I've put it together (Well proxied the SoFI for now) but it's really fun to play, the Glistener elf gives another option for a turn 2 kill, and i've always liked Apostle's blessing so when i saw there was 4 i just couldn't resist :P
The 4 Bogles in side also gives much more survivability against burn decks game 2-3, the only sideboard modification I did really was to swap a mirran crusader to a Fiendslayer paladin.
Next FNM Modern I might be able to pull it off. Have to work around no faithless. But I have the lands for it.
Game one is literally the definition of jankin' 'em out lol. When Opp says "WTF" you know it's a good deck.
I like it when opponents aren't salty about things and appreciate fun combos. You don't say "Wtf?" to an opponent unless you're enjoying things. I once had an opponent playing a Battle of Wits deck who saw me play an Altar of the Brood and said "Good luck!" that could've been a BM jibe, but when it became clear I was playing a similarly janky deck (basically a 0-cmc artifact Paradoxical Outcome deck but with Diligent Excavators and said Altars, as a mill actual win-con), he was cheering me on by the end when I was milling 30-60 cards a turn (despite playing fairly and not just letting me win). I even milled him out fully on the second game! He even asked for the decklist at the end, as a fellow lover of jank - still talk to him now on Skype!

I had it better once on cockatrice, my opponent asked if I was playing a rules lawyer deck. I was playing loam pox with anvil of bogarden, geier reach sanitarium, and chains of mephistopheles.

It is, and monastery swiftspear works well in it too
it does have more 1 mana threads, which is a plus, but mana is a lot worse... but yeah non budget should be an upgrade. maybe we can get seth to play infect xD
It's a 3 card, 2 land, turn 2 kill. Mulligan till you get the combo. Seems gross.

To attack T2 you need to play inkmoth first. So you don't have colored man to play aid.
T2 you need to activate inkmoth so you still don't have colored mana available.

43:16 Could have saved the Vindicator with the Hammer. Opponent had already activated Jace that turn.
He probably wasn't paying attention but opponent still had a snapcaster in hand that they bounced earlier with TiTi
even if jayce wasnt activated yet, opponent could have not seen the plays/forget to activate jayce. Make them do it seth
Opponent had the snapcaster, but still Seth was pretty close to completely trowing away the game.
I think I might have made a mistake there.
@@MTGGoldfish came to say this, but truth be told they had 4 cards in hand. Chances are they probably had another bolt or another remand. It is definitely not a guarantee that you win, but there was a shot.

I'd really like to see a non-budget version of this.
I'd also really like to see an infect/bogles style deck that leans on unblockable and/or infect creatures that could have more potential 1shot capabilities. Biggest problem there is that it definitely would be less budget due to the required land base.

@@jacobwalbridge2535 Typical infect creatures don't have flying if we're talking about Glistener Elf and Blighted Agent. That said, even Inkmoth Nexus while it has flying, it doesn't matter that it loses it. You get to cast and attach the hammer at instant speed meaning you can do so after it has attacked with flying and your opponent has been unable to block but before damage. By the time it loses flying from the hammer it's too late to block with a ground creature anyway. There are also creatures like Silhana Ledgewalker or Signal Pest which despite not having flying themselves cannot be blocked except by creatures with flying or reach.
In the article in the description, it actually goes naya and plays blighted agent and inkmoth, along with steelshaper's gift for more consistency on turn 3 wins

I'm confused, isn't Steelshaper's Gift almost strictly better than Open the Armory in this deck? Can't tutor out the On Thin Ice, but it costs half as much mana.

What about Apostle's Blessing over Brave the Elements? While Brave hits all your creatures and is 1 mana, Apostle's Blessing can be 1 mana (Of any colour), protect your Hammer (Or other Artifacts) and can make your creature pro-artifact (Which may prove relevant).
It would make the creature drop the hammer (heh) if you targeted it and make it pro artifact.

Against Naya Burn you would actually have a higher chance of losing if you had a non-budget mana base. Not taking damage from shocklands and fetch lands actually kept you alive.

The phyrexian protection spell insulates the combo a lot better. You can hold up whatever color mana, get through artifact blockers, protect both the equipment and your creatures.

This deck, card for card is approximately 150$ 8/28/19, im trying for a chandra/hammer/shrapnel deck- i wanna be able to throw hammers at opponents as well lol😁 Thank you for showing us something fun, in a fun way and opening my eyes to look into the cards even further, also Card Kingdom shopping format is very tidy and easy to use! I would love to get one of your stickers, i forgot to ask lol but i wont next time! You are actually quite fun to watch and another thank you for outlining the decks you are using😁 ive been playing since Ice Age😊

The mana cost is less restrictive than pouncer due to hybrid mana. The embalm cost just isn't really relevant in this fast of a format
Swiftblade dodges Wrenn and Six and Lava Dart which are both seeing heavy play right now.

43:32 They can't unsummon with jace that turn, they had just fatesealed. It gives you a one turn window to stop your next attack, which would've been lethal with the trample.

I thinl this deck needs some removal, either in the main or sideboard. A bolt or path could have made a couple of those games much easier to win.

I'm going to incorporate this into my infect deck.
Why not use vault scirge as a creatre, it has flying so its less likely to be blocked, lifelink to buffer the life total, and costs 1 colorles with the phirexian mana
It will lose flying when the hammer gets on it, but flashing it on with Sigarda's Aid can at least get one attack through. The problem is that after that first flash it has no evasion or even the double strike.
Flying doesn't work very well with Hammer since it makes the creature lose flying.
In game one against kiki you said they could just bounce with jace after the bolted your dude, but they had just took him up. More than likely they didn't have counter magic since they hadn't been uaing it while untapped the turns before rather than running out pestermites that only lasted one turn.
I'm calling a punt and a scoop too soon.

Wow awesome I brewed a very similar non budget deck with swords of so and so ,Kor outfitter ,seasoned pyromancer ,giver of runes , ranger captain of Eos, and ather vial but also had vindicator and on thin ice for removal lol
