@@LammasuRexIn the broadest sense of the word, "vegetable" is just any part of a plant that is consumed. So they're still vegetables. I hate the stupid semantics game with fruits vs vegetables. They're not mutually exclusive and no one eating a plant product actually cares about what part of that plant grows seeds. Botanical definitions don't matter for food.

He asked me once to give him a ride and I yelled at him that there was no way until he threw that god damned hoodie away. He bitched and moaned about it but he eventually did it and I gave him mine which had just been washed and was nearly brand new. This happened to me while I was in college, shared a four room apartment with, over the years, 7 people. One of them was The Smelly One. Now, none of us were particularly pleasant smelling, being a bunch of 18-20 year old dudes going to a technical school, but we all bathed(somewhat regularly), washed our clothes(somewhat regularly), and used(way too much) deodorant, but it was all completely understandable and expected stuff. Then He got moved in. Long story short, our complaints to the housing service were not enough to get him moved, but when our neighbors started to complain about, "Something had died in the walls." That led to people being sent out to our apartment, and discovering that in fact nothing had died, the smell was coming from the apartment next door, and when we opened the door to the technician he could not believe that a person could generate that kind of smell with a normal human body.

Alot of these issues might actually be *dehydration* rather than bad hygiene. If you don't drink enough your body starts excreting ammonia as a gas through your skin rather than putting in in your urine, resulting in a very hobo type smell.
As far as I can tell most body odor issues these days (at least outside the gaming community) stem not from bad hygiene but from metabolic problems like not drinking enough, eating things that create BO or having poor detoxification, forcing the body to put out more things via the skin instead of urine or feces.

Woolie have you never had a click-heat hand warmer? There is a tiny piece of metal inside the gel. When you flex it or "click" it it starts a microscopic reaction that causes crystals to form and spread through the gel. The reaction gives off heat and makes the gel harden. After it's all done you just soak the hand warmer in heated water to turn it back into gel and reset it. You can use it over and over until the reaction is too weak to warm enough. They're great. No need to throw it away.

Unwashed meta is real, there is a card in yu-gi-oh called “Unity” it’s effect says that you need to shake your opponent’s hand or you loose, one time someone spat on thier hand so the other player understandably refused to do the handshake thus he lost the match which later would lead konami to change the rules to make it a metaphorical handshake instead of a real one

Just to clarify: the card is called "Yu-Jo Friendship"
If you refuse the handshake you don't automatically lose but both you and your opponents life points are halved by the combined total.
Where this gets fucky is that if you have the card "Unity" in your hand and show it to your opponent then THEY MUST except the handshake.

I get Woolie's idea with the tournaments trying to incentivize but the players showing up smelling like literal shit should not be bribed with goods or rewarded for being forced to follow basic hygiene. If anything the players that show up that did shower should be getting rewarded. Only way to solve it is to act like pulling off a band aid and just kick stinky's out. The first few tournaments will probably be rough numbers wise but if it's a big enough tournament they will eventually come back and learning to not smell like shit.

There's a card that involves you being forced to physically shake hands with your opponent and people that used it would do nasty things to their hands to make it so that the people would refuse and then the user would try to get them banned for not following the rules. It had to be ruled that you can accept the concept of a handshake and gedture it from the other end of the table.

That way you can get age, smell, and personality. If they smell send them home or tell them they have to clean before the tourney starts other wise is a disqualification. If they are below the age of 18 give them a wrist band. If they remove wrist band they are dq and sent away.

The hand warmers you open and shake, are just very fine iron powder with some other stuff to hasten rusting. Rusting gives off some heat, and a fine powder oxidizes so quickly that it gives off enough heat to warm you. It's very neat.
The gel hand warmer thing, those have a super-saturated solution of sodium acetate. When agitated, via the clicker inside or just through fidgeting with it vigorously enough, the solution suddenly freezes, which gives off heat. It's not as much heat as the other type, and doesn't last long, but you can reset them by boiling them in water to melt the solution again.

I guess I'm lucky enough to work in retail, so odd smells are just kinda par for the course. I've grown used to it, as have most of my coworkers. In my first three months, we found someone had put a bag of cheese behind the big bags of dog food, and we didn't find that for like a week by the stench that was giving off. Since then, I've seen the unspeakable in bathrooms (and fitting rooms, fucking disgusting people), someone blowing up the pharmacy bathroom with an amount of drugs that must have been deadly, we've had homeless people come in smelling like a million horrible things, people were once shitting in our trash cans in protest of something that happened before I was even hired, our cooler once malfunctioned and the milk exploded in it overnight, etc. ad nauseam. Yesterday, it was just that our main backstock smelled like shit for some reason. We stopped asking questions after a while.
Now we have the problem of very little air conditioning, and running around the store all day in desert heat. I feel like I'm sweating buckets, and the best I can do is shower before and after, put on deodorant, and hope for the best. There's not a whole lot I can do except hope I'm not bad enough to be noticeable above all the other shit.

Ever noticed how, for the past few years, almost all recycled - or partially recycled - packages and wrapping for individual food items emit a strong chemical smell? And depending on the food, it'll sip through, changing its taste.
The other day I got organic dark chocolate mixed with coffee beans: no irregularities whatsoever; classic hard type plastic encasing it.
Then, regular dark (85%), (same brand), but wrapped in paper for some reason, most likely recycled paper, and the artificial aftertaste is there -- very noticeable...

I eventually started to wear workout clothes for my walk and carry work clothes in my backpack to change into once I got there. It was not a problem at all until we changed managers and she got it in her head that I was stealing toilet paper or some shit because I'd use the bathroom before my shift to change clothes.
One day I had a feeling someone was taking a peek through the stall door and I just pretended like I didn't notice and I popped off my sports bra- immediately I hear someone run out the bathroom whispering "oh my god oh my god oh my god!" Honestly I'm still proud of that power move, I mean- what did she expect?!

(she'd always call HR when she'd get uncomfortable or she felt like there was a conflict. I think her logic behind it is that she always wanted to be the first person to make a complaint before one of us did. Instead we all just eventually quit and it was a lot of people who worked there for at least half a decade or more)

18 years old, right out of high school, first job I ever worked was a Goodwill that was about half a mile from where I lived, so I would walk there in the morning and if she was able my mom would pick me up at the end of the day. It was summer. Now in my defense, I *DID* shower first thing every morning, EVERY day. But that wasn't enough. And one day I get the "you stink" meeting. So you best believe a stick of Old Spice deodorant became my best friend, I applied that shit every morning, pits AND balls, and sometimes even re-applying on my breaks.
Either way, worst job I ever worked, retail is hell and regardless of that incident the manager was a capital C so I quit after like a year.
