I have had this condition because of a Trama car accident, I walk like I am on a
cruise and it is getting rough. I have been searching for months and this is their best video on this condition I have watched many and been around physio gym
platies and it works as I have been self treating at the gym with help, no drugs.
Balance is very important exercise. I wear dance practice shoes split soul all
the time or good feet inserts. Box step waltz balance bounce strengthing helps.
Nutrition is important to get rid of inflammatory condition I drink apple cyder
vinegar. 9 months into recovery over 60 it hurts but I would not call it painful
as it was in the beginning as I could not walk. Hope this helps, I have treated
other conditions and Bob Brad are the best. I pray for you all suffering this
condition to be healed in Jesus Name I believe prayer helps.

You guys rock! I am a 74 yo very active female. R hip has been bothering me for about six weeks, finally went to Dr, awaiting referral OK for PT appointment. Hadn't slept well for several nights, watched your video yesterday, dd the exercises and used the pillow for side lying L. Slept throughout the night and feel 90% better! I think that the use of the pillow keeps me from rolling back over on the injured side and waking up in pain. Most greatful.

I don't know if this will help others but try it...At the moment my rehab chiropractor is working on my muscles. In the beginning it is very painful. It has been two months and he asks me to walk forwards and backwards. As we age our front muscles seems to get over worked and gets tight as well shorten. Walking backwards also is very important, those muscles get fatigued, over stretched with poor posture, slouching. So walking, doing supermans laying on your stomach , tightening your gluteus also strengthens the muscles along our spine.
Only a suggestion and try not to sit a lot. I feel so much better and grateful that I found this doctor.

Love your exercises. One thing that has really helped my bursitis is avoiding gluten. I accidentally stumbled upon the the connection between my bursitis and carbs (gluten) when I went onto a low carb diet. Within a week I started to feel a difference. Couldn’t believe it! It’s been a few years now since I’ve been careful with gluten intake and I can enjoy long walks without having to take painkillers or use an ice pack when I get home.

I know this video is a few years old, but I just had to comment. I was diagnosed with bursitis in my left hip in 2007, and it was the beginning of a nightmare. I hurt so bad, and nothing worked. I had so many cortisone shots that I lost track. After a year and a half, my Dr recommended a Bursectomy as a last resort. I'm sure it will come as no surprise to you that it didn't work. I was informed a few years down the road by an orthopedic Dr that no one does that surgery because it just simply doesn't work. By then, I was unable to continue working and retired early in 2013. I wish I had found you way back then!!!! I'm happy to see by the comments that you are helping so many
    people. God bless you!

I am 38 years old with CREST syndrome, RA, and possibly lupus. Pain has been a part of life, but the last few years it’s debilitating. One area I am struggling with the most currently is my hips. Both sides, and around to the spine. I can’t sleep. I can no longer work, go hiking, I can’t even get up a flight of stairs most days. I am going to start doing these every day. I pray I get even a little relief.

Thank you guys for helping me figure this mystery out! I have multiple spinal herniations including one at L4-L5 from a car accident. I’ve suffered lower back pain and stiffness for months but recently the pain is on my outer buttock area. I got shots for the pain and clicking and was told it’s my si joints. After watching another video you did on hip bursitis I realized that the messenger bag that I carry everyday strapped over one shoulder is constantly putting weight on my hip and also the constant contact with my hip when I walk is agitating the area. I started taking my meloxicam again and stopped using the messenger handbag and it helped!! Whewh!! That’s much better than facing a hip replacement in my thirties.

I absolutely murdered my left hip bursa by riding my bike too far and too strenuously after having been idle during the COVID quarantine months. The aging body is far less forgiving, that's for sure.
Felt great before, during, and even shortly after those rides, but wound up almost crippled the following day. Really need to learn these stretching exercises to do prior to riding, and following as well.

Thanks to this video, I now know I have bursitis, although a MRI showed that I had arthritis. All my pain on the side of my hip, not the lower or inner part.
Throughout my life, I typically crossed my left leg over my right leg as you displayed here, and had good flexibility, but got bursitis in my left hip. Also, when I played baseball, I always slid on my left side, landing partly on that hip. I think that might’ve been part of the cause, although I didn’t feel any pain until I was in my 50’s. My right hip is much less flexible, and doesn’t have any bursitis or any pain whatsoever. Therefore, I thought crossing my left leg possibly helped cause the bursitis.
The best way I found to control and eliminate the pain, is to simply exercise and keep the hip muscle strong. I already do some of your exercises here, but am going to do some of the other ones, but will be careful on the “leg crossing” one. I don’t want to get bursitis in my right hip, too.

I am watching because I've had a recent bout of burning pain in my hip. However, watching makes me think of my family. Your comment on the cane is so right on about people who refuse to use one. Would rather be in pain and walk awkwardly than use one. My mother is one of those. I found her a free sitting elliptical as well. It's sitting in her garage under mounds of junk. She has the tools, so it's up to her whether or not she uses them... I am going to do what I can to keep moving. Had a doctor tell me while in the midst of chemo to not stop moving. Even if at a snails pace.

I fell off some stairs which left me with a back injury that left one of my hips higher than the other. This happened in my late 20's. Now I am 54 and the ball of my hip hurts. My knee on the same side hurts too, which I think is related to my hip being misplaced. When I walk I can't help but waddle because of how that back injury moved my hips out of place.

Thanks to youtube and the doctors, it's crazy, I was very active, outdoors type, but in my teens, i had that pain problem in my hip, leg
And, After 60 plus years I find out what that pain was, that band rubbing when I use to waltz, was that ever painful, but, I never said a word, just suffered it out. We didn't run to the doctors back in the day. I'm glad I finally found out this information altho' i no longer waltz

6 months ago, I had a reaction (rare but happens to some women over 60 LOL - of course) to Trulicity. It caused muscle issues from the waist down, both sides. It was horrible. By about June it subsided, however, my right hip was having major residual issues from it. I paid really close to what the pain was like, where it was coming from, and it felt like muscle and something a bit deeper. It got worse, I went to PT, it still got worse. My PC ordered x-rays to illuminate any fracture, which it did. So, your video helped me be sure it was sciatic because of the issues down the leg to the toes. I borrowed a friend SI belt and put it on yesterday. Woke up today to a much better frame. My PC has me going back to PT for an eval so she can get a prior authorization for my own SI belt and with the stretches specific to Sciatica and Piriformis issues I can actually regain my function, less or no pain, and feel human again. This all started with the horrible and awful RARE side effects for older women on what I thought I would be my life saver from insulin LOL. The only bad thing in life is type II diabetes so back to a keto lifestyle to deal with that and being able to move without hunching over, wabbling, and not even being able to stand to wash dishes. Seriously - I love your videos and learned about the sciatic nerve and piriformis 3 wks after this 1st happened. Thanks you!

Unfortunately for me I have arthritis and bursitis in my left hip.
Those stretches are too painful to do. I’m only 58 so I’ve been putting off using a cane but I think I’ll start since I do waddle and don’t want to be doing more damage or damage other parts of my body because of it.
Thanks for your videos, they’re very informative 😊

Hi Bob and Brad, ¡what a great video for hip arthritis and bursitis patients!, I make almost all of the hip stretches sporadically ,I´d like to be more persistent, I was a side sleeper and suffered of trokantaeric bursitis also, and it improved by changing my sleep position, the switch wasn't easy but I achieved it, now I sleep on my back and the problem has disappeared, I learn a lot with your videos, guys. I love the introductory quotes, are so wise words. Thanks and loves to both of you 😘😘

Good video, great explanations of bursitis. I currently have it in my right hip and the pain is so bad nothing will help. A doctor doesn’t really tell you the cause or the correct meds to take but my experience is stairs are your enemy and heat instead of ice works best and take over the counter pain not prescription medication. This pain is worse than shoulder surgery.

I'm a NICU nurse and use the ankle on the the knee position to sit my babies on and raise them closer to me. I'm tall with a long trunk.
Unfortunately despite strengthening exercises and stretching I'm rapidly losing motion in that hip. This is making my work more difficult and the pain is out of control.

R.A. it's genetic in my family, so I've been dealing with it for many many years, I've had it all over my joints. Then was diagnosed with not only having R.A. but Fibromyalgia, and ultimately osteoarthritis in my left hip, which I just had total hip replacement on . I'm 49 years old and could not function, I was already walking with a cane. It litterally took over my life, the pain was in my hip, cervix, and down my entire left leg..i could not bend or lift it. Now I feel great, sire sure due to the surgery, but I'm pain free from arthritis and birsitis...beat thing I've decided to do.

Fitness Technology Services Try using 2 standard canes with a curved top, not a flat top. Set them higher than you think, about 2 or 3 inches higher than your wrists. This takes the weight off the hip while walking, and gives lateral stability. Easier than crutches, providing your arms are strong.
