Awesome! I'm not an expert in disassembling electronics but it looks pretty simple. Unfortunately spray paint is illegal to sell in my city so once I figure out that, I'm going to try this on mine!
yea, it's not hard at all, and you can always refer to the video, just be careful of touching any of the sensors inside. crazy that spray paint is illegal, maybe you could try hobby paint? i dunno
I'd never do this to a bit of gear.. Except the MS. I'm doing it. I've got one of the overlays for the labels. I mod a lot of my gear (usually for practical reasons), but haven't done anything visual like this. It looks bloody great. Are you glad you did it? Thanks for sharing.
haha yea, i feel like it made me enjoy playing the MS more than when it was just so...sterile looking. what kind of mods do you usually do? like adding functions to things? i really want to try and design a synth some day. big goals
@@mr.apartment alright, I'm doing it. I wish you could post photos in UA-cam comments. Um, I'll sometimes mount a switch it parallel with the hold pedal socket (instant drone), or put a pot across the aftertouch sensor, so I can control that parameter with a knob. MIDI out kill switch is another.. Yeah, building a synth could be a lot of fun. I had that desire when I was young, and had a book called 'Build A Music Synthesizer'. With stuff that's kinda open source like the organelle, I'm more excited by creating patches than building the hardware, now, I think. Where are you based, man?
Yeah I just realized recently that silly as it is, I'd probably use my m:s more if it were black like the rest of my synths. It's just the coolest color. Even with an overlay that I like, it's still sort of ugly.
wow

@@mr.apartment yeah for sure. I've done a few projects with label maker tape ha.
My Apc40 was full of em for a while.
I love it !!!
@@LORANBELTRAM i love your love
Love it. People pay so ugh extra to have distressed guitars and you did it to the Elektron. Nice!
thanks :) i was hoping it would influence the music i was making on it too haha. not sure it had an effect honestly
Well thought out design... Congrats !!
thanks :) it was partially because i knew i would screw it up at some point, so why not just make it look screwed up overall haha
