An Honest Mistake - Lake Perris

Went to Lake Perris and this unfortunately happened. I hope that this never happens again. I do not want to ever kill another bass. If this ever happens again I will quit fishing because it hurts me deep down.
RIP to the little bass that died in this video.
Next time just cut the line or the hook itself and the rest of it will rust out in a few weeks it’ll help you save more fish
Thanks for the advice man! I will do next time. I didn’t have any pliers or anything to cut the hook. But yeah I probably could’ve just cut the line. I’m going to get some pliers soon though so this never happens again
Always carry needle nose pliers when fishing.

sometimes this happens but it was not intentional, so you did everything right, they are unfortunate things that happen to any fisherman
If you are planning on catch and release, bend the barbs back too. Less chance of catching the fish but less chance of killing it too, but it will happen again, that's just part of fishing
This could have easily been prevented if you knew how to release a fish. If it's upside down, it's basically like an upside down shark and if you could leave the fish in the water longer, it would have lived. I hope you never fish trout releasing like that
Fishing Legit I’ve gone trout fishing and have had easy and successful releases. This has only happened to me once. But thanks for the comment
