Excellent jam, good sound, the atmosphere this little machine creates is awesome and very inspiring for my own dark ambient work. I like the design of this stuff too. Cool off-beat impro.
yea you really can do a ton, but it’s def different than the typhoon. they both shine in their own way, but if i could only have one, the nyx would def be it.
thanks :) in this video specifically i am just using drone mode and the onboard reverb with some patching in the patch bay. drone mode allows you to control the pitch with the glide sliders and the AMP section controls the envelope for the oscillators. i've had the synth about a month or so and absolutely love it. dreadbox does things a lot differently than most companies and it def jives with me. there are some videos by a couple youtubers, prock gnosis and automatic gainsay that go really deep into what this synth is capable of. it's a really solid synth and i figure i'll end up buying more gear from them in the future. thanks for the sub :) i'm sure i'll eventually make a video explaining some patching and playing techniques
being an inspiration will always be the biggest compliment i can receive so thank you so much :) short answer is i don’t have anything recent. long answer i just started with electronic music a couple years ago and it’s been mostly exploration trying to find a sound that resonates with me. if you’re interested in some older things i did with a good friend of mine you can youtube search psp - viddywell or psp - aunt heather . we also had an IG account psp_music . recently i’ve really started to find a setups that have me excited to try and make a second account just for music and video and hopefully an album sometime this year. thanks so much for being interested and watching.
@@mr.apartment that's very relatable- i've been into weirdo/electronic music for half my life but was also poor for most of that time. just now buying a few odds and ends to start working on new things. anyway, much as i love glacial drone stuff, its cool to see someone really push their synths around without fear; none of the pussyfooting that makes so many modular videos cringy. also tired of succulents, scenic views, etc looking forward to more experiments/music/whatever! oh, really liked 'viddywell' as well
@@nicklbmack thanks man! i couldn’t agree more. i hate to judge anyone and their personal journey of expression, but i also get tired of the same played out themes. especially spending more time on the aesthetics of the “jam scene” then the exploration of a musical scene. i appreciate the compliments. knowing there’s an audience of like minded people keeps me motivated to keep making these videos.
never heard of it, but i will def check it out now :) feel free to suggest any other music you may think is worth a listen, always on the search for something inspiring
I think you like the group "coil" the founding members are not alive anymore, but they're formed out of the ashes of "throbbing Gristle" and "psychic TV"
@@maxmatson1578 so many things to look up! thanks so much :) a good friend of mine showed me No Era Solida by Lucrecia Dalt which is a very beautiful album if you’re interested, i’m also a huge fan of Under Byen - Samme Stof Som Stof
Luv ur stuff! Hey can you do me a favor and try putting the reverb mix up about 50% or more with no other sounds being triggered or droned. When i do this i just get this annoying white noise sound that I have no idea if or why it’s there. With all setting set to produce no sound there shouldn’t be any sound at all, correct? Any help is appreciated. Thx

thanks so much! exploring the patch bay on here is key for sure :)
Sounds like a great synth for going proper wild with. I love my Typhon so this is very tempting too.

Inspiring af! 🖤
my favorite kind of inspiration :)
Awesome textures! How do you like the nyx? Are you using a sequencer? Effects?

The music I'm hearing here does me real "coil-switches" from the Autumn Equinox ep Vibes?👍
