In today's episode we take off onto our second backpacking trip (Nenize's first). We decided to do Forks of The Kern Trail.
We took off late on July 13, so nothing much happened except a lot of driving. We ended up staying at a free to camp spot on the side of the road on our way to Sequoia.
The next day we woke up and finished the drive to the trail head. We hiked in, fished, and relaxed. I caught one mystery fish on the first day. The day went quick and we found ourselves at our camp site, exhausted. We went to bed early that night and thankfully it wasn't too cold to bare.
The last day we woke up early made breakfast and went fishing before we headed out. I caught a nice rainbow trout this day. Unfortunately the hook got him good and we was bleeding already. Instead of leaving him to die in the river we did a catch and cook. He was delicious! After that we hiked back up, which was very tiring.
I recommend you guys come out and check this trail out. The views are nice, the hike wasn't that long (only hard coming back up the hill), and nothing beats relaxing in beautiful mother nature.
Leave me some feedback with the like or dislike button. Or leave me a comment on what you would like to see in the future. As always, thank you to everyone that took the time to watch this video!

You got a pike minnow. Good thing you released him. I don't think those are good to eat.

It is a very nice and wild area for sure. I have to comment on a few things first though: #1: you need to have Bear Spray and a Bear Proof Food Container. #2: That water is "Special Regulations Only", look it up on line. #3: You never "scale " a trout, simply gut them clean the inside and wrap in foil to bake. This skin flakes off when done.

awesome video, I tried fishing close to this area and did not have any luck :[ It looks like you caught a Pike Minnow though, looks like a fun catch too. You've inspired me to try coming out to this area and making a catch and cook too, hopefully the fish like my bait as much as they liked yours!

Haha thanks I appreciate the kind words. Just take different types of bait and try change up your positioning and casting spots to cover more water and you will probably have some luck. I love getting out there and camping out, wish I had more time to do it though!
