I thank God for this channel. Someone close to me serving time for an offense and is registered. We are scared. We are so very tired. Thank you for your content NARSOL.
You are welcome. We aim to be a resource for people affected by the registry. If you haven't yet done so, check out our website. Our social media site, Connections, is for registrants and family and friends of anyone affected by the registry.
I'm a sex offender fresh out of Jail, living in Oklahoma, I never even hurt no one I signed a plea deal and now I feel like I ruined my life, Oklahoma's registry is tough, 2000ft to live from schools, parks, daycares ext it's tough, living on the outside in the country in a tent trying to live is no easy
We are sorry to hear that. Some states have more challenging restrictions. If you want to investigate moving to a different state while on probation or parole, you need to look into "interstate transfers." Consider changing how you view yourself. We prefer to use the term registrant. Consider joining Connections through our NARSOL to find some support. Also, see if you can find a nearby Fearless group.
@@NARSOL Thank you so much right now is hard for me, 😭 truly I tell you, it hurts me that people can falsely accuse you of being a predator, I was 24 when I was arrested they said I abused a child at 18 that child hated me, the mother hated me since I was 12, I never spent time around this so called victim and now I have to be treated like a monster, Thank you for the suggestions it's hard .... I've been praying to the good Lord hoping for guidance. He is guiding thank you.
Suffer regularly from yelling and threats coming from psycho registration officer who is also a sheriff. Contacted an attorney, documented many instances over the years, and the attorney only told the officer, and I was retaliated against. Now I have had to quit my job, and I'm trying to sell my home, and move out of the United States. This is a bad country.
@@NARSOL yeah, people are sorry. In the meantime, my constitutional rights are being stomped on routinely. If he wasn't a sheriff, then he would just be another psycho slob. But because I can be arrested for numerous trivial things on the registry (you probably know them as well as I, so I won't list them), charged with a felony, incarcerated for a year, followed by six months of sex classes and probation, he becomes a very dangerous psycho slob. How can this continue in the United States of America? But it does continue, it has continued for multiple years. Full of judgment and condemnation, full of unjust persecution, this is no longer a good country to be in.
@@NARSOL I'll vent some more....and if someone thinks this sheriff's psycho behavior is justified, my charges dates back to 1982. (He abuses all 250 underneath his authority, anyway.) Then you might think in 82, what I did was so horrible. Well no, I was not convicted until 1999. A twenty-six-year-old woman came in from another state and filed charges on me in 1996. It was all so bizarre, a charge coming out from nowhere. And, I have proof that I wasn't in that state in 1982, so it was impossible for me to have committed a crime then. None of that mattered. So now it is totally justified of me to say the court and justice systems in the United States are totally off the rails, and do not even reflect a smidgen of justice.
One's experience with probation or parole officers is completely dependent on the officer in charge. Some are supportive and want to see an individual be successful, but the goal of other probation officers is to make life difficult. It is unfortunate.
Thank you for your story and your bravery to live the best life possible within the confines of the registry and it's restrictions. I have very little hope of ever connecting meaningfully and living peacefully ever again. The weight of being on the registry is too much for me sometimes and God is the only reason I keep breathing some days; I know that sounds pitiful and desperate, and maybe it is. But I really don't know how to find fullfillment and peace under this. Your story shows there is a way.
I know what you mean it doesn't sound pitiful. It sounds like the truth because I live in the same way. I'm on the registry and have to pay for lie detector test.300dollars Evaluations. 300dollars. Have to pay parole. Can't go any where to get a job Noone will hire me. So what am I suppose to do. I thank God for people standing up and fighting this . I'm with all of you . May God bless you all and abolish this registry
I am proud of you. Humans are brutal and extremely unforgiving. Don’t beat yourself up at all. My mom taught me that every human being has a “Ghost in the Closet”. Every single human being, including myself, has sinned. Stay strong, okay?
Thanks for sharing your story we live in such a broken country!!! The registry causes family separation and fear. I admire you have a good home to stay.
Hi from France. Registry needs to stop. Without family or a community, this is a social murder. Exactly like a social credit system but more hypocritical. Take care.
@@NARSOL there s no registry. Offenders names are hidden. Sometimes , during the sentencing you have initials of the person and not their names. Its made to avoid vendetta.Offenders have mandatory therapy, if the crime involved kids you can't work with them, you can't live near a school. Some activities in clubs are prohibited if there are minors. But they re not shamed in public like in Texas for example. My husband had child pornography and was taking pictures of kids. He s not allowed to see them. I absolutely understand. I know he is sick and needs help. I dont want him to kill himself. He hasnt been sentenced yet, im ultra scared if he s going back to jail. The level of violence is insane. Some guards are like passive killers too. But he can works and rents an apartment in a normal way. Guns are prohibited too in France if you have been convicted of something. In prison you can also work and study. I can only talk about the prison of Grasse in France. Some prisons are a total disgrace.
Thank you for your information. We agree that names should be hidden from the public. If there are going to be restrictions, they should be related to the offenses. Prison experiences also vary in the states.
Man can temporarily judge but Christ is the final judge on each and every soul to have walked the face of this earth. I remember as a child reading the book "The scarlet letter" that book shaped my opinion now on how there is no redemption with the registry. Even after prison and punishment. If you cannot forgive, then how can Christ forgive you when you stand before him in judgement. If someone deserves 100 years, give them that. But not this registry.
The biggest problem is that people just don't understand that those who commit such offenses often have deep remorse for the act, not for getting caught. Here in Washington, they push "being normal" on said offenders, but when they get out, they are anything but. When someone has worked on themselves and want to be part of society and try to make amends, why does anyone think it's okay to stop that? How does that help the victims? I highly endorse the Bridges to Life program, for anyone who doesn't understand how keeping offenders down actually negatively impacts victims. There is a lot that most people just don't understand about things like this. And you won't until you or a loved one experiences it. Also, in today's world, since nobody has the neighborly thing, felons all do. They will watch your place for you. They will look out for neighbors one, because they don't want to have issues themselves, and 2, because they know it's the right thing. There's this false idea that it's not where you come from, but where you are going. That only applies to people who don't get caught. If you get caught for anything, it feels like you are forever branded as not part of society. And love? If you're an SO it's basically over. Leading research from Canada (where the most current research on SOs is occurring) shows the registry has detrimental effects not just for the individual on it, but also the victim and the community. Much the same way that prolonged supervision increases the risk of recidivism. The habitation restrictions, the relationship restrictions, it's all proving out to be detrimental for everyone, according to research. Plus the real big thing isn't that it's the people outside the home doing it, numbers show its people inside the home. And don't forget, there have been sentence reforms in many states that reclassified what used to be much less serious offenses into much more aggravated ones. So things that used to be kinda morally grey like statutory r are now full blown r even if the accused wasn't the aggressor. Plus there's that part too... probably 25% of those Convicted were wrongfully so or illegally so. I know one person for a fact who was illegally Convicted via entrapment (long story but there were family members who vouched for ages and a fake id) but since he took a deal he can't fight it normally. He lost his son over it. At 19, he will be on the registry for life and on probation for life. The laws are flawed on many levels and need to be fixed. If America would stop using research from 40 years ago, these things would change. Also, if they would stop sensationalizing every so it would help remove the stigma association with the past. Let people move on - not doing do hinders the healing of everyone.
Excellent response and analysis. Thank you for your input. Our mission is to fix these flawed laws. We also agree that the continued shaming hurts the community and contributes to the moral panic that has griped our country.
@@NARSOL convicted in 2014 at the age of 25. I went in and educated myself, got into spirituality, and did a ton for myself, but sadly I feel like it was for nothing
I can totally relate, I have to deal with this for 25 years for a misdemeanor offense relating to an adult. It's a social stigma, and anyone I meet, i can't seem to keep as a friend. It is a social pressure, a constant fear that someone will eventually find out and will reject me based on my past. We are automatically grouped into a caste, the lowest rung on the social ladder. I can't tell you how many relationships I have lost due to this...I accept it, but it is difficult
@@madonnahagedorn5649 yeah, of course it will keep me from having sex before marriage for sure and from having a woman soak my hand then act like a victim after she's done and needs an excuse before her fiance as to why she let it happen in the first place ... At least she doesn't have to worry about owning up to her part of it, of course that's what abortion and everything else in this country teaches women these days, but they don't have to be responsible for anything as long as they play the victim
@NARSOL you have all my support. I am on the registry by being tricked into taking a plea that said nothing about the sexoffender registry. Went to prison 4 years later because of a collateral consequence I had to register. That was 2009. Since I have had bouts with alcohol and drugs and been incarcerated several more times upon my release the last time they put me on level 3 sexually dangerous predator because of an addiction . I want to get this story out there
@@WilliamBarrsI know how you feel. Even as a juvenile, in my state. Even as a juvenile you only have 30 days to repeal or they lock you into your conviction forever. Even with the victim professing innocence.
Thinking of moving from Florida to Houston not sure if it's worth it ! I also was removed from the registry in New Jersey for 12 yrs to be plased back on it days ago, curious would texas be a little less stressful?
We avoid commenting on how "difficult" a state is, but we do provide information on each state so an individual can compare requirements of each state: statewiki.narsol.org/doku.php

My charge was in 1979 5 year sentence. It has expired.I am told that since I came back in the system I had to go to these programs and pay after I have done 33years for Robbery. All my restrictions has to do when I was 17years old.I am 62 years old.I am being resentenced. The registration law was passed in 2005.How is it retroactive to 1970 for sentences that has been expired?
A first step is rational laws based on science, not fear. If that were the case, it would be either abolished or what remains be based on science as well.
matts could you tell me if NARSOL has seen my system. and if they have what is there opinion of it? because i only started it about 15weeks ago and as soon as it reached 500 (on saturday) it seems to have started moving (its only wednesday dinner time - i'm at 681)
the laws do vary from country to country and the rules in the states are somewhat stricter than ours, but here once a year i have to sign with the cops or i'm inside and I'm not allowed abroad etc and its just as hard for me to get a job.
You are not allowed abroad? Even to the Schengen states? Or is that a specific condition of your sentence? A few states have minimum restrictions, but others have quite draconian restrictions.
Wow. Americans on the registry are allowed to leave the country. However, they are turned around in many countries. Australia is one of those countries. The rules are based on whether an individual is still on community supervision (parole or probation).
my petition is called: reforming the sex laws for a more efficient system - i have put those words into my computer page - but cant find it. the only way i can find it is to go right to the start of google, and put the same request in there, --- i dont know why.
Incest is a terrible crime, but as you suggested, you have no idea whether this individual committed such action. If you believe that a person should be punished for life, then perhaps you should suggest to your legislators the laws be changed so that only those who have committed those kind of serious crimes be on a registry because that is currently not the case.
meeting other advocates is not so easy to do, because 1 thing you do is keep the fact that your a sex offender quiet from as many people as possible, (so how do i know who i'm looking for?)
Advocates are typically individuals impacted by having someone on the registry. This is especially true if the individual on the registry is/was young when they committed the offense and the response is completely irrational to the behavior.
What jobs can someone in the sex offendor in the registry do? Having a felony makes it extremely difficult to get a job, on top of that being in the sex offenders registry makes it ever harder. So I'm just wondering what jobs can a sex offender in the registry do?
It depends on many situations. Some registrants create their own businesses, a registrant who has skills in a high-demand industry can often find a job, and some work in lower-paying jobs less likely to do background checks. It is difficult but not impossible.
@@NARSOL to start their business I'm sure they need business license, sellers permit, reseller permit, EIN, tax ID and maybe some other documents. Do they have a hard time getting any of those documents as they are registered?
@@woodpecant6992 those kind of documents are the same difficulty for everyone. Cities don't much care about who runs a business, as long as it's done correctly. The catch is if you need financial backing... dealing directly with individuals is different. Way different.
this is something i would love to do, but although i have authority over what subject my petition runs on, in what manner i personally desire. where it runs to be signed on, is some thing i have no authority over as my petition is owned by someone else's company. (the company is - change)a company solely for owning and running petitions eg.and if they choose to run there company in g mail i have no say
We fired our contractor whose EIN did not come up as a match for his name. More looking, it came up that he is a sex offender who violated parole in 2019. I don't like being duped by anyone. We already gave him about 6,000 dollars to do some work. We thought he was an honest person. Not so much. His work skills did not measure up to the amount of money we were paying him either. Lesson learned, do the research first.
i know exactly what you are talking about i am in the same position, but in the U.K. I have just started a worldwide petition saying that something should be done about reforming the sex registeration laws throughout the world and i would be most gratefull for as many people to sign as possible (please see under: reforming sex registration - change)
Those laws vary from country to country and state to state (in the United States). Although no registry would be preferable, few countries have public registries. Would you like the U.K. have those? Our point is that you have some idea of how you want them reformed.
dont you think it would be better (and cheaper) if we were to use our rehab systems or jails as reqd according to the crime? and does nearly everybody have to get a 10yr (in your case life) sentence as a sex offender from perhaps a lie a teenage girl said about her age.
We agree. The current system is not rational. Having said that, our focus in reforming the registry. We don't have the resources to respond to individual situations.
While we don't comment directly on which states have harsher restrictions, many southern states put more restrictions on registrants. Not allowing an individual to learn a trade so they can be a productive member of society is short-sighted. We are sorry that you are not being allowed to attend a tech school. It happens too often unfortunately.
I myself understand I’m currently on the registry. It’s very difficult to find a stable place. There is litterly no One who will rent to me. In a way I understand. I’ve been kicked out of to many Motels because of my Offense. IIts sad
We are sorry to hear that. One technique used by some is to locate areas where other registrants live. Many registrants find stable places to live, but it is not easy.
new sex laws would be better using both punishment and rehabilitation not just punishment as they are at present.(and the same punishment - as they are at present) there are some people i feel should not be on the list (and if your views are any different please say so.) I dont think children should be on the list (apart from as victims) - and adults who ONLY LOOK at child porn pictures, and people who are done for indecent exposure - these people should be put on rehabilitation without sex offences to follow - because they are not a danger to children - underage dating caused by a mistruth should be solved by putting both parties on rehabilitation. adults who have touched kids are the ones the sex offences were made for and so thats were the offences should be but without a life sentence to follow (the first time) but one to follow if there daft enough to do it again. Being a sex offender changes your life you lose a lot of friends and you lose a lot of peoples respect for the rest of your life, and a lot of people have said to me "what do you mean for the rest of your life it only lasts 10yrs" - But mud sticks your friends dont come back and youve lost the respect you once had ----no we dont have an equvalent of a NARSOL but above is my view.
Certain behaviors should not cause someone to be on the registry, and we think that rehabilitation and restorative justice can be helpful for many individuals. We can point to videos about police stings in which there is no victim and underaged consensual activity as two behaviors that should not be included in a registry. We also feel that a public registry is not effective for preventing crime and contributes to a moral panic that affects the entire society.
It is our policy to avoid discussions of the offense or offenses. The video focuses on redemption and dealing with the registry. Also, if there was a victim (not all sex offense related crimes have one), we would not want that person to be named.
no in the UK the registery is not public - and i'm sure if you were in my shoes it would not be something you would want to shout about - cos remember as soon as people find out you lose your job and everything - thats why youve got things a bit worse than us
Yes, in the states most (not all) registrants have not just their names but addresses and sometimes work freely available. It makes it easier to advocate than in a place where the registry is not public.
matthew this is Martin Kaye speaking (we've spoken before) my full name is Allan Martin Kaye i think you will now find you have less problems ( i will - because i have done it here and in the states aswell) that is got some people to think a bit more sensibly about things
advocates are hard to find because people who are also on the sex list are hard to find, you can find a lot of people in the probation place who might be on the sex list - but its not really the kind of thing you can ask someone is it?
In England the registry is not public, correct? In America it is, making it easy to find out where registrants are located. Also, we have Fearless meetings and a social network, Connections.
You would provide the link so others could sign it, not for individuals at NARSOL. If you wish to have interactions with other people on the registry, consider signing up at Connections, our social network. There you could have conversations with other individuals.
in all those things i wrote down is there anything you dont agree with? - basically im saying lets get rid of the S.O. ecxept in extremely violent cases.
so does the way i want to alter the system match your way then? If it does that means the states and the U.K. are looking for the same thing ---- and feel welcome to join my petition,
We encourage people to sign your petition. Regarding the registry in the U.K. versus America, it is difficult to make a direct comparison. Even the conditions for the registry in Canada have significant differences than those in the United States. Is there an organization similar to NARSOL in the U.K.?
A public registry does not keep the community safe and it places restrictions on people long after they have committed their crimes and served their sentences. These restrictions include where people can work and live as well as travel and other matters, which vary from state and nature of offense. Here's just one example. In some states, a registrant must also register in that state within three days. At that point the person is on the registry in a state where he or she did not commit a crime.
@@someoriginalname6004 After people have completed their sentence, people have the right to start over. If you don't believe in privacy, then use your name when commenting. Or shouldn't we have the right to know who we are talking to?
i have just started a national petition about 14 days ago and 7days ago was contacted by the FBI THE USA embassy and someone else who i cant remember who were also interested in it, and in 14 days of this petitition (while its only national) i have 93 voters - so i am now seriously thinking about sending this petition international, the petition is on g mail and called REPLACE THE BLANKET TERM SEX OFFENDER WITH SPECIFIC TERMS please read it then tell me if you think i should ,
Narsol's does not advocate that offenders not be punished. Our mission is to ensure that when an individual completes their time, they have the chance to rebuild their lives and learn from their mistakes. The Registry makes it harder for a person to reenter society and be a productive member and it does nothing to keep the community safer. Therefore, we never comment on another person's criminal past.
@@NARSOL you hurt anyone special a child there is no redemption for you. @@NARSOL Multiple people have asked what you did, and you refusing to give a straight answer while insisting that the registry is bogus looks really, really bad🤣
have you ever thought about making a documentary for tv which would if it was shown certainly show to a lot of the public that not a lot of the people on the list have a hell of a lot to do with rape or child abuse because the majority of the media think everybody on the list is a child abuser or rapist that will do it again. (because that documentary could be played on uk tv aswell)
That is an excellent idea for a short video. A documentary for television is beyond our capability because of the costs involved as well as the difficulty in getting it aired on television.
i am now asking you to give me as much help as you can (as we are both looking for the same result) someone else using the same petition firm as me has started a petition to allow public access to sex offenders in the UK. there petition was only started a few days ago but already they have a lot more support than i do (but this doesnt surprise me because they are the media, who just follow everybody else without first looking at facts.) could you please help me to get my petition seen before theres - of course they say its for the safety of there children but under the present law not everybody is a child abuser.
Well if you agree with me then we must show them, and one way is to show them how many others think the same way, so lets show them how many others are signing the petition to. - and how many from different countries think the same thing,
What was your offense? If you're for destroying the registry than tell everyone you met what you did, out of your own volition, and then let them decide. Also isn't it anti Christian to violate someone's privacy and/or body?
We make it a policy not to give individual's offenses for legal reasons. And yes--committing a crime of a sexual nature is anti-Christian, but so is not practicing forgiveness.
I hate when these people complain about having to register like dude your a sex offender stfu what do you think your victims feel every day since you molested them ? Or what those kids feel on the videos and images the chomo possessed
It doesn't seem fair that citizens are not allowed to leave their country after they have completed their sentence. But laws related to sexual offenses are not rational.
what is it exactly that you think needs reforming because as far as i can see there is a lot that can be replaced with a rehabilitation system it still needs to be there for cases of violent child abuse but - only in extreme cases for life if it is kept as it is, it is just a stupid system that cots money and doesn't work anyway because it was made for the safety of children and more than half the people on it have nothing to do with kids anyway.
Our mission at NARSOL is to reform laws related to sexual offense and make them rational. If that is your goal as well, it stands to reason we will have similar thoughts.
Sincere question. If a sex offender has a 1% chance of reoffending doesn’t it make perfect sense to have a registry? Shouldn’t not commit sex crimes if you don’t want put on the registry?
find someone who the audience of our video will take seriously about facts to do with the % of sex offenders there are on the list, but not a danger in rape or child abuse (a doctor who deals with the sex world or something). and interview them (point your camera/s in there direction - interview them and film, then wait for them to go home now point the camera/s at yourself and repeat the interview talking to no-one. send both films to me i'll edit them - then well have a complete interview)
its prrobably the same rule as here then. --- make a 10min film -show how a guy lives life before being called an offender (good job at present, good future job opurtunitys, lots of friends, plenty of places, to go to --- etc etc) now lets get a 14yr old girl who lies about her age, he takes her out --- he is now called a sex offender (he is as inoccent as the day is long because its her that lied) but where has his good life (we talked about before) gone?
I'm choose deportation(though I want my admisión to the states back) but if I was on the state I will fight more than Gandhi against registration specially on non-violent offenses. Or we either register all crimes or abolish the non-constitutional registry. I LOVE Jesus but it is mess up that even after you pay with time you still being watch as though you still in prision . No man create equal should endure this registration nonsense.
dont you think they would be far better if they were carried out on a rehabilitation/jail system rather than just a jail system and the length of time the defendant is a S.O. surely should depend on the crime he/she has committed? Should children under 16 be on there? if a mature looking 15 yr old lies about her age to a respectable guy he can give her a kiss then get on the sex registry for statutory rape
if you've got problems editing the video i can help youout there if you send me the video camera shots over here (by e-mail) then i'll put them all together on my computer and send you an edited film back by e-mail with your name and my name in the credits
these comments are not about you they are to an overlooking person, on the internet. who stopped me sending an e-mail to you (by blanking it out after i had written it.)
People do live with their mistakes, and serve their sentences. However, once they have paid their debt to society, all people who make mistakes should be given a second chance. We are not advocating that people avoid punishment, but we do believe that laws for sexual offenders should be rational, based on what works and not fear. Also, we do not believe in name calling. If you choose to post again, please avoid doing so.
How has it helped you? By seeing that an offender is across the fkn street? What about your neighbor that’s been doing harm to people and just haven’t got caught ? You’d be more focused on the guy across the street!!! You think a fkn list will stop someone from offending?
If sex offenders started to move to a single state say maine or vermont they could maybe change the laws in that state to make life a little easy for them.
If states enacted more rational and reasonable laws, then people wouldn't have to move. Seems like people would have a better chance of becoming productive citizens if they have a support system of family and friends.
Yes, but just like say the mormons as an example were considered the sex offenders a long time ago and had to flee state to state untill they were able to settle in utah. Point is they gained the power to secure themselves because of so many in one place. West virginia would be a good place because of the ratio of sex offenders that live there. Also for those that can't move to a single state like west virginia or even vermont then they need to choose a county with-in their own state to do the same thing.
Sex offenders don’t stand a chance with the registry being accessible at any time. I am still trying to figure out how it’s right for a sex offender to be listed publicly for anyone to see and yet anyone else has to sign papers to have their background checked for a job or place to live. In my opinion the registry causes more harm than good and doesn’t give the registrant a chance to live without any harassment or death threats or death itself. It’s like open season.
All you people sobbing is crazy to me. Your not in prison. Your not dead.. you can still become anything you want.. soo you can’t live near a damn daycare or work a decent 9-5.. a 9-5 for the next 30 years is more depressing than being in the registry. Stop crying because nobody cares. get up an shake this world up
Your response suggests you did not watch the videos and are not aware of the other limitations and restraints placed on registrants. First, as an organization we provide support to people on the registry so they can make something of themselves. And many registrants do become successful, especially those that have skills in high-demand. Depending on the state of residence, registrants are forbidden to do certain jobs. They must register. If they travel to another state, they are required to notify the law authorities of the county where they will be. International travel is limited. Often these restrictions have nothing to do with the offense of an individual. Most states require registrants to list their address, and individuals have used that information to dox registrants and in some instances murder them. We advocate for rational sex offense laws, and these restrictions, which are punitive in nature, are not rational.
@@NARSOL I’m pretty sure if somebody on the registry was murdered it more than likely would be a relative related to the victim or something like that.

We are sorry to hear about your situation.
Venting is acceptable in situations such as yours.
We are grateful the story gave you hope. We have stories like these because people need to see it is possible to move beyond the registry.

Thanks for sharing your story we live in such a broken country!!! The registry causes family separation and fear. I admire you have a good home to stay.
Hi from France. Registry needs to stop. Without family or a community, this is a social murder. Exactly like a social credit system but more hypocritical. Take care.
We would be interested to hear if there is a registry in France and what it is like.

This registry lasts shorter than a hundred years
The biggest problem is that people just don't understand that those who commit such offenses often have deep remorse for the act, not for getting caught.

Wow. Americans on the registry are allowed to leave the country. However, they are turned around in many countries. Australia is one of those countries.
The rules are based on whether an individual is still on community supervision (parole or probation).

Without a link to a web address, it is not possible to direct people to the correct site.
I have no idea what you did to get yourself into prison, but there is no way any person should get off of the registry if incest was committed.
Incest is a terrible crime, but as you suggested, you have no idea whether this individual committed such action. If you believe that a person should be punished for life, then perhaps you should suggest to your legislators the laws be changed so that only those who have committed those kind of serious crimes be on a registry because that is currently not the case.
could you please tell me why you have crossed some of that letter out? because there was no bad languadge in it?
What are you referring to?
meeting other advocates is not so easy to do, because 1 thing you do is keep the fact that your a sex offender quiet from as many people as possible, (so how do i know who i'm looking for?)
Advocates are typically individuals impacted by having someone on the registry. This is especially true if the individual on the registry is/was young when they committed the offense and the response is completely irrational to the behavior.
Anti depressants like Escitalopram can do away with sexual urges.
It's a non sexual drug. Just 60 mg per day is all it takes. It reduces testosterone.

We agree. The current system is not rational. Having said that, our focus in reforming the registry. We don't have the resources to respond to individual situations.
its crazy im in the south and im being told i cant go to a tech school near me
While we don't comment directly on which states have harsher restrictions, many southern states put more restrictions on registrants. Not allowing an individual to learn a trade so they can be a productive member of society is short-sighted. We are sorry that you are not being allowed to attend a tech school. @@NARSOL Yes. Sex offender registry laws NEED TO STOP! NOW!
new sex laws would be better using both punishment and rehabilitation not just punishment as they are at present.(and the same punishment - as they are at present) there are some people i feel should not be on the list (and if your views are any different please say so.) I dont think children should be on the list (apart from as victims) - and adults who ONLY LOOK at child porn pictures, and people who are done for indecent exposure - these people should be put on rehabilitation without sex offences to follow - because they are not a danger to children - underage dating caused by a mistruth should be solved by putting both parties on rehabilitation. adults who have touched kids are the ones the sex offences were made for and so thats were the offences should be but without a life sentence to follow (the first time) but one to follow if there daft enough to do it again. Being a sex offender changes your life you lose a lot of friends and you lose a lot of peoples respect for the rest of your life, and a lot of people have said to me "what do you mean for the rest of your life it only lasts 10yrs" - But mud sticks your friends dont come back and youve lost the respect you once had
----no we dont have an equvalent of a NARSOL but above is my view.
Seems like nice guy but notice he dient tell what his offence was .

In England the registry is not public, correct? In America it is, making it easy to find out where registrants are located. Also, we have Fearless meetings and a social network, Connections.
the reason i couldnt find it is i looked for it on you tube. where i talked to you. and it is adressed on google

so does the way i want to alter the system match your way then? If it does that means the states and the U.K. are looking for the same thing ---- and feel welcome to join my petition,
We encourage people to sign your petition. Regarding the registry in the U.K. versus America, it is difficult to make a direct comparison. Even the conditions for the registry in Canada have significant differences than those in the United States. Is there an organization similar to NARSOL in the U.K.?
Why do you want to get off the registry
A public registry does not keep the community safe and it places restrictions on people long after they have committed their crimes and served their sentences. These restrictions include where people can work and live as well as travel and other matters, which vary from state and nature of offense.
Here's just one example. In some states, a registrant must also register in that state within three days. At that point the person is on the registry in a state where he or she did not commit a crime.

That is an excellent idea for a short video. A documentary for television is beyond our capability because of the costs involved as well as the difficulty in getting it aired on television.

Or what those kids feel on the videos and images the chomo possessed
well if an american sex offender is allowed to travel outside there country, why is an australian, or u.k. citizen not allowed?
It doesn't seem fair that citizens are not allowed to leave their country after they have completed their sentence. But laws related to sexual offenses are not rational.
what is it exactly that you think needs reforming because as far as i can see there is a lot that can be replaced with a rehabilitation system it still needs to be there for cases of violent child abuse but - only in extreme cases for life if it is kept as it is, it is just a stupid system that cots money and doesn't work anyway because it was made for the safety of children and more than half the people on it have nothing to do with kids anyway.
All of those things are true. The general public needs to be educated on who and how an individual can land on the registry.
from what you are writing to me, and what i am writing to you, it seems to me like we have similar thoughts,
Our mission at NARSOL is to reform laws related to sexual offense and make them rational. If that is your goal as well, it stands to reason we will have similar thoughts.
no we dont have a similar system in the uk (we can always start one)
You might want to start by locating individuals who are advocates.
We will pass your name on to the people at NARSOL responsible for these videos. Thank you again.
its prrobably the same rule as here then.
Obviously his life was better before being on the registry. This video shows that it is possible to overcome it.
O.K. thanks for telling me
No problem
dont you think they would be far better if they were carried out on a rehabilitation/jail system rather than just a jail system and the length of time the defendant is a S.O. surely should depend on the crime he/she has committed? Should children under 16 be on there? if a mature looking 15 yr old lies about her age to a respectable guy he can give her a kiss then get on the sex registry for statutory rape

thanks for the clarification.
Id curious to know what you did.. you spent plenty of time talking about what a great person you are . I dont forgive your type
Y’all made a mistake and now you have to live with so idk what to tell you don’t be a creep!!!!!
Stopped watching after the religious mumbo jumbo.....
answer me if youre capable you overpowered sods
We are not sure what you are referring to. But these comments are not called for. Please refrain from them.
Keep the registry
How has it helped you? By seeing that an offender is across the fkn street? What about your neighbor that’s been doing harm to people and just haven’t got caught ? You’d be more focused on the guy across the street!!! You think a fkn list will stop someone from offending?
Those that are religious are NEVER to be trusted. So much Jesus talk but clearly never read the Bible lmfao
Thank you. We agree.
Not a random act of violence 😂😂that sounds extremely rare and probably happened maybe once or twice.. I can tell your trying to do good but just the way you act in these videos it seems to me like you are defeated. Maybe your guilt and shame has formed you to a religious and honest man.. but a lot of people on the registry truly don’t deserve to be on it at all and to those people you can’t live life thinking the way your thinking.. you gotta have some fight still left in you or what’s the point? Sorry I was only trying to motivate people who from experience I know feel like they have no chance of success.
I myself have been abused as a child and I'm not going into detail for obvious reasons but I think people like you are horrible and childish you can at least work a 9-5 these people can't because of a mistake they made or mistakes in some cases they basically don't have a life at all what's the point in them being alive everyone deserves a second chance there's people that have committed the most sick crimes imaginable and they come out and change and do amazing things for society
@@benmoore3441 They don’t deserve to be alive. They ended their own lives as well as the lives of their victims.
@@ky2226 they haven't ended any life my life's not over yes what happened to me has impacted my life but it's not over I have accepted what happened to me it is what it is and nothing can change that and harassing them and shunning them from society doesn't help me it doesn't make me feel any better not does it stop people from doing it and most people like yourself already know that u just don't care , u use the fact that somebody has done something really fucked up to be horrible to them and it doesn't make u a good person and it contributes to reoffending it's been proven that therapy and medication minimizes reoffending in most crimes
