Maurice Ravel did something very unique to a Spanish traditional style of dance called specificaly, "Boléro". His orchestral composition of Boléro made him and his piece famous. This exquisite piece of moving music was used in the movie '10'. And then I stumble upon this video of this dance performance that takes Ravel's music composition to a new leval of exquisite. Simply complex, complexly simple. Otherwise I am speachless. The choregrahpy and the excecution is beyound '10'.
I realized that as the ballet progressed the choreography & the dancers grew more & more in sync with the music, until finally it was absolutely three in one!
There are no adequate words to amply complement these two phenomenal dancers! The power, the stamina, the grace...I don't think I took a normal breath for 16 minutes. Sensually hypnotic perfection! Bravo!

Dance like life is all feeling and expression, soul and heart and body free and independent of mind and judgment and second thoughts. Amazing!.
Precisely, bull fighting and tango share an encounter in which passions and skills are in competition, attraction and mistrust, passion and fear, all together, sometimes at once. Ravel's mother had catalonian ancestry, so he was familiar with the bull fighting culture, with that attraction to fear, to the unknown powers of other beings, other natural forces, of which women are part from the male gaze perspective!

I've never been into ballet this much, but man this was grandios! It's just so playful; nearly every step, every single movement they did was in sync with the music. I know that's kind of aspected but I see it so often, that people force their dance figures onto the "wrong" places in the song, they jump right before the accentuated note or are too slow when the music gets into gears and so on and so forth. These are things that personally often throw me out of the experience. Unlike here: They really managed to indeed visualise the music. Even their moves got bigger and bigger _with_ the Bolero's build up, saving that piggyback-thingy until the very end. That's so awesome and the exact shit I personally want to see in a dance, so thanks a lot for uploading this beautiful performance.
Bolero has always been one favorite songs. Was very impressed with the choreography and hard work that these two dancers put into mastering it. This is going to be one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing it ! :-)

The same with actors and actresses; it is very, very rare that the whole appearance of the body goes with the unbelievable beauty of the face, especially in the movie scenes when showing them in full view while running erratically... What I witnessed in watching these two unbelievably beautiful and talented young people dance was something extremely unusual, emotional, and pleasurable. They are simply the perfect specimens of their art in each and every way. I cannot thank them enough for the experience of the 16-minute taste of heaven on earth...

Have to say I don't consider this performance anything but classical....which is probably why you hesitate to appreciate it's content.
It is combination of classical ballet and rhythmic gymnastics rather than modern dance.

Just amazing, paced like great opera singers do, sustaining an incredible level of athleticism and grace throughout the performance and having the power to carry through to a convincing crescendo as demanded by the music, and then BOWING without collapsing in a soggy heap. They must be glad to have a recording of this....
