Lenny, you're the best. I've bought several parts from GS for my Glock. And installed them without trouble. I have small hand and so need to install this, too. With apologies I suggest that sometimes you have a closeup drawing of these parts when it's hard to see inside, like today. When you showed the spring inside prior to removing, I couldn't see it. I was looking for a coiled spring. Of course it's more like a rod or needle. Thanks for supplying us with so many fine products.
Thanks GS for all your info and parts over the years. There is no better gun videos than this guy. Everyone that gets a glock should be told to watch Lenny nobody can compare. He dont act like hes better and he explains throughly.
Yeah, the part he doesn't tell you is that the metal mag release button chews up the polymer edges of the mag. So if you want to replace mags at $30 each, have at it! Caveat emptor...
If you want an extended mag release, I run the Vickers tacticals - they’re great (and polymer) Btw, you have to run a metal mag release only in the 43x or 48 and only when youre running Shield Arms S15 mags, which are metal as well Metal on metal, polymer on polymer Good luck
Years back I installed a extended mag catch and slide stop/release, but just bought stock ones and put them back in. Everything is the way it is on Glocks for a reason, whether to not snag, not have your mag fall out on the floor unexpectedly in front of people, not have your trigger spring snap...
I got mine at the Glock store said it fit gen 4&5 but I had to modify mine it was digging into the side of the magazine so I took a dremel and re-engineered the release. Works fine now
For the time being, I live In California so we are unable to buy the Glock 45. A federal Judge ruled that California's gun list is unconstitutional. Hopefully, the appeals court strikes the law down as well. But getting ready to purchase a Glock 19 Gen 3, since it is the most current one on the list. I appreciate the videos and the way you deliver the instruction on how to handle and breakdown the Glocks.
Get yourself a Glock 43X MOS...tough not to like that pistol as a total sweet spot for small size, good grip and great capacity with a Shield 15 rd magazine. I've been seeing them around for under $400 lately here in TX.
I just wanted to post a thank you for posting these videos. I have never replaced a slide stop or a trigger but having watched a few of your videos I would have no qualms about doing it. The videos are extremely clear instructions. I find the mag release ok on the Gen 4 Glocks which is what I own but thats not to say it could not be improved on. I may try one of these to see whether I like them.
After your install how did the Glock 43x mags work. I just bought my 43x and will be putting in the GS mag release, hoping both the Glock mags and my new gen 3 Shield Arms mags work. Thanks
Some Glock parts do not need replaced. A few like sights, slide stops, guide rods, magazine releases are +. Barrels, triggers, plunger safety, back plates? 🤷🏻♂️
He advertisers the extended slide releases for all Glocks I ordered six months ago extended Slide release for a Glock 22 GEN five and I’m still waiting six months later
I love the way this looks but personally I still feel hesitant to take my carry firearm away from factory parts/reliability. I would however try this on one of my range Glocks.
There are after market parts worth buying for top performance. I used to include new Tango Down Inc slide stops: gen 4, gen 5 models but I've seen no real +s from doing it, 2020s. The Glock Store slide lock is worth the $$$. It allows quick, smooth field disassembly. ✔️ Steel U type night sights: Trijicon HDs or HD xrs, are well made. I like orange colors. Stainless or tungsten type guide rods are good too but not critical. I had several Glocks in the past & 2020s with Double Diamond NP3 3.5lb trigger connector but that's not vital for regular use, duty uses.
I can get Blue Label Glocks; 🎗🚑🚒🚓👨🏼⚖️. I'm looking to get a new Glock 45 MOS 9mm or the thin, smaller 43X MOS. Both Glocks 9mm are worth a serious look. I also saw a NIB Glock 31 .357sig gen 4 model. 3 15rd mags. I already have .40 to 9x19mm barrels, .40S&W 22/31 series barrels.

I bought the red extended mag release and now my glocks are unusable because now my mag won't stay in my guns. They just come out and won't lock in. I missed placed the original ones.
i own a glock 19 gen 5 fs but if glocks motto is perfection, why should i upgrade mine? isnt it perfect already? i know mods are cool, but it seems though that all that parts are for performance upgrade?
Ha just in time. Got a good deal on one of these from a friend for my first handgun. Gonna shoot it stock first just to see if I like it than I also want to do some upgrades over time.
Thanks to Lenny I bought a P365 - just the standard one- but also… I sold my soul for MW2- considering I was 80 cents short and had to go back to the store because I always use Microsoft money but now it doesn’t cost less than $100 anymore… Who’s excited for Modern Warfare 2
They need to restock on everything Gen 5. Every time I go to the store they never have anything in stock for Gen 5 and it’s always too late to call the warehouse In California.
I bought a silver mag release last year , the sides are too sharp and i had to file all around it till it comfortable . Its better than the plastic mag release .
I bought a Glock 17 Gen5 a couple of months ago. I am getting used to the trigger, but the one thing I need to change is the rear sight. It is way too wide in the notch so the sight is not easy to align. The notch needs to be about 1/3rd less width for me. So I need to find a better rear sight. Does Glock make one with a narrower notch?
If your ever in a situation where you have to make a tactical mag change on a firearm that has a 15 + round capacity, as a civilian you have made some very bad choices. Just say'n.
If you’re new to glocks or even if you’ve always had glocks, just leave the damn trigger ALONE. Save yourself the pain and just run the stock trigger, it’s literally fine. You’ll literally be FINE.
*P80 fan* Just as hard to conceal as a G17 with the full size grip but less reliable. The only other Glock I like is the G26 as it is small enough for many jacket/vest pockets but can use all the G19/G17 mags and the NY1 and NY2 triggers. The G19 is a poor compromise between a G17 and G26 as it is simply a less reliable chopped G17 that does not have a recontoured backstrap like the G26 does has so many people feel like their shooting hand will slip off the grip. All the current G17 models are shit as they deleted the finger cutout on the front bottom of the grip so it is much harder to get the mag out if you get a double-feed stoppage... all too save a few pennies... but fortunately the P80 from Lipsey's still has the cutout and does not have finger grooves, a rail or an RDS mount, so is essentially a Gen1 G17 and all the better for it IMO.
Red & black. Years ago I wouldn't let anyone in my family wear that combination because if you look at Fidel Castro's flag, red and black are its colors. Look up 26 of July flag.

Yeah the mag release will last longer now but unfortunately your magazines won’t because you made the mag release metal which will damage magazines much faster than a plastic one. Metal on plastic is never a good idea. That’s why the shield arms 15 round metal magazines were damaging plastic mag releases rendering guns useless unless you have a spare mag release. No thanks.

Yeah, the part he doesn't tell you is that the metal mag release button chews up the polymer edges of the mag. So if you want to replace mags at $30 each, have at it! Caveat emptor...
Thiiiiiiiis. I just found this out the hard way. Factory mag release is going back in and and now I gotta buy some more factory mags.
If you want an extended mag release, I run the Vickers tacticals - they’re great (and polymer)
Btw, you have to run a metal mag release only in the 43x or 48 and only when youre running Shield Arms S15 mags, which are metal as well

whats the reason behind the awful trigger that has way too much uptake and overtravel?
Love all these videos you’re putting out. Been upgrading my 43x MOS

Xs Big Dots are the best for fast sight picture shooting. Put the dot on the post, doesn't get any more simple than that.
Excellent explanation, the only thing that was not seen was the part where the spring goes, but the rest was excellent.
I swapped the mag catch to accommodate shield arms mag in my G43x. Worth every penny.
After your install how did the Glock 43x mags work. I just bought my 43x and will be putting in the GS mag release, hoping both the Glock mags and my new gen 3 Shield Arms mags work. Thanks
I thought Glocks were "perfection" 🤣 all I hear is change this gotta change that it never ends 🤣🤣🤣
You don’t gotta change anything, oem is great. But what I love most about glocks is the modulability
It is perfect....you can just make it more "perfecter" and spend any extra useless money you don't need.
Some Glock parts do not need replaced. A few like sights, slide stops, guide rods, magazine releases are +. Barrels, triggers, plunger safety, back plates? 🤷🏻♂️
Exactly for 500 600 dollars I shouldn't have to change nothing and it should come with a metal guide rod too 🤣🤣
Glock is the only manufacturer that has enough mod support, that you can actually achieve perfection for you.
Very good firearm instructor.

Good job Lenny
Thanks Mr Lenny, I appreciate you!!!!!
Wont the metal extended mag release button erode the polymer magazines faster over time?
It will. You should grab a few shield arms mags instead of glock or magpul if you can find some.
Shield Arms makes a metal release and 15 round mag I used on a 43x.
Was considering it. But what about the were on the poly- magazine with a metal mag- release button?
I love the way this looks but personally I still feel hesitant to take my carry firearm away from factory parts/reliability. I would however try this on one of my range Glocks.

Very true, in the Army we didn't droped any mag, never.

It is actually required to dry fire glocks to field strip them for cleaning. So it's fine for glocks
