    Producing K-Pop is extremely difficult. This was just an intro a pre-chorus and a chorus but usually K-Pop has different variations for each section of a song and it almost never repeats so you end up having like 90 or more mixer channels by the end of the track with multiple layers, effects, drum kits and even BPMs.

      @@damontamang of course there are great musicians in rock and pop and stuff what I'm saying is that I think k pop artist and musicians are highly underrated imagine Justin Bieber singing like he does and dancing as good as professional dancers that's basically jung kook from BTS he's a vocal genius and can dance like a professional dancer (I mean he is a professional dancer) but what I'm saying is that people see it as "self evident" that he can dance so well imagine Justin Bieber doing it he would be considered god or something

    The best guide for kpop!
    I guess I do agree there is alot of scale change specially from Phrygian to minor and major …
    I loved that verse main melody… I guess I have heard this in every kpop song ( blackpink uses this kinda melody with tonal percussions)
    And they use model exchange and jazzy chords in between parts..
    But best part is the way they changes styles and genre within sections and sometimes use different style sample for totally different genres
    Thank You Austin for this guide! ❤

    Very informative! It would be awesome to see how calm-ish kpop songs are made too like "Make It Right" by BTS or "Eight" by IU and Suga, or even pop songs like "Change Ur Mind" by Sarcastic Sounds and "Cold in LA" by Why Don't We. Also, I'm not Korean, but I attempted singing "Life Goes On" by BTS in full-Korean with the karaoke instrumentals. I want to make more original songs than what I've made so far, but my weak point is the production, instrumentals, and mixing of them. I'm trying to learn more and these videos are super helpful, so thanks!

    • @grimtune7858
      @grimtune7858 Рік тому

      Sounds like that mainly have a slower bpm, and a calming guitar.. Less hitting drums, a simple sub bass, like for eight its mainly a guitar chord progression that drives the song, with some slight fx and drum n snare, if you wanna make something calm you need to start it out with a calm foundation

    Can you please answer a really simple question? This video was good, but quite honestly, I need to ask, are supposed to start with chords for the verse? Or the chorus? Or just find chords you like and use the same ones through the whole song? Often groups like TWICE do this where they have the same chords, mostly, through the whole song, although there are instances where they change or add 1 or 2 extra chords. So many videos I have watched have REALLY over complicated what I am trying to understand to a point of pure confusion, and feel like I just shouldn't bother making kpop music at all. Please help advise and explain the process in a more simple form? Also, drums beats, how do you know what drum beat you want? I find using MIDI for drum beats easier than raw wave files because you can adjust them tighter, but how do you decide what feel you want for them too?
