This is consider rhythmic gymnastic in japan for the male but for females it's the same , this is harder then wrg because mrg showcase precision and strength , it would be impossible for male to be super flexible because they aren't born like that . Wrg might showcase precision as well but showing precision using tumbling is pretty fair for male in exchange of lack of flexibility because very flexible men is 1 in a million and I hope this would be a sport in the olympic

These athletes train for SO many years to perform at these elite levels, and it's tragic to me that the world doesn't know about their talent. Ibara gymnasts in particular are INSANELY flexible; I just talked to two former Ibara HS gymnasts who now perform with Kokushikan RG team and had the chance to see them pull off some IMPRESSIVE moves :-)

Watching Tumbling is exactly why I searched for this. I loved the series. The stag pose is awesome! Tumbling (drama) is also why I want to try omurice when I go to Japan.
As amazing as it is it should not be called Rhythmic Gymnastics more like group artistic gymnastics because in rhythmic there is no backflipping and aerials and it all about the dance, ballet and flexibility
If I'm not wrong, it's called "new gymnastics" (新体操) in Japan. Maybe because it was established relatively new around 70 years ago. I don't really know why it was translated to to rhythmic gymnastics overseas.
It's mainly because of the same reason Base- and Softball aren't part of the Olympics anymore: too few people in too few countries do the sport on a (semi-) professional level. It's not because these guys aren't good or anything.

Men's Rhythmic Gymnastics has been a sport here in Japan for nearly 70 years. Trust me, it was around LONG before Tumbling. I'm friends with several high school and elite university MRG athletes here in Japan and am covering the sport for several English-language newspapers, and believe me, they spend HOURS every day training (especially the individual gymnasts). After graduation, some gymnasts go "pro" by joining Cirque du Soleil, who has added synchro tumbling to several shows and Cirque now recruits men's rhythmic gymnasts directly from Japan.

That's the whole purpose of floor routines. If they didn't dance on a floor routine it would be artistic gymnastics.

This is not rhythmic gymnastics ; it is a gymnastic floor routine ; simply remove the word rhythm.
