By all means Samantha needs to see "Man on Fire" (directed by the late Tony Scott ... Ridley Scott's brother) and "Inside Man", directed by Spike Lee). Both are great movies. Another Tony Scott / Denzel Washington collaboration that was mentioned is "Deja Vu" (a bit of sci-fi) and well worth watching and very underrated. The most unusual Denzel Washington movie that was also mentioned is, "Fallen", which gets into the dark realm of the supernatural. I've never seen a movie quite like it. Totally unique.

Denzel is such a great actor with almost no bad films( I didn't care for Training Day but its still pretty good). A film I think is under rated but is so good with a cool concept, great cast and I think you will enjoy is Deja Vu from 2006.
The old series from the 80's with Edward Woodward was something the family and i used to watch together. These movies with Denzel are a solid adaptation even if they are more brutal for our desensitised 'modern' era.
Hot honey cauterizes the wound and when it cools leaves a film over the area. Honey has the added benefit that it is anti-bacterial so in theory it could stop the wound from infecting.
Just saw E3! It’s the best in the series! Great closer to a great series. Recommended Denzel films: - Training Day - Man On Fire - Malcolm X - American Gangster - Inside Man - Crimson Tide - Unstoppable - Hurricane - Book Of Eli - He got game -2 guns.
One look at the thumbnail reaction image and I knew what scene it was; man that barbwire setup was a slasher level kill This movie is like what if John Wick was Batman and Jason Voorhees
I loved the original tv series as a kid. This movie is how you do an adaptation of that tv series. I really recommend Man on Fire and Fallen -- both good Denzel movies. Book of Elie is also a must Denzel movie!
The synopsis of EQ1 was revealed too early in 2012. McCall's history was suppose to be kept a secret until the film. To differentiate from the McCall of the tv series. Even if it was spoiled, I did enjoy it.
Denzel must-see films... - Courage Under Fire (w Meg Ryan) - Crimson Tide (w Gene Hackman) - Remember The Titans (about high school football) - Training Day (w Ethan Hawke) - Man On Fire (she needs to see) - American Gangster (about real life Frank Lucas) - Flight (drama about the cost of alcoholism) Also, speaking of Gene Hackman, if you havent seen these... - The Quick And The Dead (w Sharon Stone) - Runaway Jury (w Dustin Hoffman and John Cusack) - The Firm (w Tom Cruise) - Unforgiven (w Clint Eastwood) - Behind Enemy Lines (w Owen Wilson) - Enemy Of The State (w Slappy McSlapperton) - The Chamber (w Chris O'Donnell)
On the two apartments - one tap vs two taps in the sink. Where he was treating his leg there was only one mixer tap, and the room they burst in to had two seperate.. :) Also I think you've done Hot Fuzz? The guy who played The Equalizer in original TV series was the same actor for Mr Tom Weaver (in the CCTV room at the police station) - Edward Woodward. :p
Fun movie. Based on the TV show "The Equalizer" (1985-1989). Great reaction as always. BTW, honey has anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Pine tar and some other natural ingredients can also used for wound care.

I have yet to watch the Equalizer series. So I must unfortunately refrain from watching your reaction as I do not much care for spoilers (regardless of how long the movie's been out). BUT... I look forward to watching y'alls reaction once I've seen it
bruh, Man on Fire is incredible!!! if Sam hasn't seen that one yet.... that needs to change!!! one of Denzel's best. the direction, casting, acting, cinematography. hell, even the music is great. without giving any plot points away, there's a quick camera shot of Denzel on a bridge towards the end of the movie. that shot with the solemn piano in the background... it's like a painting. Sam, girl. you gotta watch that one soon!!! a couple honorable mentions of his other films, if either of you haven't watched them yet, or anyone in the audience hasn't; Philadelphia, Training Day, Antwone Fisher, American Gangster, Flight, Fences... just to name a small handful of so many great performances of Denzel's
I found it interesting how Robert went to Susan, his old supervisor at the DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency), not only for intel on the bad guy, but also for 'permission'. On one level, perhaps it was a moral permission, as an old and trusted friend, _should_ he get involved with this lowlife, in killing him, and perhaps even his boss the Russian oligarch? And perhaps 'permission' in the sense of making sure he'll not be messing up any current ops or initiatives for DIA by doing so. Wouldn't do to have his old shop put out a hit on him, either by not knowing it's him and suspecting a new actor in the game, or perhaps knowing it's him and still taking him out because his actions are unauthorized. Susan's not warning him off gives him the green light to 'take out the trash'. Which he does. Effectively.
At the 19:40 mark, that scene in the diner using the book to break that enforcer's neck is cool. However you can not short out the power the way he stuck the knife into the electrical outlet.
Don't know if y'all caught this, but if you recall at the start, when they were trying to guess what Denzel's character used to do, he said he was a pip, then starts dancing. Now go to the climactic standoff, and when the music starts playing in the Home Mart, it is Gladys Knight and the Pips!
i remember when i first watched this movie, i knew denzel's character was going to be some dangerous and highly proficient person but that first scene where he kills slavi and his men completely shocked me. i remember being unprepared for the brutality and cold efficiency of the violence when seeing it. such a gratifying scene and it really establishes what the Equalizer is capable of for the rest of the movie.
Denzel Washington recommendations: The Pelican Brief Crimson Tide Virtuosity Courage Under Fire The Siege The Bone Collector John Q. Out of Time Inside Man Déjà Vu American Gangster The Taking of Pelham 123 The Book of Eli Unstoppable there are others but these are the ones that I've actually watched
Man on Fire (2004) is another Denzel film along the same lines as The Equalizer I think you'd enjoy. I also recommend American Gangster (2007), Flight (2012), Remember the Titans (2000), Crimson Tide (1995), Philadelphia (1993), Malcom X (1992) and Glory (1989).
You may want more wholesome and uplifting movies on your schedule when you have your baby and will be stressed & emotional. I suggest: Cocoon 1985 Win Win 2011 Overboard 1987 Weekend at Bernie's 1989 The Way Back 2010
I know people are talking about Denzel's big movies, but please don't miss out on some of his best older films like Fallen (1998), The Siege (1998) and Courage Under Fire (1996)
This series is based off an 80s TV show of the same name. Where each episode a retired secret operative (Robert McCall) helps people in need advertising his services in the newspaper, like we see Robert do at the end of this film.

Denzel is such a great actor with almost no bad films( I didn't care for Training Day but its still pretty good). A film I think is under rated but is so good with a cool concept, great cast and I think you will enjoy is Deja Vu from 2006.
Out of time; John Q; DeJavu; all exceptional!!
Samantha, you're looking positively radiant!!! Best wishes!!!💐 💐 💐
The old series from the 80's with Edward Woodward was something the family and i used to watch together. These movies with Denzel are a solid adaptation even if they are more brutal for our desensitised 'modern' era.
Also Director Antoine Fuqua’s Shooter, Tears of the Sun and Training Day
"Flight" is a good Denzel one. "Nobody" is amazing also.
Hot honey cauterizes the wound and when it cools leaves a film over the area. Honey has the added benefit that it is anti-bacterial so in theory it could stop the wound from infecting.
Just saw E3! It’s the best in the series! Great closer to a great series. Recommended Denzel films:
- Training Day
- Man On Fire
- Malcolm X
- American Gangster
- Inside Man
- Crimson Tide
- Unstoppable
- Hurricane
- Book Of Eli
- He got game
-2 guns.
"Deja Vu" is a really good sci-fi movie with Denzel. It's not mentioned all that often, but it's quite good.
One look at the thumbnail reaction image and I knew what scene it was; man that barbwire setup was a slasher level kill
This movie is like what if John Wick was Batman and Jason Voorhees
Another 1 worth checking out is Nobody with Bob Odenkirk, written by the writer of the John Wick.
I loved the original tv series as a kid. This movie is how you do an adaptation of that tv series. I really recommend Man on Fire and Fallen -- both good Denzel movies. Book of Elie is also a must Denzel movie!
Robert McCall was a former U.S. Marine Gunnery Sergeant and then Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) officer doing black ops.
The synopsis of EQ1 was revealed too early in 2012.
McCall's history was suppose to be kept a secret until the film.
To differentiate from the McCall of the tv series.
Even if it was spoiled, I did enjoy it.
This is the first movie series for Denzel.
His first reappearing character.
Denzel must-see films...
- Courage Under Fire (w Meg Ryan)
- Crimson Tide (w Gene Hackman)
- Remember The Titans (about high school football)
- Training Day (w Ethan Hawke)
- Man On Fire (she needs to see)
- American Gangster (about real life Frank Lucas)
- Flight (drama about the cost of alcoholism)
Also, speaking of Gene Hackman, if you havent seen these...
- The Quick And The Dead (w Sharon Stone)
- Runaway Jury (w Dustin Hoffman and John Cusack)
- The Firm (w Tom Cruise)
- Unforgiven (w Clint Eastwood)
- Behind Enemy Lines (w Owen Wilson)
- Enemy Of The State (w Slappy McSlapperton)
- The Chamber (w Chris O'Donnell)
Love this movie. Easily rewatchable
On the two apartments - one tap vs two taps in the sink. Where he was treating his leg there was only one mixer tap, and the room they burst in to had two seperate.. :)
Also I think you've done Hot Fuzz? The guy who played The Equalizer in original TV series was the same actor for Mr Tom Weaver (in the CCTV room at the police station) - Edward Woodward. :p
Fun movie. Based on the TV show "The Equalizer" (1985-1989). Great reaction as always. BTW, honey has anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Pine tar and some other natural ingredients can also used for wound care.
Fallen, Malcolm X, and Unstoppable are great Denzel movies
I feel like I've already seen you guys react to CRIMSON TIDE with Denzel and Gene Hackman...? If not, definitely check that one out + PHILADELPHIA with Tom Hanks, THE PELICAN BRIEF with Julia Roberts, AMERICAN GANGSTER with Russell Crowe, FALLEN and REMEMBER THE TITANS! 😁
Yes we did! Completely forgot to mention that one in the intro. Thanks for the recommendations!
Book of Eli for Denzel.
Yes yes yes! Love that movie
Hell yeah, this was a pleasant surprise to watch after work lol these are like some of my favorite movies! Definitely check out Training Day (2001) with Denzel, was also made by the same director, Antoine Fuqua.
I'm one of those goofballs who likes the old TV show more than the Denzel remakes...but I MUST watch this reaction because I love TBR Schmitt even more! 👍
American Gangster is my favorite Denzel movie. He's a powerhouse in it.
This movie has a great line that i still use when i try to get better at something big in my life. “Its about progress, not perfection.”
21:08 - Honey is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory and reduces swelling, making it an excellent wound dressing for cuts.
My father was a double amputee diabetic. Whenever he would get any new wounds, I would use this honest mixture to put on them. It works great
I have yet to watch the Equalizer series.
Brawl in Cell Block 99!!! Vince Vaughn!!!
A couple of great Denzel films would be The Taking of Pelham 123 (with John Travolta) and Unstoppable (with Chris Pine)
i remember when i first watched this movie, i knew denzel's character was going to be some dangerous and highly proficient person but that first scene where he kills slavi and his men completely shocked me. i remember being unprepared for the brutality and cold efficiency of the violence when seeing it. such a gratifying scene and it really establishes what the Equalizer is capable of for the rest of the movie.
25:15 "He probably needed a little bit of fresh air" lol that cracked me up
Denzel Washington recommendations:
The Pelican Brief
Crimson Tide
Virtuosity
Courage Under Fire
The Siege
The Bone Collector
John Q.
Out of Time
Inside Man
Déjà Vu
American Gangster
The Taking of Pelham 123
The Book of Eli
Unstoppable
there are others but these are the ones that I've actually watched
Man on Fire (2004) is another Denzel film along the same lines as The Equalizer I think you'd enjoy. I also recommend American Gangster (2007), Flight (2012), Remember the Titans (2000), Crimson Tide (1995), Philadelphia (1993), Malcom X (1992) and Glory (1989).
any denzel movie is awesome. remember the titans is completely different than this but i love that one haha.
There was a TV series of the equalizer in the 1980's also another good one is "law abiding citizen "
You may want more wholesome and uplifting movies on your schedule when you have your baby and will be stressed & emotional. I suggest:
Cocoon 1985
Win Win 2011
Overboard 1987
Weekend at Bernie's 1989
The Way Back 2010
Great job making ASSumptions. For some people movies like this are stress relievers.
@@Necrowolf81 Wow, you sure took that personally
I know people are talking about Denzel's big movies, but please don't miss out on some of his best older films like Fallen (1998), The Siege (1998) and Courage Under Fire (1996)
This series is based off an 80s TV show of the same name. Where each episode a retired secret operative (Robert McCall) helps people in need advertising his services in the newspaper, like we see Robert do at the end of this film.
