Yeah the creator of "All Tomorrows" is pretty good-humored. I would recommend for people to check out his Evangelion vid where he goes over the Angels, it's an insightful approach on how he would sort them as organisms as well as showing real world creatures that are similar in structure. It's a good watch.
Honestly, I find it inspiring that we live in a time where studio-quality animations are able to be created and released online by independents. Ten, fifteen years ago, the idea of stuff like The Amazing Digital Circus, Hazbin Hotel, Helluva Boss, or Murder Drones being not only created, but made available seemed like a pipe dream.
Regardless of yoyr opinions on the shows as a whole, you cant deny that it's impressive.
Not really a pipe dream 10-15 years ago. That's when Rooster Teeth as at their prime. 20-25 years ago, it was certainly a pipe dream though.
Same! It's really impressive, and things like the animation programs Blender and Moho updating their tools and interface I think helped make animation more accessible for creative artists. (Also, I'm looking forward to the next episode of Bigtop Burger!)

I watch animators on youtube daily, I've got a playlist with over 1,500 animations in it, and there's no end in sight. The last 10 years has seen the rise of studio quality animations just getting thrown on to youtube by independent animators. Remember, friends and co-workers aren't always the same thing. People forget this. You can be chummy with co-workers or have best friends that drive you absolutely insane, but one thing is very clear in that LP, they aren't enemies. They do have enough respect for one another to enjoy the LP together, and they are genuinely having fun playing that game. That's why it's good.
For Pat to say "it's strange for their videos to get a boost because of a video connecting TADC to No Mouth" is really odd, considering their Omikron series got a huge boost because of the Omikron Covid strain

I went back and watched the LP a bit ago because Wendigoon made a video about IHNMAIMS a bit ago. So I had to go back and realize OH GOD 10 YEARS.
Sidenote, I am NOT the age demographic for Digital Circus or Helluva Hazbin hotel. But Digital Circus is actually really good (ignore the fans dear god ignore the fans) it has a big Harry Partridge energy to the comedy.
The IHNM playthrough is REALLY good imo, and so is the game.
The age demographic is people in their 20's
Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss as an outsider looks like a show for people looking to ship everyone. That's not necessaily an insult, but I don't feel I'd get much out of it. People also like to swear so much everyone made fun of that aspect.
I kinda worry (as an outsider) it's like South Park, a show I understand why people like, but I personally don't get much out of a show if its whole point is about satire/making fun of something. It's probably important to an extent that it exists, but I don't find much fun in insulting X thing for different reasons.
The animation is prety nice though, and there are some good songs.

Digital Circus was solid as fuck. Honestly, it's surprising how well made some of those things are.
The irony is that fans of the *two* episodes of Amazing Digital Circus are going and checking out entire IHNMAIMS playthroughs to get context....meanwhile Woolie refuses to get context for something with less than an hour of official content.
To be fair, if consuming content was your job, I can understand not wanting to do it in your free time.

To add on here: Gooseworx (the creator) has tweeted fairly recently about how, yes they were inspired by No Mouth and somewhat based DC off of it but that they would LOVE to make an actual series or some other work based off the actual story itself.
So that might have also turbocharged the new fans, though im sure they were already starting this journey by that point.
I tried to read that title and my brain is melting out of my ears, not because of the content even as much as just trying to understand the sentence.

As someone whos big into the indie animation space but hadnt really watched Amazing Digital Circus I decided to watch it a couple days ago out of curiosity. The vibe i was seeing from fan stuff just didnt really click for me but after seeing horror related stuff i was like "maybe this is my thing??" And yeah after hearing this and thinking on it I can definately see it. If you push passed a crazed fanbase and a wierd obsession with it from kids, it has very much an existential horror feel to it that vibes with IHNMBMS. its the one thing thatll probably keep me watching, tho I will say the work on it artistry wise is a lot of fun.
My mom even got recommended part 1 and the compilation of the playthrough.
Digital circus feels directly aimed at tweens who grew up with FNaF and achievement hunter.
Tenma a Phaseconnect vtuber played it like a week or two ago people talked about the playthrough in her chat cuz a tangent about writing where she has roughly the same opinions as Woolie, she has been playing the big old point and clicks this year, played Harvester around Halloween as well as Kanye Quest, Barkleys Shut Up and Jam Gaiden, and Disco Elysieum

I distinctly remember watching the first few eps of the LP in last month. I don’t remember why, but remember looking up I Have No Mouth and it was at the top of the suggested search. I shudder to think that I was subconsciously influenced by the fan base of something that to me only exists through r34 of the main character.
The connection between I Have No Mouth and Digital Circus isn't that hard to draw, considering Gooseworks (creator of Digital Circus) has been pretty open of I Have No Mouth being a major source of inspiration for the show, on top of being a fan of the work itself.

While the amazing digital circus is inspired by IHNMAIMS, the two weeks ago blow up is mostly unrelated. Theres been a huge blow up on tiktok cause someone made a video about "Who is the most evil character" and one of the options was AM and everyone was like "Who TF is Am?"
So while im sure Digit Circus played a small part, the first episode that blew up was like a year ago and while there was a second episode recently but it was about a month ago.

IHNMAIMS is still my go to LP from the old days that I rewatch regularly. You know, that original story being among my favorites of all time, I *should* be glad that the new generation is finding out about it. I should, but I'm not.

The riven system didn't bother me. When those dropped, it was impossible to make my Warframe any more busted. The riven market just felt like it was rewarding people that were hyper invested with time or money. The mods were good but I could buy a busted ass riven for my favorite gun for like 2 dollars and because it was an open competitive market it wasn't up to some suit to mandate the cost just supply and demand. Also shout outs to Digital Extremes deleting cat skin roulette when one person spent too much money on the first day.

I am a fan of The Amazing Digital Circus (an animator I follow on UA-cam, Kevin Temmer, is one of the animators for the series, so that's how I discovered it), so I knew about the I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream inspiration behind the story's premise (I'm familiar with the short story, so I could see its influence immediately, lol).
To be honest... It was my first time following woolie and I listened to it again 1 year ago.... It's a good lp, whay can we say?
