
Using my new one with 0,25 degree more it’s sharp.
So just pointing out blur can be eye problems as text is quite sharp when it’s done right.
But this has been most overhyped tech beside yearly iPhones, sure I think it’s great but from reviews and previews vs reality, I’m not sure what people see that is such a leap as so many said.
Anyways, good video 👍
Exactly as you said. Even a small 0,25 on just one eye can make a difference. If we include astigmatism as well things get even deeper as it’s a huge game changer and how the light from the device gets perceived.
@@Lattri Got astigmatism as well but not so bad it interferes with VR so I guess it’s just degree of it, can’t remember mine.
But yes it’s identical glasses from same manufacturer so it’s purely the 0,25 that makes that difference but it’s ok, not worst blur and playable but if one eye looks blurry it’s common having a defect difference between the eyes.
So it’s more sensitive then PSVR 1 which would be no problem using either glasses.
@@TVNorway I wonder if contact lenses will be better than glasses in that manner ?
@@TVNorway also how much astigmatism have you got ? I got -0,5 and -0,75
@@Lattri I’m not sure but I see if I find my prescription card later.
Lenses for me would be a no go as I lose around 15% vision (astigmatism) but I don’t know my values there to say how it is in psvr2. (Was fine in first psvr but this is way more sensitive).
Nice video bud..thanks
Having headband in middle of head sweet spot everytime now😍😍
Awesome video. Smart dude
I just got my PSVR2 today and im blown away! But i have experienced some blurriness. I watched this video and realized that you mentioned having the lenses as close to your eyes as possible! That fixed it!
@@importon thank you!!!!
I find that actually going into a game and adjusting it there is the best way to get the clearest image possible and then tightening it to stay at that position. The headset tends to sag on my head a little so I have to put in a bit higher and when it finally rests on my head it’s at the right eye level. Turning down the brightness level (to 70%)also helped. The image quality really is spectacular when you have it configured perfectly.
💟
I haven't had any issues either. Everything has been easy and intuitive for me. BTW, I rebought Moss 2. Wow!
Nice video. Thanks 👍
If you want another tip for PSVR unrelated to display: Put a sponge between the back of your hand and the loop of the controller. Now you're all stuck in there snug and comfy and don't need to hold onto the controller at all times. Reduces strain a lot.
It's BY FAR the most comfortable "knuckles" controller out there with this simple 10 cent mod. Try it out. You can even use multiple sponges to really pack your hand in there in the position that makes the most sense for the sticks.
Dude that's a cool idea 💟
Great idea. I found myself often losing grip on the controllers (ie. due to my jaw being on the floor). That'll change as I get used to it obviously - but the sponge idea will definitely help in the meantime. Thanks!
Thank you bro.
I had issues on day 1 and 2 . Now ive found the spot ! .
I have no experience with Vr, but i have this niggling feeling that my image quality is too low. I have searched multiple videos/articles to help me fix this.... but this video kinda confirms it for me, it is mentioned that the dashboard on cars in GT7 should be crystal clear but they're not, they're still very blurry. Also I have followed instructions on how to minimize this as much as possible (understanding that you cant completely get rid of blur).
I wish I seen this sooner but I figured it out the second day I had it I’m a vr vet lol and I never get any repercussions when playing long periods but on day one I couldn’t play longer than 2 hours because I had really really bad eye strain and a pounding headache and come to find out on day 2 I messed with it a little and the headset wasn’t in the sweet spot for me even though my eyes were in the blue rings during the ipd test and my eye tracking was set right. So I figured out for me personally having the back ring tight to the almost middle of the back of my head was a lot better because the bottom of my neck is more sensitive to pressure headaches and it also helped the headset be parallel with my eye instead of at an angle because bringing it all the way down my neck made the screen/lenses almost stick out at a angle ( like this “/“ to my face instead of “l” to my face) which had warped the image and moved the sweet spot of the lenses causing bad eye strain and a headache and many times a not very sharp image in horizon and almost making me feel cross eyed when I’d look at things to far or to close but anyway sorry for the paragraph just was on my mind cause I was really worried on day one when that happened but after I figured that out horizon is wayyy more fun and such a damn beautiful game I can’t wait to get home and play for another 5 hours!!! Thanks as always for what you do Bryan you’re a huge help to me and my vr friends🫶😅
Great guide
I actually believe that going pancake lenses down the line will be the biggest jump in happy new-VR users. Finnicky sweetspots for people fighting against motion sickness and not being used to VR = a turn off for many.
No issues for me. If anything turning down the colour a bit made it even better. Proper eye tracking calibration is a must. For each person who uses it. I had a few mates over to check it out and one of them thought it was horrible until he went through the eye tracking calibration. He said it was night and day difference. Some games are worse than others though for example. GT7 and RE8 are crispy and beautiful resolution wise. No man’s Sky , while an improvement on PSVR1, the PSVR2 version is still pretty muddy, especially looking mid to far into the horizon. Horizon and kayak are also really nice to when you’re in that sweet spot. I have to agree that it is quite small though, that just a fact.
60 year old gamer here. I wear progressive lenses also. When I put the headset on I first adjust the vertical by looking at text. When I can see the text clearly the closer I am to the sweet spot. After maximum clarity is achieved I then tighten headband to a comfortable level. I will then move the the lenses closer to my face once the headset touches my frame I will back it off till it locks in place. You don’t want to move or push on your glasses as this will effect the sweet spot. Then if necessary I may adjust the ipd wheel ever so slightly. Taking the time effort to put the headset on correctly will make the experience so much better. If it gets slightly blurry over time the headset probably moved slightly on the vertical axis. Stop and adjust the vertical and your golden.😊
Thanks PanzerMagnet. Old gamer with progressives here too. When I noticed blur issues, I experimented with no glasses, reading glasses (I'm near sighted) and finally my progressives. My progressives were definitely better, but not perfect. I then read somewhere on Reddit that foveated rendering does not work with progressive lens. I will give your technique a try. If I am still not satisfied, I will either try getting single vision glasses (for my farsightedness) or give VR Wave a try (Rx lens made to fit the PSVR2 itself)
@@khc2384 Like you I am still experimenting. My progressives work fine better than no glasses, but I pulled out a pair of distant single vision (older weaker rx) and those work the best. So I have decided to order a pair of vr single vision lenses for the unit with my current rx. Figured it would be best for the protection of the unit and give me the absolute best experience.
If they work good I may order for my psvr1 and HTC Vive.
Thank you! I’ll definitely try some of these out. I’ve been playing with the headset on my nose. It has been slightly uncomfortable. 💀
This is a great video. Unfortunately I think I had a defected headset, so it’s been returned for a replacement. Fingers crossed🤞
I will try turning down the brightness next time i play RE8, that is where I have an issu🙂 Very good guide👍
Great advice
Thanks dude 💟
Awesome video, hon ❤️. Sadly, I find the Halo strap simply does not fit the shape of my head this time round (I had no problem with PSVR1) and the visor sits too low on my head, putting pressure on the bridge of my nose and missing the sweet spot by a few mm. Everything is just *very slightly* out of focus. I'm gonna have to find a solution somehow, even if it means physically modding the Halo Strap in some way.
On an unrelated note, it may interest some to know that I am currently typing this comment on my phone while wearing the PSVR2 headset in 'see-through' mode! It's that clear I can even read the tiny text! Nice!
For me the Screen of my mobile Phone looks very blurry in passthrough mode. :(
I cannot read anything on it.
@@Qwerty1987Ytrewqsame. I wonder if that means our headset is defective, or it’s normal?
@@xJay2002 No Idea. I managed to Kind of read domething on my Phone. But i practically held the Phone 2cm away from my psvr2 camera.
In Horizon call of the mountain its the same with the hands. I cannot geht them sharp. They are Always blurry no matter how offen I adjust the settings and the position of my Headset.
I really wonder if it is broken...
Another thing to keep in mind is that some people, whether they know it or not, have eyes that aren't perfectly horizontal to one another. You might want to try adjusting the headset to see if you can wear it a comfortable angle if things feel a little off.
I think the biggest issue here is people expecting vr to look like the image on a top 4k TV, which it absolutely does not. Part of the reason for the anger, imo, is that the trailers for many of the games give a bit of a false impression of what it will actually look like in the headset... I'm loving my psvr2 so far but the biggest disappointment for me has been kayak, which looks near photorealistic in the trailers but, in reality, anything in the distance (which is most of the game!) looks very blurry. The pool level looks good but I've been pretty disappointed with the rest of it tbh. Would love to know if people disagree with that, as might clue me into something I'm doing wrong!
Hey Tom! I'll definitely have to disagree with you on Kayak - to me, the whole game looks just as good in the headset as in the trailers... Anyone else wanna chime in on this?
@PSVR2 Without Parole thanks buddy, that's helpful as suggests I'm doing something wrong at my end. I'm finding that the kayak itself and water immediately surrounding me look great, but anything beyond that looks really low res. Not particularly noticing this in other games (beyond the quality drop off that you'd expect)
I have tried two psvr2 headsets and had a similar experience in both. Good, but definitely not crystal clear with a visible screen door effect act distant objects.
Excellent video, Bryan! I hadn’t considered adjusting the brightness and that’s probably a good plan regardless.
This video is a must watch for every owner. Sony should just put a link to this video when ppl unbox their psvr2. I cleaned the lens with a dry microfiber towel and it worked like a charm. And when you do play the game. You do move your head around quite a bit so after every little while you do have to recheck your pupils are in the right place. And readjust and retighten. But for the best vr experience for your buck, I’ll take it.
I feel like Bryan made this video for me, after I bitched about it on the live stream yesterday LOL. You're a champ mate, keep up the good work!
Thanks bro 😘👍🏻
Found the sweet spot for me i push tge back strap to bottom of my neck Hair line then tighten finally push the front up a bit so not sitting on my nose
It’s opposite for me, my sweet spot is with the back of the head strap up high, above parallel with the floor. If i go lower i get a blurry image, no matter how much I adjust the front end and ipd etc.
I noticed that the lenses misted up the first time I put it on. I cleaned it with my fingers and thought nothing of it. I realised last night that I should wipe the lenses and it was like someone gave me a pair of prescription glasses, I can see everything so much clearer.
I'd recommend cleaning your lenses even straight out of the box, they've likely been in cold places on the way to you and the warehouse they were in may have even been damp.
One thing I've yet to see people talking about is how well PSVR2 does for those of us who wear glasses. Like, is there worry about scratching the lenses, or is there enough of a safety ring around the lenses, or would "bumpers" be needed. Or is it possible to use it without glasses at all, etc. (last one I doubt, but one can dream).
Thank very much 👍👍👍
Thanks Bryan!
I wonder if a lot of people were just expecting an image as sharp as their 4K TV and VR tech just isn’t. It’s not that your PSVR2 is blurry, VR just has a slight blur / fuzz to the image anyway. And I agree with your point about the “sweet spot” being quite small.
Ehhh...the PSVR2 isn’t blurry, it just has a blur? 😂
I'm surprised by how many people don't have it sitting right on their head. I originally had issues until I realized that the back of the device with the dial needs to be sitting close to the bottom of the back of your head, then tightening somewhat so it's snug but not too snug. Once I did that BAM everything was clear. Documents in RE Village were super clear and readable and everything was nice and sharp.
I use the adjust visibility option basically every time I put my headset on initially and I never have problems with blurriness I think this is people's biggest issue The positioning of where the front band is on your head where the backband is having that screen at the right angle and having the lenses space properly is absolutely critical to having a clear picture
As always, you are doing god's work Bryan - or rather, Sony's - in 2 minutes you've probably helped 50% of all buyers literally sort their head out.
Its taken me a while too - and a realisation that to really see these small but critical differences between 'amazing' and 'unbelievable' I'm best wearing my glasses as opposed to my contact lenses - and I'm still getting the balance right to avoid squashing my forehead so much - but wow what a few days this has been. I'm just blown away, no other words for it - and I've only been playing GT7 and Horizon, with RE8 and my PSVR1 upgrades sat waiting patiently.
Thank you once again for looking after the community, can't wait to get my souped up Corvette ZR1 on the grid alongside you soon!!! #gamecatARMY
Very useful vid. I get that chromatic aberration so just need to play with how it fits then. Got-cha.
Did not have this issue with the Quest 2 at all so maybe my psvr2 is faulty?
The mura effect made me think there's no improvement over the PSVR 1 in terms of clarity at first. But then I noticed that I didn't notice any screen door effect. :P
If things up close are super blurry try focus your eyes far behind what you're looking at.
If things go clear it's not the headset, you just need time for your eyes to adjust.
People who use VR regularly forget that this is a thing but for new VR users your eyes are still changing focus depending on how much you cross your eyes. In VR headsets you need to focus on everything like it is 6 feet away.
superbe Video, Bryan. Aruuuuuuuuuuu!!
for me, wearing a baseball cap with the brill to the back does the trick for finding the right spot for the headband. without it I need to fiddle with the position a lot, especially because the headband moves after a while.
The most helpful for me was probably the double click on the PS icon to get faster into the menu, thanks!
I liked the ps vr 1 version way better than this one BUT I haven't tried all your hints yet so maybe, crossing my fingers, this will fix the blurry grainy look. Thanks for taking the time to make the video and sharing.
one thing. its easy to imagine that the image on the tv will look the same in the headset, but in VR , your eyes is so close to the screen so you see every pixel. try doing that close on your 4k tv, i can garantee that the image will look pixelated and not so great. and hype can realy trick you thinking it will look way better then reality.
Thank you.
I can’t say my hand in horizon looks “crystal clear” after following all of these directions but it certainly looks much better. I can read text just fine in cinema mode so maybe I’m “looking into” my horizon hands too much. Maybe I have a pronounced Mura effect im noticing also. I’m not quite sure and at this point horizon looks good enough for me to proceed with playing. Thanks Bryan!
Horizon is definitely the most finicky for me. I can eventually get the headset positioned just about right so that everything looks pretty clear but the hands NEVER, I can see they're packed with detail but they're never crystal clear and always look slightly out of focus.
It's almost like there's a slightly diffused 'film' over them.
The hands and guns in After the Fall look extremely clear though so it's definitely more of a 'Horizon issue' than it is a headset issue.
@@synthrogue6856 I know exactly what you’re talking about! They almost look a little fuzzy to me as well. I think there’s something to be said also about how “crystal clear” in vr will never be “retina level” clear. Even then though I don’t have after the fall to compare how clear you say those hands in that game are with Horizon. It could also be some weird depth of field thing in horizon. Who really knows.
Hands in Horizon are also blurry / soft focused for me - same thing with RE8 - really not sure if they should be sharp or not.
I was surprised to hear people saying the headset is blurry…no issues for me
For me it was simply performing the eye alignment procedure every time I use VR2. It only takes a few seconds and for me at least it makes the world of difference .
