Damn Oliver, I miss that fishery and wish it was what it once was in the late 80s and early 90s. Hopefully people will take good care of it and it'll come back as the premier trophy bluegill lake. Thanks for sharing brither.
What beautiful little guys!!well, big little guys!! How awesome to have those in a 200 gln tank huh! Bringing back some memories 🤙🤙 keep on young Jedi 🙏❤️
This is my home lake been fishing here my whole life. I remember the big bass days . But I love the blue hills they fight like crazy and taste great. And I do believe the trophy blue gill is in that lake somewhere. Would love to come fishing with y'all one day !
When I was a kid in SE Ohio (1970s) we used to fish at my great uncle's farm pond...maybe 2 1/2 acres. We used to regularly catch 1 1/2 to 2lb BGs (10-11 inches) and 4-5lb bass. On cane poles!!!! with worms. So much fun! When you're 7-8 yrs old these fish seem gigantic! My grandma used to fry up whole BGs and bass filets...so good. Really miss those days, thanks for reminding me.
I always thought those were red ear sunfish. We would get crickets from the Lakeside store and use #10 mosquito hook and split shot, 4lb flouro and then use our graph to find schools off the dam. And also during the spawn back on the east side in the brush as you show . This was when the water was down for all those years due to the dam repair. Great vid! Thanks for the memories.
Nice catches! I grew up in Nuevo and heard the stories of big Spotted Bass in Perris. Never got a chance as a kid in the 90s. Might have to go back now with my kayak.
My home lake. Every summer I put down the bass gear for bit to catch some nice Gills. It's so addicting. I have a video on my channel showing how to fish for them. They looove the drop shot mealworm.
I have been catching those at Perris before I even knew what they were. 😆 It was a bait maker from Minnesota that told me what they were exactly. I have found several places where they school up at. I usually catch them with a tight wiggle crankbait with the hooks swapped out to sz 12 trebles. They hit SO hard. And fight even harder. 😆Good video. Shedding light on these fish. Very fun. 👍😁
Wow, thank you for sharing. I have a small group of Scouts I need to get onto fish. We have struck out twice trying to catch fish. We have gone to Pyramid Lake and Castaic Lake. We were trying for stripped bass. When is the best time to try and catch these fish? We would likely be fishing from shore. Thank you for your time.
My uncles father in law has been an avid fly fisherman for 60+years. A couple years ago he asked me if I wanted to see something different (knowing I hadn't spent more than 1 hour In total with a fly rod In my hand). He took me out in his canoe In the evening and found a decent size bug hatch. I remember him saying "hear that?" as bugs on the surface were getting Crushed. He stood up and threw a tiny popper as well as a dry fly w his fly rod and was getting smashed on surface every cast for 10min or so. Then he handed me the rod and told me the basics of casting. For an hour straight nonstop I had some of the most fun I've ever had fishing during a short period of time
Big thumbs up for taking the time to tell everyone not to harvest these big bull bluegill and how special they are. I give about 200 thumbs down today to idiots showing coolers full just to make 2 bucks off a video! Good job guys educating people!
Thanks for sharing your video, love your conservation values! If you have been fishing Lake Perris for that length of time you must know a gentleman by the name of Sonny?
@BigBassDreams brother, since I got your attention.. I have a 10 lb braid and 4lb flouro leader. On a drop shot, what weight should I use ? 1/4oz or 1oz
@@BigBassDreams thanks for that info. Because of you I got myself a VX 21 on the way so ill save a little now not having to buy fish anymore, hehe. Oh I forgot to tell you I have to learn how to fish next also.

Brings back great memories of grandpa, my cousin, my dad and myself catching those by Bernasconi beach in the 80's ❤
I'm digging the Big Panfish videos... Those Big Copper Nose Bluegill and those Big Redear 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Awesome brother. I think bluegill fishing doesn’t quite get the credit it deserves. And those were some monsters.👍🇺🇸
Wow...good ole times. LOL SAVE ON TACKLE...MY SPOT!...MISS THE OG spot...good work fellas. Thanks.
Stephan always kills it out there in Perris

👀Big Panfish Dreams 🔥🔥
Love me some big BGs. Love the video
Oliver , you should bring some of those copper nose gills and put them in Fairmont park in Riverside. I would greatly appreciate it 🙏.
Moving fish in California is not only illegal, but unethical. Bucket biology has ruined many fisheries. Don't do it.

Heck yeah guys! Those fish are so cool! Nice work
My home lake even though I haven't been fishing in years. My usual rig is a 1/80 jighead with a meal worm on 2lbs line
Awesome... Was there last weekend.
Shad eaters right there. Love them, if they grew to 10lbs then that's all I'd fish for!! Nice work 👊👊
They should put some in Silverwood Lake. Nice video and happy fishing 🎣
I was thinking the same thing!
All sunfish species rock!! Great content man
I'm getting my 2lb test rig ready for the gill bite, great video and hope to meet you at Perris some day.
my favorite type of fishing tbh with a tiny jig
Nice I caught bluegill and 2 gar tonight
Bro! To never forget where we come from goes a long way 💯. Absolutely Love ur channel! Ur content is Dope! Thank you!
As a kid my uncle would take me here fishing, and we would catch bass but i always wanted to know if there was Striper in Lake Perris?
Yes, not many but there are some BIG Ones - ua-cam.com/video/boiaO8ePzKE/v-deo.html
Great video boys!!! Sunfish for the win....we are luck to have them here in SoCal.

Went there today, only my second time fishing. And caught a nice size bass, was so excited.
I caught a 3.5 pound crappie there last week on a 6 inch jerkbait while bass fishing, big fish in that lake
i havent fished there since i moved to washington state. that lake has my pb largemouth at 10.8 pounds and obviously my pb bluegill at like 3 pounds

What other lakes have those giant gills in Southern California??
Thanks for sharing your video, love your conservation values! If you have been fishing Lake Perris for that length of time you must know a gentleman by the name of Sonny?
A little upset I didn't get an invite. ngl lol
Thanks for the information. When is the best time to target those bluegills at Perris?
March-October has been great for us
I need someone to show me how to catch crappie at perris..
It’s a national travesty that this channel only has 48.8K subscribers.
Can you please take me out so I can catch some of those giant gills? I will pay you..
I miss that water level
I got same size there but what lot are you guys and is it walking or gotta get on a a boat to get there I’m tired of the dock to many men Lmao 🤣
Anyone else spot that fish popping out at 3:30 right behind where they were fishing ?
Carp were spawning all around
Fish tacos 🌮!!!
Can you catch these shoreline at Perris? I don't have a boat.
Yes, they can absolutely be caught from the shoreline! Try the launch ramp, bernasconi beach, dam and east end areas from March through May. Good luck
What kind of bait or lures for perris lake
Florida Strain Fish get “Big!”
Brother !
What side do you recommend to fish for these bluies..north shore or bye the other south entrance ..ty
East end from the ski ramps all the way around to Bernasconi beach are great places to search for the gills! Good luck!
@BigBassDreams ty brother, I appreciate that..

have you ever caught striped bass there

To me that’s the fish that deserves a fly line and lure it would be tons of fun, but on spinning reel too boring. ✌️
Do bluegills make good fish 🌮 tacos?
Yes they do
